Rak, I do feel like that especially in the morning. Actually, today has been particularly difficult. Feel kind of flu like with an achy arm. Yuk. I've done a lot of work despite the feeling, though. I cooked a vegetable stew for dinner and did the laundry, so I guess it's not THAT bad. Usually when I get up I can shake the feeling after moving around for awhile. Today it keeps lingering. I may take a nap in a while.

Some days are better than others.  For me the big issue is joint pain. Has not eased off since I started in February. Is actually worse. Plan on talking to BS in October. Joint pain is always there. Some days doubt if I will make it five years and then say no, I have to.

I'm on it for the duration, which will probably be 9 more years. No SEs are difficult enough for me to cash in this insurance policy.

This has been a rare difficult day for me. Usually I just have problems getting moving in the morning, but after awhile I'm good. I think I pulled a muscle in my arm while sleeping and it's just been a blah, tired day. Looking forward to going to bed and getting over whatever my funk was today.

for me nausea often and really down.  I don't even recognize who I am anymore. Joint pain has lessened since I went with the generic by Greenstone. Muscle aches in my calves often.

Thanks for your responses. Looks like I'm not alone with this one. It's always easier to deal with an issue when you have some idea of what the cause might be. My onc. recently upped my depression meds too (cytralopam) as about a month ago, felt very very down and it sure has helped.

Yorkiemom, I too feel the worst first thing in the morning and it gets better as the day goes on. How'd your stew turn out?

Hope, I too feel nausea in the a.m. Blech

No joint pain cuz Femara was awful for me and I understand that pain.

    Only you guys get it.

Raku, the stew turned out great! My husband ate two helpings. But that is not unusual for him! Next I'm trying out a new cioppino recipe.

Honestly, my worst problem today is my arm. Also, I have a bum leg which I'm getting PT for. It's been acting up today also. Just hoping a good night's sleep makes it all better. Don't know how I'll do my PT tomorrow if the arm is still bad.

Are we supposed to be getting tests for liver function? I just had an abdomen and pelvis cat scan because I was complaining about distended bloat stomach since MX in Dec. It came back with a 5 cm tumor on my kidney. Wasn't expecting that one! So now I have a secondary cancer. It also showed a fatty liver, and I don't even drink. I just talked to my Oncologist and his answer is always go off for a week or two and see. My hands are getting crippled from this drug but that is the only side effect. Anyone else develop stomache distension or liver problems of any kind?

    Hello ladies

I had some nausea when I first started Aromasin, but that wore off after around 2 weeks I think.

I've been on it for 2 months now, and luckily for me it is agreeing with me.  I'm still a bit tired towards the end of the day, but that's about it.  I feel wonderful on it.  After the nightmare 14 months on Arimidex, this has been a blessing.

I've also managed to loose 29lbs while on it - but I am being fairly careful with my diet and now exercising.  I couldn't exercise on Arimidex as everything hurt too much.

I hope this gives encouragement to those about to start on Aromasin.  For those of you who are on it and having bad se's - there's always the option to try a differenct AI - and you may find one that suits your body.

    Hugs to you all

    Trish

    xoxo

    Cam,

yes ma'am I do. renal cell carcinoma 5 cm malignant tumor found on my kidney, surgery next month to get it out, robotic surgery.

This is not breast cancer that spread. Lucky me I get to research a whole new one. I'm not freaking because we did a bone scan and I'm all clear, did a lung scan and that is clear. So now I feel strong and will fight this fight. I'm just going with one day at a time, but this new news sucks no doubt.

Raku, I've tried to post a reply twice to you and neither one showed up! Hopefully, third time's a charm. I only have the one yorkie. We had a beloved Cairn who passed 9 years ago. They are such sweet dogs. I adore Pugs, and cats, also!

Oh that's so funny, mine talks alot too and when people come over--she goes up to them and say hello and they don't have a clue what she's doing.

I didn't know what she was til my cousin told me, then my grandson looked it up and there she was.

      BUT I DID ENJOY THIS

Just got my labs back and it seems the hormone therapy is working. I am glad; however, sometimes I feel that my femaleness has disappeared. Does anyone else feel this way. I actually cried over it today. Lovely disease we have.

Are you getting your estrogen level tested?  My onc never mentioned anything about that.

Or are there other tests that show if the hormonal therapy is working?

Why don't the oncs explain these things to us? My onc just said: Your bloodwork is normal---

It's funny cuz I never thought of it but again as I've said I'm older--had a full hysterectomy years ago and now no boobs--so I don't know what going on with hormones. But I certainly don't feel like I did before all of this started. But of course I' evenolder now, but it's all different. And I guess when they say normal that;s great so everything is working right as it's supposed to under the circumstances.

I'm fatigued - but not as bad as when I started.  I don't have any depression though.  Did have on Arimidex, but Aromasin agrees with me so much better.

My BS never tested for hormones; however, my PCP said yes we need to test. She wants me to use Vagifem for all the dryness. She has faxed all test results to BS and he and she are suppose to be discussing the issue. She said she needed his okay on the Vagifem. I have learned that my male doctors never think about the girlie parts other than the breasts. So BS and I will discuss next week at next appointment. Normal hormone levels would be around 90; mine were less than 19.   As for depression I have fought it for years, so I am always taking my "crazy pills" as my girls call them. But the tiredness is there nearly every day. Mornings are good but afternoon and evenings not so good. Have to make myself walk and workout some.  Other main SE for me is the joint pain. Have a great day folks!

Susannah  good luck and we're here.

Shayne being tired and depressed kind of go hand in hand sometimes.--I've been on an antidepressant for many years and when all this happened my Dr. upped my dosage which I know really helped me. But tired that's me and when I go out I can not stay as long as everyone else my body is exhausted but everyone understands but my counts are never normal so that's probably another reason. And yet I don't sleep well most of the time????

bgail- I hurt so bad (bones and back mostly) I walk like I'm 90 I take Vit B,C--?? But now I have alot of damage with arthritis soooo and I have LE and peripheral nuerapthy (sp) So who know what anything is from anymore so I take a mild pain med. I can't tolerate the stronger ones, but at least it's something.  But I do know that aromasin can cause joint and achy bones so it's all prt of the picture.

Just had a comprehensive metabolic panel done......hoping the labs might have a clue as to whats going on.  And I read somewhere online about someone being on aromasin and dx with some liver ailment, a SE of the drug.  So really want that checked as well.

Im not sure Im depressed or not......its hard to tell when your tired.....just dont have the energy to really be around people - but im dragging my ass to the gym or cycling 6 days a week.  So its not debilitating.....  and yea, still waking up some nights for a few hours to read or go online....but other nights i sleep right thru.
