Have a great weekend everyone.

Thanks for everyone's response. I slept all day Thursday and Thur night with my head under the blanket and woke up feeling pretty good Friday morning but after putting in another 12 shift I felt like I was knocked back to my knees when I got home Friday night and went straight to bed again. I have the weekend to rest up again and plan to call my oncologist on Monday but all of this brings to mind a posting one my nurse friends made on FaceBook of a mother explaining to her child "No honey, moms a nurse and we don't call the doctor until we're dead" How freaking true and worse how freaking stupid especially as one acknowledges its truth! Maybe I should have requested brain reconstruction instead of breast reconstruction.

Forgot to thank everyone for their compliments on my babies. They are Siberian Huskies, Mesha Tai and Rinney ages 4 and 5 and the loves of my life. I've had many, many dogs while raising my children and most likely because I was raising my kids (5) I never had the time to truely appreciate the special love these 4 legged friends so freely offer but these two have stolen my heart and my life will never be the same whether I had cancer or not! My kids tell me I have spent more on vet bills then I ever did on the pediatricians for all of them.

Seabeal that's funny hahaha--but I can relate cuz I love my cat--they really are part of our families. And u'r are beautiful.
Oh I wish u didn't have to work all thise hrs. that has to really be hard. And did I understand u have 5 kids? Oh Lord were u a busy Mother, I could hardly handle 2, I'm lucky they grew up OK. I'm not a Mommy type of person so that makes a difference. And now I live with one of my dgtr. the jokes on her. LOL
U rest this whole week-end and enjoy u'r puppies and be extra kind to u'rself.

Have been on Aromasin for 6 days, so far so good, but the past few days I've experienced severe fatigue in the late afternoon and early evening. Has anyone else experienced this, and doesit go away?
Susannah0 -
Susannah I don't know if it goes away, I've been on it for almost 1 and 1/2 yrs. (I think) and I'm tired alot but I'm on different meds too so who knows what's doing what. So aain I am not helpful--but I mean well.

Cam, you were a help, it's good to hear others' experiences.

Ive had the fatigue on and off. I thought it was depression for awhile there. Im trying to take my pill in the evening and see if that makes a difference. I have also amped up my exercise routine......I try to hike or ride my bike on the days Im not at the gym lifting weights and doing aerobics. It seems to help.

susannah, If you have recently finished rads it could be that. That fatique lasts for weeks.
0 -
Shayne, please let me know if taking the pill at night helps.
Ptdreamers, I finished rads almost3months ago, do u think I could still be feeling the effects of that?0 -
Susannah, it could be so many different things. The estrogen depletion, your immune system could be compromised a SE of all the ALS, etc. Exercise does seem to help balance things out.

I'm walking about 3 miles a day, play tennis doubles a few times a week, so stretching exercises. Will start biking again too. Walking especially does seem to help.

Susannah I've been on Aromasin for just over 2 months now. I started taking it in the evening and after about 3 tablets forgot one evening so took it in the morning. I felt like I was made of cement for a couple of days and was wondering if I was coming down with something. I switched back to taking it at night and it made a huge difference.
I was still tired, but not as bad. I still get a bit tired, but it's no where near as bad as it was to start with, and I sleep really really well :-)Trish

Good to know. Lets check in about taking it at night in the next week or so. I hope it works!
Tuesday is my 6 month anniversary of getting my diagnosis. While its not something I want to celebrate......its strange to think SIX MONTHS have gone by......and so much has happened. Im not the same person, that is for sure. It will be a day to stop and think.........with gratitude, and a little bit of AH that I got thru it......and I am actually smiling and enjoying life, not fearful that Im going to get bc again. I was a bit worried about living in fear. Its not how I roll I guess

I take mine about 6 or 6:30 PM. I also take 1.5mg of melatonin about ninety minutes before bed and sleep about three hours, get up for bathroom and go back to sleep for another three. Better than before when I was lucky if I didn't wake every 90 minutes.

I believe I am having my first bout of a serious SE. My knee has become very painful when walking and my shoulder has its moments also. I've started taking an occasional Aleve, one or two a week, when things are really bad, like today. I have noticed excercise helps. I know PT has really helped my leg muscle problem. Maybe I can have them address the knee. Only have 6 more prescribed treatments but I can probably get a script for more.

Yorkie mom I'm sorry==that sucks. get as many scripts that u can if it helps. Psin is no fun.

Thanks for the support Camille. Love the little fella! A good laugh always helps to start the day!
Leaving in a couple of hours to get my areola tattoo. That should cheer me up too!

Thanks everyone for your responses to my fatigue question. I will try taking my meds at night, with 1.5 mg melatonin.
Let's keep in touch. To those having joint pain, I wish I had some answers!
Susannah0 -
Sussanah we all wish u had the answers. LOL

Careful with the melatonin. Its not for extended use and has some precautions.

Susannah - check with your doctor about the melatonin - there is a lot of research that has been done about the positive effects of melatonin on hormone positive bc, so it's something that can be very beneficial to us. Your onc should be up on that research. Dosages of up to 20mg have been used in trials and does not seem to cause too many problems, and it is a naturally occuring substance in your body. But you do need to make sure your onc or dr know you are taking it.
Here in Australia my dr is quite happy with me taking it. When I was on Arimidex I was taking it regularly - but I don't need it on the Aromasin.

One more question. I'm going into my second week of Aromasin and seem to have developed heartburn and indigestion. I've been taking an antacid, but it doesn't seem to be helping. Has anyone else had this problem?
0 -
Susannah I take a script for heartburn that (for some reason) helps much more than over the counter meds. ?????

See my dr. Tomorrow, will ask him about a prescription antacid, thanks.

Has anyone else been cold? Down here in Australia we are coming out of winter and in spring, and the weather is warming up, but I seem to be freezing cold all the time. I know we have a tendancy to blame meds on anything new that is happening to our bodies, and think this is probably something not caused by Aromasin, but I sometimes wonder.
I've lost a lot of weight recently (nearly 30lbs) but am still considered overweight by my dr and have another 30 to loose, so I don't think it's because I'm suddenly skinny lol.
Anyone else?

Last Saturday, after one week on Aromasin, I went to a barbecue and was wearing a jacket, hat and gloves, while everyone else was fine In shirtsleeves, otherwise I have not been unduly cold. Hmmmmm, don't know if this helps, as I've been on Aromasin such a short time.

Susannah, I've had some increase in heartburn ( and sorry - indelicate but- gas) but I also recently began a new statin drug for the first time, so it's hard to say which could be causing it. My heartburn is mostly at night, I usually can drink waster and then take a tums and I can go back to sleep.
