Great news Websister! I can hear your sigh of relief from here.

Hello ladies! Sorry it's been a while since i've been on, been a crazy couple of weeks plus my hubby is home and just trying to spend time with him and the kiddos.
Iatigger- first off Happy belated birthday and CONGRATS on your new girls. Are you loving them yet? Sorry about having to have drains, i had drains after my exchange as well but only for a week.
Shianne- Also happy belated birthday.
Scottie- i am here, been reading everyday on here. Just been really crazy.
i too am where i need to be and be with who i need to be with.
Ramols- I'm so sorry about that childs mother. It's hard enough to lose a parent, but to lose them on a special occassion wow. This horrible disease is just pisses me off.
On to the angelina topic.... I commend her for coming out in such a very public way. The only thing that really irritated me about her Op-Ed was her saying "how easy it was for her and how she resumed her normal life days later". I'm so happy that her's was easy, as ours was not. We've either had issues with our TE's or infections, some have had Chemo/rads. I don't think money has to do with anything as far as surgeries are concerned as some of the news outlets i've read on. For her to do Prophy BMX so soon, I would probably do the same thing, I think. I know i did the prophy healthy breast, but i agonized over that during the 4 days between mammo- dx.
I love you all and I'm still here. Not leaving anytime soon.

Chrisrenee, glad you are getting hubby time.
You didnt miss my birthday because that is in august, lol. You are probably referring to our 24th anniversary.
From what I can tell I will like my squishies. He did a good job of cleaning up the ears on my sides from the first surgery. Just waiting to get rid of the drains and for swelling to go down.
Hope all is well with your nephew too.0 -
Great news websister! I am in pockets for the next one also.
Good luck Liefie and will be in your pockets as well.
Ramols - sorry to hear about the loss. My biggest fear when I was first diagnosed was what if I wasn't there to see my kids grow up. They kept me going through everything last year.
Latigger - what a nice thing your DD did for you. My DD did the same thing for me last year and it made me very proud of her. It was her way of helping me out. You must be so proud of her.
Good luck with the house inspection Juneau!
Thanks for all the well wishes. I don't have to go back for three months when I get an MRI since my original lump did not show up on mammogram until it was 2cm in size. I don't have another doctors appointment for a whole month. I won't know what to do with myself. HaHa!
Hugs to everyone! You are all the best!0 -
Yay momof3!!!!!!!!
Way to go Ramols!! And keep us posted on those dates!
Shianne you crack me up! Lol!!! And...um...yes....the police will be called!
IaTigger, hope you're feeling well!
Liefie, so excited for you! Good luck!
Websister, in your pockets!
Tazzy have fun in the Rockies with the Outlaws! (That could be the name of a song!)
Re AJ.....just wait! I bet she'll be on the cover of People!
Love & (((hugs))). Sheila0 -
Well, I guess I wasn't on the last page.......it's been that kind of a day.
Ramols, I'm so sorry that little boy's mother lost her battle. My heart breaks for him and his family.
Liefie...wow! I love the way some doctors can pull strings. I bet you're glad she'll be able to do it before maternity leave! Good luck and God speed on your recovery!
Iatigger! What a sweet daughter!! And all of those a caring people supporting you both! Brings a tear to my eye!0 -
SwgeeWI...how the heck are you feeling sweety??? Hope you are feeling so much better!

liefie, watching the last of the sunset and I think you will go the Vic General tomorrow with some sunshine and I wish you all kinds of lightness through the DIEP and afterwards. I worked at the old Vic General when it was downtown.

Thank you so much for all the well wishes and encouragement. I appreciate every one of them! Not long to wait now, and within hours it will all be over.
Marian, I'll be at the Royal Jubilee Hospital. Maybe they renamed the hospital? Anyway, have to try and sleep now for the few hours that remain.
Will check in when I can. Wish me luck as you kiss me good bye!

I just heard about the tornados in Texas. I hope Christenee and everyone else in Texas are ok.
Jumping in your pockets Liefie and websister!
Have a good day everyone else!0 -
Just caught up. Three days.
Liefie; hope I made it into your pocket... I agree with whoever said that no notice doesn't give you time to project and worry.
Ramols; about that young mother; FUCK FUCKING CANCER! Prayers for her family. And for you too-all tests will be clear and PT will be the treatment. Which also totally funking sucks btw. When does that break come?
Websister; yay- one down one to go.
I go see my MO in an hour and a half. Not worried, but hate HATE going anywhere near that cancer center. Brings up all sorts of feelings and I'm 2 days short of on year since my Dx. A bit emotional. I also have a damn cold. Sneezing and headache. Will stay away from people and try but to touch anything. All those folks in the back infusion room don't need my germs to make their life harder.
Home inspection tomorrow. Monof3- hope its more successful then yours was. May take a sick day and come back to bed so I'm up for it.0 -
Well Hello Out There Sister Warriors,
Just as I put my fourth and LAST Chemo treatment behind me, I foolishly and accidentally tripped while gardening last week and broke my left foot at the fifth metatarsal. This event has been worse than all the Chemo put together. I had an ultrasound which found a blood clot so I was sent home on Coumadin and IV antibiotics. Of course I drive a new Jetta, stick shift, so relying on my Mom (who is visiting, Thanks Goodness) to revive her driving skills has been quite a hoot (bump, stall, jump, stall, bump, beep, beep, bump, jump, stall). Now I am anemic, have 2 blood transfusions to look forward to today and then a chest x-ray and bone density study next week. And the orthopedist told me that this is one of the toughest bones to heal so 3 months in a boot and schlepping rides to Radiation therapy next month I guess.
Please do your magic out there Sister Warriors and send some good Karma and prayers my way. Who would think that the simple act of helping my Sister plant flowers would end up so crazy!!!!Peace an minimal SE's to you all. I'll keep you posted.

Awe Carolyn. :-( I'm so sorry. That just sucks!!!! Hope it's a speedy recovery!!!!!

Liefie- me and the "girls" are coming to the pocket party today too, make room for me.
Carolyn- You just can't catch a break (no pun intended). Hope you are doing well.
momof3- Tornados touched down all around us, but nothing near me. just lots of high winds, rain, lightening and thunder. we are good.
aimee- i don't know why i was thinking you had a birthday last week. oh well i will tell you again in august.
juneau- good luck with the inspection.

Carolyn, son of a bitch! WTF?? I have a friend who rolled her ankle on a step and broke her ankle, and another broke hers on a step,as well and had a blood clot. But they weren't going thru cancer treatment! Thankfully your mom is there! ( Even if she can't remember how to drive stick. That can't feel good! ) Hope you're on some good pain meds and you have a speedy recovery! Let those who offer to help, help!! I'll be in your pockets and am sending good vibes and prayers ! XXXX

Good morning ladies!
I am going to put my two cents in on Angelina. I think it was great she came out about it and now she should become a crusader for the cure!
Juneau good luck with the inspection and yes take a sick day. We may not be in active treatment but we still need to take care of ourselves.
Also my prayers go out to the families who lost loved ones these past few weeks.
So I just got a call from my MO who did a ton of bloodwork based on my aches and pains and now I have to go see a rheumatologist. She said there is a rheumatoid/auto immune issue going on. Ok I'll take that DX. So off to another dr. I go. My DH (gotta love him) said well maybe it's nothing. No honey it is something hence the reason for the new dr. He can be so cute!
To all having treatment, tests, dr appts good luck to you all. I have broken out the cloning machine and am in your pockets! BTW pocket party on the 28th! My last herceptin!
To my Canadian sisters my BFF is up your way this weekend! Told her to party like the rock stars I know you all are.
Have a wonderful day and be safe! Love you all!

Aruba, I'm feeling a lot better! The swelling has gone down, but my breast is still a little red. I have some upper body exercises to do and some manual lymph drainage exercises that are helping. I'm on Bactrim for a month and am wearing these Spanx type tanks to compress the girls. I woke up at 4 in the morning with a charley horse in my left calf. Son of a bitch that hurt!! I'm sure I can thank Tamoxifen for that! I'll have to try some tonic water unless someone else has any other suggestions. Hope everything's food in Ohio. We need to make a trip to Findlay sometime this summer.:)

Caroline - so sorry to hear of your most recent adventure, not fun.
Karen - will definitely be in your pockets for your last Herceptin on the 28th. Keep us updated on the rheumatologist
Chrisrenee - glad you stayed safe
Juneau - hope you did take that sick day and are resting up for a good home inspection tomorrow.
SWgeeWI - glad things are improving. I think you are right re: tamoxifen and Charlie horses. I would love to hear of any other solutions also.
Off soon for the bone scan, I don't expect to hear results before next week.
Take care everyone0 -
Thanks for thinking of us Texans. Like Chrisrenee who is some 60+ miles NW of me there were tornadoes all around. Granbury is a hour south of me and 6 people were killed there. I had my bag packed and house locked up in case I needed a trip to the storm shelter. Hate the thing but best money we spent even though have to clean out black widow spiders regularly. Actually we did not even get that much rain. CMBernardi is kinda in between the 2 of us. We have really had a quiet (shhh I really did not use that word, anyone in nursing knows what I mean) spring for tornado alley.
Carolyn - Owwee for the foot. Did you decide not to trade in the Jetta? I can see NOT doing that for a temporary (rads) situation. Do you have a church out there that could get some help together? I've done that for a Sunday School member driving her into Ft Worth for eye injections. Actually we have a cleaning crew doing that for a member right now, I go about every 5 weeks in rotation. In your pocket for transfusions and hoping for better RBC/hemo # soon.
Liefie - know your probably nearing surgery time even Pacific time. You know my thoughts from another thread. You'll fly through this and your kids will be fine even though maybe not the visit you envisioned. Can't wait to hear mother earth DD stories. She could be my inspiration. BTW - missed the story about the chicken coop her DH sold. Did he make her another one?
Swgee - glad boob is feeling better. I have put my sports bras back on for a while, leftie just feels better with it on even though I fight it riding up.
Karen - in your pockets for rheumy appt. Glad you clued DH in. Wink-wink.
Websister - glad for boring results on your sono. Know how extra views scare the dickens out of me. In your pocket for bone scan. Hoping they resolve your back pain issue pronto.
Juneau - loved the house pictures. Praying your inspection goes smoothly. You'll be in b4 you know it. You taking off for it? I think a day in bed after MO is called for with your cold.
Ramols - in your pocket for your tests. So sad about the young boy's mom. When will we find a reliable prevention or even cure?
Proud to say even though hope to never need it that my MO's office (which is statewide) has partnered with at least 2 other orgs. for the first proton therapy center in North Texas. Due to open in 2016. I think the closest is MD Anderson but shocked there is not one at UT-Southwestern in Dallas.
Mcook - story on Fox about MN fires. Hope you are well away from there. We've had a recent surge in fires b4 this storm.
Guess I need shorter more freq. replies. Off to get haircut today and grocery. Know I missed many. This group is so active. In pockets for anyone I missed getting tests/treatments.

OMG! I am getting the charlie horses too! Nights mostly but some during the day too. My favorite cure for it is yelling MF'er really loud!
For those with the joint pain I was just talking to my sister and she read that slow body movement like yoga or Pilates or aqua aerobics works great. Think I'm going to look into yoga.0 -
Karen, I just shot my diet coke thru my nose!!! Lmao, I used to yell that when the neupogen pains hit. Didn't matter where I was or who was around lol. They would hit so suddenly and hurt so bad it was the only thing I could think of!!!
Swgee, I pass thru Findlay, Ohio every time I visit my DS in Tennessee. Do you have family there? Or is it just a vacay?0 -
Those charlie-horses are some of the worst pain ever. I used to get them in my calves and upper thigh until I started doing a couple of things. Now I get them rarely.
I take magnesium every day with my other stuff. Upped my water intake as I read somewhere that dehydration can cause them. And the last and weirdest is...a bar of white soap at the foot of the bed, between the mattress and sheet. An old wive's tale for sure, but WTH?
Sounds like everyone is busy and getting on with life. Yay for us! Hugs to everyone as there is so much to acknowlege, pocket parties etc.

Charlie horses .... Is there a chance you are dehydrated? I get them too but am now taking magnesium for restless legs and it has helped. I do find if I am not diligent with y water intake then I get them.

HI all - I have no aches or pains at all (well not that I didn't have before BC came). I do Pilates regularly and have been doing so for over 2 years now. I'm very flexible and stretch often.Maybe that's why.
My MO gave me the all clear. She came around the corner and I couldn't believe it... Shes 8 months pregnant with her first child - a girl. How exciting. Because my numbers all look great, I've got no SEs from the Tamoxifen I am going to wait until September for my next appointment. She will be back from maternity leave by then. Poor thing, she's nervous as hell. AND I thought buying a house was a life changing event. How I forget and how God always gives me perspective.
cmbernardi: FUCK THAT SUCKS! I can't imagine trying to heal at a time when your body is so depleted. Try to let other pamper you... and YAY on your last AC treatment!! I remember that feeling of being done with chemo... I just couldn't believe I'd made it; becuase I thought for sure I'd kill myself right after threatment 3... yet here I am; with it in my rearview mirror.
liefie; thinking of you and hope you check in soon.
Ramols: I love you - thanks for the perfectly timed text message this morning as I was going in.
So I'm at work - need to save vacation time so I can make it to Iowa (actually it's because I have to have my annual colonoscopy in November and that another 2 days I'll need off. We don't do sick days - just a clump of time off to use as you wish.
Getting excited for the inspection tomorrow. Wish I was feeling better though. Almost through my second box of tissues. Oh and weighed in today. Lost another 1/2 ounds this past week. Surprised since I barely exercised becuase I wrenched my knee last Wednesday in a class and rested it for the most part. But the scale is finally starting to move. My MO said I've lost 7 lbs since February. (really I lost 4 in the last month).
OK back to work...

Juneaubug - yay for a good report from the MO! That is exciting that your MO is pregnant and sweet that she is nervous. Sorry to hear that you are feeling miserable with this cold and yet need to work. I will be in your pockets for the house inspection, hope all goes well.
Back from bone scan, I was told they got 'great pictures' (guess my bones are photogenic) and that my MO will have the report by Tuesday. Thanks for the second pocket party - I'm headed back to Liefie's and other pockets now.0 -
cmbernardi - sending you healing thoughts!!!
karenz - last herceptin - woo hoo!!! can't wait until i can say that too! sorry about the arthritis stuff - hope the dr. can sort you out! my good friend has some serious arthritis problems and swears by a gluten free diet for managing her pain.
outdamspot - soap in the bed? love it! in my house we are true believers of vicks rub on the feet covered by socks to calm night time coughing for little ones
juneau - right back at ya honey! and woo hoo for all clear from the MO - awesome! fingers crossed for inspection. I remember that nail biting wait... feel better!
liefie - hope you're resting as comfortably as possible!
websister - so glad for you your scans are over. Easier said than done - but don't think about those pending results this weekend, just relax and enjoy yourself!
I'm waiting to hear about my scans. Sounds like the c-spine will be either monday or tuesday next week. I'm on the waiting list for the brachial plexus, but thinking nothing will come up and I'll have to stick with the one at the end of the month. We'll see.
Hugs to all and in pockets where needed!
oh - and for some inspiration - check out this site (too many to list and too many good ones to pick a few to post for you; just go have a look for yourselves :

Oh Karen, LMAO, too!!! I think that would make me feel better, but then it would get the dogs barking and wake up DH and the kids, esp. at 4 am!!
Shianne, I grew up in Findlay. Two of my sisters are still there, and one is near Columbus. Yeah, no, I can think of way better places to vacation! It's till "home" tho.
Great news Juneau! (About the all clear and the scale!) good luck tomorrow with the inspection!
Websister, glad your bones are so photogenic!
Well, I'll have to give the magnesium a try for the charley horses. Oh, the soap, too! I'm pretty sure I've been drinking enough water, but I should maybe pay more attention. This Bactrim I'm on has me feeling kinda crappy, but the loss of appetite might spur some weight loss!
G'nite everyone, stay safe, gentle hugs, Sheila0
