Believe, you're clever woman. You can do it - lol. Joking aside, pm me if you want help with the conversion. Being from South Africa originally, both Americans and Canadians sound funny to me - LOL.

Hi everyone
Beautiful sunny day
Update on my newest grandchild - she was born on Wednesday, June 26 at 6:24 pm, 7 lb 5 oz and 19.25 inches long. Very healthy and beautiful baby girl with lots of thick, dark hair. All are doing well, she should be going home this morning.
Have a wonderful weekend!0 -

Websister - congratulations on Paisleys arrival. Life is good!
Yes, TGIF.0 -
Tazzy, I am with you. The only English that sounds normal to me is British English. LOL. Enjoy your camping trip!
Websister, so glad to hear you Calgarians have dry weather at last. Hope the grandmama of four got a good night's sleep?
Summer is supposed to arrive here tomorrow with temps upward of 25 C. Will only believe it when I see it - sorry, but I've been disappointed by the weather way too often. Boys are coming home tomorrow and staying for a week this time! So looking forward to their visit. Have to go into town for supplies. They will be expecting mom's home cooking, and I just love to spoil them rotten.

Websister HOW WONDERFUL! I'm jealous.
Liefie I had to do the google conversion to see what the temp was going to be up your way tomorrow. I'm glad Believe said that about the recipe or I could have made some awful stuff. lol
Have a great weekend everyone!

Websister.....congrats....did you know Paisley is in Glasgow, Scotland. I used to go ice skating there all the time. It's where the paisley design comes from. And we almost have the same birthday!!!! Your granddaughter and I have a lot in common....lol

Believe, last time I went to Montreal, everyone kept asking if I was from the US. I felt like saying well hell yeah, I got "made in the usa" stamped on my butt, wanna see?
I need to take my fiance, any thing to get out of spending one more holiday at his ex wife's mansion. I mean his kids are grown for crying out loud and one bought a house a few blocks from him! Maybe I can get my nip surg done on Thxgiving or Christmas,LOL.
shianne, thx for the story on the senior cancer survivor and a "you go girl" out to her. It was so encouraging to me.
Tamox girl, I would ask the doc to switch me. I was on Arimidex hell and I got a new doc and got Femara. Its pretty tame side effects.

Thank you to all for the congratulations on Paisley's arrival.
Scottie - thank you for letting me know that re: Paisley. My paternal grandmother was Scottish heritage so it is even more fitting and you have even more in common
Shianne - love survivor stories
Liefie - I posted about your son's on another thread but will reiterate - enjoy cooking for them and spoiling them thoroughly. In addition, let them spoil Mom a bit in return
Wishing all a good weekend0 -
Thanks, Websister! I'll give my boys your message re spoiling their mom. The Scottish connection is very interesting. My maternal grandmother came from Scotland to South Africa as a governess where she then met my maternal grandfather. Scottiee and Websister, we may be family!

Well gals, just want to share with you that today is my 66th birthday. What a difference a year makes. This time last year I wanted to pack it all in but would never leave my sons such a legacy. This time last year I was vomiting daily, lost 30lbs, my family trying to drag me off to the ER...startied seeing a therapist, was put on anti-depressants and anti-anxiety meds, was afraid to leave my doorstep....the list goes on and on.
One year later, I'm feeling great, going to a very large wedding today (what a wonderful way to celebrate my birthday) getting ready for the Iowa/Chicago trip and meeting some wonderful women.
I want to say thank you to everybody...You will never know how much you all have helped me pull through. I guess it's true what they say that there really is life after
BC....I just takes time.....yes, I have my aches and pains due to Letrozole (nothing to do with the fact I'm 66 of course....lol) but life is good and sweet.
I'm going to this wedding with my husband and two sons....this is my family...and I will cherish every minute of it. I will be in a Greek Orthodox Church so I'm going to light
one big candle for all of you because you have become my second family.
Will stop now as I feel tears coming on and this can't happen on such a wonderful day...love you all dearly. Just wanted to share this....❤❤❤0 -

HAPPY BIRTHDAY SCOTTIE! We will have a belated birthday toast with you in a few weeks.
Enjoy your day to the fullest.0 -
Scottie - You moved me to tears. I don't post so often anymore, as I guess I'm getting on with life and am keeping busy. But I read all the time, and keep you ladies all close to my heart all the time. Whenever folks ask me how it was going through the last year or what I did to keep myself together - I talk about this thread and you ladies. It was a true lifesaver for me to have stumbled upon this site shortly after my diagnosis. Thanks all for always being here! Rock on and keep on KCA! Now I'm off to have a day of good living - taking my kids to the children's museum and then having a splash party and BBQ in the backyard with dear friends - weather permitting. Every day really is a gift. If I'd had a different doctor, or not followed through on his recommendations - I might not be here today to enjoy this day. I am so thankful I am. And I am so thankful you all are to!

Happy birthday Scottiee ... Your wine is on my dining room table waiting for you.
Ramols I am like you ... I read most days but do not post. BCO was instrumental with my recovery ... The connection that I made with so many will last a lifetime.
To the Canadian friends ... happy Canada Day .. Enjoy the long weekend.0 -

Opa Scottie! Happy birthday! It is amazing how a year can change things. Last summer I could barely function and my kids have been out of school 3 days and we've already hit the beach twice! Tonight me and DH and some friends are spending the night in Atlantic City and my BFF got tix to see the Long Island Medium! I can't wait!
Scottie/Liefie I would get on ancestry.com and check out that connection!
Ireland - rest up and glad all went well!
Websister post a pic as soon as you can of Paisley!
Everyone else have a great weekend!0 -
Oh Scottiee, thanks for that post and happy birthday! I am looking forward myself to the start of a new year~~the post BC year later in July. I hope you have a really great family day at the wedding too.

Dear Scottiee, happy, happy birthday to you! Like Ramols, I teared up when I read your post. I think you have summarized exactly how most of us feel when we look back at the road we travelled with bc, and our amazing sisters here who helped us through. Enjoy your boys, enjoy the wedding, and enjoy life! You've earned it, and we love you too!
Ramols, I feel the same about my ob/gyn. He did a biopsy of my uterus, and a routine breast examination when I saw him in Dec. 2011 for my yearly checkup, and voila - endometrial ca and a breast tumour both discovered early. I am eternally grateful to that man.
My boys are travelling in the mountains west of Jasper as we speak, and left Edmonton at 4.30 this morning. It is another 9 hours to Vancouver and the ferry. Can't wait to see them tonight.

Scottie - so glad that this birthday you are truly celebrating. Your post was very touching and I agree with everyone else's posts. Last year on this day I had my right total mastectomy and axillary lymph node dissection, exactly nine days after I received my diagnosis. What a whirlwind of tests and emotions and look how far we've all come in the year since!
Liefie - wishing continuing safe travels to your boys
Ramols - glad you are finding your happy each day
Everyone - have a great day0
