HAPPY BIRTHDAY SCOTTIE!!!!!!
As others have said your post brought me to tears on a good way and I feel the same as you about everyone hear being sisters to me! I could not have gotten through the last year without you all by my side!
Have fun in Iowa and I will be there in spirit as I will be in the hospital recovering from, I hope, my last surgery for a while. I will definitely be reading and looking for pictures of the trip.
Hugs everyone!0 -
Thank you everybody for all your well wishes. Celebrating my birthday at a big fat Greek wedding...lol...was just great, and one of the little flower girls, whose name just happens to be Christine, celebrated her birthday yesterday too....what fun. We all got a little bottle of wine with a picture of the bride and groom, and of course, the date June 29, so I will keep it as a nice memory. I danced a lot, ate and had wine, and during it all I thought about all of you, and myself and how far we all have come. Again, thank you for being there and being part of my new family....love you all..❤❤❤

Hello Ladies,
Of course I seem to always catch up here on Sunday Mornings. Lots to catch up on but love the posts and checking in with all of you.
Ireland - wishing you speedy recovery and good news from your bio! My doctor has suggested I get mine removed and I am thinking about it just wasn't ready yet but I better make my appointment soon to talk again about it.
Scottie- happy belated birthday! Your post brought tears to my eyes:)
I saw some post about supplements for joint stiffness. Man I am in need of some thing to help with that. It seems to be back again - when I am moving it is better but after waking up or sitting for long periods I have to take a few steps before my ankles seem to loosen up. Wonder if I should maybe go see some type of doctor? I can live with it but really wish I could find something to help naturally. Not a big fan of prescriptions as we know:)
As I sit drinking some coffee which always gives me my morning hot flash LOL I am so used to that but I give myself Sundays to have Coffee so screw you hot flash I am going to just imagine I am in a sauna sweating out all those toxins you would thing that hot flashes would have some positives for us like a hot tub or sauna
I am going for a long walk/run this am so I better get my stiff ass moving! I am slow and steady so takes me a heck of a long time to go 12 miles but I just do what I can.
Time is flying by! In just a few weeks I get to meet some of you in person! I am more excited about that my marathon:) I want that day over so I can give you all a big ole hug!
Also, I am in Chicago for work August 6-7 so if anyone is in that area let me know and would love to meet up as well. Then I am in Kansas city the follow week again for work so that is another option and I am driving to both meeting so can make a side trip before or after. That is unless I can get an interview and new job by then:) working on that and have a few leads so I just try and be patient.
I have my follow up appointment coming up in August as well and I need to remember that is my first priority to take care of myself.
Ok - better let everyone get on with their day:) enjoy your Sunday and think of all of you!
I will check back more often as I always get grounded when I come here to all of you and reminded how precious life is and to remember what is important. Thank you for that!
Love and Hugs!
Michelle

Shit - I forgot something! My Aunt was diagnosed with BC (not blood related) she live in AZ and resides in Canada in the summer as my uncle and her own a fishing resort some where in Ontario. She stayed behind in AZ to do treatments. I haven't kept in touch with them for many years but when I found out called her last week. We talked for about two hours. She has triple negative and is brac 1 positive, so different treatments than I had and had some questions I could not answer. She had some type of rads think she called it brachial? And going through chemo now then rads. She had a lumpectomy but also had lymph removal and two came back positive. I suggested she check out this site for some information and I hope she does. She was pretty positive so that was good to hear. I think I might have overwhelmed her if I would have tried to give a lot of information or suggestions so I just listened but she needs to find some place where she can ask some questions and BCO is just the place I believe as it has help all of us so much!
Just thought I would share:)0 -
Mcook, so looking forward to cheering you on and maybe even walking a mile or two with you. You need to let us know your route so we can find you that day.
It is amazing how many of us have had friends or relatives get diagnosed after us just showing this damn disease isn't slowing down. Positive thoughts going out to your aunt.0 -
Hi all! Just checking in to say hello, happy birthday, happy belated birthday, hugs, etc. If I missed your birthday, don't feel bad, I forgot my husband's this year (6/25), too.

Hello...that word puts me in song now that I was lucky to get the chance to see Book of Mormon! I loved it and would see it again! I have been busy getting ready for my trip to Florida to be with my dad before during and after knee replacement surgery. I'll be leaving Friday and will be down there at least a month before my brother comes down to relieve me a few weeks before I return in late August. I have moved up and thus just had my first full mammo on left and right, met with radiologist Friday, dermatologist tomorrow. All is good, no Dr's now till October....RELIEF!
I have been trying to catch up here and need to send belated get well wishes to Ireland...take it slow and easy!
Happy Birthday Scotiee..you are special!
Websister...Congratulations! Sounds like your family tree just added a beautiful leaf! Enjoy that new baby!!
McCook, I am with you every step of the way and sooo wish that I could be with all of you meeting! Please include me in the group hug!
Believe, sounds like you are doing well. My bracelet is getting so worn that the angels are turning red....may have to order another one and not wear this so much. I still get soo many compliments.
Chrisrenee...have not seen posts from you? Hope you are doing ok and so too your family. Thinking of you often.
Juneau..hope you getting ready to move into that house? How exciting.
Liefie..hope you are doing well and in full recoup mode. Happy Anniversary and upcoming birthday..so much to celebrate.
Everyone else, I love hearing from you here and please know I think of everyone here much more often than you know. It is you that has understood all the emotions, the ups and the downs that this last year has shown. The only good thing about this damn disease, is having found you and walking with you down this path..side by side.
Tomorrow is my 29th anniversary...hubby had a proposition for me...and is taking me downtown to the Ritz overnight, to dinner and to see the Cleveland Orchestra doing 1812 overture with fireworks..in more ways than one? Gonna be apart now as I head south with dad...so taking advantage of ever moment. Love you guys! Happy 4th to all those is USA. I'll check in again from Florida!

Hi my lovelies! I haven't been posting much because nothing seems to be different with me. Really been busy with work and family as we all are. Work has had me stressed out for the last several weeks. Sometimes I want to rip my bosses head off and others well I tolerate her. I have given her the nickname of she devil😈.
Jon has been home about 2 weeks now and we have been busy with Stephen being at basketball camp, his team came in 3rd put of 6. I was so proud of them.
I am planning on having another surgery in October, this is to do some additional liposuction/ stitch down the cleavage area and make my nips. I'm excited about this phase of it.
I want you all to know that I have read everything and have laughed and cried with all of you.
Websister congrats on baby Paisley.
Ireland hope you are feeling better after surgery.
Carolyn and Shari a big HELL YEAH on finishing rads. One more thing down. It only gets better.
Off to finish my laundry l, fill my medication boxes, and get ready for bed soon. Love you all! Christy0 -
Happy Birthday Scotiee! I hope is was the BEST one yet.

Hi Ramois,
Dr Matros is my PS and I agree he is great..much different than his pic lol. I just had my third fill and am at 240cc's. I am sore and have tightness that subsides within the day. Dr. Matros said I was 400cc's prior surgery; does the soreness increase with each fill or does it subside?
I am scheduled to go back to work in a week but I am a bit nervous getting on the subway and someone bumping into me Not sure what to do.
Thanks,
Karoline0 -
Karoline - I think everyone reacts differently to the fills. For me - the soreness would go away after a day or so but the tightness stayed. It gets better with your permanent implants but still feels a bit tight. Who was your breast surgeon? I had Dr. Sclafani. She is based out of the commack office but does all her surgery at main campus. I didn't ride the subway too much during my fills. Just here and there. Tried to give myself a wide berth... And used a rolly bag for my computer and stuff instead of shoulder bags. PM if you want to chat more. Rest up!

Hi girlfriends!! I havn't posted in a while. My cellulitis is back. At least i know what it is this time, started my antibiotics and avoided a trip to the hospital. This is really, reallllllllyyyy getting old. My BS (bless her heart) told me to stay on the antibiotics and Motrin 24/7 until I see her next Tuesday. She said she'll keep me on Bactrim for 3 months this time (like I'm not on enough meds already,LOL).
Luanne, I switched my Tamoxifen to nighttime again. It makes me so tired during the day that I can't get much done so I'll just have to deal with the leg cramps in the middle of the night. How is it that I felt fine when I had breast cancer and so sick, now??? What a fucking nightmare cancer is!!
I just really need to get my attitude turned around. Hopefully this month will do that. My oldest sister from Minnesota is supposedly going to come for the 4th of July. Then my 2nd oldest sister from Ohio and her two girls will be here the 11-17. Then IOWA!!!!!! (Yaaaaay!) At the end of the month my brother , his wife and two kids from Colorado will come for a visit. I haven't seen any of them since my Dx in November. It will be so good to see everyone.
I've been reading everyone's posts and am laughing and crying alongside you, celebrating and jumping in pockets as well. I think about you all often, wish you nights full of sleep and few side effects and great memories with your friends and family. I'm so thankful you're in my life! Take Care!! Sheila0 -

Ladies, need your help in reply.
I have hit a roadblock. Stage IIIA, ILC, ER/PR+ Her2- LOW RS score--Luminal A cancer.
The research has stated that my cancer biology doesn't warrant chemo utility but the pathology of
my case at 6CM tumor and three + nodes, applies CHEMO. I am now 6 weeks post surgery and have
to move into treatment. Famara and radiation and NO chemo is what I would like to do and one oncologist
does agree to that route. Any one else having to make these decisions??

CDS.... IMHO with a 6cm tumour and + nodes chemo is a given. I would do it In a heart beat. Just my opinion but I'm not familiar with lobular.
Ok, girls. My bad. My one year was last week plus the stress of my sons heart condition has got me back smoking again ;-( I need you ladies to beat me black and blue till I quit again0 -
Suzanne try the Blu electronic cigarettes! My DH has been using them and not only do they smell good (like pipe tobacco)but there is different levels of nicotine including none! Go to the website and check it out. And don't feel bad - this weekend I enjoyed my fair share of second hand smoke at the casinos. I quit in 1997 but still miss it. good luck.

Darn auto correct! I meant Luann not Suzanne!

Luanne, I will beat you while we are away .... The hotels are all NO smoking so that wil help and of course the car will be, right?
CDSR, have you checked out the ILC thread .... I have a cyber sister rdrunner that is ILC, maybe find her and send her the message. She will be a lot more knowledgable then me.0 -
Luanne, what was your son's cardiac diagnosis? Just curious as I can relate due to DD and her cardiac issues.
Don't beat yourself up over the smoking. Just a temporary thing we hope.

Wow... so much to catch up on. Read all, but no time to respond to all.
Belated birthday wishes Scottie - your post also brought tears to my eyes.. so true.
Jumping in pockets if needed - jumping in anyway whether needed or not.
Great weekend camping - bloody hot, but better than rain.,
Hugs everyone xxxxxxxxxxxxx

Thanks Karen
Jo, car is no smoking yes lol. But there will be bathroom breaks ;-).
Outdamned. He hasn't seen the cardiologist yet. Still waiting!! Hope it's soon as he goes back to school in just over a month. I thought the waiting game was over;-(.
I'm sure it will be temporary, but summer time is so hard to quit!!0 -
Shianne - you can do it. I have total confidence in you!

Luanne-hope he gets an appointment soon. It's so hard when your kid's have problems. Our DD is doing well now the right dosage of medication has been arrived at, but I still worry. I know my mom still worries about me, so I guess it's a forever thing:)

Luanne you beat cancer! You can quit cigarettes again. DH and I smoked ages ago and know how tempting it can be to start again. There are so many more ways to help you quit now. You can do it!! My mom, dad, and mom's mom all died from emphysema & COPD issues. It is a terrible way to die, not being able to breathe. It also interferes with the healing and recovery process not to mention what it does to your lungs. I have allergies and when I smoked I always got sinus infections. Those stopped after I quit about 21 years ago. Plus I can't imagine paying whatever it is they charge for a pack these days. Good Luck!

I think it is, my mom was worried sick about me and still drives me insane calling to check on me lol. What was the final diagnosis for your DD? They are looking at my DS upper right valve but we can't seem to get more answers than that. He was born with congenital palpitations but we were told that it would never cause an issue now they just look at us and shrug. It's so frustrating!!!

Cmbernardi .. That is a Canadian hospital in Sarnia ... Pretty cool ... Thanks for sharing.

Shianne, if you can survive chemo, you can quit smoking. That's my new mantra whenever I encounter something that seems difficult to do. Works for me every time . . .LOL.

I agree .... I quit in 2006 and if I can do it, anyone can.
