Juneaubugg......you look gorgeous....you know, Tazzy is correct....as a former dietitian, I used to tell my patients the same thing ......and the yo yo dieting is so harmful to the body, but I know, all that is easier said than done.....

WTH gals.....you've been through so much, conquered so much.......a little weight loss

for you will be a piece of cake....oops wrong idiom.....lol.

Marcie...this is my first attempt at cheerleading also......you are right....if anybody can do it, it's this bunch .......go girls go....YES....YOU CAN DO IT 💃💃💃

Good morning east coasters and west coasters, when you wake up.....is it too early to

ask how the " new lifestyle changes" are going.....hmmmm, just thought I would ask...

remember, I'm new at this cheerleading business....lol. If I become too nauseatingly

cheering .....you can always tell me to STFU...oops ...that's another thread....ok...need more coffee, with cinnamon in it, of course 💃💃💃

Love the pup saying Tazzy-great attitude huh?

Juneau, regarding your bird saying; I can fully relate to it as I was the "statue" for some dang sea gull one time over at a beachside cafe and it was a pretty shi##y experience! Hey, I noticed you added little pic at the top of the page today (or last night?) and of course your new pic. After seeing the pic with the glasses and so business looking , then seeing todays new sexy photo, I can see you at home being like the girl in one of the old Enjoli perfume commercials (which youre probably too young to remember) where a Brunette lady had her hair pulled back, glasses, a suit and a scarf around her neck then comes into the kitchen singing : " I can bring home the bacon, Fry it up in a pan, And never, never, never let you forget you're a man, 'Cause I'm a woman  W- O -M- A- N"  while peeling off the glasses, letting her hair down , pulling her scarf off her neck and reaching for her frying pan. LOL  That's the Juneau I picture after you get home from work . ( Ok letting the hair down will have to wait, and you don't have to have it to be sexy anyway but the rest of the imagery is the same for you Juneau-going from business woman to sex kitten-oops and maybe a little grumpier too because you probably aren't making much use of the frying pan since you're under going your "lifestyle change"- so sorry the commercial had a food reference :(  but like I said the 2 pictures of your just ignited the song in my head- and dang I probably won't be able to get it out of there now for weeks lol )

In the meantime as a fellow cheerleader let us add to the end of Marcies great cheer this morning a loud

So proud of all of you and wish I had the willpower to be on the dieting team! Happy Weekend.

Scottiee, me, Marcie and 301724 - so 4 cheerleaders and I have nothing but smiles for all of you this morning here on the rainy west coast. Marcie, good for you for coming up with "you go girls....if anybody can do it, you can do it!!"
"you can do it, you can do it"

Lifestyle change comment could not be closer to the truth - our lives changed overnight and so of course our lifestyles. With the roller coaster we are/have been on those huge ups and downs really make it hard to plan anything so again, you are all amazing. Whatever way you start this weight loss plan, just remember that it can be in baby steps and with all our support behind you.

Scotttiee, I am having my first really milky latte but forgot the cinnamon - next one. Love my lattes with my little battery operated milk swirler - not fancy but makes great skim milk lattes. Cinnamon on top next one.

Scottie - saving cinnamon in my coffee this morning :), Marian has me thinking skim milk latte with stevia and cinnamon as a bedtime treat tonight. Knowing you guys are cheering or with me has helped me a couple of times already when I wanted sugar, went for fruit instead. I really need to send you cheerleaders my goodies so they are not tempting me. Now that only one of my four boys is still home there's too much of it remaining to tempt me after the holidays.

Juneau - love the new avatar and Dr. Seuss book

2fried - I remember that commercial, very appropriate for Juneau's last two avatars

Going to walk on the treadmill this a.m. before I procrastinate and plan to get outside for a bit as the weather is mild today

    Have a great day everyone

I did it? 30 minutes on the treadmill. First time in years. I woke up with all the concerns. What will I wear. Where's my Disco music with the driving beat. Couldn't find that music but put a sports bra over my pjs and just did it. I'm so proud of me and all of us. There isn't anything we can't do. Doing it together is even better. You all inspire me!

Lol. Thanks 2frired (for thinking I'm too young to remember it) but now I have that fucking song stuck in my head too! And it ALWAYS comes with that damn Fabrage commercial. With the splitting boxes. "So I told a friend... And so on, and so on, and so on... " ARGH! It's enough to drive a woman batty!!! 😝😜 oh wait that's the lack of sugar and carbs.

I went over my caloric intake by 300 yesterday, but it was the snack of an entire mango and 2 cups of grapes that did it.

So I started reading my dancing In limbo book last night at the beginning. (I'd read bits and pieces in the middle) and it defines the word limbo on the first page. Now I see why they called it that. It's exactly where I feel I am emotionally, in limbo. Not the old me... And not yet settled into who/how this new person is and will live. Talks a out how when we get out of treatment caretakers just go back to their daily lives thinking we're good now. People expect us to be more grateful and all that, but no one allots for the fear and the fact that we can't go back to what was once normal. And it's in the redefining of that, that we rediscover ourselves.

Ok. Babbling.... Going to do some house chores, sans glasses. (Should I toss on my French Maids outfit?! Oh wait!!! I'm too fat to get into it!!)

Good for all of you! And Believe777 - go you! Just doing it (to quote another commercial!) makes all the difference.

I don't know about all of you but I find that tracking my exercise with an Excel spread sheet is enormously motivating and gratifying. I admit I'm probably a little OCD but I love my color-coded sheet that I make up each year. There's a place to record what I've done - miles or time run or walked, biked, etc. plus a place to note other things like core exercises and weight lifting. I fill in the amount of exercise - and most importantly! - color the cell! - each day. Since I'm a runner, I fill in the spaces for my races and color my 'long run' each week a darker version of this year's color.

At the end of the week I total how many of each activity I've done plus my mileage. And I  set the sheet to total mileage for the year. Seeing those filled in boxes makes me happy. And lets me enjoy my 'days off' because I know I'm on track for the week/month/or year.

For any one who is similarly geeky, I'm happy to send a 2013 spreadsheet. Just PM me with your e-mail address.

You are cute! After one day, I don't think I need an excel spread sheet but I will a calendar. One is on my phone. It will be nice to see entries other than doctors appts:-:

It's funny how songs jump into your mind. When I was on the treadmill the one that I kept thinking about was: If My Friends Could See Me Now! It's an oldie if you don't remember it. I think Shirley McClain sang it. Maybe it's in the iTunes library.

Juneaubugg.....that could be your next avatar...a French maid .....love it....sure beats

    the school teacher look...lol.....

Sad to say, this is our new normal with good days and bad, and, yes, Jueaubugg, people

just start to drift and believe we are "well" now....no one but us here gets the emotional

aftermath of it all. I have hope however, as I do read here from many gals a few years

out that it keeps on getting easier, and that in fact, some of them hardly think about BC

at all.....that will be us some day telling the newbies the same thing.

Cheerleading is going to be easy and fun with you guys! Websister, I never knew about Stevia until my husband brought me home some ginger ale (brand is called Zevia) and is sweetened with Stevia, has no calories, no gluten or caffeine and no artificial sweeteners. Stevia for anyone not in the know, is a plant. This drink also comes in ginger root beer and others. I am not much of a pop drinker but have to say when I felt sick and over Christmas I have loved having it around.

Believe, yay for you and the treadmill and I can't wait to hear more about your outfits!

Cowpower Bless your heart! Volunteering for the trip to disney. When you say teenagers, how old? The school cheerleading competitions have always been here as well as many of the other high school competitions. We moved  here when my son started high school. He and his friends would always tell the parents they had to carpool to one of the Disney hotels for some school related events. Since he was always into sports and I knew there were so many school related competions to watch there I never really questioned it. Took me 2 years before I figured out that they were going there at the same time every year; when the high school cheerleaders  were in town for their competitions. He still comments on what a great place it was to meet girls as a teen. lol

Believe I can't wait for some quiet time to look thru your bracelets-sound amazing!

OMG 301724 If my husband heard that you were using that excel spread sheet to track your excercises it would be love at first site for him. He is so analytical and when I had my 4 drains after surgery he had to number all the drains and track the drainage on a spread sheet, how much more or less each drain put out, the totals etc. I would try to sneak in and empty my drains before he realized it was time because it all had to be so exact for him to put it in the computer spreadsheet.

Tazzy  Hummmmm.... snow shoveling wonder how many calories that burns -it's been decades since I lived in snow but from what I recall, shoveling snow was great exercise! Do you need the cheering squad to attempt to send you a telepathic cheer while you shovel? LOL

Dang Juneau you and your changing "looks" reminding me of that Enjoli song. I am so sick of that damn commercial spinning in my head. No matter what other music I put on, that darn music " I can bring home the bacon, Fry it up in a pan, And never, never, never let you forget you're a man, 'Cause I'm a woman W- O -M- A- N" WON"T get out of my head!!!! And you are right about the Faberge commercials following-that is so weird how that stuff sticks in our minds. But I thought maybe by rehearing some of Joannes music might displace the dang Enjoli song but NO! ahhhhhhhhhhh I feel like it's my payback for not getting on the "lifestyle change" boat at the beginning but I'm just not ready-infact tomorrow is wing day at the local pub and the plans can't be cancelled! Shame on me but what can i say. LOL

Well stay warm northerners. It's in the 50's here so that's pretty chilly for me. Have a good weekend

Marian, I try to use stevia now in my baking, but it's tricky and I'm still experimenting with it. Another thing you ladies can use instead of sugar is agave syrup....not calorie free,

but has a low glycemic index, and is a natural sugar.

2fried, is there anything more ingenious than a teenage boy with lust on his mind? My two wonderful idiots took a sudden interest in girls volleyball this year, turned out the new uniforms were quite the attraction.... I will be travelling with the HS Concert Band, ages 14 - 18, including my own boys, ages 16 & 18. Oh My!

Are you perhaps married to an engineer? My husband couldn't stand my haphazard chicken scratch when I was recording my drains. Finally, he had to admit it was driving him crazy:)

Outdamnedspot, Have a great trip- you so deserve it! I love the lifestyle correction angle and will try and incorporate it into my thought process- my correction needs to be quite thorough!

Tazzy- I admire your tenacity in shoveling. I have never been in great shape but the past year has brought me low! I got winded scraping my windshield last week. Oh well, the journey back will begin with one step!

Joanne, whenever I am wakling outdoors, and its been eons since then, I rely on Billy Joel's Italian Restaurant to get me up the hills. I remember the days before ipods when we had to load up a Walkman. Mine was yellow, lol. I would love to get back to a few miles a day. You guys are inspiring.

I love, Midnight Train to Georgia by Gladys Knight.  Haven't heard it in way too long.  I also like Bad Day, that one is in my library already!  I seem to like almost all music, I can't even exclude Country anymore.  Maybe jazz .

You are all so much better at this website than I am.  I would mention you all by name but I can't see anything but a few lines in this reply box.

I didn't know I needed another outfit for tomorrows treadmill adventure!  Don't stress me out:-) I was able to put some Disco music on my phone.  Maybe I can go a little faster than 2.5.  Don't laugh, today was my first day in years.  How fast are you ladies walking?  Am I doing it too slowly for results?

Only one person sent me her bracelet request and it went out in the mail today!  I hope to hear from all of you. really. Thank-you all for the nice comments.  My Mother makes the bracelets and I agree, they are beautiful.  The reason I turned my computer on was because I thought I should be checking some special place for a PM - I found that PM box but it was empty.  Look forward to hearing from all of you.

I must be doing something wrong.  I don't get photos on my computer? and I can only read your messages on my iphone and ipad.  I can't respond or sign in on my iPad - only on my phone if I actually sign in, then I can see very small photos.  Grr. Sorry to whine but I do get to read every word.  You are all very entertaining and I love you all!

Great job Cheerleaders.  You make this all seem like fun.  I am wondering if I should have been a cheerleaders - only kidding.

Joanne: i love your choices in music. I have them all in my music collection. Dragging the Line always gets me singing.

Who said they had a yellow Walkman?! LOL!! Who remembers their old 8 track?! I had one in my bedroom what I was 11 with Bat out of Hell. Had to always listen to two tracks before it would get to my favorite and then if wanted to hear it again... Well you know.

Believe: I started at 2.5 last Monday and was at 4.0 yesterday, by not as long. Did 10 mins of 3.5 first. I used to do 4.2 on a incline of 2 then up to 10, back down and then back up. But I am still short if breath sometimes too and even at 2.5 it's better then sitting on the couch eating away my feelings. Last year I lost 25 lbs just counting calories. No exercise at all.

301724; I envy you... Enjoying exercise. I hate it. I don't run, nor do I want to. I WANT TO be one of those people who is crazy about exercise, but I'm not sure that's ever going to happen to this girl. So, I certainly don't need a spreadsheet. Lol.

OK Ladies a little bit of motivation to chew on this am :

“Those who think they have not time for bodily exercise will sooner or later have to find time for illness.” – Edward Stanley

When you feel like quitting think about why you started.    Unknown

"The odds of hitting a target go up dramatically when you aim at it." Mal Pancoast

and last but not least :

My favorite saying above is "the good Lord gave you a body that can stand most anything." (which we all have and continue to prove true with all the various chemo, rads, surgery etc) "it's your mind you have to convince." (now this part is exactly why we are all here!) we cheerlead each other on so that our mind will follow in the footsteps of our body! Let's keep up the good work. We can do it by putting one foot in front of the other, be that on solid ground, the treadmill, elliptical etc. We can do it :))

    Have a great day.

Ok...I guessed you've gathered by now, I'm an early bird....I fly high early on in the day, but take a nose dive by 8pm...lol

I was talking with a friend yesterday who is struggling a little re her motivation about losing weight. She reminded me of the ONLY thing that worked for me....(before Letrozole my weight would fluctuate 10 - 20lbs) ...I would take my favourite pair of jeans

And hang them OUTSIDE my closet and every 1-2 weeks, would try them on.....when I was able to pull that zipper further and further up.....BINGO...that was my incentive to keep going. I have never owned a scale .....numbers are too depressing....my scale is

how I look and feel in my regular sized clothes.....especially my jeans.

Just a different angle gals.....perhaps one or two of you might want to give it a try.

Another dietitian's tip, but you probably know this one ......use a smaller plate....many of my patients would tell me that it really helped.

Ok....going for coffee.....almond milk and cinnamon sticks....

BTW....there is a new almond milk now which contains coconut milk as well....it is really

good, and you certainly wouldn't need sugar with this.
