Hi everyone - I've enjoyed reading through the posts

Believe - maybe my hemoglobin is low right now but last week when I got on the treadmill I started at 2.5 and had to go down to 2.3 as I was so short of breath. In a week I've been able to increase to 2.7, start at 2.3, no incline, gradually increase incline to 3 and to speed of 2.7 for middle ten minutes of 45 minutes. Have to admit though that I have to get done what I need to accomplish energy wise early in the day, crashed yesterday afternoon - possibly due to Herceptin on Thursday - who knows? I would love a bracelet so I will also PM you.

Ireland - great idea, sounds like the perfect opportunity at the perfect time.

Scottie - I have a dress that I ordered last month in my usual size that is too tight, I was going to send it back but I could instead use it for motivation. Another thing I heard tat is supposed to help with weight loss is to drink 750 ml to 1 liter of cold water first thing in morning - supposed to cause thermogenesis, my husband lost 80 lbs a year ago and has maintained by doing this and other tricks like starting the day with at least 20 grams of protein, it's supposed to kickstart the metabolism for the day and help control cravings during the day.

2fried - thanks for all the motivational sayings

Mccook and Tazzy - thanks for websites

Know I haven't responded to all. If you have a moment today, please remember a little 21/2 year old girl I went to see in the hospital late last evening. She is from the same city as my son and his family, her mom is my DIL's best friend. She has croup that is not responding to treatment, has stopped breathing twice in last 48 hours, airlifted here to Calgary on Friday, in ICU. Parents/family very concerned - doctors not sure why breathing is stopping - yesterday thought they were going to discharge in afternoon and send home with parents, Mom refused and good thing - stopped breathing at 6 pm last evening, would have been in car with parents traveling

recently had a mastectomy. The oncologist I was seeing for my 6 rounds of TCH stated early on that I might need additional chemo once the pathology report was completed. Since then, he stands by that decision. Now for the confusing part. The oncologist I was seeing at the hospital where I had surgery said he wasn't doing anything she wouldn't do. Since then, she left for another position. The oncologist that replaced her is not saying tht additional chemo is not needed. He plans to chat with the other oncologist. Any suggestions?

Hi Blessevery1 - first of all welcome. I'm not sure I understand your question completely so I am asking a few questions, if that's OK?

First - after the TCH, did you continue with Herceptin?

Second - you said that after the pathology (postop) the oncologist had said you might need additional chemo and he stands by that decision - does that mean that, due to the pathology postop, he is now recommending that you have additional chemo? If so, what is he suggesting the chemo regimen be and what is the pathology that indicates to him that you require it?

Is there any plan for radiation therapy - sometimes the pathology indicates this even with mastectomy - could this used as an alternative to additional chemo?

Websister that is so scarry with the little one. I will say a prayer for sure.

Dr Oz is also a big advocate of eating 1 egg a day for  protein, etc. Here is a slide show of "eat yourself skinny" where maybe you can get some ideas http://www.doctoroz.com/slideshow/eat-yourself-skinny   You might also peruse the recipes on his tabs above.  I'm embarrassed to say that I am heading off to have wings with hubby  and family even though I should be making that "lifestyle change " too. But like I said right now my willpower is zilch so for now I'll remain a loyal cheerleader! You guys are going to be so far ahead of me! Keep up that good work.

Ha! That is great work out attire go jane fonda! Believe

Websister - man that is tough! Glad her mom went with her instincts and had her stay. Sending lots of Prayers.

2fried - I read that same article the other day it was a good one. I have been reading a lot on nutrition and cancer. So much information on what to do or not to huh? I wish I had a doctor close by that speciazed in holistic Meds because I would be interested in learning more. I was referred by a friend for one in CO and I might make the trip some day when I can afford it.

Blessever1 like Websister asked those questions there is a lot of reasons and explanations for it I am sure but you are doing the right thing asking questions.

Does any of you feel like after all this crap with have dealt with that there is a good reason to find your purpose? Maybe just me but I am struggling with just wanted to walk out of my career ( except I need health insurance) and just enjoy some time to figure out how to find my happy again. I feel so lost right now and my head constantly spins. Honestly my perfect world would be to pack my bags and travel. Wish I could write well then maybe I could do a travel blog and find a way to support it. Soon I hope because I keep going back to it in my mind. I a, such a nomad all my life and have been stationary here for five years. I guess that happened for a reason because I am 40 minutes from Mayo! If I had taken a new position last year I would have been so far way from my family and friends. Odd how things just work that way.

Well I hope all of you are having a spectular day! I am going to do my stretches and watch some revenge tonight. Maybe while on my treadmill:)

I understand the urge to travel... but what I want is to be taken care of.  To have someone step up and say don't worry about dinner, not even what you want to eat.  I'll take care of it, I'll pay the bills, clean the house, walk the dogs.  You just do whatever you want, or do nothing at all.

But that's not going to happen, so best get busy.

Cindyl- yes I completely understand. hell I thought about moving in with my mom :) just would be nice for someone to take care of us:) why is it BC that makes us realize we don't need or want to be superstars and do it all:)

Some days I just pray for a break from it all so yep I think I can relate a little:( but I don't have kids so I am jealous of those that do so I think I would have made a great mom but I kept thinking I had more time. So guess it wasn't in my cards.

Boy, you girls hit it right on the head, if it wasn't for health insurance!! When customers come in and complain about stupid dumb ass s@#! I feel like saying REALLY!! You MUST be kidding me?!?!?

But like my mom always said when I was growing up "nobody said life was going to be easy."

She must have been prepping me for bc and not even known she was doing so. I guess I should be thanking her for building me up for this journey called life.

Ha! Ireland - I always joke with my friends that I will move in with them and be their nanny. It was just not in my cards:) I love children but now I just will just have to do it in other ways. Can I just borrow them to go to Disneyland:) I have never been and on my bucket list. Our biggest vacation growing up was a road trip to MO so maybe that is why I love to travel so much. My first flight was at the age of 18 and I haven't stopped since.

    Hi ladies,

Spent the weekend looking at wedding veunes for my son for May 2014.  Can you believe some already booked for that memorial day weekend?  Think they found one they will be happy with!  Son left today to go back to school and daughter went to Fla to visit my dad instead of home..so we now back to empty nesters...and now my diet can start in earnest.  Next week I am off to Fla to visit my dad.  SInce i lost my job, i am taking full advantage of being able to visit down there much more often. I am going to walk or swim everyday down there...I promise myself.

Love the workout gear, love the bracelets!! can I order one?, prayers to the little one!  Welcome Bless!, OK, I must be old for the bucket list...but that handpay at the casino was on it..and now done.  Oh by the way, I am buying a lottery ticket for this group!!   Don't think my luck is that good....but if it wins...we are all taking a trip ....to....ARUBA, my heaven on earth!

    Good evening lovelies,

I went shopping for new shoes to get on my ellipitical (i call her bitch or Jillian from the biggest loser). I go tomorrow to the PS to see if he will release me to be able to get on it, since I'm only 4 weeks out post exchange. I went and got fitted for a possible bra because I was not happy about the size of the new girls. Pre-BMX I was a 38 D post exchange I am measuring a 40D. Umm, i only wanted to be a high C but I will take whatever I can get. Some boobs is better than no boobs, I have decided.

Hope everyone is having a great day, going to get ready for bed and go to work in the morning.

To all you without children/ emptynesters: Two teenage boys, good as new ( read never worked much) dont eat much (picky as hell) loyal ( you will always find them right there on the couch) and quiet (brooding) free to good home. Aw hell, you can bring them right back , just take them for the day!

Disney is getting popular! Ireland, lets not quibble over what is the LATE60s ......I am not ready for a bucket list either.

Believe, that picture made my day!

Websister, my heart goes out to that baby and her family. What a scary time.

Off to get ready for first MO followup post treatment ( gulp), after pt and grocery shopping. Now wheres that ativan?

Believe how innovative! Maybe you can be a new trendsetter and start a line of bras to go over shirts etc instead of under them! Some bras are so pretty but cost more than what I'm going to wear over them that it seems like a waste of money. This way though if they are going to be seen then I might have more incentive to buy them! I was looking at your website and just LOVE the bracelets.

Cowpower- you're funny. Since timesharing condos is such a popular thing in Orlando, I used to joke that they should have a set up to include timesharing teens and pets with the condos to make it a real "family vacation"- It would be a break for parents from time to time while enabling empty nesters, etc to enjoy the  attractions like they did in the olden days, only with a temporary family.  LOL Good luck at the Mo.

Wow Aruba since you are on a roll don't give up on your trip to Aruba! While it stinks that you lost your job, it's really nice that it enables you to visit with your dad more often.

Well off to finish taking my decorations down-ugh-has been a very slow process especially feeling crummy with this bronchitis etc. Happy dieting! or to some,  hope your life-style change treats you particularly kind today.
