I think i have settled on a business idea that i could be passionate about.....there is a sleepy little village close by which has just invested and won a major contract for mountainbiking..this should increase tourism by 22000people, i am thinking i could open a cafe which specialises in meeting their dietry needs...eg...green smoothies....bean curries..etc.....i would welcome any feedback! It would be a healthy cafe!! Hopefully attracting others concernred about their diet!

Ireland: for that crowd I think you'd do well.
Ok. Just want to report from the hair thread...
All: those are indeed my lashes. Telling you ... Buy the Brian Joseph's. it's pricy but I'm just finishing my first tube. Wish I had known to use if before they fell out, but seeing as I had them through AC I did think they'd fall out AFTER. but hey, I should stop expecting anything with this disease huh?
Kj: good to know im not the only one growing in straight, thick and yes SOFT SOFT SOFT! Like a baby's hair!!! I like to pet myself. Lol. Friends ask to feel it all the time too. As for that crazy middle stage I'll be in For months....fuck it is what I say. I went topless about five weeks PFC. I don't care anymore. I'm a survivor. This is who I am now. Let the world SEE. I'm alive and to me that makes me just beautiful no matter how my hair looks. It's on top of my head, and as my mother says.... I'm grateful to be on the right side of the grass today!0 -
OMG Ireland....I wish I lived near....we could do it together, If you were willing, of course...lol. As a former dietitian, and also the fact that my brother, who lives in CA,
is an avid mountain biker, and a vegetarian, I think I could be (and will be, if needed)
a great source of information and ideas for you.
I think your idea is fabulous, and I know my brother, for one, would be the first to say that there are not enough places like you are describing for mountain bikers.
If I can be of any help, either through me or my brother, let me know....would be my pleasure.0 -
Ireland. Great idea. Green being the color of the year, Green smoothies would be terrific and healthful too. You could secretly have something pink and yummy to remind you of us! Are you in food service now?
If you are really in Ireland, maybe me could all meet there. Wouldn't that be great. Keep us posted on your progress.0 -
Juneaubugg, I had the yellow walkman, loved it too. I had an 8 track in my room, also. Had Bat out of Hell, too. Sure wasn't 11, though!
I have never seen such cheerleaders as you guys, you are great squad. Back to stomach bug today, so still on the involuntary weight plan. I have first post treatment follwup with MO tomorrow- anxiety ramping up, looks like an ativan in the morning.
Scottie, great idea- I have clothes I coulld follow back for about 80 lbs!0 -
Cowpower....too funny, so start with something 60lbs back.....after you get over your stomach bug, of course....try it....it worked for me everytime 💃💃💃

Juneaubugg.....your beautiful.....stop beating yourself up......love your mother's comment
about being on this side of the grass......this might be my new mantra.0 -
Good Morning Ladies,
So did not work out yesterday but can I count cleaning my house for five hours cuz between the hot flashes and sweating my rear off I think I burned a few calories. Ha! I pulled out my refrig (hard as heck w one good arm) and man that was a project that I should have not started YUK!
I am going to set my goal to bundle up and go outside for a walk. Wish I could take my dogs but they pull too much and I don't want to fall, good thing I have a big back yard and they get some exercise. I am dog sitting for a friend and man his dogs is needy won't leave my side. LOL I fell asleep on my sofa last night and woke up to two dogs fighting me for room. Good thing I have leather sofas!
I really wish I could do yoga because it might help manage this stiffness but pretty limited with shoulder issue but might go to the local studio to check out what I can modify.
Ok I was naughty last night - went to a friends to watch the fb game and had yummy rumchata that is sure to have my daily calories intake in two drinks. Goal is the limit my wine and other cocktails to one or two a week because it is getting too easy to have a glass of wine after work instead of working out. Probably not a good habit to get into.
Yep! I still have that Walkman! I was a runner all through college and up to my late 30's. I had always been able to run distances not fast but just could run. I was back up to 10 miles last jan when I found out about BC then haven't ran until Christmas break. It wasn't pretty but dam I missed it. I really like to run outside or on a treadmil with something to look at like at a gym extra. At home it is so boring but I do have a very nice treadmil I purchased two years ago that has not had much use. My goal is to do the half marathon I did last year during chemo and run it this time. It is in June! So have a little time to train but I need someone to sign up with me? Doesn't have to be the exact race I did but one that is some where fun? Any takers? We can walk or run it?0 -
Ireland- let's us know and we will come visit! Hurry up I need a vacation great idea!

Juneaubugg, you wrote: "I envy you... Enjoying exercise. I hate it. I don't run, nor do I want to. I WANT TO be one of those people who is crazy about exercise, but I'm not sure that's ever going to happen to this girl. So, I certainly don't need a spreadsheet. Lol."
Here's the funny thing. I felt exactly the same way - until 7 years ago when one of my daughters asked me to do a triathlon with her. My response: "I don't run. I don't bike. I don't swim." Her response: "Well, what's the REAL reason you won't do it!" So I started - running, biking, and swimming. And the next year decided that while I didn't much like biking or swimming, I actually DID like running.
I'm not fast (a good race pace for me is 11 minute miles) but I do enjoy the chance to 'be alone inside my head' time I get while running. BTW, I'm 64 years old so for many races, all I have to do is show up and finish and I win my age group:-)

Hi Scottiee1, I will need all the help I can get so I will defo take u up on your kind offer!.... Believe777 I am indeed in Ireland...Co.Down..after all the support and confidence i gained through all you gals , i am would love to play host i'm not in the food industry...in my previous life I was a general manager for a local oil company...who decided to make me redundant just as my treatment was ending!!!! I was the only person selected for redundancy!!!!so I have decided to try my hand at something different...I have an interest in food and know locally here it is impossible to get a healthy veggi meal, I have tried to give up dairy and everytime i go out its either a choice of veggie curry or pizza??? Where as when im cooking at home i try to follow the plant diet which incorporates lots of beans etc...which I think compliments what cyclists eat!!!! Thats my reasoning....just have to make it happwn now!!! Actually scottie1 you have made me think about contacting a dietitian ref menus
I am looking at premises tomoro...so fingers crossed.:)0 -
Huh. I'm just moving into my smallest clothing. Size 18. I've been fat all my life and haven't been smaller much than I am now since the early 80's, sooooo I guess I need to go shoping.

Boy Ireland, you are moving forward ...... Maybe you could start a thread and get recipes from others. If you do, be sure to tell us so we,can add it to our favourites. I will be glad to send you some.
Are you on Facebook? There is a canadian cookbook called looneyspoons. They have good recipes (not vegetarian) but on Facebook, they often post what they are eating that day and often they are veg meals.
Good luck ....0 -
Cindy.....go out and by something gorgeous in a size sixteen and leave it outside your closet, as I said before .....it truly works....BTW...hopefully something on sale....lol

301724-I totally know what you mean although I have never done a triathlon (and am always soooooo impressed when people are able to do it).
I have done 2 marathons with 10 minute miles . Boy do they change your life. My first marathon was soooo life changing because on mile 24.5, I thought I was going to die and I looked on the sidelines and the cheerleading squad that was there was the people that had already passed the finish line. It made me re-evaluate how connected we all are and how much we help each other conquer challenges in life. I can't imagine thinking that I had to go through life alone...see how much all the ladies on this site have helped us with the challenges of "C" and now cheerlead for the WW.
We are either the person facing the challenge or the cheerleaders, sometimes we are both, but in the end we all stand tall together )) whoo hoo!!0 -
Once I shovel my driveway and my back porch and do a few errands I am making oatmeal for the week. Cook enough for 5 breakfasts and put it into 1 cup containers. Last night I made a big salad and it is ready. We all know how to do it .... One of the most important things and they say it over and over at WW is the tracking. Right down everything you eat.

Hi Scottiee1....if ur in Glasgow next year..ur more than welcome ...l'm sort of thinking if I dont move fast ...someone else will....the premises im looking at are opposite what is going to be a hostal...its quite small and has never managed to hit success....although has a fully fitted kitchen! The bikers are supposed to start around march...the majority from ....Scotland!!! My thinking is that if i havent got a place rented before all tthis takes off...I wont get one after!!!!

Well bollox.... I just lost my post - here we go again.
Ireland: go for it I say - great idea. My sister and her DH are vegans and have terrible trouble finding places they can eat out - and they live in London, where you'd think they would have lots of choice.
http://fooddoodles.com/recipes/ this has lots of vegetarian/vegan/healthy recipes.
Scottie: Love the idea of hanging a smaller size outside out closets - will be doing that. I have a beautiful silk trouser suit I had made when I was in Hong Kong and cannot get the trousers done up. Didn't have the heart to chuck it our as I like it too much - even just to look at longingly in my wardrobe remembering how I used to be able to fit into it. I actually wore it when we received our Canadian Citizenship.
mcook: I always include house cleaning as a workout.
Juneau: Like you I have never been a fan of exercise - I am looking into doing yoga again I didn't mind that.
Hugs and love to everyone - and remember "a minute on the lips, a lifetime on the hips".
