Tazzy glad all went well, enjoy your recovery time.

I got the pleasure of spending yesterday at a cancer retreat with my good friend who is in limbo at this time. Enjoyed, sharing, crafting, spa treatments and good food. For the first time since her journey started I saw her actually breakdown multiple times. She had a visit from Palliative care earlier in the week asking difficult questions that she was not ready to talk about. She only wants to think about planning trips with her son. Tuesday she gets a CT to see if radiation has reduced her brain lesions, hoping for miracles.

Going to be a beautiful weekend, got a dumpster so doing some house purging. Everyone enjoy the weekend!

boy Aimee how much are you purging.  You should have a yard sale and save the money for tequila for margaritas and s'mores ...

Lol Jo, you would be amazed at how much junk gets saved "just in case" somone can use it later.  I did a garage sale once, it wasn't worth my effort. Enjoying just pitching it and seeing spaces opening up again.  I will find other ways to pay for my jello shots :)

Hi all. Hope those celebrating had a lovely memorial day weekend. Mine was lovely - although mildly tainted by my 2-year cancerversary. Leaves me feeling mildly anxious. Working hard to shake the feeling. I can so easily remember how I felt this time last year. My husband - in one of his shining moments of brilliance - told me its an anniversary worth forgetting. He reminded me of how far I've come since then. I think he has a point. I'm going to try. Anyway - wishing you all a wonderful and restful night. Hope you're all feeling good.

Tazzy - great news that you are feeling better and home to enjoy your time off!

Ramols - I know what you mean about our Cancerversary in the background. Since forgetting isn't an option - we will just have to enjoy!

My next doctors appt is next Monday - you are all invited. I will blame any weight gain on my wonderful company. Appts still stress me out but I'm most anxious to get it over with.

Aruba celebrated her sons wedding this past week end. We finally had our Easter egg hunt with our grandson. Weather permitted and it was all good. Thankfully we all have more memories to collect and cherish -together.

I am glad you are feeling better Tazzy!  Just remember to not over do it still.

In pockets as needed Tazzy and Believe!

It had been 3 weeks since my surgery and I am still on pain and can't use my shoulder for another week and a half. After that I start PT, but still need to keep it imobalized when not at PT for a couple more weeks. I can't wait to be out of this conyraption, but keep telling myself if I don't obey then I could lose all use of my shoulder which I don't want to happen.

    Hugs to everyone!'nn

Tazzy at least you are having awesome weather for your forced time off! Momof3~~do what you are told and all will work out!

So many anniversaries around this time~~maybe that is why I am not feeling full of energy and good cheer?

But I am off tomorrow to Montana for a retreat that I was nominated for last year by a good friend~~I will be one of 8 women with breast cancer so it should be pretty amazing. Post to come after my return! My DH is picking me up after for a few days of camping in Montana~~any recommendations welcome as we have never been to Montana.

Thanks for the well wishes everyone.   Feeling better each day.  And yes the weather has been beautiful.  Least until today - rained this morning but brightened a bit now.

I did watch a You Tube of the surgery - bloody amazing what they do these days.....and a good reminder of why I feel sore Happy

Only been to Montana when we went to Yellowstone - beautiful State, what I saw of it.  Enjoy Marian....no holding a good girl down eh?

Love and huge hugs to you all xxxxxxxxxxxx

Tazzy - you have to be careful watching those You-tube videos ;) Glad you are getting better everyday and able to enjoy the weather for the most part. We just had two days of rain here but today is bright and sunny

Ramols - know what you mean by cancerversaries, hope you are feeling better about it now.

Believe - definitely with you for your doctors appointment next Monday.

Momof3 - what the others said, you'll be out of that contraption soon but it's doing it's job for now

MarianElizabeth - how nice that you can go on that trip with the other survivors - can't wait to hear about your experience

I also am in appointment mode once again. My cancerversary is June 20th - two years. I saw a plastic surgeon finally today regarding breast reconstruction. Interesting to hear that I don't have enough abdominal fat to do a bilateral reconstruction. (First time I've ever heard a doctor express regret that I was not heavier). What he is suggesting is prophylactic left mastectomy with immediate implant and then DIEP procedure on the right side. I was expecting to have a year or so wait for surgery but he tells me that it will be done within 4 to 6 months - sooner if I need the left mastectomy sooner for the area they are watching.

This upcoming Monday I will see my radiation oncologist again and then the one I would really like some pocket partners for is the mammogram on the left breast on June 9th. Two years ago on June 8th was my mammogram/US/biopsy that started me on this road so it is a little close in dates. I am hoping the area of microcalcifications they are watching will be smaller or no change but it is a little unnerving going back every six months for a mammogram.

    Take care everyone

Websister - I will definitely be in your pocket June 9th and all the other days as well. I get so nervous for my mammos and I haven't had anything found and can only imagine how I would be if they were watching anything!  I have actually had to move my mammo out since my shoulder surgery since I can't move my shoulder now. I just hope I will be able to have it June 24. Let us know how everything turns out.

    Hugs to Everyone!!!!!

Websister - yuk. This Merry go round ride is getting tiring, the waiting in line doesn't make it any easier. I wish I could donate some of my fat. With you at all your upcoming appts. Our pocket parties make them bearable. One time I went alone and got called back. Sending lots of positive energy.

Tazzy - garden away!  I love UTube as well - dirt - not so much.

Momof3 - wear that thing!  Maybe after it's done you can burn it but for now, let it do it's job. You are really due for a long doctor less vacation.

KarenZ - love the saying. My finger nails are my best feature.

2FriedEggs - if you are reading - hope all is falling into place with your DH.

The good part about cancerversaries is that they are behind us and we all still here!

    Hugs to all.

OMG - I'm so discombobulated I posted this in 2012 sisters first....  haha.

    ----------------------

Hi ladies! Sorry I've been absent, but I have been reading.

    Tazzy; hope you're mending well.

websister; I have some excess belly blubber for you as well.

marianeliz; montana is beautiful - hope your enjoying your retreat. I remember when you were selected. (Wow time goes fast!)

ramols: I miss you - let's meet up again SOON!

    aruba; wedding photos please!?

    my
anniversary came and went. my surgery anniversary is coming on the
26th. I bought tickets to go see Peter Frampton and the Doobie Bros
with my DH. :-) Anything is better then dwelling, right. Hopefully
they haven't lost their voices!! Then off to the Outer Banks on holiday
    for the july 4th week.

So I officially HATE MY JOB! I hate my
new boss and last week they relocated my seat into a shared room with
this guy I very much dislike (I thin the feeling is mutual). AND I got
my rveiew and with it a 1.69% raise (after 18 months here - my first
raise, what a joke!). I am now very actively searching for a new job.
    I'm pretty much done here.

The goods news is that a new job might
bring a raise because this house needs new siding and windows and it may
be a bit more then we thought initially!

I miss my ladies.... let's make a date.... Wednesday nights?? What do you say??

This was from my MIL... LOL!  Had to share with you all:

    DO
NOT wash your hair in the shower!!

    It's
so good to finally get a health warning that
    is

    useful!!!

    IT
INVOLVES THE SHAMPOO WHEN IT RUNS DOWN YOUR BODY WHEN
    YOU

    SHOWER
WITH IT. WARNING TO US ALL!!!

    Shampoo
    Warning! I don't know WHY I didn't
    figure

    this
out sooner! I use shampoo in the shower! When I wash
    my

    hair,
the shampoo runs down my whole body, and printed
    very

    clearly
on the shampoo label is this warning,
    "FOR

    EXTRA
    BODY AND VOLUME."

    No
wonder I have been gaining weight! Well! I got rid
    of

    that
shampoo and I am going to start showering with
    Dawn

    Dishwashing
Soap. It's label reads, "DISSOLVES FAT

    THAT
    IS OTHERWISE DIFFICULT TO REMOVE."

    Problem
solved! If I don't answer the phone, I'll bein
    the
    shower!

You made me laugh and I rally needed it!!!!!!!  Sorry about your work situation and am hoping you find something better soon!!!!!!!!!  Where in theOuter  Banks are you going?  That is where our house is and we may be down there also in July.

    Hugs to everyone!!!!!!

Juneau - thanks for the shower update. I think we all needed a laugh today.  I found 5 lbs in the last 6 months. Now I know why..,

Momof3 - more positive thoughts for your DD!  So scary, especially when our kids are involved.

Thank you for your company on my doctors appt today. We had a lot of time to visit. She was running really behind. My blood work passed but I finally told her about the pain on my effected side. She measured my right and left upper arms and it seems my effected side is 1 1/2 inches bigger. I meet with a physical therapist on July 1st for exercises and to be measured for a sleeve. I hope they come in colors!  If not I will add some sparkle and bling.  She also wrote a prescription for neuropathy. It's also an anti depressant. I told her I wasn't depressed but I got the pills anyway... So I left depressed... Until tomorrow since I will take a pill tonight. I hope they work. I was actually thinking my heart was having issues since my left arm has been bothering me for months. Affected side is still swollen (after 2 years and radiation) not fun but she didn't say anything about the cancer being back. She also sent me in for a new mammogram. Now I get to wait for those results ... Depression sounds like its in the cards, but now I have pills.

Thanks again for your company, it would have been unbearable without you!  Thanks for listening ...

believe - Sorry to hear about your issues. I am surprised that they aren't starting your PT until July. I hope it helps you out!!!!!!!! I am also in pockets where needed.

Thanks for the well wishes for my DD. She is doing better tonight, but based on what the doctor told me last time we were there we will be starting from scratch again with a new medicine. We have been doing this with her for over 3 years now and it is so hard to see her going through all this. She is getting ready to graduate from 8th grade and has lots of fun activities coming up the next couple weeks and I hope that she is ok and can enjoy them all!!!!!!!

    Hugs to everyone!!!!!

Juneau - so good to hear from you, laughed at the misplaced post and the shower story. Wednesdays it is!

Believe - glad we could be there with you at your appointment, it does seem a while to wait  for PT and sleeve. There is truncal lymphedema that they should also be considering if you are still experiencing swelling on affected side - ask PT what they think when you see them, there are compression garments for that also. Let us know when the mammogram is so we can be there for that also

Aruba - agree re: pictures when you get a few moments - I would love to see

Momof3 - so hard with your DD, sending hugs, hope they can figure out the medication for her

I had my RO appointment today, she is officially discharging me as her patient, nice visit and she is pleased with how my skin has healed, she was hoping that I might get away with an implant on that side also but the PS advised against.

    Take care everyone

Crap, crap crap - post lost.

Juneau: lmfao about the shower joke.   Good luck job hunting - we spend too long at work to hate it.   We have a date for Wednesday.

Believe: sorry you are experiencing issues.   Hopefully PT can fix you.  That's what my PT said to me - "we can fix you".  Seems I have a lot of scar tissues under and around the armpit area which is causing the LE.    Unfortunately not been for the past 2 weeks since I've been recovering and she works at the same hospital as me - which is really convenient.

Hugs and love to all xxxxxxxx

Aruba - love your photo :-) I will work on a new photo too, that's a good idea  for all of us -  although I haven't dressed up in ages.

Websister - I tried for an earlier pt appt but they are booked up. I added my name to a cancellation list, just in case.

Tazzy - I hope I get an optimistic pt person - just like yours!

Beautiful Aruba - all of you.

Believe: if she/he isn't as optimistic - ask them why.    Even if they cant 'fix' us just hearing those words lift our spirits.

Off for my follow up appt. with the surgeon today - then off to get a haircut and hit the malls... see if they have any summer sales on, plus I haven't been shopping for 2 weeks Smile
