Well - I got a call back on yesterday's mammogram. Need to schedule another pocket party for tomorrow - sorry for the short notice! They told me to set aside 2 hours for another mammogram and ultra sound. This is on my other breast. Knowing you will be with me will make this bearable. Keeping lots of positive thoughts. Never a dull moment.

My appt today is over! Big sigh of relief. They didn't find anything they wanted to stick a needle into... I have to go back in 6 months. I didn't ask a lot of questions, I wanted to just run before they changed their mind. I'm seeing a pattern here. They do a mammogram and then follow up with ultra sounds. Maybe this is just our new normal.
Thank you all for your company!!! I really appreciate your love and support.

believe I'm happy dancing for you, also! Yaaaay!!
Aruba, your family is beautiful. What a great picture!
I'll ask for a pocket party myself on the 16th. I had my follow up visit with my MO & BS a week ago for the shingles/ cellulitis hospitalization. Started back on the Tamo, no big surprise there. Today felt like one big hot flash (shit!!). My BS said I can't keep getting cellulitis and being hospitalized. There's a chance for sepsis and she wanted me to meet with a PS to discuss a mastectomy with reconstruction/tummy tuck (DIEP flap surgery) and reduction on my right side. Of course I got online to look up DIEP procedure. It looks like they cut your body in half when they do the tummy tuck for God"s sake! Then I doubt they would fix my other side at the same time which means another procedure later. Talk about depressing!

Swgee - There is a really good DIEP thread on here. Liefie had it done. Go on there and hash it out with them. They can give you some good advice and pointers. Check out the surgeon's reputation. Is a major surgery so you want someone who has done bunches with success. Don't know why they couldn't do both sides at the same time. They do bilat. DIEP at the same time I think. Again another good question for the DIEP gals.
Another thing to consider. Do you have an infectious disease doc who treats your cellulitis? If not it could be another avenue to explore. Be thinking about you as you make your decision.

thanks luvmygoats! I had breast reduction surgery in 08 and my BS thinks my lymph channels in my breast have had this triple whammy (surgery, surgery, radiation) and they can't handle the lymph fluid. I know they consulted inf. docs both times I was in the hops.it's just all so overwhelming. My DH has MS and he's been falling a lot lately and our house feels like it's doubled in size in the past year! My sisters said they'd come help which is nice, but it's not the way I wanted to spend the summer, especially after this winter! I need to be recovered in time for school to start back up in September , tho.

Hi All - I've been terrible at posting and sending hugs and jumping in pockets where needed - but I'm always in those pockets when needed. I likely haven't posted lately because life has been good and busy. OT is doing wonders for my shoulder, ribs, etc. I feel like I finally found someone who knows exactly what I'm talking about - and what to do to fix it. So all has been well and I haven't felt a need to post (although I'm always popping in to read and see how you all are doing). So - since it is Wednesday (Juneau and I now have something to complain about - here I am... Had my annual appt with my gyn today - which as much as I love him, gives me great anxiety since he found my lump. Today is exactly 2 years to the day of my mammo/sono. Anyway - my appt was just fine except for the pelvic sono they did. I think pelvic sonos are standard of care as far as he is concerned for BC patients - especially when you're pre-menopausal and on tamoxifen. So while my lining and all the things they worry about appear to be behaving fine - my ovaries apparently are not playing by the rules. They seem to be covered in cysts - those bad ovaries! He said that when you're on tamoxifen, your ovaries are usually good with no issues - they don't expect to see activity. So there I was thinking to myself - ok, he is telling me he's not worried and we just need to keep an eye on things - no big deal, i can handle this. Then he tells me we need to recheck them in 6 weeks. I was figuring 6 months. 6 weeks threw me for a loop. While he wouldn't commit to an answer - I think he's going to suggest I get an oopha when I go back in 6 weeks regardless of what the scan shows. Forced menopause at 39 - lovely... Sigh... Anyway - I'll take it one day at a time - as we've all had to learn to do - and not worry about it until he gives me something to worry about. Hope you're all doing well. Love and hugs to all. And Juneau - i miss you too - lets do a visit soon!

Wow, I can't believe it's been over a year since I posted on here. Seems like life with my 2 little ones has me going 100 miles an hour with no end in sight, but I am so grateful to be able to be here with them so I WILL TAKE IT!
I miss all of you and think about your support through everything almost daily. It's so great to see so many familiar names still.
Love you all.

Ramols - nice to see you posting. We all know where to run when we hit a bump in the road. What a wonderful group of women we can call our friends. Follow up appts are stressful but it just shows that someone is watching out for us and has our best interests in their minds. One day at a time sounds like the perfect strategy.
Swgee - another bump in our road to recovery. So sorry we are finding challenges, the good thing is that we are still here.
Websister - I think everyone else is on a year check in schedule. How did we get so lucky to be on the 6 month list. At least we are in good company.
Scottie - Jazz is adorable. My poodles live until they are in their 20's. Wishing you many years of juicy licks! Will he remain black or turn silver? Liberty is my 4th poodle.
My pt appt got moved up to June 9th. Being on the cancellation list worked. She told me to plan on a 45 minute appt. I thought I was going in to just get measured for a sleeve. Anxious to see what can be done.
Tballmom - we don't all post as often as we did but we do our best to keep in touch and know to turn when we need some hugs and encouragement. Appointments are always less stressful when our pockets are full.
Juneau - you missed your Wednesday check in. Sorry about your tv that I saw cracked on FB. I don't suppose a warranty would cover drops. Isn't home ownership fun? Good luck in your job search.

argh - i just lost my post for you believe... I was sharing some information about sleeves. I'll try again... If you're looking for fancier, have your LE therapist show you the Juzo ones. They come in some colorful patterns. I got a black one with white swirls on it as my fancier one rather than just the medical beige. You can also check out lymphedivas - as they have an array of patterns and funky options. But there is disagreement in the LE world about whether or not they are as effective as the regular brands. So talk to your therapist. And make sure to ask them about getting a gauntlet or glove in addition to the sleeve - as just arm compression without hand compression can cause hand swelling. And if they suggest a nightsleeve and you're not opposed to spending some money - check out the Solaris Tribute. I LOVE mine! It's like a gigantic arm-length oven mitt that provides some serious compression and is easy and comfortable to sleep with. And most of all - do all the exercises as regularly as you can. They work! Good luck and PM me if you have any questions.

Ramols - thank you so much! I will check out the sites in advance. Are you wearing a sleeve 24/7? I thought Christy said she wears hers about 12 hours a day. I'm wishing it wasn't summer. Oh well. I'm sorry I didn't ask my mo earlier the right questions. Better late than never to get the relief I need. Thank you again.
