Happy Hump Day!  Happy Birthday and retirement Scottie. Good news momof3. I wouldn't take a daughter to a mammo appt. maybe it was good that I have 3 sons. Aruba - happy travels.

Juneau - how was that interview?  I'm sure they will love you.

Hugs to everyone. In pockets with cookies wherever and whenever I'm needed. Wonderful that we never need to travel alone.

Yes Tazzy, the sun in shinning beautifully here too.

Aruba hasn't spilled the beans but we are getting together on Jan 1st, 2015. I'm so excited, can't wait...

interview was great. They don't have a position for me (which I knew) but he's trying to create one.  He really wants to bring me onboard.

On another note....2 years ago to the minute I was in a gown, crying quietly whilst waiting to have my right breast removed. I had no idea what would come after. Drains, fills, chemo... Or you guys. Thank you ladies for not making me walk through it all alone! I love you all.

Juneau:  fingers & toes crossed that the new job will materialise soon.   Yes, it is hard to believe how far we have come.  And yes, how grateful not to have had to do it alone and what great connections we have with our virtual friends.

It is Canada Day here on Tuesday so I have taken off Monday.   Cannot wait for 4 days off and then a 3 day week next week.   DH working Monday so I intend having a spring clean.    Have beautiful wonderful weekends ladies. xxx

Stopping to in say hi. I've been busy working on my photos and writing for the blog. Feeling better than I have in months. Scans on the 21st. I did get switched from carboplatin to cisplatin this last round. the carbo kept wiping out my platelets each time. Keep on living girls.

Lostinmo - beautiful photo.  Funny that it follows my dentists joke. It seemed funnier the day I posted it, I must have been delusional after my 2 hour dentist appt.

Happy 4th of July to all in the US.

    Hugs

Thanks, tazzy. i wish i would have found you guys in the beginning. actually, i think  i might have, but at that time i was the proverbial basket case, and had no idea that i could add topics to my favorites. completely ignored that part! i do hope that evry one is doing all right, and recovering from treatments, etc.... i just wanted to let you guys know i was here, and getting ready to read from page one, so i could get to know you all, and try to catch up. so thanks for welcoming me, and i am looking forward to getting to know all of the women on this thread. i may or may not be dealing with a recurrence.

welcome kathec. Start on the 2012 sisters thread.  That's where we all met. 😃. Then we moved here as we moved out of active treatment and into survivor status.

Vacation ends tomorrow morning with a 12 hour drive home to NJ from the OBX, NC.  HURRICANE ARTHUR managed to ruin the fireworks so this was a year without  the Big Bang!!  Oh well.  Great trip.  Time with family. Hoped to see momof3; just texted her. But she just got here yesterday I think. Oh well. Back to work mo day and the job search.  I ate WAY too much junk food and must have gained ten pounds!  I hurt my SI last week and am not allowed to exercise. In fact, right now walking hurts and I'm in physical therapy for it! *sigh*.

Anyway. Here I am with my beautiful sister (center) and my niece. I got lots of freaking curls these days!

It's growing out finally!!! Almost 18 months with no haircut. Growing slowly!!!

Juneau - wonderful pictures!  Always good to see your smiling face. My hair is about the same length as yours. I wish it would grow quicker. We are on opposite coasts. It's really cool here in Monterey- highs in the 60's. It's a nice break after Sacramento.

Kathec - welcome!  I'm in CA too. I grew up in the LA area but we live in Sacramento now. Nice to meet you! You will have a lot of reading to do if you start at our beginning. Have fun!

Aruba - after the dolphins - I hope you have time for some jewelry stores in St. Thomas. A 30th anniversary is really something to celebrate and a trinket would be a nice touch! Have fun.

Kathc - yes, you do have a lot of reading to do.   But I hope you can get inspiration from it .   We all started off as basket cases and hugged, cried, screamed, ranted and raved our way through.  These wonderful ladies were my sanity Happy

    Looking good Juneau.

Another hot day here today - only 10am and already 25 degrees (about 77 degrees) not that I'm complaining.

    Have a wonderful Sunday xxxxxxxxx

Juneau, love the photos, you all look wonderful and happy.

lostinmo thanks for posting the blog again~~so much appreciated.

I am back training for the short course triathlon July 27 this year and it will be just about 2 years from dx. It is 3 weeks from today and this year both my youngest son and my daughter will do with slowly with me and my DH will be our cheerleader.

What a day since my Post yesterday..Car accident this morning. A guy turning left pulled right in front of me as I went through intersection.  He went in ambulance for neck pain. I had mild headache so went to ER in afternoon. CT scan all clear. Thank God my dad was not in car with me...reminded again that life can change in a split second.  Now to get dad set up with a car so I can float on a boat!!

Aruba......car accidents are scary.....I had the same thing happen to me many many years ago and the guy went to the hospital in an ambulance also.  However, he discharged himself later. It took me a couple of weeks to get behind the wheel again.  My carwas a right off but I only sustained cuts and bruises. I'm happy you are ok....thank God.

Welcome to all newcomers here....great place to be for advice and support.

Can't believe out GTG at Jo's cottage will begin on Friday!!!.....I'm soooo excited.....6 women at a cottage!!!!

There will be tales to tell....haha

Aruba, other driver's are a problem! glad you are ok, yeah life can change in a minute,so we do have to live it up!  Scottie, cottage get together sounds like a lot of fun, will you post pics? marianelizabeth, great shirt, and good for you and the marathon, wow, i havent ran in about five years, very inspiring of you! They have been watching this spot near scar for a while, no biopsiy yet, but i will do a follow-up pet/ct scan in a week. i am more concerned about whatthe heck is going on with my armpit/shoulder. i do have some nodes left that are very swollen that they did biopsy, and they are ok, but why are they so swollen this far out? and it seems there is a hard lump deep in my axilla too that i can feel. so i have been going thru med papers because of a grievance against my old b.s., and i guess i never read my after surgery path report that closely. i did yesterday, and was startled to discover that one of the nodes was completely taken over by tumor, and was larger than the one in my breast, at 2.5 cm! and another one almost that big! Ewwww!  it has always freaked me out that it was so extensively in my nodes, i don't think i have seen anywhere on bco with any one with so many, so any time i have a problem in that quadrant, i do have a tendency to worry a little. even some of the stage 4 ladies don't have that many positive nodes...

i havent done on the catching up reading on the 2012 sisters thread yet, or here yet, but randomly reading here and there, it looks like every body is doing pretty well! and i am glad to see that.

kathec, I don't run so don't get inspired by that~~I do walk 5 k several times a week and was lucky when diagnosed that I had just finished a high altitude trek in Nepal. I did trek again in the spring and am leading another in October so no rest for this wicked sister! But let me say that I do go slowly. I just came in from a 32 bike ride with a seniors' group and at 65 I was way the youngest but it was enjoyable because it was slow!

Hi, I saw my surgeon last week and he will not do anything about the complex cyst I have that is located right next to where the cancer was. It was there before surgery but he didn't do anything then so didn't think he would this time either. New Oncologist wanted it removed so I guess I will see what he says when I see him in Sept.

The surgeon also did not recommend I remove my ovaries ( I am 45) he says excess fat causes more of a chance of reoccurrence then the ovaries do as fat produces more estrogen then the ovaries. This seemed a little far fetched to me, but has anyone else heard of this?

ndgrr.....I was told that if you are pre-menopausal most of your estrogen is stored in the ovaries but that after menopause, it is stored in adipose tissue.
