Mcook, I have had cortisone injections in my hip. They numb you first and feels pretty good right after. Then I go through an achey phase. Then it feels better. Takes about a week, for me to go through the phases. Don't try to do anything ambitious when it feels good or you will pay for it around day 3. As far as the LE - I had some trigger point injections in my neck and shoulder and it didn't affect my truncal LE. But that is not saying it won't happen. If it does, get to your LE therapist to take care of it quickly.

But beer doesn't have any fat in it - surely that counts for something - hee hee!!
Busy day at work - pretty tired now.
Peace love & hugs to all xxxxxxxx

Ha! I feel guilty hearing that everyone is on their bitch! I just rolled in from work and can't muster the energy tonight. But you guys have motivated me to do some stretches And strength things:) maybe some day the back of my arms won't continue to keep jiggling like jello!
Keep it up ladies! Short weather is coming up and last year we spent out summers dealing w treatments etc time to have some fun!0 -
What is your favorite work out song? Mine has been lately "stronger" by Kelly clarkson but my go to is a little flashback to the eighties like the gogo's or acdc

She was half in the bag when I got there so I threw the rest of her in!

Well I salute you all working on the 'bitch'. I got in from work and felt too tired to even cook... so we have a dinner I made earlier which was in the freezer.
0 -
Tazzy, you are officially excused as long as there was no beer involved with dinner...hehehe

mcook- I listen to just about everything. country, pop, rock. But I have found that reading my nook while working out is better for me.
karen- that's funny!
Tazzy-get some rest! Tomorrow you can bust your butt working out.
Scottie- I'm not going to live this one down am I? It was only a 1/2 beer, I would love a gallon of ice cream chocolate or vanilla. But I will pass on this though.

Well Ladies have a fabulous night and thanks to all you who commented and gave advice about my shoulder on going issue:) I am heading to Iowa tomorrow to give some talks at the state capital .. Dam some times it feels good to be back at work and feel some normalcy but then again how I am going to answer all the questions about my hair and absences to the group I will be working with will be a little challenge tomorrow. Guess I will just be honest might make some uncomfortable but oh well I am still just me but better:)

So excited! Just got one if those genetic post cards after my first mammogram since surgery May 1st. It said my mammogram showed no signs of Breast Cancer. That made my day and had to share my great news!
I traded the Beast for a movie and popcorn today. Tomorrow I will walk twice as long. Tonight I celebrate!0 -
Believe.....wonderful news....congrats....a good trade tonight. I hope I can post good news on Wednesday. I will go for my results ....yikes

Chrisrenee I have had a hard time getting into this lifestyle change (as Juneau puts it)that you are all undertaking. However your beer modifications are really starting to give me the incentive I need to join in! Scotties dark chocolate might really help me too!

I have thoroughly enjoyed catching up on this thread this evening.
I have also learned that I better be careful what I post on other threads
Believe - congratulations
McCook - have a great trip and good luck with the cortisone shot, I hope it provides some relief for you
Scottie - can't wait to celebrate with you on Wednesday - and it won't be with a celery stick
Tazzy - do you get a day off tomorrow or are you back to every day this week?
I saw my oncologist today, passed my MUGA scan, failed my hemoglobin test - glad it was the hemoglobin and not heart that was causing my tiredness and shortness of breath, she says it will take about three months before it returns to normal. She wants me to start my tamoxifen this evening, a little apprehensive but I will do it. Maybe I should have a beer for courage? What do you think, Scottie?
Went to an information gathering evening tonight for the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation - met some amazing ladies, very thought provoking evening, lots of good discussions, glad I went.
Goodnight everyone0 -
OMG! I cannot BELIEVE I've missed this thread until now!!!
I have just spent over an hour reading 34 pages of posts....
So happy to see familiar faces here...
Can I join the club? Dx and BMX in 2011, Exchange in 2012, Surviving in 2013!!!!
I've also had some good success with weight loss this year (blabbed about it on a thousand other threads) but since I haven't been able to exercise since last AUGUST (long story) the scale is now moving in the wrong direction.
Anyway, just wanted to say HI!!!!!
xoxo

OMG I am Irish Catholic by background and therefore have an eternal need to confess. I just stated on another thread I was having a glass of wine to unwind after a School Board meeting. I am on the board, so sometimes the meetings are stressful. Scottie, I now know that eyes are on us always; am putting down wine glass and making chamomile tea:) nite all!

Blessings, welcome here. Of course you can join us! We are having a blast as you can see.
Websister, so glad it is the hemoglobin and not the heart. It is much easer to fix than a heart problem! I also have a few appointments coming up after a long time of not seeing any drs - the less I see of them, the better, I figure. Will see the gyneacologist, have a mammogram of the healthy breast(so not looking forward!), have bloodwork done, and see the PS about the reconstruction surgery. Hope the Tamoxifen works well for you. Other than a few hot flushes daily, I have no problems on it.
Today I've been very good as far as eating is concerned. Wrote down what I ate as well as the calories in everything. Also exercised as I am supposed to. Tomorrow bright and early I'll be in the pool for aquafit, and also plan to take the dog for a run later. Just hope I can stay on track now, and not shoot myself in the foot again. There is a reason why they say the road to hell is paved with good intentions. Lol.

Websister so glad your heart is ok. Hope you have no se's from the tamoxifen.I was apprehensive about starting my al but thankgoodness no se's. (well maybe a little insomnia which is why I'm on here at 3:00am lol) But now I do feel good about taking it as a preventative .
Blessings Welcome. So glad you found us. We could use a living barometer on this thread!
Cowpower good thing you fessed up! It's better to fess up before you're caught lol
Liefie Good luck with all your Drs appts. It's nice when you get those little longer breaks in between visits now isn't it; almost makes you feel normal. Geez though sounds like you've been behaving diet and exercise wise- You're not hiding anything on the other threads are you because if you are, you better fess up now like Cowpower before "someone" finds out! Lol

Websister .....so glad about your results...we have enough issues without having to worry
about our hearts!!!
Blessings...welcome to our group...congrats on all that weight loss....can you at least take a short walk daily....according to the experts, it is one of the best excersises for our body.
Cowpower....they say confession is good for the soul.....around here It is good for Scottie so you are absolved of your "crime".....lol
Gals I'm really enjoying all this power but as Joanne says, I have to remember I'm a cheerleader not a trainer....will try to do better...lol. however......the eyes of Scottie are upon you all....be careful what and where you post 👀. remember I got busted for my
chocolate confession.
PS....I hope these big cute pockets are still available for tomorrow. I hope you are all coming with me for my mammo and u/s results ....I'm nervous already and it's only Tuesday.....wonder if I can find a thread where you won't find me to confess my need for chocolate today and tomorrow????0 -
Scottie, absolution feels wonderful. I will try and stop hanging aroun on other threads and stay on the straight and narrow. I will be there with you for results, and I will bring you chocolate.
Websister, so glad about your MUGA results. They are a nerve wracking wait for results. Glad it was a fixable issue. Looks like you might need more spinach in those smoothies- just dont forget to draw the curtains if its really early:)0 -
Cowpower.....thank you .......chocolate is my passion but since BC I eat only the 98%
pure organic....not quite the same as a big bar of milk chocolate....lol...It tastes almost like baking chocolate but I keep telling myself it's full of anti-oxidants which are good for us....maybe if I get good results tomorrow I will treat myself to a good old fashioned bar of milk chocolate.....OMG....can't believe I'm discussing chocolate here.....I'm so going to hear about this.....lol0 -
Forgot how bad sugar/carb withdrawls are...don't cross me today... you will get a surprise.. this nice nice Grammie might not be so nice...
