Tazzy and Blessings, love the cartoons.

Scottiee, good luck today, there with you also.

Juneaubugg, you are very funny and extremely busy. You need to take some time for yourself too....I also understand the weight loss struggle. I used to never have a weight problem until chemo and now I am stuggling to lose the weight I gained in chemo.

I hope everyone has a wonderful Wednesday!!

Good Morning Ladies!  Wow!  This is the busiest, most fun thread.  Back from vacation and one day in at work.  Like Scottiee, (in your pocket BTW) I may have to retire to stay on top of what goes on here.

Playtime is over and now I have to get serious about the lifestyle correction stuff.  No more beer, bacon or desserts for me.  I have to admit, I did over-indulge on vacation, but it was there...had to enjoy it.

Great to see everyone here and welcome to the newcomers.  Have a great day.

Believe... When I saw this offer today I thought not a bad price for 6- but thought too bad they weren't front fasten and that there weren't 7 instead of 6, so you could put a different color over your workout clothes everyday to spice up your exercisewear! lol

tazzy - my boys gave me my happy first thing this morning, with homemade birthday cards and a big old hug where they both said happy birthday to me. Last year, my littlest one wasn't talking yet - so to realize that I am alive and able to hear that precious little voice say "happy birthday mommy" is about the best gift I could ask for. Annoyed with my life and appt schedule right now? Sure. Thankful beyond words to be here to celebrate another birthday and hug my boys? ABSOLUTELY! Go find your happy today ladies. It's out there waiting for you somewhere...

Welcome and happy birthday melissa! Gotta love a fellow capricorn!

Melissa; where do you live. not too far away from me if you're going to AC for the weekend. (funny - AC hasn't meant Atlantic City in a very long time...  nice to get that chemo acronym out of my head!)

Tazzy; I've had that cartoon printed at my desk for over 5 years.... always makes me laugh. Glad someone animated it!

Websister: I like your shortcut ideas, however having chrons disease means that I can't really eat too much raw produce. Too much fiber and you don't want to know what happens if I have a flare up.  So I have to steam things. I steam brussel sprouts and carrots to snack on at my desk if I'm really starving.  I have also been tracking/logging my calories for the past 3 weeks diligently. I have gone over by about 1-200 a day, but they have me 1170 so I should still be losing SOMETHING. I'll keep chugging away taking the right action, hoping to lose this weight..., eventually my body will have to follow me.

Chrisrenee; good for you making strides (like that one) on jillian.  Cutting down your time is great!  Is she a treadmill or elliptical?? I'm hoping tonight to get time on my bitch.  No 12 step meetings, or any other plans.  Home to make sinner, workout and go to sleep. Spoke at a meeting about an hour away last night an with the snow that started coming down late night slowing our trip home, my head didn't hit my pillow until after 1:00 am.

2Fried: I would have had your hot toddy.  I was a total whiskey drinker.  My dad loves his single malts and so did I.  When we were in Edinburgh we made sure to make a trip to a local distillery just outside the city. My step mother wasn't too keen, but we just sipped our samplers... great memory.

In fact all your talk about drinking leaves me a bit jealous at times - but at least I'm not battling all those empty calories!!!

So I guess this is where I should apologize to any I offended with my use of the "Fbomb" but as you can see - it's one of my favorite words!  I'm not alone in this... this video is a must see.... http://youtu.be/LfIlPV3Xs94: my personal favorite, "why dont you go outside and play hide and go fuck yourself, lmfao".

So today I go to the dermatologist during my lunch hour for my annual mole check!  Oh joy.  Last time I saw her was an emergency visit one week PFC in October to lance a JUST popped golf ball sized boil off of my ass!  That was my final gift from the chemo SE gods.  Three weeks before it was thrush.

Someone I'm close to but haven't seen in a long time asked me last night, "how bad was it". He's the first person to come right out and ask. It was refreshing. I told him the truth... it was a living nightmare for me.  If I have to do it again, I don't think I will.  My husband chimed in with something like, well isn't it like childbirth - the further you get away from it the less painful it will be in your memory.  My response... No, no it's not. Not for me anyway. Maybe for some of you. I know people say that it fades, but I will NEVER forget the night I spent in North Carolina at my in-laws, 1 week after my 3rd treatment LITERALLY wishing I could just cease existing at that moment. I was just in THAT MUCH physical discomfort.  I was a bit upset that my husband tried to speak for me on how I will remember it, until I realized he was 1) speaking for himself and 2) hoping, for my sake, that the memory of the pain would lessen. It must have been so hard for him to WATCH me go through it. I forget that sometimes. That this didn't just happen to ME, it has happened to US.  Cancer is so similar to addiction in that regard.  It's a FAMILY DISEASE. No one is left untouched by it.

Speaking of - my DH goes to Maine Friday. His mom grew up there and he's meeting her, and his two siblings there (they all live in Wilmington North Carolina), as well as his uncle who is flying in from Oregon - so they can spend some time with, and say goodbye to his aunt.  She is the oldest sibling of his mom/uncle and is dying; lung cancer with mets.  She was only diagnosed a month ago.  She smoked (still does I am guessing) about 2 packs a day for as long as he can remember.  In fact I got to know her really well because at our rehearsal dinner/wedding I was outside with HER smoking half the time. (I smoked 2 1/2 packs/day from the age of 10 - 42.  It's been 2 1/2 years for me. I went to a pulmonolgist and ear, nose, throat last January to make sure throat/lung cancer weren't going to take ME out - like my paternal grandfather.  Then I got BC.  *sigh* - Gods got a sense of humor Ay?)  Anyway - I digress... so they are meeting so she can say goodbye to everyone before she's too sick to enjoy the time with them. I can't go having just started this job, but it breaks my heart.  I HATE THIS FUCKING DISEASE in ALL FORMS it takes.  It's insidious... and it SUCKS.  So here's my motto for today... FUCK YOU CANCER!!!

Love to you all ~ and in the words of our resident ray of sunshine... (Ramols) - please go find your happy today.  I already did, right here in our little forum.  Thanks for the love and support...

    GmaFoley,

Just wanted to say that I am too a diet coke addict. I believe I drink 15 cans or more per day and know it has no value at all that's why it is addictive for me, lol. However, another positive from this chemo may be that my tastes are changing and the diet coke doesn't taste as good. I can only hope it will continue. Now I do drink my water, before chemo about 2 qts a day but have amped it way up. Good luck with the withdrawals.

Ramols, happy birthday to you! I hope you get spoiled rotten today - you certainly deserve it!

Have to run. I've decided that seeing that I don't work, my new job is to exercise. So off to the pool. See you all later.

Needless to say my birthday last year was full of anxiety and worry so not much celebrating!

Juneaubug- I am from woodland park(formerly west Paterson). If u don't know the are much I am near Wayne. Not far from AC( Atlantic city!)

    With you, Scottie

Ramols - Happy Birthday! - here's another quote that was posted just the other day by a store here that specializes in women with cancer and their needs -

When life gives you one hundred reasons to cry, give life one thousand reasons to smile

I am waiting patiently for grandchildren myself, but since neither one of my boys is in a serious relationship (they are 26 and 29) hmmm, what are the chances.....lol. I guess I don't have to tell you to spend and enjoy every minute you can with your grandchild....soooo

Ramols, Happy Birthday! Mine is Sat with Melissa. Last Year I got a double core biopsy. This year I will settle for a piece of cake. I really had doubts about being here with my kids also. I was very worried about my younger son celebrating his 16 th birthday alone as he was born on my 36 th and we love to share the day. How sweet for you to have that little one give you his wishes:) It squeezes my heart to think about it.

Scottie, I am getting ready to jump in the pockets. Will be needing my snow gear today. We are having a few inches this pm.

Juneau, I agree- it was pretty damn bad, wasn't it?

Juneau- That is my favorite word as well, Or MF'er. My hubby says I cuss like a sailor and that I can make grown men blush. Oh well that's my favorite pasttime is cussing. If you don't want to hear certain words, stay away from me at basketball games. Embarassed I have been known to be ejected because i challenge sometimes. ha

    Ramols- happy birthday!

Tazzy- i'm sorry, I didn't realize it was a secret! haha If I could have gotten on the table I would have been up there with you dancing like a fool!

Scottie- Hope your appointment goes well, can't wait to hear what they said.

Melissa- I spent my 35th birthday in 2012 doing testing for this damn disease and got the diagnosis no one wants to hear. So I feel your pain with your birthday last year.

Maybe we should add everyones birthday to our group.?

I started thinking today, (that's sad), that my cancerversary is coming up in 4 mos! Where did the time go?! It seems like it was just yesterday that everything came down. What a nightmare might I add!
