    Quick check in before work.

Chrisrenee:  laughed out loud at your post... what a great visual.

Juneau: love the baby... yay - that's what I think too.

Ramols:  beautiful post.  How wonderful of him to share that with you.

Liefie:  as you said... only 2 days to the weekend.   I didn't imagine that it would be this hard to get back into.  My DH said last night that he got comfort from me bitching about my day at work and the frustrations I was experience.   He said that to him it meant I wasn't thinking about cancer at that time... so was moving on.   Cant really argue with him on that one.

Way to go those who have lost weight.  Every little helps.

Hugs and love to all you beautiful ladies.

Today will be a better day wont it ?

I'll be happy once I have my job under control again... then I should be able to keep up with you guys a bit more from work. Wink

Tazzy: I was thinking the same thing as your husband last night as I was going through my routine... yes I HAVE a routine again that doesn't involve brushing, flossing, water drinking, hand sanitizing.... life is getting a sort of rhythm to it again.  It's taken 3 months, but I'm getting there.  Welcome back to work my friend!  Speaking of, I better get to it. Been here for 1 1/2 hours and I've been fucking around in photobucket and on here.Undecided

juneaubugg - Thanks for sharing, gives me hope that I am not that far off from hair. I was getting nervous about lack of hair growth so far.

Tazzy sounds like you really need the weekend. Dh is right- the further out we get from surgeries/treatments the more we get back to our old selves- that could be a good thing for them or very bad lol

Juneau the photo journal is great; when you are 100 and in your rocker (maybe off your rocker too by then) it will probably be very interesting to look back on it all.

Chrisrenee you made me crack up.

    Ramols that was so nice

McCook Hang in there- guy is a jerk. As the saying goes; what goes around comes around.

Juneau, thanks for the hair story. I really like the cowlick you have in front - so cute. Also glad your scale is starting to move downwards. This Monday I started doing more cardio every day, and it is paying off, I think. Will weigh tomorrow to see what the effect is after this week. We are not going to let Tamoxifen beat us.

Butterfly, don't worry. The hair will come back sooner than you think. Mine took a full twelve weeks after the last chemo to start growing in July. I'm getting my second haircut next week. So take heart; it will happen.

Oh and Scottie- another party this afternoon just for you so you don't go before the counsel -lol

    Green Smoothie party

Yum? (I'll eat the leftovers from yesterdays party so there are enough smoothies for all of you) Actually the little berry in the center makes them seem like they would probably taste alot better than they probably do. But Big Congrats to those losing weight and those trying.

Joanne:  Root canal... that's as good as poking your eye out with a pen.  Hope you feel OK.

work was better today - cant wait to be at Juneau's stage when I can work and fuck about in other programs and still get a job done. Smile

Off to do dinner now.  chat later on.  Oh! that is if I can stay awake of course.   I still need to be in bed by 8.30 and I sleep until 6am.  Way more sleep than I ever used to have.

mcook:  I feel your pain.  I did something very similar in Thailand.  We were sitting in a bar and on the table were what I thought chopped cherry tomatoes... well they weren't... they were the hottest thai chillis I have ever, ever tasted.    And like you DH - mine laughed loud.  Hope your taste buds return soon.

Tazzy- on top that I am jealous you have been to Thailand that sounds more painful than mine:) I love curry but miss my friends - he was is from England and his wife was from Jamaica so some of the best curry was at their house for dinner but hot as hell! I haven't been able to see them for years:(

Man did I ever tell anyone that this year my ex husband and ex bf for seven years got married on the same dam day :) man I have a lot of luck dating people to prep them for marriage LOL

I was reminded of it today because my ex husband is coming to Minneapolis to see a mutual friends (which I was told today) and then an hour later a mutual friend of my ex bf told me he is flying to dk to attend a ceremony him and his wife were having denmark since they did not have a church wedding. I just laugh at the luck of those conversations today and how ironic :) seriously I am happy for both of them and would never change those life experiences but man

Hi gang...wow miss a few days and I have a book to read on this thread!  First off Congrats to Scottiee and happy belated Ramols!  I am happy about any happy I see these days.  I am away from Ohio visiting dad in FL.  He is the sweetest kindest man, in his mid 80s and living solo since mom, his soulmate, passed away in 2010.  He is content in his surrounding and  wants stay in his surroundings in Fl even though alone and far away when he has 2 loving childeren who adore him up north.  He has a bad knee but surgery is out of question at his age etc...mind sharp as a tack and not sad just a alone  mostly now due to mobility .  I could not visit him as much during treatment, and then losing my job, i know my role now is to get down there and be with him as much as I can.  So I am here another week.  I was so excited today and then saddened as my DS and finace were to fly down from Knoxville for a quick visit.  We (I) spent the day buying desserts for their late arrival buying bagels and lox, buying extra pillows etc.   Well, there was  a fast freak snow in Knoxville, cars all over the roads and sliding off,  son tried to get finace from work to head to airport but it was gridlock and he got stuck on going up hills etc..  They missed the flight and headed home without nearing the airport.  Only able to spend till Sunday and no reasonable flights for today so its a no go.   Dad was so looking forward to see his grandson and finace  yet says that they could have been in accident etc...so as long as they are safe all is well.  Don't know when they can make it again as her new job and his summer internship with law school means no days off etc.    We shall see...

Anyway, I am trying to watch the weight but now have a fresh carrot cake sitting in the fridge...and bagels etc...arrrghhh.  Dad eats well but with appetitie when I join him. So far have been able to stay away from his warm croissants for breakfast....   I did weigh in today at 168..so stayed the same.  Tomorrow I am walking with a lady I will meet from another thread on BCO...she too has folks in Fl and figured out they live in same complex!  She is from Denver and here too now so we will meet up and walk!  Keep on keeping on ladies!

Hi Aruba....thanks for the update....your father sounds adorable....at least he has his daughter with him, if not his grandson....disappointing for both if you, however.

Enjoy your time with him. Nice to meet someone from BCO....enjoy your walk together.

Aruba: how wonderful to have a friend there. We really do have a friend in every city now from the BCO. Sorry to hear about your son missing his window to get to FL. That sucks! Especially for him...he ALMOST got a break from the winter freeze! Re the food... Give the cake to a neighbor, eat half a bagel at a time and load up on Liz. It's SO good for you. (I'm a bit jealous... Only one thing better then FL bagels & lox are Brooklyn bagels & lox!

Ok ladies; was down 0.8 yesterday at WW. I should have taken off my sweater! But got into the 170's. and managed to get up at 6:15 and do 30 minutes on The Bitch for a total of 1.89 miles. SUCCESS IS MINE (Just For Today...)

Ok gotta finish getting ready for work. Xxoo to all.

Aruba I'm so glad you got to come visit with your Dad. Mine is 89 and still doing fine on his own. I am fortunately only about 45 minutes from him and have told him we have a room for him anytime he wants it. But he is happy that he can still have his own little place too.

Way to go Juneau! Another thing you have to watch out for when you get on the scale, in addition to shoes and heavy sweaters of course, are some of the belt buckles. I swear I have one that is 2 lb.But the last time I went to my PC doc, I blamed my weight gain on the new implants. I guess if I've gained the next time I go in, I won't be able to use that excuse again. lol

McCook and Tazzy you two give different meaning to spicing up your life.

    Have a nice day ladies!

    Good Morning

So I am torn about getting my cortisone shot today! I don't like unknowns and the risk of getting a shot in my shoulder and risk of LE. Ugh I don't know what to do here. I read and read last night about this and the different opinions confuse me. I read studies, post etc

Lots of women who get frozen shoulder during BC(would have been freaking nice if they would have told me this risk) a cortisone shot did not help them.

Ahh maybe I just don't want to go to another doc appointment today. I work mon-thurs and Fridays I make all my doc appointments and today I just want to relax with nothing to do and have the house to myself.

Ok I better decide soon appoinntment is at 3 and I need to call them and cancel.

, I went back to work yesterday after being off for two days with sore throat, headache,

etc. Had to take today off because Inhave developed laryngitis, and as a teacher, well,

no point in going in. Just wanted to say that before BC, I would be feeling really sorry for myself, thinking poor me!!! It's funny how BC puts everything in perspective....got the all clear this week and so sore throat, headache, laryngitis....bring it on...in a couple of days I'll be fine!!!! Don't know why I felt like sharing that, but there you have it.

Mcook...I don't have any advice or experience with cortisone shots, except my mother

Used to get them twice a year for her arthritis, which allowed her to be mobile for a while...not quite the same however. You must be going crazy trying to decide....just remember whatever decision you make....live with it...no what ifs...that will make you even more nuts...let us know what you decided.

Mcook - It is your decision, for me, they helped and it wasn't that bad, but mine was not on the LE shoulder, on my hip bursa. On the other hand my trigger point injections were in the shoulder and neck.  To me, it was worth trying to get rid of the pain for a bit and my LE did not flare... I'm doing fine. No swelling, I did do extra water and MLD before and after the injections, if that helps any.. Whatever you do, do what is right for you... ******HUGS******

Aruba - good to hear from you; sorry that your son and fiancé weren't able to catch the plane. Wonderful that you can meet and walk with another BCO member today.

Juneau - I'm impressed! Sounds like a great start to this week's efforts

Mccook - can't advise but wanted to let you know I'm with you whatever you decide

2fried - you won't need an excuse next doctors visit, I now we're wearing down your resistance :).

Joanne - hope your mouth is feeling better today

    Gmafoley - wow!

Tazzy - down .4 this week. Noticed my ring is tighter this a.m. and swelling under eyes this a.m., anyone experience water retention with Tamoxifen? I just started it this week.

Aruba: sounds like you are having an absolutely wonderful time with your DD. How precious. Sorry your DS & fiancé couldn’t make it down… but there is always a reason for everything happening. Great you are meeting another lady from BCO.

Juneau: another one who has mastered the Bitch. You made me laugh with your work comment – or lack of work.

2Fried… that’s so true about how much weight we walk around with… on our clothes I mean. Maybe we should take off 2lb when doing our weigh ins.

Mcook… if you go, even for a cortisone shot, I’ll be in your pocket.

Scottie: So true what you said. My DH came home with a sore throat last night… I told him to suck it up– it’s a sore throat. He saw the funny side of my unsympathetic comment.

OK – I will weigh in today when I get to work… but ladies who have told me their weight are either stable or the scales going down in the right direction. So that is excellent I think.

Hugs and sunshine in your day to everyone xxx  off to get ready for work.   Shit I am back full time next week Undecided

Websister - doctor told me that the was the most complained about side effect with tamoxifen :( that and hot flashes. That is not fair but maybe some food choice can help us. I got the ok to start feb 1 after my exchange surgery.
