Believe- he isn't home right now, he is out for another 2 weeks. The polish was called ruby slippers. Sort of like my own Dorothy from Wizard of Oz. Speaking of I really want to see the new movie Oz! May have to do that with my daughter next weekend. who knows.

Chrisrenee.....love your new bras....and I 'm so jealous of the toes....my girlfriend talked me into having one of the new spring colors which is mint green so like a good girl I took her advice.....hate them....I also usually go for a "slutty red" but it's ok and my feet feel so
good....enjoy Chrisrenee ....too bad DH isn't home to enjoy also....lol0 -
Pardon me ladies for sounding a little philosophical here, but I was writing to Chrisrenee
and she just reminded me what women in the past used to tell me and I didn't get it at the time but yesterday, I got it. The weather in Toronto was spring like yesterday so I took myself off and had a pedi, like Chrisrenee, did a little shopping and just enjoyed
the time out....I suddenly realized why....I had no aches or pains, no nausea, a little bit of the old me was there, you know that feeling of well being....Inthought that was gone for good!!! I just looked up at the skies and thanked anybody who was watching and listening to me for that moment in time.....I decided a while ago that my new mantra would be "one day at a time" ....the only sad part in this scenario is that I keep waiting for the balloon to burst, but I guess that's part of our "new life" Today is going to be beautiful again and I'm planning to have another moment in time, which I wish for all of you....maybe not today, maybe tomorrow...whenever, but I am still cherishing my moments yesterday......thanks for letting me ramble on. ❤....love you all0 -
Sorry gals...forgot to post about the weight list!!! Congrats to all losing ....not easy..
and for everybody else....hang in there, it will happen....I keep saying ....don't obsess
over numbers and scales....as long as you are working toward losing by eating and exercising appropriately....it will happen......trust me.....I know this to be true!!!!
PS ....although I'll be away for a few days, don't think the eyes of Scottiee will be away also. 👀 poor Jo she gets me up front and personal.....she thinks she's going to the cottage to chill out ...ha ha ha0 -
Shari just know that we are all here with you and you have the best support ever .... Hugs
I love Soma but love there panties ... First found them in St. Almands circle in Sarasota. Then have managed to catch them in Albuquerque. Chrisrenee the bras are beautiful and your toes are wonderful ... Can just imagine the attitude you must have in the black bra and slutty red toes. Lol0 -
Sorry, I have been MIA. Jumping back in here. The keeping the weight off journey is going horribly. Run everyday and on maintenance with WW and still gaining. Back to eathing nothing and running more. So greatful for Tamoxifen but really didn't want that side effect.
Hope everyone here is doing well. Already almost time for my one year mammogram.

Belinda, I can totally understand. I am not doing great right now with my effort but paying attention and my middle is getting bigger and higher. It is frustrating. I did join Curves and I know that will help me ... I have lots to lose so am really out of shape. Good luck ... Don't beat yourself up .. Keep doi g what you are doing ... It is still positive.

Shit trying to catch up from Friday and on my iPhone so apologies if I'm brief right now.
First.. Tazzy; 173.8 at my WW weigh in last week. On my treadmill every morning but not counting every bite anymore. I was miserable and obsessed and the scale wasnt moving. I've managed to just the padding area under my left thumb. Hurts when I do Pilates or plank. Skipping yoga this morning so I'll be on my treadmill soon.
Bras....what's Soma ladies??? I had a VS gift card and tried their last week. It was a nightmare. I need up at Marshall's where I bought another Warner's bra and a Maidenform. 38C.
Ladies...THANK YOU FOR POSTING PHOTOS!!! [Tazzy??? :-| ]. You are BEAUTIFUL!!!!
Believe & outdamnedspot; I'm near the city and willing to travel if my schedule in any way allows. Was talking about an April visit with Scorchy, Ramols and Shari possibly. (Shari; due to chemo killing you white cells you won't have surgery for at least six weeks PFC. my surgeon made me wait 10.)
Carolyn; you're right where your supposed to be....depression and all. The chemo was equally detrimental to my mental health as my physical self. As someone said; it's systemic and your brain chemistry gets all fucked up too. For me, the physical discomfort got SO BAD with the hot flashes, restless legs, insomnia, back pain...I really wanted death to come at one point. I was THAT depressed. Mercifully it passed in a couple of days and I had the women here to carry me through... SO PLEASE KEEP POSTING/sharing/crying here.
I know I missed WAY To much, but I have to run. On to my treadmill and then my weekly home group (12 step mtg) that I never miss whereI get lots and lots of hugs... Yay!0 -

Juneau they have some wonderful things ... Check them out.0 -

Hello ladies!...checking in again.@Chrisrenee, LOVE the bras! I had never even heard of SOMA before your post but just looked at their website and not only do they have a nice selection, there's a location not too far from me. I have my first stage Diep in a few weeks so I'll have to wait a while to actually do any bra shopping but nice to know of this option!

@Shari, what you are feeling is totally normal and a part of your journey. I was diagnosed last year at 34 yrs old stage3/grade3/triple negative...so very aggressive and at times felt the same as you. A friend later gave me a plaque that said "worry about nothing...pray about everything" and although it honestly doesn't keep me from worrying at all...I do think about that and it calms me down and reminds me to have faith in my higher being. My mastectomy was about 7 weeks post chemo so your timeline seems right. I started radiation about 2 months later and now scheduled for reconstruction. The ladies on these boards are wonderful support and provide a wealth of information so just keep the faith and return for support as needed! Take care

I just hope my big toenails have grown back enough to be even put out in public in time for Spring - thanks chemo.
chrisrenee.. your nails and bras are beautiful.
Scottie: your post made so much sense.... our new normal is something lurking in the back of our minds... but I sure have a new appreciation for a sunny day and life in general.
DH & I went out last night to the local hockey game. First we went to the casino and came out just over $40 up which aint a fortune, but bought us dinner
I have been having issues with my scar and underarm... seems the nerve endings are working overtime... least that is what I think they are. Also hips are very achy - doesn't matter if I sit, stand, they feel very stiff. I will ask my MO at my March 28 appt. But its just another reminder of what 2012 held. I have come so far though and that is what I will focus on.
Juneau: now that is my kind of workout
Hello and hugs, everyone I missed. Gonna see if I can get into the garden again later on. Always good therapy.
Oh! my friend has had her lumpectomy and see's her BS next week for next plan of action. She said she is surprised how much it hurts... I think she was trying to minimalise what she was going through. Hope she now has clean margins from her path report.

Thx Juneaubugg, those docs/oncs are so busy, they never tell me anythg,so I have to bombard them with questions for my 1 min look/see visit with the oncologist. I know she has to get out and see those who are really suffering in the chemo lounge. I have to wait in there for my meds to be brought out to me.
cmber, you might wanna see if your dr can chk your Vit D levels,if its been overcast and cold where you are,you might not have good levels, and of course all these meds and general BC crap can make you depressed. I had low levels cause I have to stay inside 10 hrs a day at a desk despite living in sunny FL. If you have any spare cash, maybe it would be worth to invest in a "light box". I might buy one and put it on my desk at work.
Juneau, I had gotten very dizzy and nauseaus and was convinced I was getting the flu. went to the dr and the dr said (no lady with alligator purse was there) no more monkeys jumping on the bed...and in addition decided I had a sinus infection from allergies, got pills for nausea, one for dizziness and some antibiotics for the infection. I had no clue!

Oh my goodness Layla... You made me laugh, what a great post, lightening up the dr's visit, hope I can keep that song in my head when it is my turn to go )

Chrisrenee, you've given me inspiration, I'm going to give myself a pedicure!!!!
Believe, you are so right, chrisrenee does indeed brighten our site!! Such a beautiful person!! I think we are all too young to be here!! It's pretty shitty that we had to, but I'm so glad to have found you ladies, you've given me strength, peace, laughter and a place where I can feel "normal" I'm not different than anyone here. I know people mean well, but honestly, I'm still me, I just happened to have cancer!!!
Anyway that's off topic lol. It's march break here this coming week, so, as much as looking at those pretty bras makes me want to go shopping, I doubt my 9 yr old DS would enjoy that. ;-) which raises my question, of how long after rads did everyone start being able to wear a bra again? I'm done 9 of 25, more than 1/3 the way thru!!!! I'm a glass half full kind of person hehehe. I just started being irritated by mine this weekend and decided to go au natural, but because I only had umx w/recon I have a nice perky one and an old, saggy retired milk factory!!! I'm lopsided in anything tighter than a sweatshirt.
Oh the joys.
Hope everyone had a great weekend0 -
Shiane- thank you for the compliment. I enjoy having fun and I love to make people happy. Get your pedicure/manicure and smile some. Are you going to get slut red?? It' s funny how you all have used my term. I love it.
I went to the PS on friday and he had put the ball in my court if I wanted to have a revision done. He told me to think about it and in the mean time he was going to submit the revision to my insurance company. Finding the bras yesterday and loving the way they fit, made me happy with the girls. I felt like I had one big uniboob wearing a sportsbra. So for now the revision is off the table. My new bras made me feel sexy and more feminine than I have in the last 9 mos. With the feeling of loss of desireability my mind has made me feel less attractive than my hubby finds me. What's funny is that by all the time this is over with I will look like a slut! Nips sticking out, new bras and slut red toes. Wow, that's an image isn't it! lol

Lol Chrisrenne!!!! Lovin the bras but esp the toe nails..... I will have to wait I finally lost the awful discoloured nail on my bigtoe leftside! Tazzy, you are another who just cracks me up!!! Your attitude and sense of humour are contagious!!!
Layla, I'm wiping the tears off my cheeks from laughter!!! Too funny girl!!!
Chrisrenee, keep that sexy feeling going strong girl!!! New bras, lovin the girls, and slut red toes... When your DH gets home... Well, I'll just stop there hehe ;-P
Serious tho, I'm so happy for you!!!!
Scottie, I think it's the weather!!! I've been out and about the last few days too and I feel fantastic!!! I just said to my DH today that I haven't felt this good in ages!! I think a combination of new med (gabapentin) and nice weather, longer daylight hours, and that light at the end of the tunnel is getting closer! I've suffered RLS for yrs, untreated, MO gave me the gabapentin for PN, which has not improved as yet but the RLS, GONE!!!!! Omg, I really forgot what it is like to walk without pain, sit without the annoying sensations, awaken hourly due to spasms... But I also totally understand what you mean by waiting for the balloon to burst.
If anyone is interested, my MO also told me to take extra vitamin D. The past daily amount of 400 iu is wrong, we actually require up to 800-even as much as 1200iu!!! I've increased mine with extra calcium and magnesium and I feel like a freakin ray of sunshine!!!! :-D
Chrisrenee, I'm torn between "slut red" and "basket case pink" lol. It's an actual colour!!! I'll do the pink and post a picture. But I'm doing my fingers red.
Time to feed the darlings!!!!!0 -
Shianne.....my MO freaked out when I told him I had upped my Vit D3 ...I didn't bother to tell him I was taking Mg now too....He said no more than 1000IU and that taking too much is dangerous...something to do with too much Ca uptake....I take 4000IU and 400 mg of Mg and I do feel better....it has helped my back problems too....screw my MO
he is only interested in research, S/E and checking me for lumps.0 -
Hi guys, I'm feeling great today, too! Definitely think it's the weather. Went out for a long walk in the sunshine with my hubby. Crocuses blooming, kids playing a baseball game at the local high school... it's spring!!!

Oh, and I take 2,000 IU of Vitamin D because I was severely deficient. Maybe that's helping! But I think it's the real life sunshine that's making the difference. I feel like Juneau's cat.

Scottiee and Shianne, My MO told me 2000IU Vit D3 per day and to get Calcium from my diet. I had issues with too much Calcium in my blood years ago, so no Calcium supplements for me. I started taking Magnesium for leg cramps and I think it's helped a bit. That and the bar of white soap I keep at the bottom of the bed. Don't laugh, I think it works too
Chrisrenne...love your bras and toes! I wonder if they have Soma in Canada? Have never heard of it, so Google it I will.
Amazing how getting outside on a sunny day makes us feel so much better. Love it!
NYCChutzpah...thank you so much for the tips...really appreciated.
Love and hugs to all.

Yes, for bone health try to get just 15 minutes a day of the sun's rays for Vitamin D building naturally by your skin (no sunscreen). If you are very fair, start with just 5-10 minutes a day. Good luck!

I too take 2000 IU Vit B3 and magnesium for leg cramps. Both were recommended by my GP.
0 -
One MO I heard said you can take up to 4000IU a day safely!!!!!

Shiann29 - definitely choose slut red over basket case pink!
Juneau - is that your cat? He/she is bigger than my poodle!
Love you all and have enjoyed your antics all day while I was baking. I made lemon everything! Wanted to use what came off my tree that wasn't stuck in the freezer. My DH is loving it all after a strenuous day in the golf course with our son :-)
I also feel great. Yes Cmbernardi - the sun makes a big difference. I wonder how long it will take us to complain about the heat. Seeing a new eye surgeon tomorrow, hope he also knows how to get rid of freckles and sun spots..
My MO told me to take vitamin D also. I take 1600 but may increase that after your discussions. I also take calcium. Finding vitamins without soy is a pain. Could they write the Ingredients any smaller?
My Arimidex wrist is even feeling better, yeah!
Chris - did you text or email the photo of your bras and slut red toes to your DH? Maybe he can come home sooner.
The only thing I didn't do yet is visit with the beast..,. Be back after that adventure.0 -
Oh Believe......could you send some of those lemon desserts to Jo's cottage for us!!!!!
We need enough for four days and Jo will give you the address......lol0 -
Believe- I did "happen" to send him a couple pics of me in them. lol He can't come home early or he doesn't get paid. He's a medic offshores. He is usually home 3 weeks and then gone 3 weeks. This time he is gone a month. I've already missed him so much. I started missing him the day he left. I cried like a big 'ol baby. Not even going to lie.
