Scottie - I'd love to send you some goodies. Joann - Send me the address. It takes 2 weeks for mail to get to Canada but I'm hoping you are meeting in the States.

I did my 30 minutes on the beast. Now I have one bracelet to finish. I exhaust me.

    Good Evening Ladies,

Juneau - love the photo! Holy big cat:)

    Chrisrenee

    - I need to paint my toes! And check out soma for those bras! The one I bought last week I wore for a night and was way too tight!

Tazzy- sounds like you had a good time last night! And heck 40 dollars is great! I usually walk out in the hole:)

Everyone else I read your post! Sending hugs to all that are having a bad day!

I was supposed to do my long run yesterday and I guess I was scared of failing so I put it off. But today I just got on that bitch and ran six miles! It was slow and steady and hard as hell but I did it! Took me almost 80 minutes! But I ran the whole time! I kept trying to keep my mind from wondering to work stress etc and just be in the moment and that help! I was not going to not do six miles because I needed to prove to myself I could do it! Now walking tomorrow might be an issue:)

I have a big favor to ask of everyone.  If you could keep my brother in your thoughts I would appreciate it.  I found out today through my mom's caretaker (family friend of 50+ years) that my brother may have a brain tumor.  He failed every neurological test given to him and he's feeling pressure in one part of his head.  He goes for a scan either tomorrow or Tuesday.  He hasn't said anything to me because he doesn't want to worry me as I continue with my treatment for BC.  My mom's caretaker is going to try and convince him tomorrow to call me.  It's so sad.  He hasn't even confided in my sister-in-law.  Thank goodness he can talk to my mom's caretaker about his fears and everything.  I know something has been weird because he has called me at least once every week since my diagnosis last year and I haven't heard from him in 2 weeks.  I've tried to get a hold of him but my mom's caretaker thinks he's not calling me back because he'll break down on the phone with me.  I am now experiencing a little bit now what my husband and family experienced waiting for my results and it's not a very good feeling being on that end of it.  I can't even fathom at this point that cancer could be rearing it's ugly head again against my family.

    Thank you everyone.

I will try to post about tomorrow's survivorship class sometime this week because I want to get the information to all of you.  Tomorrows class has to do with Symptoms and Strategies.

    Take care.

wow - take a weekend off and i can't catch up at all!

shari - take a deep breath and relax. wipe out all that you read online and just know that your chemo did work in some way, and surgery removes what is left. I had 6 positive nodes and my surgeon told me in my first post-op visit that she got all my cancer out. The chemo and rads after surgery are just extra insurance. your surgeon will cut it all out and the number of positive nodes won't matter. Remember - a lot of this is about our minds and attitudes. Envision growing old surrounded by grandkids. Get that picture in your head and hang onto it. Let it carry you through! Hugs!!!

juneau - your cat is making me want a cat again...

I'm missing so many of you but there is no way I can respond to all. But I will jump on chrisrenee's theme of fancy bras and slut red toes and just say that if any of you have felt like you've lost your mojo - buy some new lingerie, drop the kids off at grandma's and get a hotel room for the night (and if you're not in recovery, have a little vino too). All I'll say is me and the hubby had a fantastic weekend! :)

BTW - is there a reason you ladies with BMX are getting bras? I am so looking forward to remaining braless!!!

teeballmom- Will be praying for you and your brother and his family. Please keep us informed.

Ramols- I want to feel sexy and a sports/cami bra just isn't cutting it for me. I always brought cute bras that made me feel confident. I have a drawer full of bras that i can't bare to throw away. They all remind me of my "former" self and what I always said i hated about my breasts, ie:too big, stretch marks, saggy, huge areola/nip//. now mine are smaller than i wanted, incision line no nip/areola, but I'm cancer free so they say. I want my mojo back... Wonder if i need to watch "How Stella got her groove back"? lol

Teeballmom- positive thought and prayers for your brother and family. Definitely not fair! So sorry you have to go through this challenge.

Mcook - you shame me! I do 30 minutes on my beast everyday at 2.8. You are fearless.

Sorry Scottie about the cookies. Guess you will have to come to CA. You said you wanted to travel.

Teeballmom, you and your brother are in my thoughts. Hopefully you can talk to him soon.

Shari, I hope you can find a way to navigate through this scary time, and reach a place where you can be more at peace.

Everybody else, I am reading the posts, but I am on Turks & Caicos in the Caribbean with DH for a week, so will not post regularly. Arrived on Saturday morning. So far we've done a little grocery shopping, walked, slept, read, swam. We are so lazy, but who cares? Can't get over the colour of the ocean, and the warm weather is glorious - what a change from Vancouver Island where spring is just arriving. My only problem is to eat sensibly and do some exercise . . . lol!

Best wishes to you all, whether you are still in treatment, or trying to put your life back together again after bc. Hugs to all!

Scottie, I think drs don't like us taking control of ourselves. I agree screw them!! Lol if you feel better, do it!!

Keeping in mind your own health history, which we all do. Eat, drink, dance and be merry!! Lol

My BS told me magnesium also helps with hot flashes!! I'm taking 750 mg a day and after chemopause I get maybe 10 hf a week

My BS said 5000 iu D3 is fine, especially here in MI where there isn't much sunshine. MO said no problem with amount I'm taking, the more the better, as it may keep Cancer away.

My cat is a BEAST and a total snuggle-up-olous....  She actually had a constipation issues 2 years ago that caused a condition called megacolon.  As a result she needed enamas every day (not), to be put to sleep, or a $4000 surgery to remove her colon.  Luckily my BIL is a emergency vetrainary surgeon (one of the best in the country) and owns his own clinic in North Carolina; so my DH drove my poor kitty there and she underwent a grueling surgery.  She was there for 3 months in the clinic whilst she recovered.  She growled and hissed at just about everyone and was mostly bones when I got her back as she couldn't eat (liquid nutrition).  When we went to pick her up on Labor Day weekend 2 years ago she was SO happy to see me; and my BIL wouldn't even let me pay for the meds/out of pocket cost for taking care of her.  Now she has managed to put ALL her presurgery weight back on (and then some).   She's a big (colonless) happy kitty.

mcook; 6 miles... shit!  I do almost 2 miles usually in distance in my 30 minutes on my treadmill.  I run for about 1 minutes or more on 5.0 and then go back to 3.8 and so on (intervals).  I'd like to be able to run longer; maybe I'm just not pushing myself hard enough. Should I slow down my pace?? Suggestions??

I went to my gym for 2 hours yesterday to mix it up a bit.  I used the elliptical type machines and then the bike for 30 minutes, for a total of an hours.  Then some nautilus stuff/abs and butt - and I was outta there.

teeball; prayers heading your way.  I will just say that there are tumors that are not cancer and are totally operable; so I'll send positive prayers your way that he gets some treatment and relief from whatever symptoms sent him to the dr in the first place.

I know I've mentioned this and I think shianne is now taking it too, but the Gabepentin has been my life saver. My hot flashes after being on it for 3 months are 100% GONE AND I am getting some the sensation under and around my breast back.

Ramols; did you ask about bras?  I am rather upset actually - having had a UNSMX I have to wear a bra now as my left breast has natural sag that the right doesn't.  In fact, it sags more then before due the added weight of the implant. I never wore bras with tank tops before. As my BS said, I had "a really nice set". They were perky as I never had kids and was a A almost B.  So when I see my PS next month I am going to ask about a revision/lift on the left side.

Ok - I better get to work.  I woke up witha headache and didn't exercise this morning. I'm feeling sluggish and really just want to go home and get into bad.  This foggy weather we have doesn't help. HUGS and LOVE to all...  (liefie - get some rays for me and have a Pina Colada too.  I LOVE Turks & Caicos... eat, rest and be happy....)

teeball - thoughts to you and your family - echo what everyone said.

At work now.    Wasn't the weather beautiful this weekend - well it was in the Okanagan.  I got to do some work in my greenhouse - yay!  and was so nice to see that plants are already sprouting.

Hugs and healing thoughts to those that need them.

I take Vit. D & Calcium - cant remember the dosage though (chemo brain).

Gonna start walking at lunchtimes - now the weather is better.   Hopefully that will drop the pounds I have put back on.

Hugs to all - love you ladies xxx

Juneau- man your cat has been through quite and ordeal and that was so nice for him to do this for him!

About running! For me it is mentally! I have learned over the years to just zone out when running and if I can find that place I can run like Forrest gump except risk for injury with stress fractures extra because I have not been building my base so I would say you are doing it correctly but walk/running. If you run harder and you can not talk then you go into producing too much lactic acid and go into anaerobic status which is kind of what your body does when sprinting. Not to get into too much technical detail but you use fast fuels like carbs for fuel where if you stay in aerobic mode you use slow burning fuels like fats so it is best to watch your heart rate or better test can you talk while walking or running and if you can you can go longer and then build up speed. Hope that makes a little sense. Your body gets more efficient in fuel/calorie usage the more you train. This is why mixing up work outs if good like circuits extra and building some strength. This is what I learned but hell science changes all the time:)

Ok ladies. Question for anyone that can answer... Went for 3 month followup with mo feb 20. She did bloods. CBC came right back while I was there and she said all looked great. Full counts took a couple days and she said she would call if anything out if ordinary. Never heard anything. This bloodwork was forwarde to my PS and general practitioner for medical clearance for exchange surgery next week. Just got back from dr for medical clearance exam and he mentioned sugar was slightly high at 111 but asked if I fasted and I said no so he said that was fine then. But then said my liver function was 32 last yr when he did bloods before my mx and now they are 37. He said that is really nothing to worry about cause most labs either say high range is over 40 or even sometimes 50 in some labs. But who's he kidding. We now worry about everything!! Ugh. Now I just put a phone call in to mo to see what she says. Anyone have any input?? I am of course worrying now :-(

Just read about the earthquake in California (4.7).  No damage reported but shaking felt.  Hope all our California ladies are OK.

Melissa - sorry cant give any feedback as not experienced what you are going through.  But I really wish that docs would have a bit more thought to how we now think !  Hugs xx

Ireland- that is great news! Glad it was cyst!

Melissa - do they give you copies of your blood work? That usual shows baselines and areas of concern.
