Chevy - I do have a tendency to say FU and the horse you rode in on.  Before BC I would have been so careful who I said it to, now who the hell cares.  Yes, Kantalope does have a way of getting us all together. She is like the lost class clown.  I have the perfect 2 people I would like to say STFU to - my moron RO and his ice queen bitch of a nurse.  There, I feel so much better - LOL!

Oh we're supposed to get SNOW today--hmmm that's somethin new--I don't really care cuz I don't go anywhere

. I hope everyone has a wonderful F****** day. oops a nice day.

ShaneOak... Your post is what everyone thinks and never says. I wish you all the best with your surgery.

Personally people's optimism kind of bothers me. I feel silly for saying that as I'm not even diagnosed, still going through the tests. But it bugs me when people say "you'll be fine." Or "it's probably nothing". I feel like shouting "it might be something and I might not be fine!!!" Don't minimize what people are going through. It's hell, as you are very well aware.

I love your STFU attitude. And you're allowed to be angry. This is your journey.

I'm here for you. Please keep us updated with how you're doing. And know you're not alone.

Thanks for the replies ShaneOak and camillegal. I will report back when I know more. Thursday seems an eternity away. And to think, I was trying to be more proactive with my health... So I have a physical on Friday (booked prior to my knowledge of the second ultrasound).

The support is so greatly appreciated and reading your kind words brought a smile to my face.

"STFU" and "Shut The Front Door" certainly have their places.

But DH and I have found a new saying when dealing with family members and their psychodrama:

    Just Grow the F*%# Up!!!!!!

Somehow, this just cuts to the chase faster than "Put On Your Big Girl Panties And Deal With It..." Wink

Just had to come back and say that this thread is just the funniest thing. I love it! I read every entry and tell my DH about it.

I am also a Scot, from Glasgow, but came to Australia when I was a child. I have some Scottish friends and I must say when we get together my DH calls me "Gutter Gums" when we recall funny things from our youth.

I have a couple of friends who went MIA when I was first diagnosed.  One called me for the first time today, after about five weeks,  and said " OH, I knew you'd be just fine, you always just breeze through everything!" STFU

Ariom....so nice to hear from a fellow Glaswegian....I love that...gutter gums!!!!!!

I hope Granny here reads this one...she'll love it. Which part of Glasgow did you come from?

Ok....another one on my bucket list.....a little "B" of a receptionist at my local cancer hospital. Just before Xmas I had an appt. to see my RO for a check-up....3:30pm

At 5:00pm I was still sitting there, and by this time, the waiting room had cleared out, I was the only one left, and even the receptionists were putting on their coats...WTH..

Soooo I very "calmly" (was near Xmas time) walked over and asked one of the

receptionists if they had forgotten about me!!!! She said "don't you know, the doctors

are very BUSY" !!!!!!! and of course, I'm not busy, right? STFU. So 15 minutes later, my name was called...the best part....didn't even see my RO.....saw a nurse practioner!!!!!!

I told her that I was signing myself out of this clinic and would continue check-ups with my MO....At least I don't have to listen to that little "B" tell me how BUSY the doctors are!!!!......STFU girl. Try having spent the last year waiting to see BUSY doctors.....lol

Granny....still praying and sending lots of positive vibes for your son.....again.....go easy on these nurses and doctors.....lol

Scottie---STFU is right---they forgot about u I'm sure---I don't care how busy the Dr. was someone screwed up and u weren't on the schedule--boy do u have patience. I wouldn't have said a word and walk riht in the offices and stand there til someone saw me--just to be polite.

so this year, I'm looking forward to getting stuffed again....lol.....and telling people who give me grief to "get stuffed" 💃💃💃....or STFU...oh it's nice to have choices...lol

Those b!!chussss........!  I HATE when they leave us just sitting there, just so we can stare at them....and  looking around!  And THEN you get escorted to the inner room, and have to get WEIGHED!  I take off my Crocs, and my rings, and get weighed.  Then you get to go to that little room.... and wait another 15 minutes for the DOCTOR!   By that time you are ready to just slap them all!   NEXT time we should ALL say "What took you so f-ing LONG????     WTYSFL???

Ariom.... Yes!  Everyone thinks if we didn't bite the big one on the operating table, that we are fine and all done!   Never mind everything else we have to look forward to!   Blessed are those that really "get it."!!

Kantalope!!!  I WONdered what happened to your little Russian gal!  You have to be half way decent, (now THERE'S a stretch) because she is the Mother of your Grand-daughter!    If your Son is relatively happy with her, then you just have to show a little tolerance.... a little decorum.  Wink  Just bake her cookies and buy her a sachet, and she will be your friend.

Are you going with your Son tomorrow?  And when is the surgery???  We're all with you....

    "Gutter Gums".... Ha,ha!  That's a good one!

    Hi Blondiex, I don't think we've met, well I wouldn't remember anyway--as usual

Oh Scottie to be 65 again hahahaha--I'm 67 and my body is a mess.LOL

Chevy u are so RIGHT they weigh in has me hysterical, then they wonder why my blood pressure go up--I take as much off as I can and tell them how much my clothes weigh especially in the winter and then u wait--and I love the way the Dr. knocks first and comes in immediately---he's going to see parts of me that are disgusting so who cares just come in , u'r already waiting at least 20 minutes what does he think u'r doing.

Granny all prayers are coming u'r way--so preop is tomorrow and I missed this when is the operation? I hope it's soon after. All this waiting is chit. Please tell me again.

For that long and then knock...WTH

My mother, God rest her soul, used to drive me crazy with the age thing. Anytime I would complain (rare occasions, of course) about being tired or anything else..she would say....

" when I was your age I could.....fill in the blanks" of course, she was my mother and I could NEVER have said to her STFU mom.....oh thought it many times.....so Cami....STFU.......lol....your still a young thing....AND, I'll allow you to say "Scottie, when I was your age"......it will make me think of my darling Mom 😘

scottie - When I read your post about your RO is brought have horrible memories of my rads experience.  My RO was a moron - wouldn't let me use lotions and let me burn to a crisp.  He always forgot to tell me something about treatment - I had to find that out on the internet.  He was never available to see me - in fact, he has left for the day when I showed up for my appt.  The bitch of a nurse was an uncaring ice queen. Both of then get a big STFU.

Hell, I threw them into the bonfire long time ago.  There is a thread called "Bonfire of the Goddesses".  It is a great place to throw people, things or just anything you want.  Makes you feel so much better.  We also sit by the fire and roast marshmallows.

Hello Scottie! Happy New Year to you!

I lived in Dalmarnock, but moved to Fife when my Dad left the Merchant Navy and took a job in the mines.

Yes, I love that "GutterGums" too it's just so descriptive isn't it. Although my Mother was a gentile and beautiful lady who never swore, I can't say the same for  her sister who could make a sailor blush. She arrived in Australia for a "wee holiday" which lasted 2 months. She took everything that was offered to her, drank the place dry and embarrassed my Mum in front of all her friends with the worst curse words you could imagine. She was about 70 at the time. She was a real "GutterGums".

When my Mum was diagnosed with BC we never heard from  her! STFU!  Probably a good thing!

Grannydukes, you crack me up! I love your turn of phrase.

I really enjoy the read on this thread. Too many to mention, everyone has the best sense of humour.

    Thanks!
