I am a success too Glennie. I had a spinal fusion in 1989 (yikes) Beforehand I was in so much pain that once I sat down, it made me cry to move from that position. After surgery, it is fantastic, no more pain. I have travelled the world, had two kids, I am so happy that I had it done. Can't remember what numbers they were now, lower back second from bottom, I think.

I hope you get some clear answers at your appointment. In the bag. Xx

Glennie, please take a nice deep cleansing breath and listen to Bobo, please stay away from Dr. Google. *hugs* I looked up your corn snake, cuz that's just such a cute name and they are so pretty! I think you should name it. I'm jealous of your yoga outing and your rice pudding present. In the bag for you and we're going to sneak Ava in as well.

Bobo that was so sweet of you!!

Geez, Dawny, you were awfully young to have gone through that.

Shit ldesim, I saw this one on FB and didn't post it here for fear of traumatizing you, geesh thanks, for that!

I am guessing that the woman in the front left of the picture and her partner, who is taking the picture, must have spotted these 2 weirdos, run ahead and set it up to look like the picture was being taken of the woman, on the left.

What the heck is that outfit? The manboobs are bad enough, but the pouch in the shorts is just the worst thing I have ever seen. What is that woman thinking, being seen with him? OMG she needs a bra as much as he does!

You ruined my lunch ldesim! LOL

lmao.. your comments were hysterical, M. I can't figure out if it's a pouch or what the hell is going on there. Love the ICU :) I just don't get why they are designed that way.. M, I think you should design the hospital gowns.

S, adorable.. glad they moved off your bed too!

Glennie, I want to hug you. I am sorry you have this shit to deal with now. You know we are all here, rant and vent all you want. I wish I could do yoga with you and Bobo! Rice pudding sounds very nice.

Had Z on my mind since I read about the trip with Sasafire. I am glad there is a girlfriend going too. Z, you did the right thing, no question, don't give yourself a hard time about it. It's a terribly tough thing to do, but you would never have forgiven yourself, if one of the kids had been bitten.

It will all turn out for the best, I am sure!

BG asked about Sasafire this am. Said she wants to go to a new home too.

    From bond.

    Good morning,

Due to the threat of inclimate weather forecasted for tomorrow the service for Sheila has been postponed until next Saturday.

I don't know whether that is socially or morally acceptable to do, but the family made the decision.

Just wanted my "extended family" to know.

Glennie try not to freak. Stay busy. You've been thru bc so you know you can do it. Waiting is the hardest part. You have two friends here that have been there/done that. Take advantage of the fact they are positive!

    Double yuck!

    Zills,

You made the right decision................ Don't beat yourself up

Oh Bond ...... I feel so bad for him ...................now another week of delay to start getting some closure .............

I am still pissed about the "best friend " comment ...............  as he said "she was my everything" and we know he was her "everything"

    Glennie in the bag.......................

oh,,,,, poor Bond.  I feel so bad for him.  As Fia says,,, she was his everything.  I'm glad she had a love like that.

Z:  hope you are doing ok after that rough job yesterday.  (((Z)))

Dex looks so cute in his chair.

Going with BFF to visit another friend today. She has been living in Mexico for a while, and is at her Mom's now,,,, about 30 miles south,,, so we are going to visit her today.  Distraction.

    **waving to all**

Thank you for the message from Bond Z. I am so sorry BG reacted like that. Kids can rip our hearts out, can't they. They are also so resilient and will move on quickly. My mantra, when mine were young, was this too shall pass. In fact, it still is! Lol How did your boy take it?

Oh Glennie, I wish the MRI had better news for you! I hate to think about you fretting about this. Like Z said, we do have two others who have been there and they are so positive. I am still praying for no surgery and pain relief!

Everything in southern VA is still icy and blinding white. The PT never closes so I still have my appointment this morning. The lymphedemia was worse yesterday so I guess I need to see someone. This is a whole new area for me to navigate.

So, how many trips are we planning after NOLA? While I am not a big gambler, I will meet you all whever! I guess I need to get my first passport, if we are planning on Australia!

S, I'd go on a trip every month if I had the funds to do so, lol. Can you guys do the trip to Aus with lymphedemia? I guess maybe somebody should ask.. it's a long frigging flight. Good luck at PT.. and yes you should get somebody to look at that. I know, the last thing any of us want to do is go to a damn Dr.

Fia, pisses me off too.. my heart goes out to this poor guy.

Aww Z, she's a little spitfire, isn't she. I'm glad that's behind you. Thank you for the Bond message... am I the only one who can imagine DP's reaction to the delay? :)

Glennie, enjoy your trip, I'm glad you have a distraction.

As for me, as you can see trying to avoid doing any actual work :)

I am excited about the NOLA trip. I do hope many of you are coming!! Big slumber party! Get to see Bobo strut in bikini and heels. Excellent.

Yes, I admit I am freaking about this neck crap. Afraid they will go in there and do something wrong and my arm will be paralyzed or something. I'm very independent and can't abide the thought of needing people to help me long-term. And I wouldn't be able to afford it anyway!!  Thank you for your positive energy and I'll keep you posted.

S:  where is LE?  Arm, truncal?  Have you been to the lymphedema forum to read?  Binney and Carol over there are very knowledgable. I've been dealing with it now since last May,, OMG,, almost a year.  geeez,, time flies?  You have PT appt for LE today?  Is PT LE certified?  You want that.   Keep up posted.  In the bag for your appt.

EDIT:  after reading L's post,, I think DP would say:  WTF??? Let's get this over with already.   **miss you, DP**

    {{{Z}}}

OMG. Cannot believe the delay. Poor bond.

Idesim, you have traumatized me, along with our M, that filthy-minded fluffer emerita! I did not even look for the 'pouch' until you directed me to do so! Because I am pure of heart. In fact, I thought you had taken the picture yourself, did not even think about FB. Because I am so clueless.

I am sure the rice pudding was NOT delicious -- it was totally holistic. Grain sweetened, short-grain brown rice -- our Glennie is being polite!

S, I just want to say you are a bad-ass. You are all like, 'I have LE. I am going to PT in a blizzard. Anyway when is the next trip?' You make me pee with happiness. I do not mean that in a dirty way.

Puppy porn is fantastic. I am so glad you got the puppy. She is giving everyone so much love. Oooh I love you puppy! She has commandeered the senior puppy's doggy bed!

G, don't look too far ahead. You can do it. In the words of Z, baby steps.

boy was upset when I told him on Tuesday but he's moved on. I always get BG's breakfast started and then take the dog out so it was a legitimate question. She's a mocking bird now. Wants anything/everything anyone else has/does.

I doubt I'll make it to Nola. Too hot/humid. Bummer I know. Will either be in Ireland or getting ready to go. Depends on port flushing, school starting, etc. just can't pick up and go:( boo as DP would say.

Yes be sure it's an LE PT not just a PT. Mine is better, knock on wood. Zumba seems to help. So does lots of water, daily mld, and watch salt intake.

Yes you can fly successfully. I wore my sleeve, did fist pumps and drank and drank and drank and walked. However Australia is a loooooong flight.

I agree. I think DP would be cursing at them. A delay I can see, but a whole week? It's like they are just causing everyone more grief, or are in avoidance.. or both. I am thinking I will go ahead with the scheduled time tomorrow. Anyone else? I think DP would be pleased we did our own thing for her.

    WTF?

    emerita adjective emer·i·ta \i-ˈmer-ə-tə\

    Definition of EMERITA

: emeritus —used of a woman

    Definition of EMERITUS

: one retired from professional life but permitted to retain as an honorary title the rank of the last office held

the weather is a winter weather advisory of snow/ice/rain mix. Not sure where they are exactly. Find it strange but safety first?

We probably should go ahead. Would be good for us. May bring him some comfort.

Glennie, so sorry that you are going though all this.  I agree that you do not need scary stories.  In my experience in short term rehab setting, the people who do cervical surgeries recover much faster than those who do lumbar.  Most of the time, their biggest complaint is the Miami J collar.  I have a good friend who had to have cervical fusion and did great.  No residual pain, loss of sensation or motion.

I like all the pictures.  The pouch is hilarious.  When my daughter was a teenager and we went on cruises, I always pointed out the older men in banana hammocks (speedo suits) to her so I would not be traumatized alone.  I like all the puppy pictures.  I will post some of Rhapsody when I figure out how to do pictures.

Z, you absolutely did the right thing for Sasafire and your family.  So sorry that DG is giving you a hard time.  When my DD was young and willful, I just reminded myself that this would be a great trait when she was a grown woman and that no one would ever walk all over her.

Poor Bond.  I hope he is able to grieve and begin to move on even with the delay in the service.

SC, I saw my PT yesterday when I was at the hospital.  I was worried about lymphedema because I have some pain and what feels like swelling.  Fortunately, no lymphedema, but she went ahead and gave me a light compression sleeve to wear.  We both think I will need it when I go back to work.  We talked about the flight to Australia, and she said she will probably get me a custom compression sleeve before then.

Bobo, that is so nice that you made healthy rice pudding for Glennie.  I hope you are feeling better, getting more energy.  I agree that it is hard to make sense of all DP went through and why the dicktors would not do more, all the insurance delays, the poor pain management.

    Have a great day all.
