Recluse are small spiders.  I had one of those big wood spiders in the house before and totally freaked. They are HUGE!

EWW, spiders creep me out and of course up north in the frozen land we dont have the species that you all speak of, just some "daddy longlegs" is what we see but still dont like them.. but loved Charlotte's Web movie! guess I am thankful for all the cats around so no rats either, altho we do live close to a grain elevator but the exterminator takes care of them there. Did not know that they would climb trees!

Loving the song lyrics... what a hoot!

DP, I just bought an infuser to try to drink more water, now just have to decided what to use.. cukes, lemons, fruit? any suggestions out there?

We have brown recluse. Bit one of the mares. Took along time to heal. Boy scared of spiders, bees. BG picks up stuff, including squashed rodents. Ugh

Had rats in the corn crib. Burned them out. Not sure what else. Maybe a rifle?

An infuser sounds good. Don't forget the herbs. Basil tea is a local concoction. Keep us posted!

Getting a pedicure now. Going to look at dogs later. Shelter opens at noon.  Wish me luck.

Good luck with the bisquick. I love it for drop biscuits or cat head biscuits. Those take a stick of butter cut up into little chunks. Yum! Good for pancakes if you have that talent (I don't) and dumplings!

    I'm hungry.

DP, Don't be so sure about no tarantulas; we caught one in our yard in Ok City when I was a kid. Mom was so mad that Dad got close enough to catch it in a jar. Brown recluse are mostly in eastern Washington, but some make it over the pass. Daddy long legs are all over. We just make peace with them. In Houston they would say there are only 5 poisonous snakes in the US. Unfortunately they are all native to Houston. People would bring a snake into the ER saying, this is the one that bit me!

On to happier things. GS just asked us to come for Thanksgiving because DH is such a good cook! Didn't take him long to figure out who brings the pie. Today was the first day of their school and we're heading home this am. We're glad we decided to go back today. Our highway was closed yesterday for about 5 hours due to a car jacker with a gun.

We saw a Jim Jeffries special where he talked about gun control among other things. He is funny. It was on Netflix.

Too early for drinks this morning. I'll bring iced lattes.

I tried the infusor before but I couldn't trick myself with it. Just makes me want iced tea. I'm pretty sure that's what I had in my baby bottles - sweet tea. Been pondering what a good hot tea would be to drink at night. My lungs are crackly and even though it's still 100 degrees, i like to sit on the patio and drink something before bed. All I've had on hand this week is hot chocolate though. Shall I googling cancer curing teas?  Lol. I did see an infrared Chinese sleeping pad on tv last night  the lady said it cured cancer with amethysts but she couldn't answer what infrared light was. It was only $4200 for a king size. Seems like a bargain to me.

Good luck at the shelter zills. Will be looking for puppy pictures from you soon!

I watched a Jim Jeffries special last night. Glad I'm not the only depraved person who finds him funny wren.

Thinking about shaving my head today. It's been so damn hot and my head and neck just sweats and sweats when I sleep. It's gotta go anyway but I do not have a cute gi jane head. In fact, I was mortified by the image of my brain mri. It was just a big fat head!  Maybe I can blame the swelling. Ha

I like the Tazo Zen Green tea with lemongrass and spearmint.
I was raised on sweet tea too. Mom would make a big pot of tea and it was my job to put the sugar in. I think it was 22 teaspoonsful.  I can't drink it sweet anymore. Too used to the unsweet variety.

I just remembered my sister and I used to have an on going bet on the lyrics to ABBA's "Take a Chance on Me"

    I thought the chorus was:

"If the odds are free, take a chance in me."

    She thought it was:

"If the oxen's free, take a chance on me"

    Oxen?? What the??

Anyway we were both wrong. It is:

"If I'm still free, take a chance on me."

Now I challenge you to not think of oxen. Whenever you hear that song now, lol.

Spiders, rats, snakes?  Great bedtime discussions!  I hate them all! We have a problem with mice.  Our property butts up to a farm so wether they are going cotton or soybeans come the harvest and cold weather we have them.  DH was supposed to find the entry point, but hasn't in 6 years!  I have little mouse traps that look like little mouse houses.  I don't even see them unless they have a super long body/tail.  Yup they crawl in, but they don't crawl out, except when my DH tried to reuse one and the mouse tried to escape through the trap door where you put in the food!  I heard the trap snap and when I picked it up the poor thing was trying to get out. How awful!!! I hate mice!  I am not a rodent fan at all.  The first Christmas here my DD told me there was something moving under the tree skirt.  No, I said and started patting the skirt saying see there's nothing here.  Five minutes later a mouse shoots out and runs into the fireplace!  We were not amused! Lol

I hope you have found a brew you like DP.  I have always been partial to lemon lift in the am.  Not a hot tea drinker in the evenings.  I suck down non-sweet iced tea all day!  I have a very large Tervis cup that I carry with me everywhere I go.  Don't know who Jim Jefferies is.  Think I will look him up as I could use a giggle today.  Hope you are enjoying the Piña Coladas-you know I am with you every step of the way!

Oh Zills I can't wait to see black lab puppy pics!  I had a black lab/Newfie named Hank.  He was the best boy in the world!  Kids could climb all over him and he just sat there.  The neighbors called him my yard ornament because he would lie in the front yard with paws crossed watching the kids play in the court.  He was a very mellow fellow until two Rotties jumped through a neighbors window and came after us.  Hank got in front of us and the Rotties turned tail and left.  I think I made him a steak that night!  He lived to be a very old man.  I have some very wonderful memories of him.

Must post this as it is time to check on DD's dog...it's brutal out there!  Hope everyone is staying "cool", or warm down under! Susan

I love lemon Lift.  That's what I usually have in the mornings.  I brew fresh ice tea and drink that all day.  I have a large cup with lid that I carry it around in.

Hank sounds like he was a wonderful dog.  Any pics????

Oh my giddy aunt.  Rats and spiders and mice?  Yuck.  I like my infuser.  I like non-tart things in it, like cucumber or honeydew melon.  I don't like to mix things, however.  I just like all one kind of thing.

How is our DP doing today, you bad-ass?  I must say I could kiss your BF on the lips: he catches damsels, fishes dead rats out of your pool, and takes the puppies to the drive-thru for ice cream!  He is like James Bond.

Z, are you still getting a dog?  Can't wait for an update on this.

Currently I am drinking hot kukicha tea.  That's an excellent hydrator, DP.  Some people mix it half and half with apple juice, then ice it.

that sounds good bobo. Apple juice is my favorite. I'm ok today. A little headachy but not bad. No spills. Grandma brought me a cane. I wouldn't take it in the dr but promised to carry it around the house. Yes bf is that super gentleman guy that ALL the women love.  I met him working for me at my last job. I know - bad bad boss, lol. But I couldn't help it. Anyhow, there were 2500 women in that building and everyone one of them, ages 18 - 70 were all in love. They would all come peeking in the office giggling at him. It was quite comical. He came home from work early today. Didn't say way but I think he just needed to see I was ok and wanted to take me to rads. But I couldn't let the grandparents down. All this bf talk reminds me that I have an appt tomorrow with the divorce lawyer. Yay!  About time. Nothing like procrastinating.  Yes I've been living in sin.  I know everyone has figured it out. Grandparents are over it but my mom pisses me off with the pity party for her SIL. I'm not wasting another day of my life catering to him though, so they can get over it or not.

just got up to a bloody big spider in the house.  I think all this talk about spiders put him there.  Dd shrieking around the kitchen, DS trying to be brave, me shrieking too, trying to keep the pooch from eating it.  I got a long handled broom, opened the sliding doors as wide as they go, then sort of flicked it outside.  I then put a large Tupperware container over it, don't know what to do now tho. Prob just leave it like that until DH gets home tonight.  Eewwww

Morning girls! Twinings English Breakfast Tea, my favorite. I also love one called Buddhas Tears from Tea Time, it is a ball of twigs and herbs that opens like a flower when you pour the water on it. Slightly scented flavor, not something you'd have every day, but lovely as a special tea.

    Gold nuggets Dawny, yes please!

I love your BF too DP, I love a gentleman! Bobo is right he's James Bond!

Sgc, we have blue skies and sunshine today after a shocker of a cold wet day yesterday. I will be able to take our visitors for a look around the place before they head for Melbourne.

Well I have done more baby sniffing than I expected! This baby is gorgeous and she has been in my arms for hours. Not one cry and her parents are so besotted with her, it is a joy to see.

We had  a Vitamix veg soup with shredded chicken, Olive Bread and Roasted Garlic Humous for dinner and Vanilla Slice for dessert. It went over very well!

Andrea, gee thanks for that, Oxen it is now! LOL

Are you girls talking about Jim Jeffries, the Aussie comedian?

I bet I am one of the few Mothers who actually asked my Daughter to pleeeeeeze live in sin, do not get married. I have never been a big believer in "Marriage" per se, have done it for others, not for myself. 2 divorces under my belt, shows that the piece of paper didn't make it any more special for me. I am a  believer in commitment!

Good Luck with the Divorce lawyer DP,I hope it is no stress, just a formality! M x

I lived in sin for 7 years before I got married. But still, being married and living with someone else still feels dirty. It makes for complicated answers to simple questions anyway. It will be nice to live free and open. What better time than now?

No puppy pix. Prefer a young adult. Drank so much I had to pee at every shelter. Several labs but all 7+. Don't want them to go soon. Not sure an older dog can handle noisy kids. Lots of pits at one. One looked like Dex but he was pending. Hate, hate shelters.

I like sleepy time tea at night. It's good for a wonky stomach and good iced. No caffeine. I was raised on sweet tea. Grandma used 1.5 cups per 2qts. I like mcdonalds unsweet now. Most sweetened tea gives me a headache.
