I got my tattoo last week & put bacitracin & gauze on it for 4 days & it was still there. Maybe it went down the bathtub drain???  I am baffled!

Happy Birthday, dear Jeannie!  I hope this next year brings buckets of healing, joy, and peace.

I've been off the grid for a few days.  We're in Colorado with family.  I'm keeping up with reading, just behind in saying hello.  It SNOWED here last night.  It was so beautiful, with the pines looking like they'd been dusted with sugar and the clouds low and cozy.  I know you cold-weather girls are rolling your eyes, but this is like fairyland for me.

    Happy Sunday, everyone!

Thanks for all the birthday wishes! If I could, I would gather you all up and stretch my arms around you in a big hug!  I have been spoiled, the Seahawks won, and now we are going out to dinner to Benihana's. I will celebrate being alive, my flat tummy, my new boobs and being loved. I am rich in blessings.

Help. I wouldn't bother you all here, but my husband needs reassurance.

Okay, I have an important question for all ladies who ever suffered with iron bra before they had their diep.  My husband and I are at our wits end with my situation as it is right now.  I have suffered with iron bra since the day I woke up from my bmx with expanders back in April.  I suggested to him that we might open the door to thinking about diep again since this new surgeon is very open to working on women with not a lot of body fat, and since I have gained some weight I could very well be a good candidate for him to do surgery. My husbands biggest fear is that the iron bra would not go away even with diep.  I told him I had posted the question to the forum a long time ago, and the response I got was overwhelmingly "yes" my iron bra went away.  Some of you didn't even realize it till I brought it up.  I was hoping some of you might chime in again, and help us add a pro to our pro and con list.

My only two resolutions for the coming year:

    1. Make it as positive and healthy a year as I possible can....

    2. Make each day a little bit more in the direction of "Moving On".

Will there be bumps in the road.....yep. That's life, right! But I figure if we got through 2013.....we can do just about anything!

There is a yoga "story" about the consequences of holding on to things. Villagers in India catch monkeys by putting rice inside of a heavy container, that has a hole just big enough for the monkey to reach into it with his hand. But when the monkey grabs the rice, his fist is too big to fit back out the opening. The monkeys that won't let go of the rice, are stuck, because even though it's unhealthy to do so, they just won't leave the rice behind. The monkeys that let go of the rice.....are able to scamper away to "enjoy another day".

The motto of the story........In order to move along in life, you have to learn when to "let go of the rice".

edited to change "trapped message" to more gentle words....to help janetm Nerdy!

Love your monkey & the rice analogy, nihanii.   And yes, there are bumps in the road throughout this journey. My last "bump" is that I lost my bump when my origami nipple flattened to nothing - ha!  Sometimes we have to laugh to keep from crying!

Nihahi - I like your two resolutions. I feel the same way.  I must confess though - I only skimmed your story because seeing the word 'trapped' and 'monkey' in the same sentence hurt my heart. Still - I bet it was good one. And so I'm offering up my favourite story. It's quite well known and may have appeared on these boards at some point in some version. It's not about monkey's, but monks:

Two traveling monks reached a river where they met a young woman. Afraid of the current, she asked if they could carry her across. One of the monks hesitated, but the other quickly picked her up and onto his shoulders, carried her across the water, and set her down on the other side. She thanked him, and left.

As the monks continued on their way, the one monk was  brooding and preoocupied. Finally he said, 'Brother, our spiritual training teaches us to avoid any contact with woman, but you picked her up and carried her'.

'Brother,' the second monk replied, 'I only carried her across the river. You've been carrying her all day.'

I love this story. My brain is my worst enemy for sure. The stuff that goes on there is almost always worse than the actual event - and that goes for everything from dinner with my in-laws, to DIEP.

    Janet

PS I had a runs-ins with some very vicious monkey's in Thailand and I STILL can't read the story. (And I also encountered some very nice monks).

Good morning, gloobsters!  Since we're sharing inspirational stories, I have one too:

"As a bagpiper, I play many gigs. Recently I was asked by a funeral director to play at a graveside service for a homeless man. He had no family or friends, so the service was to be at a pauper's cemetery in the Nova Scotia back country.

As I was not familiar with the backwoods, I got lost and, being a typical man, I didn't stop for directions.

I finally arrived an hour late and saw the funeral guy had evidently gone and the hearse was nowhere in sight. There were only the diggers and crew left and they were eating lunch. I felt bad and apologized to the men for being late.

I went to the side of the grave and looked down and the vault lid was already in place. I didn't know what else to do, so I started to play.

The workers put down their lunches and began to gather around. I played out my heart and soul for this man with no family and friends. I played like I've never played before for this homeless man.  And as I played "Amazing Grace", the workers began to weep. They wept, I wept, we all wept together. When I finished, I packed up my bagpipes and started for my car. Though my head was hung low, my heart was full.

As I opened the door to my car, I heard one of the workers say, "I never seen nothing like that before and I've been putting in septic tanks for twenty years."

    Apparently I'm still lost....it's a man thing."

And I'm back home in sunny SoCal after a lovely weekend in Colorado.  We actually shoveled snow from my sister-in-law's driveway.  Good times!

Started off the new year with a looooong walk with hubby. 2" of fresh powder snow fell last night, and today was blue skies and sunshine, with NO WIND, and decent temperatures. The best thing about the walk.....a bald eagle flew right overhead....yep.....it's going to be a good year!!!

So jealous.  We are gray, rainy, overcast which sends my  dh to bed (traumatic arthritis in all joints).  So I spent the first day of the new year working on our personal accounting - spending, etc.  Too depressing.  Tomorrow - a walk.  Maybe I'll even see a birdie.

    Nahahi- That sounds so peaceful!

We had some friends and family over and played Trivia Pursuit. It was boys vs. girls and the girls won, yay!  Also, my dh landed a great commercial contract out at the beach so our year is starting out awesome!  Happy new year gals!

Go Blue!  I mean...Go Green!  Yay Michigan!

We went to see "Philomena" this morning, and then went to our DS's house to make clam chowder.  It feels a little silly making hearty, creamy soup when it's seventy degrees outside, but whatever.

Nihani, I envy your beautiful, snowy walk and your bald eagle.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!  Here's to healthy, happy days!

    Love to all.
