    Good morning!!

I had such a crazy week I had NO TIME to go to Crazy Town. Those boys kept me hopping. They all went to the beach this morning, and I just didn't have the steam left to go today.

Lucy, thank you for your kind words. I'm sorry you lost your mum at such a young age. So difficult for a girl losing her mum so early. That is great you had that time with your dad. My dad always said he would go out walking, and he was true to his word. My kids loved having him live with us. It's nice that our kids have those wonderful memories. I hope you had a great time having lunch with your little ones!! Also hope the time with your DH's parent was fun!!

Rain, I think those are the most difficult stories for me. Hearing of women that passed away before getting to raise their children. It is just heartbreaking. Greens and cottage cheese??? I must say that sounds kinda gross to me!!! hahaha I don't think I will take on my DD's eating habits. I just don't think I'll ever eat pig's feet and knuckles!!! Seriously though....it's nice you can eat those things and think of him!! The Hong Kong Dragon Boat festival looks like a lot of fun!! I'm glad you had such a good time!! Thanks for posting the pics. I love looking at pictures!!!

Ducky, I hope this sale goes quickly for you, so you can move on and get some rest. Those memories are all in your head and will always be with you. That is the wonderful thing about memories, they never go away. I think you should go at your own pace and not let anyone make you walk if you're hurting too much. I used to feel really uncomfortable using my wheelchair. But then I realized I wouldn't be able to do some of the things I do with my DD without it. So I try and swallow my pride and let her push me around. It took me a long time to let her do that. I kind of like the idea of it looking like you have a load on!!! hahaha....it reminds me of your solo cups!!! I want my youth back too!!!

Sula, sometimes our parent's are just too stubborn for their own good. In the end they are our parent's, and we just have to let them do what they want. My dad put up a little fuss coming to live with me after my mom passed away, but I knew he didn't want to be alone. Plus he had the kids to keep him company. If he really insisted like your dad did, I probably would have complied with his wishes. It is shocking when we lose them quickly. My mom passed from Lou Gehrig's disease, and that was a long drawn out process which lasted about 3-4 years. It was difficult watching her suffer. I guess NO WAY is a good way to lose our parents. That dessert looks so incredible!! One day I'd love to taste one of your desserts!!! If you're every in the LA area, let us know. We will come meet you somewhere for lunch!!

PTS, I hope you found your toolbars!!! I will be happy to help as much as I can with any computer problems you have. I can usually figure most things out if it is windows based. Hope you're feeling better from your chiro visit, and I hope today's visit goes well!!

I guess I better try and get something done around this house. There are toys everywhere!!!!

Oh yeah.....I forgot to tell you all!!!!!....I got a new addition to the family this weekend!!! Meet our new boy....Murphy. We went to PetSmart to get our younger dog trimmed for the summer, and we left with Murphy. Poor dogs owner passed away a month ago, and he went to a shelter and then ended up being picked up by a rescue group. He has been through so much in the past month. The resuce group said he has been very depressed. You all know what a sucker I am!!! I just couldn't say no. All weekend long he had belly rubs, kids to play with and my big dopey dog to run around in the backyard with. He growled and snapped at Jax at the beginning, but they seem
to be becoming friends. He doesn't seem depressed anymore!!! He is a beagle/jack russell mix.

Been doing the chiropractor for my horrible back pain, dang but it is helping! much less pain, have been taking an anti inflamatore that doc gave me as spine guy things it is inflammation from the injury remaining as I can not take NSAIDS. Well definitely getting relief and keeping fingers crossed. Course if I had not been so stubborn maybe I would have gone sooner

Slow.. Murphy is just lovely.!! I bet he's one happy chappy that you are his new Mummy :-) It does take a little while for a new doggie to settle in with an existing one.. a few grumbles here and there, until the pecking order is sorted.!!

Sula. Thinking of you at the Obgyn. Seriously...sometimes I wish I was born a male.!! Although... maybe a prostate test isn't much fun either. 😱

Yesterday the Brisbane show was on.. Hubby and I went as he wanted to see the chooks and ducks pavilion.. It was quite fun really.. I love looking at the decorated cakes as well.. My daughter cooks and decorates wedding cakes... Also some of the ring events were exciting.. blokes on motor bikes doing somersaults in the air.! We left with heaps of show -bags and fairy -floss for the grand -babies !!

Slow, Murphy is adorable! As for cottage cheese and greens: I've been craving cottage cheese since this whole chemo adventure started, so it doesn't seem too odd to me. I like the mild saltiness much more than yogurt these days.

Lucy: vocabulary: what are chooks? And fairy-floss?

rainnyc..I've just done a spot of research on my trusted friend google...and I think fairy -floss is what you may call "cotton candy " ?? ... and chooks are chickens.!!!

Lucy, it never occurred to me that people wouldn't know the term chooks haha, it must be an antipodean thing. Mind you Aussies and Kiwis have their own words for things that need translating to each other too.

I went for a check up at my PS office last week, following fat grafting two weeks before. It was only to see the nurse (I have an appointment to see the PS in a couple of weeks), for her to check the wound sites etc,and she had a feel around the foob. I told her that there were a few lumps which were fat necrosis and she said she had never felt lumps like that before and needed to check with a doctor! How can a nurse in a plastic surgery clinic that does heaps of breast surgeries, not know what fat necrosis is or what it feels like?! Of course she spoke to a doctor who confirmed that that is what it was. Lucky I was pretty confident about it or I would have gotten a fright with her reaction

Sula, Ugh, the ob/gyn. Almost my least favorite specialty. Right after GI and colonoscopy docs. Hope all went well. Love your food stories and pictures.

Slow, beautiful dog. I know you are enjoying your family, but don't overdo. We need you here.

Ducky, Thinking of you preparing to sell the beach house (that's California for your shore house).

I think of myself as a cool cucumber when it comes to stressing over scans. Well, that seems to be a joke. I'm to have a hip MRI tomorrow evening and I've had to pee every 15 minutes all day. Hope I can sleep tonight.

Here's to fairy floss and chooks. Good night all, Jan

Jan.. Thinking of you.. hope ypur MRI goes well.. We'll all be in your pocket !

PTS, I use the browser Firefox. If that is where you lost your toolbar, you can go to view and toolbars and check which toolbar you want to use. Most browsers should be the same. If you let me know your specific browser, I can give you better instructions.

Sula, hope all went well with your OBGYN yesterday. Thinking of you.

Lucy, Murphy is doing great. My other two dogs don't like being in the house. So it's nice to finally have one that prefers being inside. He fit right in....he is starting to get along well with my other young dog. They even played a little yesterday!! The chook and duck pavilion sounds like a blast!! I love, love looking at baby ducks. There is a local store we go to just to see the baby ducks and chicks.

Kathy, I think Murphy has settled in more quickly than any other dog I've gotten. It's like he has always lived here.

SuzyBlue, Welcome to this thread!!! So glad you found us. Wow, how weird that a PS nurse wouldn't know about fat necrosis. Maybe they don't work with a lot of BC patients????

JAN, Thanks for the kind words. I'm trying really hard not to overdo, but it's difficult when they are only here two weeks. The kids want to do all the old things we used to do. They are back at my sister's now, so I get a chance to get a little rest. The older boy asked me if he can just stay with me the whole time. hahaha I told him he has to spend time with his Grammy (my sister) because she has missed him like crazy. The younger boy threw a temper tantrum yesterday when he didn't get his way. I must say, I don't have ANY experience with temper tantrums and I didn't know what to do!! I asked his brother to do something for me and the younger brother quickly ran to the game his brother was playing. I told him he would have to wait his turn and he got VERY upset and just cried and cried for twenty minutes. A very LOUD cry. At first I said let's go take a little nap (I think he was really tired) and tried to get him to come upstairs to rest. He refused to budge. Then I decided the rest of us would go outside and left him in the house to cry. I told him to let us know when he was all finished. We were out there for half a minute and then he stopped. My kids never threw temper tantrums and it totally stressed me out!! Then he told me he thought his batteries had run low!! hahaha That cracked me up!

We are all in your pocket tonight for your hip MRI. Please let us know how it goes. I hope you were able to get some rest last night, and didn't visit Crazy Town!

I hope everyone has a pain, stress free day today!! Love to all!!!

Beppy, that was brilliant! What a good way to help someone get over a tantrum! I love it!

Thinking of you, SulaDog, hope it all went without a hitch yesterday. Not my favorite exam, either. I just want them to hurry up with the 'beam me up, Scottie' medical scanner. I forget what it was called. Transponder? And then it fixes you too.

On another thread, A woman had posted a picture of herself after chemo had started, and then just a year or so later, and it gave me an idea, and with your help, if you would like to, I am thinking about doing an exhibit for October's pink festivities (yeah, right) showing graphic depictions of the ravages to our faces and necks! From before and after treatments. I never really thought of myself as vain, but apparently, I must be! Because I am really none too pleased what with treatments did to me. What doesn't show is bad enough, but I ain't loving my neck at all! It's much worse than Norah Ephrons'!!! I have been trying to get my art mojo on, and it gave me a spark when she posted! So if you think you might want to be a part of this, please let me know!

Beppy, do you think this is a good idea? Should I start a thread for this?

Love to all, I have been very busy, it seems i am only on the computer for a few minutes at a time, and then not again till hours later! But then I finally catch up to you all at night before sleeping!

PTS, I must have been typing when you posted. In IE you can just put your cursor at the top of the screen....the gray area on mine....then right click on your mouse or track pad, and you will see an option for toolbars. You should be able to turn them back on there. Hope that helps!! Enjoy your druggist!! haha

What a darling--can't tell for sure from the photo, but is there a chance she's to be a redhead?

Miss those days of having one like that at home (but funnily enough, do not miss the sleepless nights!). Enjoy every single cuddle!

Aylson, good luck on the back stuff, finally went to a chiro and now in love! no cracking of bones but sort of what I think of as deep tissue s massage. No pain pills after 3 sessions, rained today but only a tad stiff.

I will send you to my lovely chiro and hope all goes well for you

PTS, I am happy to help in any way I can. My 6-year-old nephew taught me how to use Google Hangouts. This new generation has been raised with tablets and know more than we do at times. I'm so happy to hear that the chiro is helping you!

Alyson, Evie Marian Jane is just beautiful. I could just squeeze those cute little cheeks!! Hope they find a solution for your back pain. I think we are all slowly falling apart.

She is just the prettiest baby. Congratulations!

Speaking of falling apart, I feel today that I've aged at least a decade since December. My mind still feels young, but the continuing post mastectomy pain and now either leftover chemo pain or new Tamoxifen ailments have me unable to walk upright. I'm like cro magnum woman.
