    Crazy town...

crazy terrible train accident this morning about 25 miles from here....I-5 (southbound) HAS BEEN CLOSED SINCE 7:30 AM Today....the trains maiden PASSENGER run, a commuter train Seattle to Portland Oregon, going around a curve, and crossing over the interstate on a trestle, crashed off and hit cars and a semi truck....holidays spoiled for all the people injured and killed and their families....13 of 14 train cars

the state patrol said they could hear people trapped in the train cars, but they could not get to them in the crumpled train cars and then the crying stopped......

    SO SO SAD!

    Di

When I heard about the accident, I immediately got in contact with my relatives and friends that live out that way to see if they were okay. All are safe.

Mommy..regarding the shots hurting a bit: I had to get neupogen shots in the tummy during chemo, (hubby gave them to me: you are braver than me to do it yourself!) and I found it REALLY helped with pain when hubby warmed up the needle a bit first...my recollection is that he held it in the palm of his hand to warm it (the needles were kept in fridge, so he also took them out of fridge a few minutes before shot). Hope that might help you! Sending hugs!!!

Found a recipe for Joe Frogger cookies. My hubby loves them. For those who have never heard of them they are a molasses style cookie that originated in New England.

ducky b1 - So nice to see your lovely family pictures.  We are expecting grandchild number 3 in February.  We cannot wait!

Well tomorrow morning is my big day where I meet the surgeon and get my core biopsy results.  I already know that I have mucinous carcinoma in my right breast as a result of aspiration.  Now I wait to see if the area they found on the left side is also cancer.  It has been a tough month waiting for this appointment and results.  I am so anxious to know what kind of surgery, treatment, pathology info, when the surgery will be.....and on and on.  I have lost 10 pounds during this last month because I am so nervous.  I have a great appetite, so I am eating well.

I need to make my list of questions tonight.  Any suggestions on questions I should ask, beyond the obvious?

Gma, my family loves oatmeal chocolate chip cookies!! Tessie I will be in your pocket for your appointment. I hope someone is going with you. It's helpful to have a second set of ears.

Thank you Molly50.  One of my sisters is coming along with me.  At the biopsy appointment they told me too to bring someone along for this appointment.   Although this sister of mine is a HIGHLY emotional person so I'm not sure how much she will absorb!  But it will be helpful just having her there for support.  I will make notes and ask for copies of my results.

Thank you for your support Lucy 55.  I truly appreciate all of you on this forum.  Right now I'm not even thinking of myself.  Just got home from sitting with my mother who is on her death bed.  She went to bed yesterday (at the nursing home where she resides) and never woke up today.  Her body isn't moving but yet she hears me when I speak to her, some of the time.  I was able to give her some ice chips and she opened her eyes twice, but only for a second.  When it rains it pours.  Just yesterday I was feeding her lunch.  For her to pass, would be a blessing since she has suffered with dementia for the past 2 years.  Although she has always still known me.  No quality of life left and I told her it was ok to go cause Dad is waiting for her and they can spend Christmas together in heaven.  I hope things don't turn worse that I need to be there and at my appointment in the morning.  I told my sister that it is ok and I can go alone tomorrow if she wants to be with mom.  I would never want to take that away from her.  Yes I needed a distraction today, but not exactly something like this.  Thanks again to all of you for your support.  I will check in tomorrow to let you know my results.

Hello ChiSandy,  I'm not sure what your reply means, I am new to this forum.  It has been a very hard day and now my problems seem very small in comparison to what is happening with my Mom.
