edj3, what a sweet face he has!!! Reminds me of my Rudy, who had a sweet face but was a curmudgeon. He belonged to a kitty “gang”. You would see them traveling down the street together. So funny to watch. HeLOVED our neighbor, and whenever he saw her outside he would go flying over there and rub all over her. When she came to visit he would jump in her lap and purr. We called her his girlfriend.

Can you separate them part of the day somewhere where they can sniff under the door?

They do that. Then she pees on stuff in the room she’s confined in. I sort of suspect a UTI or something else. There is a box for her in the main room they use.

Any time an adult cat starts peeing everywhere, they need to be checked for a UTI. Is there another animal in the house that's newish? It could also be territorial marking in that case. But start with the UTI. Our instructor described it as: It hurt when I peed in the box so I'll pee somewhere else. Oh no, it hurt there too. There must be somewhere I can pee where it won't hurt.

    No, it’s just the 2 cats, he’s been there 2-3 years, she’s about 8.

Yogatyme - you are so lucky, I'd go!!! Mommy of 2 - too funny!

We had a somewhat grown kitten visit our front porch yesterday. I had to put out the food bowl. I need to get our male tomcat fixed, just in case that is a girl!!! I've made numerous appointments and he goes on adventures, will try again.

I was trying to cut Gradys toenails yesterday and we were having our usual battle. Dawson (one of the dogs) came over and rubbed his face on Gradys face and I couldn’t believe it.....Grady calmed completely down and let me clip his nails without a single complaint! Dawson now has a new “chore”.

spookiesmom, She looks like my Felix. She suffers from cat anxiety, I think. Went from meowing at night to chewing. She hates Louie and we have had him nearly 4 years.

It has gotten windy up here since the rain stopped this morning. My girls have been sitting in the back window and watching the leaves blow around.

There's a few meds that work pretty well for anxiety in cats. I remember a woman at the vet with her cat saying it was like a different cat once they tried the meds.

I do use Rescue Remedy in their water (I have two that struggle), although someone has mentioned not to use that because of alcohol - I am not certain if there is alcohol in it or not, I think some do not have alcohol in it. My vet also recommended those pheromone collars, and we keep those on them too (not 100% sold on that yet, but seems as though things get worse when I don't have them).

I've seen prozac and ativan used for cats. Very small doses, I'm sure. There may be others as well.

The shelter officers picked up a stray very fancy breed cat. Turned out the owner was away and he got away from the cat sitter. I'll bet the sitter had a huge sign of relief when they realized he'd been found. We knew something was up because people with this breed do not let them outside. The cat was lucky too. We have a lot of coyotes in town.

Lucky cat, indeed. We have a local shelter that has a beautiful purebred ragdoll mama & her kittens - taken in from a breeder who went out of business. Re: coyotes - DH came across one on his daily walk a couple of days ago! I would be scared to pieces.

Incidentally, I use Rescue Remedy spray for myself & it does have some alcohol in it.

Love the cat pics, ladies. Miss my two dear departed ones.

I see coyotes sometimes on my runs--a couple of times I've seen foxes too. They're all so beautiful!

I would think that a few drops of rescue remedy would be ok, even if it does have a little alcohol. Do you put it in their water or food?

I used rescue remedy on my dog. I just put the dropper in the side of his mouth. Not a full dropper😂

Good morning. I love the cat pictures. I wake up and turn on the internet just to see them. LOL The coyotes had something last night. They were very close to the house. My babies were safe inside.

Grady has learned that when he hears the dogs cookie jar being opened to come running for his snack, too! Funny little cat!
