Oh, wow, Iaastra - you captured my Claire so perfectly! You are obviously very talented. I can't wait to see some of your work when you are getting back to it (if you are willing to share, of course!)
...and ditto towards Shelley on the congratulations regarding the award. Neat to have a close connection to a real part of our history as well, and praying for you!

laastra! Amazing! I see my cute little sully the Boston there. That is just incredible work. I have zero drawing talent.
Shellybeans! You got this girl, you and vicwytch and goin75 are in our thoughts! May you get a good nights sleep and be ready to kick that stupid cancers butt tomorrow!
Heck yeah annoyingboob! Road trip! I wish we could all meet up somewhere someday. That would be so awesome! Let's get our fighting with cancer done and maybe have that as a nice thought to look forward to. I need to win the lottery and fly all my new friends to the cabanas!

Wow! I took the weekend off to visit my dad and it took me quite some time to read all of your posts! You ladies have been busy. I also couldn't believe how much I missed this thread. Someone put it perfectly, "it's like reading in real time" and I find that so helpful.
Vicwytch, goingon75, and ShellyBeans - your day has finally arrived! Prayers for uneventful surgeries, speedy recoveries and fast turnaround times on reports!
Special welcome also to the new members of this awesome group . I know you will find support, answers and sincere friendships. Even if you don't post often (like myself!), just reading these posts will give you knowledge and strength to face this awful disease we all find ourselves confronted with.
I meet with RO Tuesday and MO the following week. Anxious to get the "plan" in place. Have a beautiful week everyone!

hello ladies! Drains have been behaving, but discovered I had the mother of all strep throats, so was back to the ER again today to deal with that... I have to say, they pumped me full of all kinds of drugs, and am more comfortable tonight than I have been since before surgery. Hoping for a good nights sleep...ai need it

dcbc, rest up!! There have been lots of yucky germs goin round. I'm finally recovering from being sick all last week and I just keep hearing more and more people getting sick! So sorry for you but hope those antibiotics take care of it fast!
Ladies, am I imagining it or was there someone else with cording? I think someone said they had but wasn't painful? I was just researching because some might remember that I had the seroma on my armpit (still do but it's gone down some) and pain running down the inside of my arm to the elbow. It has gotten worse and I'm now over 3 weeks from surgery. It is painful to touch my arm in that area. I guess there is physical therapy you can do but I need more doctors appts like another hole in the head! Some believe you can just leave it alone and it resolves it self usually in months but can last a year or more. Ummm... I want to get back to yoga!! I cannot even straighten my left arm so a little frustrated! End of rant

Vicwytch, goingon75, and ShellyBeans, good luck tomorrow! 👊

Thanks to all of you for the positive thoughts for tomorrow. So ready to have this behind me and have read through all of the posts as a reminder of some of the obstacles that can arise and how to handle them. My surgery is not until tomorrow afternoon so not sure what time I will be joining all of you for that drink. Don't do alcohol so make mine a virgin pina colada. My faith is still stronger than my fear and I refuse to borrow trouble from tomorrow. Can't change anything so I am totally in the hands of the Great Physician.

Hello to all of you girls.

You are awesome.

So much to say after my post op malaise... but finally coming out of the fog, so trying to catch up on everyone! First, its a banner morning cause not only did the poop fairy arrive, but I realized my wooziness today was due to hunger! I actually did a happy dance, nearly shouting "I'm hungryIm actually hungry!" As I type, my husband has just placed a tray on my lap (never liked breakfast in bed until this very moment) with fried rice and coffee... breakfast of champs, I guess.
Second, good luck to everyone this morning ...hope I don't miss anyone -- vicwytch, goingon75, ShelleyBeans, & Sarovzky YOUVE GOT THIS! I think it was day 4 post surgery that I turned to my mother, with some surprise, actually, and said "hey, I don't have cancer in my body"... might have been a wee premature (get my path report on the 2nd), but it put things in perspective... you guys will rock it.
Third, some general comments on recent posts... fightingirl, I posted on your cording question in the AWS thread... feel free to pm me or ask anything. I was pretty distraught about it initially (I am fairly athletic as well), but with excellent PT have gotten through it in about a month.... and yoga will be your friend once you gain some mobility.
Laastra, your drawings are beautiful!!! What a talent!
I know I've missed lots of stuff, but breakfast awaits... IM HUNGRY!!! Yeah

Hi all! Just got home from my SAVI catheter placement and initial treatment (partial breast radiation). Hopefully the rest of the week goes as smoothly as this morning did. I am also hoping that the antibiotics they gave me kills whatever germ I picked up causing this congestion and cough! The purpose however is to ensure I don't get an infection in the open wound...
One down, nine to go
For for those who wanted details, there is a SAVI thread on the radiation board where I am being more descriptive.

yay pyrrh!! Glad it was smooth sailing! You go back this afternoon also, right? Or was today just catheter placement? Either way, good luck!! My simulation is Wednesday - eek!!
All you ladies getting sick - take care of yourselves!! I wonder if it's bc everyone is starting to leave the house and get up and about and venture into the world. That's a good thing, but just wash your hands a lot bc we are still healing! I did Pilates this am and everyone uses those antibacterial wipes to clean off the machine before and after. Good idea!!
And hunger is good too!! I swear I ate nothing but ice cream sandwiches for 2 weeks postop, but I'm back in my healthy groove and happy to snack on fresh beets from a local farm - so good! Gorgeous sun here today. May sun and and warmth bless all my sisters. Continued healing and fingers crossed for drains out!!
Xx

best of news! BS just called, pathology from surgery all good... no additional infiltration of ILC, and right breast/node totally clean! No chemo or radiation for me!!! Feel so lucky. Meet with her Thursday to make a plan for next steps -- some type of hormone blocker, I suspect -- but that last bit of anxiety re: lurking lesions is gone. What a relief! Drinks at the cabana for everyone, on ME

Saw my oncologist (sorry, not up on the abbreviations) on Friday and now have to wait another 2 weeks for the oncodx results before they decide if I am to have chemo before radiation! I had a huge melt down, which first one in weeks. My husband and I had a pity party on Friday night and drank a bottle of wine! This whole process is Very Frustrating and I feel like my life is on hold. I have always planned things well in advance and may have to cancel three trips that we had scheduled. I am in awe of all the ladies on here and how you are handling things. It makes things easier to read what everyone is going through! I may not respond to each post, but they are very comforting to see everyone on here and what they are doing! KEEP FIGHTING!!

Wow, lots of news this afternoon. dcbc and Elem, great news on the clean nodes! Let's open a nice cold bottle of Chardonnay and toast to all the beautiful women on this thread!
I saw my plastic surgeon today and I do have a seroma, which I had suspected all along. He tried to drain it, but apparently couldn't find the pocket of fluid so he left it alone in order to avoid any possible infection (he said he likes to leave them alone generally because they act as natural expanders of the skin on that side). He pushed 100ml more saline into my TE's and I feel like a little girl (remember Mike Meyers on SNL? No? - ok, I'm really dating myself, lol). I have nice perky A cups now that make my big post chemo belly look a tad bit smaller. I gained about 10 pounds, now I have to really try hard to lose that plus 15lbs more. Back to work tomorrow, then another Herceptin infusion on Friday. Arggh, I can't wait for all this to be over! Glad I have you gals to see me through.
Cheers!
Angie

dcbc and elem, YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! So happy for you both!
fightinggma, I know how you feel. It is tough waiting. I and other are still waiting too and like you...I love to be very planned and organized so this has thrown my world upside down and inside out. The only thing to really be in awe of here is the love and support because I'm pretty sure each lady has had their own type of meltdown a time or two. I just had one on Friday! I dropped soup that splattered all over my garage floor and all that was pent up came out. I did exactly as you but the hubby and I opened a bottle of Prosecco and turned the night around. We are right there with you sister!! Try your best to keep busy and not let it consume you...I know that is so much easier said than done. Hugs.

We are here for you Angie! haha...Now I'm as happy as a little girl!

I'm happy for all of those with clear margins and negative nodes.
To those going for surgery, I'm praying for all of you and your fast recovery. You are all brave. And you don't know how much you all inspired me. I wish someday I could inspire others too.
My BMX is on Friday, feb3. Today I went to shop for post mastectomy camisole. I only bought 1 as I don't know if I really need it at home or the button down shirt with pockets are ok.
And for the first time, when the lady who helped me asked when is my surgery, I was able to tell her my story without crying.
Knowing all you're stories and what you're going through makes me stronger and I know I am not alone in this situation. Thank you ladies.
I am looking forward to joinyou in the cabanas this weekend.

Thank You Angie ,Fightingirl and all my ladies here. This fight is a tough one , but we are so fortunate that no one fights alone and we have this amazing support from the most powerful women I have ever come across. The meltdowns arevprobably necessary , and having them is being human. Once again , thanks you all for your love and support . Chardonnay .. yes ! Take care of the seroma , I think your body will absorb it , but it can be a pain . I had something like that after athyroidectomy in 2014. It looked like I had an adams apple!

Just checking back in since this morning. So good to read good reports for a few of you who have been waiting. I haven't even had surgery yet and the waiting is already getting to me!
Annoyingboob, glad you were finally able to tell your parents. I still haven't told mine yet. I am hoping when I do it goes as well as for me. Minus showing my boob..lol
I did go by my PCP office yesterday. I have some nasal drainage and it is making my throad sore. I got some black elder berry syrup and echinacea. I asked the doctor if that was okay and he said yes he highly recommended it. I took two doses of Echinacea yesterday and one teaspoon of black elderberry syrup. Then this morning I look at my pre-op sheet and it says no herbal treatments 2 weeks before or after surgery! Freaked me out just a little bit! They clearly told me no aspirin Tylenol anything like that two weeks before but they did not tell me vitamin E or herbal supplements. So I'm a little mad at myself for looking at the sheet closer. So now shit fairy is running wild and free in my head! I keep telling her come on...it was 2 capsules 2 times and ONLY a teaspoon of syrup but that bitch will not let it go!
To all you girls who have an occasional break down. We all are entitled to one when we need one!
To all you feeling foggy...I brush my teeth with someone else tooth brush! Not even close to the same color or even one that's close to where I keep mine. Then I looked for my Fitbit (I'm a bit of an addict ) and couldn't find it! I'm frantically searching then I think maybe I threw it down the laundry shoot with my clothes. Nope....it was in my hand the while time! SMH! Feel free to chuckle at my foggy times!
Freezing cold here today and tomorrow. Had just a dusting of snow but it's gone now.
Sending love to you all!

Well Pyrrh & Fightingirl, I put a call into my RO to ask him (specifically) about the possibility of brachytherapy... crossing my fingers!!
dcbc - So happy for you! I want all of you lovely ladies to avoid chemo if possible!
FightingGMA -so sorry that you have to wait! I think we should just start a group called "The Waiting Room"
DocMama - I have so little experience with wine but I am all for popping a cork in celebration! Glad that you have some bumps... you've earned them! I also have a seroma, and they had to drain 200 cc last week (that is what your Dr put in to your TEs combined!) Unfortunately, it has filled up again (though not nearly as big) and I am going in again on Wednesday. I need to get my girls back to where they are the same size! Not sure if you've had any SE on the Herceptin, but I've done much better this round than last one (not sure if it was just a hold over from everything or not).
Keep those chins up Ladies! We've got this!

yay for good path reports!!!
Gma, I'm a planner too. I totally get your frustration!! I was supposed to spend this year in France. Was all ready to go for January, then this. Boo. At least I escaped their freezing cold winter, but trading that in for breast cancer and having to listen to trump all the time, well, not exactly winning. But, Im lucky to have the opportunities I have. To live in a country with excellent health care and have the independence and freedom to take advantage of that I see as a privilege. So it may not have been plan a, but I'll roll out plan b and still feel fortunate.
Continued good results for all of you! Bummer about seroma- it's turning into your 3rd boob!! Here's hoping it gets resorbed quickly!
Xx

doc mama - you are on the home stretch - it cant be much longer now - walk me through your final steps, bc technically, you got the all clear, right? at least that must be SOME kind of comfort? or are you just totally spent and done. like get me back to regular life NOW!?!
