Micmel, You have a beautiful family and you are just beautiful! How many dogs do you have? Love the trash can lid on dehogee!

Grannax2, Love the old dresses. My grandmother used to make all of our easter dresses and I loved them.

I never had children, but my nephew and I are as close as we can possible be. Here is his prom pic with his best friend. Love him so much!!!!!

Robin~Look at the handsome youth in those smiles. He’s going to be a heart breaker. Such a baby face still, I hope he finds a nice woman who treats him right. Or auntie Robin may have a word or two for her! He look so like a sweet young man. I at one point was very close to My nieces And nephews. Saw them every week. I understand that love. Lol @ the trash can lid on Deeohgee’s Head! He is a hunter alright. I have two dogs myself and then my sons BFF has a Saint Bernard, that is my Grand baby! I see him weekly weather permitting. He’s now a horse! My other dog Tag is a rescue. He’s an old man now. But a very loyal good dog from the start. Love him dearly, he’s my DH’s dog but I keep him here with me. We have two houses. One here and One in Maryland. The house in Maryland is sold and closes March 27. Three days. Before my surgery so it’s busy month for sure. I’ll post s pic of Tag! He’s. Good dog. He had the old man greys now though! Goo to see you Robin! You’re the one who is beautiful! That pic of you and your doggie. Is gorgeous! Not to mention the wedding photo with Dad! Mwah! Gorgeous! ~M~

imageimageimageimageimageimage.....here is one of Tag with my Daughter! He’s a good car rider. Well used to be anyway now his legs are catching up with him. I give him joint pills. It seems to be helping a lot. The top is him also taking a nap. Deeohgee is a poser he loves his pic taken. And the huge one is Chief my grand baby!! Love the doggies ! ~M~

    Micmel,

What kind of surgery are you having? All your babies are just too cute!!!! I love the christmas lights on Deeohgee!!!

Willy is a Terrier mix that I rescued from Gatlinburg. When the fires broke out.... there were so many displaced and lost dogs coming into the main facility they set up at the fairgrounds to handle all of the incoming animals. There were dogs, cats, horses, and even a pig. A lot of the animals were reunited with their owners, but sadly a lot were not. I volunteered nightly for about 2 weeks, walking dogs and cleaning cages. I walked Willy and he was just so obedient and sweet. He was 4 months old at the time. No one claimed him so they put him up for adoption. They said first come first serve, so I got to the shelter before they even opened and 3 other people had already been there waiting. About 60 people showed up to adopt Willy, so the shelter said they would take the first 4 people there and let them fill out the application, and if all 4 were approved, they would go to names in a hat for the 4. Well I won the dog lottery as my name was pulled out of the hat. I was worried about adopting such a young dog because he may outlive me. But my name was pulled out of that hat for a reason. I chose to believe God was speaking to me telling me....Your going to be OK.

My nephew Spencer is one of the kindest kids I have ever seen. He just turned 19 and is in his first year at college. He doesn't drink, smoke, curse, nothing I know of. We are still so very close as he lives here with us. So when he comes home this summer....I will see him all the time. And that makes me very happy. When he was little he could not say Robin but called me Rara. Still to this day I am Rara and I love it!!!

illimae here, nudged by post and PM to check in, lol micmel 😀

DH and I went to see one of my favorite bands (The English Beat) play last night, it was great but strange. Strange because I don’t feel old but last night, the crowd seemed old to me. I told DH that everyone looked like teachers to me, rather than the Ska kids I remember. (No offense to older folks or teachers)

Today, I stayed home mildly hungover.

Robin~Hi sweety I am going to have some recon with my Own tissue. I've offically gained enough weight I didn't have prior of course! To qualify. I am sick of having one swinging quite lonely breast. No clothing fits correct with just one boob. Everything is crooked. And I hate it. The fake foob weighs like 5 extra pounds and it's hot and I have to constantly adjust it. It's a constant reminder that I am broken. I need to do this for me. For my vanity I guess. I just have a problem with someone hacking off my breast and not putting something back in its place! I feel like a half of a woman who looks like a man from one side. It's already hard enough hearing. “hey. I'm just gonna cut this there boob off right about now k? Cuz you got the cancer in there" excuse me but what? You're taking off what!!???? What are you doing with it ?,that’s mine!!!!! I have never been the same. It's march 30 so please send up some good thoughts for me?!!

I love love the name Spencer, he looks like a Spencer now that you say that. But I guess we all match our name. He's very handsome and sweet. I can tell he would warm your heart in a moment! But then again so could his Auntie! The beautiful one! Hugs to you sweet woman ~M~ I love Willy and his name.

Waving Hi to Runor~ we all have. An anal pore in our lives don't we? Lol at your commment in steam room about the word!! You my girl are so funny!!! Much love ladies ! ~M~

rpoole The best dog I ever had was Willie, actually Wilhelm, he was my first German Shepherd. We were best friends. I was single when I got him and trained him. Yes we went to obedience school. I have a pic of him in his graduation cap. Ha

Sure sounds like you were meant to have that dog.💞

Michel. I'm glad to hear your confident words about your surgery. You know what you need. But, it's not vanity that's driving you. If it was any other body part would you call it vanity? Absolutely not.

Bigbhome~lmao. That’s a keeper!! I do like it. You gotta save that for your DH!! Is it a mouse pad? Lol

Grannax ~ ty. I’m still very scared and nervous. I’m worried I won’t wake up. It is aggravating! I am not looking forward to the drains or pain. Or the awful feeling of anesthesia and how that feels. So I have a roller coaster of emotions going on again. 😪💔. Having cancer is so very difficult! ~M~

    Grannax2 Member Posts: 2,387

Of course you do micmel. You wouldn't be normal,( whatever that is?)!if you didn't have those emotions.

For those of us who are struggling with no or few eyelashes and eyebrows, I found a product that looks good. It's called Thrive Causemetics. I think it's expensive but I've missed my eyelashes so much, I decided to order the mascara. It, works. My eyelashes looked longer and fuller. It's also waterproof. I think it has little fibers in it but I've tried other brands and it's never helped. So, I was so impressed I got the eyebrow pencil. I haven't tried it yet but it's highly pigmented and it fills in thin eyebrows without looking fake. And it lasts 24 hours. I got a couple of other products too. For your first order if you use code Welcome 15 you get 15%off. Also free shipping on 35 or more.

I was thinking of you micmel and the wedding. Wouldn't it be great if you could eyelashes and eyebrows that didn't come off while you're crying at DD wedding? I got eyeliner that is not supposed to smear either. And this highlighter that you put at the inside corners of your eyes, mine are dark and ugly. They have everything and I would like to have all of it. 💲💲💲 too pricey for me.

I sound like their PR rep. Ha. It just randomly came up on my FB, but you can easily get to their website.

Micmel, I will definitely have you in my thoughts and prayers that all goes well with the recon. I didn't have enough skin for my recon, so I had a latissimus flap procedure. They form the new breast with the latissimus muscle on your back and use skin from the back. I would never recommend this to anyone!! It's been a complete nightmare, and It was done in 2012. My arm is weak and the muscles in my back ache all the time, because they are doing the work of the latissimus.

Grannax2, I love the name Wilhelm!!! I will add that to the list of nick names I call Willy! William, Willard, Wills.....lol

Robin~Well now you got me thinking because they are taking his from my stomach. Basically getting a tummy tuck, but who's complaining! I'm just scared. I don't want them to flatten my stomach and leave me with a big ass and hips. I will be Mis proportioned. So I gotta speak to him about that. Part of me can get wait to see it done and ove with. If I am honest I am looking forward to getting break from the dogs. I Am the one that tskes care of them day and night. I know hospitals aren't great, and I'll be ready to go I am sure. Hopefully I won't regret mine! Yikes ~M~ gn ladies ❣️

Thanks Grannax, for letting me know my Fears are real and normal. I appreciate that a lot! Much love ~M~ I am also worried about my make up at the wedding. I went Over to the venue today to make sure the linens I had purchased would fit. I don’t know how I pulled it off, but I got three sizes correct for the tables. I am thrilled. So now all decorations and everything for the venue is purchased and ready. Noe it’s just a matter of time. To start other things. For her dress, the sleeve alterations. , rental of his tuxedo. All the flowers are taken care of. They are way expensive so we chose other ways to decorate. So I am exhausted and going to bed good night!! ~M~

    Bighome-love the scratch pad!

Mae-glad you got out and enjoyed!

rpoole-love the pics of your nephew and dog!

Cool and windy here today. They are now saying number 4 nor'easter is suppose to go south of us. I hope it stays that way.

I'm on the tail end of my "hell week", and this 1/2 Irish girl will be taking it easy and staying home, with her 3 grandkids, while her 4 quarter Irish "Kids" and their significant others, go to a chinese restaurant and sing Karoke for St Patrick's Day. They've been doing this for the past 5 years, instead of pub crawling on the main street. I'm sure it's mobbed since the day began, being on a Saturday. My husband is in VT skiing with his 2 older brothers again this weekend. He stayed home last night (even though I told him to head up instead of leaving first thing this morning. It's a 3 hour drive). I did run a fever on Tuesday and Wed evenings. It got to 100.6 at it's highest (I'm suppose to call at 100.5), I took a shower and tylenol, and the fever went down after a few hours. I was not in the mood to go to the ER again. I will tell the oncologist on Friday, what happened. My husband worried it might happen last night (it didn't), and he texted our daughter, to see what my temp was (it's been normal all day). He is becoming such a worry wart. The kids are here if anything happens. They are a 10 min ride away, while they are gone tonight. He wasn't happy that I'd be watching the kids alone. They are 8, almost 7, and 5. I can put on a couple of movies, give them popcorn, and they'll be happy as clams.

I hope everyone has a Happy St Patrick's day!

Happy St. Patrick's Day! My son attends St. Patrick's school and the school does a parade every year with the kids dressing up in crazy green colors and clothing. I have never found myself so into St. Patricks Day! I love it.

Happy st Patrick's Day! Like your kids Lynne, our day finished with Karaoke. Don't know what St Patrick would have thought of that. We had double celebration as Ireland won the 6 nations Rugby Championship on St Patrick's Day (a European thing). A big thing for Irish people!! Been a busy week for me, and suffering because of,it. Extra hour in bed this morning

Checking in and getting caught up again; boy this thread moves fast!

Bigbhome, that "scatch" pad made me LOL!

rpoole, very handsome nephew. Your story reminds me exactly of my sister's relationship with my nephew. She had no children and they were/are very close; she was the favorite aunt. Ha.

Grannax, I just love Hawaii. My favorite place to visit. So glad you'll be going and I think you'll love it. My father was also in WWII, not at Pearl Harbor, but in the Pacific theater. He and my mom went there for their 25th wedding anniversary and he so wanted to visit the Arizona memorial, but it was too windy the day they planned to go and the boats weren't running, so he never got to see it; never made it back. He died in 1996 at 72. My dad never talked about his war experience until much later in life, and then very limited. He and I would sit at the kitchen table and talk over coffee, but I wish I had prodded him more. My whole family went back to Honolulu in 2004, so my mom was finally able to visit the memorial which was very moving. By that time, the Missouri was also there, and mom was determined to visit it because as a teen (she was eight years younger than dad) she remembered seeing it on newsreels and the official Japanese surrender held on it. It was pretty powerful, too, thinking of all the history. Enjoy your time there.

Micmel, your daughter is just so gorgeous, and I am so happy for her and you! Thanks for sharing the engagement photos.

Love all the doggie and family pictures, too. Thanks for sharing everyone. Hugs to everyone else especially those dealing with issues; damn bc!

Waving at you Gracie, and hope you're doing well. Anyone heard from her?

Hi guys! Been a busy weekend celebrating my DSS birthday, we had fun and he is 17. Like wow he's growing up on me. We had a nice dinner and cake. DH broke out the grill, made some chicken and it was delicious. Wonderful family memories were made! I have to say I'm sick of cold though. I hope you North ladies are doing ok! Enough. Snow already....

Mae, you're beautiful and your eyes are really stunning. St patty's day! It was a cold one. But people got drunk this I know. My neighbors had a loud party. Not really great when you're a tired bear tying to fall asleep. But it sounded like they had fun. So more power too them!

Bliss~ Hi there darling! Hawaii all the way for me. Ty about my daughter! She is a good kid and so very happy. Soon I will be letting go of my first chickie! It's ok. Mama bear wants to just be with DH in the porch. Together with no where to go. So glad you checked in! 🌸🌸

Gracie~ Hope you're feeling well.i think about you a lot. We love you, don't forget it. I know the first three months of ibrance were the worst for me too. But once it starts working, you instantly feel better. Just less pain, but some fatigue. I take ritilan and it does help. We miss you! ❣️❣️ Please check in or I'm going to text! I don't want to disrupt you!

Waving to the Lynne's! I wish spring would come around town for you all! Although One Lynne is In Hawaii. Lucky ducky! MJH, also snow bound! Keetmom!! thinking of you and Emma's birthday!

    Much love ~M~

Here are some pics from last night.

imageOur younger daughter Lindsay (our grandsons' mother, she could have smiled!).

imageOur grands. Matthew, Ryleigh, and Aiden

    imageHappy St Pat's!

Our daughter and her husband picked up the boys at 10 (they were still awake), and Ryleigh and our son, ended up staying over (she fell asleep around 11). He didn't get back until 1:30 with our older daughter. I would have let the boys stay over too, but our younger son's girlfriend was still here (she left this morning), and there were no extra beds. Also, my husband wasn't here, to entertain the boys in the morning. They were good for the most part.

    Great pic, Mae!

Grannax-What do they have for no eyelashes and only a few eyebrow hairs? I miss both! I can always cover my nearly bald head, and draw in my eyebrows, but no eyelashes, I think I will have to get fake ones for my nephew's wedding in August (if I'm still on Taxotere, or if they haven't grown back on the next treatment). I've never used them before, always just used mascara. I'm glad the stuff you got is working for you!

Minnie-Glad you celebrated with Karaoke too! The kids had a blast. Only our eldest sings. Usually with his cousin Patrick, who he shares a house with (and another single guy). They've been doing it for years! They all have great voices, but the other 3 chickened out. One of my friends follows Rugby. He used to play in his younger years. He had posted about Ireland's win. Congrats!

Well, my husband said he was skiing until noon, then heading home. It's now noon, so I guess I should shower and dress.

Have a wonderful day everyone! Hugs!

Lynn. I guess false eyelashes would be the only solution. When I was on taxotere I just used a lot of eyeliner. I think the Thrive eyebrow pencil would work for you. My lashes are just the shortest, thinnest things ever. They suffered from so much chemo and AI TX and never went back to normal. I've heard there are places that will put eyelashes on for you that last more than a day.

    Your Grands faire so cute.💞
