Hi gals!
Gloomy weather today, but they are predicting a gorgeous stretch after today! Great as we are coming into foliage season!
Lynne(Man) The whole squirrel thing is heartbreaking, but part of a natural cycle. The weekend you had sounds grand and it brings back fond memories of going to NH with my parents while growing up. We did a ton of hiking and stayed in those sweet little housekeeping cottages that were so prevalent. Looking forward to giving you a hug tomorrow!
Lynne(50's) Go for it with the Xeloda; my prediction is it will work really well. Are you quite recovered from the nasty UTI? How is your pain level? You can answer me in person tomorrow!!!
Tanya-yay for uneventful!
Mae- with you in spirit today as you go through the medical mill. Treat yourself afterwards!
Lynnwood-it is the pits to be in a funk and I hope it lifts for you soon. Holding you in the light, dear one.
Trying to clean up my house from the summer frenzy and do a little decorating for the benefit of my grands. Got them each little gingerbread haunted house kits at Trader's and will have my DGD here this weekend. Need to cook something today also and got granola ingredients at health food store. wish me luck getting this accomplished! Feeling wonderful, seeing MO on Thursday for monthly check in. Still going like a bat out of hell before the shoe drops.
Micmel-you OK? Bighome-see ya tomorrow girl!
Muddling, Holmes, Blueshine, Grannax ,Shelia, Gracie, and all of my other dear MBC sisters-you are in my heart forever
Love, Mary Jane

50sgirl, the tree service finished and did a great job. I am so relieved that some nuisance trees, and one that was potentially dangerous are gone. Our backyard is so bright now! They cleaned up well but since we sometimes burn wood, DH had them leave some wood for him to cut and split. Also, we now have a small mountain of wood chips to use as mulch. They would have taken those away but DH asked for them, so he will also have wheelbarrow duty. Ha!

Hi all! Mae, I am keeping you in my prayers for tomorrow. Only good news!
Grannax, So happy you get to stay the course!
Tanya, Just love uneventful Mo visits!!!
Muddling, I loved watching the tree service we had do our property! They make it look so simple.

Tanya-I've had those shots 3 times. They hurt getting them, but eventually, it does make the pain go away. Good luck! Hugs!
Claudia-Safe travels!
Can't wait to see you guys tomorrow. I kept thinking all morning, that it was today.
It's raining and cool today (again). Tomorrow is suppose to be around 70 and sunny. I can't wait!

Micmel, our ringmaster, the one who organizes and oversees this colourful circus, she sure leaves a big hole when she's gone for a moment. Let's hope the flying monkeys don't get out of control!
I have been around, reading, seeing, cheering over good news, groaning over bad.
50s, I hope this treatment is not too bad for you. LWood, the funk is real. It's a real, ugly, thick coating, like moss, that grows over everything and nothing looks the same or feels the same. We all know it and hope for some funk relief soon. Mae, hoping all went well, waiting to hear. Unless you posted already and I missed it, which is possible, because sometimes I'm just not smart and attentive.
Keep on keeping on, ladies - oh my god, did I just give away my age with that saying? Ah, I'm old. What can you do?

Still missing Micmel and hope she’s ok! Just want to thank you all for your kind words of encouragement. It means so much! I have friends to talk to but they don’t get it like you all do. I went to the cemetery and decorated my dads plot with some fall decorations. Cried and talked to him and I could almost hear him telling me to stop crying and to go home and relax. He’s been gone for 8 years and the pain is like no other. The tears come fast. I was always closer to him then my mother. He’s gone and now my mother is in the beginning of dementia and argumentative at times. Thank goodness my brother is close by and is supportive. My grown sons are also helpful. My cystoscopy is scheduled for next Tuesday and hopefully I’ll get some answers. Lynne, you’re the only person I know who’s had a stent... thank you for your information. I’m concerned about the removal of the stent, I’m told “ uncomfortable” by the urologist and “ painful “ by my onc. YIKES!! Also told can be uncomfortable while it’s in. SO don’t want to do this but it’s a necessary evil. Runor, your words are so true, the funk is real, ugly and thick.. perfect words. Lynne, I appreciate it you helping me even while going through your own issues and hoping you feel better soon.

Lynnwood, I did not find the stent removal painful. There was a slight discomfort, but it is done so quickly that it is over before you know it. My urologist let me watch things on the screen. I know, I am weird, but somehow it took my mind off of it. Let me know if you have any questions.
Hugs and prayers from, Lynne

Lynnwood-I visit my Dad often. The cemetery is a mile from home, so we stop in on the way home, or when we are out on our motorcycle. He's been gone 13 years (I was diagnosed, for the first time, Stage 1, 4 months after his passing). I think of him everyday. Like you, I was closer to Dad. My Mom had to be the bad guy, because he was such a softy. It was the same at my house. My husband is a softy. My Mom is almost 81, and has COPD (she smoked for 40 years, and quit for good 20 years ago). Her 2 older sisters died from it too. It's effecting her heart and kidneys. She wears O2 at night, and is suppose to wear it during the day, if she exerts herself at all. She's very stubborn, and rarely wears it during the day. If she is, you know she should call the dr. She still lives in the house we grew up in (her great grandfather built it, and it has been bought, down the line, her father and his 8 siblings were born there). She's been in that house over 60 years. Her parents bought it when she was 14. She had an apartment for the first year she was married, then my uncle died (2 months before I was born), and my cousins were 5 and 2 at the time, so my grandparents moved in with my aunt. My parents rented then bought the house. I hope that one of my sisters, or one of the 10 grandchildren buy it, to keep it in the family. My youngest sister and I (the eldest of the 4), live a few houses away from her, which is good. Our husbands and sons, mow the lawn, and snow blow for her. Also, do anything around the house for her. She still cleans (not as thorough as she used to) and does her laundry (which is upstairs, as is the cat box). We moved her bedroom downstairs a few years ago. She always says, maybe I should go into assisted living, or a condo. We said the house is paid for. All you have are your property taxes and utilities, it will cost you more to move out. She says she doesn't like bothering us. I said you took care of us for over 20 years, now it's our turn. Wow, I rambled on! Sorry! I hope going to visit your Dad gave you some peace. Big hugs!!! Also good luck with the stent placement.
Gracie-I was on iron pills, after the birth of my first child. I was very constipated with them. Take colace, and if that doesn't work, take a laxative. Good luck!
Claudia-Yippee! The sun is suppose to peak out this afternoon! I'll see you in a couple of hours!
My mother-in-law, who was recently diagnosed Stage 1, grade 3, went to see the radiation oncologist. She had already made up her mind not to do radiation. She'll be 86, and they live 1/2 hour from where she would have to go. It would just be too much driving for the both of them, everyday for 6 weeks. He tried to talk her into it, saying she had a 30% chance of it coming back in 5 years. She told him she'd be 91 then! She is going to do the aromotase inhibitor though. But if that starts bothering her too much, she'll get off that too. She had the lumpectomy and sentinal node biopsy. My father-in-law, who is 86, doesn't even want her to do the pills. She said she wants to try. She is in very good health other than her eyes (glaucoma). She still drives, and is active with a women's group at church, and another one too. They are always on the go. I think she is happy with her decision. Hopefully, it doesn't come back for a long time. She's a sweetheart!
Have a nice day everyone! Hugs!

Gracie, I never had iv iron but I have had the tablets. They will turn poop very black. Sorry for that image but better to know ahead of time than to be alarmed.

Lynne, your story with your Mom sounds so much like mine! She always says she should sell the house and get an apartment. The problem is that in her mind, an apartment costs about $500 a month. We try to tell her that it is more then double that and it is cheaper to stay where she is. Her house is also paid off and she has good neighbors who watch out for each other. She is less then 5 minutes away from my brother and I. We also snow blow and keep up with the house. She is a pack rat and refuses to get rid of anything and is now starting to “ save” bizarre things like empty cat litter containers and plastic bags. I love your story about the family house, the house my mother and her sisters grew up in remains in our family. My aunt and now my cousin live there. My Mom is also 81 so that’s a long time for a house to remain in the same family, I love riding by and seeing it.0

Brain MRI was very good, just one little stubborn spot remains and nothing new popping up. 😀🎉

I've had IV iron infusions. They worked to get my anemia under control. I do remember having tummy upset. Take your anti nausea meds.
Glad to hear Micmel is getting over her cold. Good news, Mae.
