runor, lol! I have just renamed myself Mrs. Drink a Beer like it’s Sunday 😀

Micmel, to answer your earlier question, no walking dead until next week, I think. Instead, we’ve been binge watching The Good Place. Tonight’s menu is French dip sliders and coleslaw.

Lynne(50's) look at your beautiful smile my precious sister! Your hair looks amazing and I just love seeing you and DH with goofy and Mickey. Smiling from ear to ear. I love seeing your pics and adventures. It reminds me of the pic, of you in Hawaii with your umbrella drink and and a huge beautiful smile. I'm taking one day at a time and trying to pace myself. I do intend to go daily. Because no one else will be there and I will have the chance to rebuild a lost relationship on my terms on my turf. I'm so happy that my friend knew the admissions woman. The waiting list vanished and he was moved before anyone could spell help me. That is what makes me happy honestly. Seeing him safe near me. So I can Set my own boundaries and exposure to the narcissistic woman I was thrown to at 4 years old. Love you sweet Lynne. Have you heard anything from Lynne (man)💔so worried. Have a blast and travel safely. ~M~

Runor ~ Hi darling! I love love cupcakes. I did go back today and he was so different. He was pleasant and loving. I am a patient so I notice everything. I said Dad, “are your lips bothering you?” They look so chapped? He smiled and said yes they are actually. So I always carry like nine chapsticks. So I took one out and put it in his drawer. Another thing not in there. I mean like wtf is she doing. I mean do things right. I wasn’t allowed in his life before. Thrown away like a razor no longer sharp and working the way a new one would. Rusted and dull thrown out with no concern for cutting anyone. Now the one he threw away (including disrespecting my sweet wonderful DH even though he didn’t give a chance to even know him) are the people who are providing what he really needs. The family provides everything for the patient is what the sign said. His drawer is empty. So again. I left the chapstick and my DH’s charger tomorrow I will bring some extra blankets because they only provide the thin ones that aren’t warm at all. Wow how quickly things change sometimes. I Am going to sleep!!! I have an appointment tomorrow early. Run run run! Hugs my friend and thanks to all for even caring.

Mae~ finishing breaking bad within the next few days. Then gotta find something else!!! Searching searching and can’t waif for GAME OF THRONES!! Bow 🙇‍♀️ 🙇‍♀️🙇‍♀️🙇‍♀️🙇‍♀️

can his dr add the ativan to his daily meds list to bypass stepmonster? At this point he certainly needs it daily. Is there palliative care there? If so take advantage of it. They help families against each other, to cope and such as well as focusing on pts comfort. Many hospitals offer this support nowadays.

roseabella~I went Into the directors office and announced my arrival and asked nicely when the last time the ordered Ativan was administered. They knew I was aware of what was going on. Five minutes later the nurse cane in with the Ativan. So I made sure that order went through. Tomorrow I’ll hawk the doctor nicely and get that order done for the alcohol to be given as well at night time. I am also going to ask about getting him a jule. He is flipping out about nicotine. And he’s dying. Nothing can help him. Why shouldn’t he enjoy what he enjoys ? Don’t know the rules on that one yet. But he needs someone to step up. I’m trying. Thanks again for all the support you wonderful ladies! 💕💕

illimae reporting for pocket duty, you ladies got this 😀. Pass the snacks please, I’ll chew quietly.

50’s, thanks for sharing the pics, you look great!

Missing Lynne (man), I hope she’s dealing with it as best she can.

Gracie, sorry you’re having a hard time and grannax, thinking of you too, hoping you feel better.

Bigbhome, new friend for skittles yay!

I’ll be in the gym and doing errands until Thursday. I’m all packed and we fly to Miami Friday. The cruise ship departs on Monday, I can’t wait to drink a Bahama Mama in The Bahamas! It’s a short cruise but looks fun and it’s our 1st cruise ever.

Lynne, love your pictures! You are absolutely lovely! Im so glad that you are having a wonderful vacation. Micmel, as a nurse, I’m not sure what the rules are in the facility your Dad is in, but my facility would not allow alcohol while the patient is on Ativan. Also, how about a nicotine patch if they don’t allow the jule? Just looking at this from a nurse perspective. Forgive me if I’m over stepping

Lynne 50's, thank you for sharing the photos! Your smile is wonderful!

Mae and Micmel and everyone else, jump in my pockets for a day of scans, bloodwork, and xgeva tomorrow. I don't mind them except for how long the day becomes! I'm exhausted afterward. Then, waiting to know results. Sometimes I don't even want to know and just ignore the whole s***show. Y'all know what I mean.

Got through the PET this morning and I must say you ladies were wiggling around a lot in my pocket, enjoying the snacks and champagne 🍾 I hope!

Mai you will enjoy cruising! I have been on three and they have been so relaxing. It’s so nice when the biggest decision you have to make is what to eat next, and of course the cocktails 🍹 don’t hurt!

Muddling I will happily join the gang in your pockets! Good luck 🍀

Lynne, we haven’t “met,” but add me to the fans of your pictures. It must have been so nice to get out of the NH freeze. Growing up in Massachusetts, I clearly remember those frigid winters

So, MO appt. tomorrow for the result of the scan. Trying not to be nervous........

Thank you all for your kind words about my pictures. Mel, My hair will probably be nothing but a memory in a few weeks, so I am glad that it looks good now.

Mae, Have a great time on the cruise. I have no doubt that you will find lots to do and will enjoy every moment.

Donnabelle, It is nice to meet you. I will post a proper welcome when I return to the frozen northland later this week. I hope that you receive good scan results tomorrow. As a fellow Patriots' fan, I thought you might enjoy the photos from today's parade at the Magic Kingdom. Brady and Edelman were there. I must say that Brady looks even better in person than he does on tv, and Edelman's beard is very, very bushy. They both seemed to enjoy the crowd, and everyone there was excited to see them. The park was full of people in Patriots' jerseys. The parade was more exciting than last night's game.

    Hugs and prayers from, Lynne

Lynne, I LOVE ❤️ those pictures! Not a very exciting game, but the result was good 🏈!

My MO appt for the results of the scan has been cancelled due to my doc getting the stomach flu. I’m going in for chemo on Thursday so they are hoping that she will be better and that they can squeeze me in then. I am feeling like you Muddling. Sometimes I just want to skip the whole s*#t show. So I’m kinda happy to wait.

Mae~could always count on you for attending pocket duty. I was in and out of the pocket today. I went to see my father. I honestly can't wait to see your awesome pics from your cruise.. I know you have been packing early I am sure. But then you won't forget anything. Smooth sailing ahead ! 🚢 🛳. Have a total blast! Hugs ! ~M~

Lynnwood~ Hi there darling! I also addressed that with the nurse and doctor. He won't be receiving the Ativan in the evening time. That doseage will not occur because instead he will be receiving two shots of his alcohol with ginger ale.. this is because he is categorically an alcoholic. So they are doing this for comfort and to lessen the side effects of His withdrawal symptoms. The patch has been administered and that portion has calmed down! It was quite a day. I'm so tired! And btw you could never over step. You're my friend sweetheart! Goodnight ladies !

Muddling~Blood work coming up on the 18th. Not too stressed really feeling great except for throwing my back out. Today I tried to protect it better but again he needed to be moved. He said his side was hurting. So I lifted him and rolled him. Then I was scratching his back over and over and over. Exhausted !!! Is there any back stratching in your pocket ?? Lol hugs my friend. ~M~

Gracie~Hello. Beautiful!!! Good to see you. Sending you love and 🌹🌹 😃 glad you're here and hope you're well....

Donna~ another pats fan huh? Hmmmm since our Lynne man and Lynne 50's are pats fans also. I'll find a way to cope. Lol I am from EAGLES 🦅 country. Loyal loyal I see. I wasn't surprised. At all but. It is what it is. Congrats to you all!! Hope your scans are good and you can relax again. !! I'm off to bed ! 💐

I am also assuming perhaps MJH is also a pats fan.? Oh boy!!

I pre-packed a couple weeks ago, then ordered a few more things and did my final pack on Saturday (I’ll be away from home for 9 days). 8 shirts, 3 jeans, 1 shorts, 1 dress, 1 swimsuit, 3 pairs of shoes and a pair of flip flops, all in 1 backpack. Just to make things easier, I planned the outfits for each day but may swap them around. Here they are, some old, some new.

Illimae, very impressive. You are so organized. I am leaving on a cruise Sunday and would like to hire you to pack for me! I always end up waiting until the last minute. Packing in advance/planning out what one will wear makes it much easier to pack light. I am not so good at packing light either.

  • illimae
    illimae Member Posts: 5,739

JFL, I’d do it for free, it’s fun to me. I find planning the outfits first eliminates the odds of packing things I might end up not wearing. DH hasn’t packed yet but he has traveled heavily for the past 20 years, so I let him do his thing (even though I could probably make it better).

    Where are you cruising to?

    micmel Member Posts: 10,055

Mae ~ I am not surprised at all really. I kinda expected exactly what I saw lol. You're an organization machine. For sure.

I'm heading now into see my dad. I'm so tired I can't wait for a nap today! This is already wearing me out. I don't know how I'll make it.

Tanya~Thank you so much for saying that to me. I never really realized it but you're correct. I do have that nature. Is that bad ? Lol.

Minnie ,JKL, Donna, MJH, JFL, Gracie.....Bigbhome....Parry... you ok in there.? Grannax.... how are you feeling. Did you get your dress ??? Blueshine. Haven't seen you. Hello Divine.... 50's girl. Lynne man, we love you. Masons hello. Runor. Bella. Rosabella.... anyone else I missed I'll be back.

    Hugs strong ladies. ~M~

    Much love

Micmel, I only have a minute but want to give you a suggestion. When you father needs to be moved in bed, etc, ring for a nurse or nursing assistant. They are trained on the best way to reposition or move patients and are used to doing that. It will save you injury and pain to your back. When my dh was hospitalized and very sick, he often gradually slid down in the bed. The staff was happy to get him comfortable again if he was not strong enough to do it himself.

    Hugs and prayers from, Lynne

WOW three days of catch up and I'm still behind. Things happen fast on this thread.

I've had a rough few days. Good news is brain MRI is negative. Horrible news is that my MO is the pits. I definitely am changing. For now I am off, against her wishes, AA. Will start Xeloda February 18 after I get back from NYC. I don't even remember the dosage, I was livid at this point in the conversation. She was insulting and sarcastic to me and I'm not over it. I'm still too tired to talk.

NYC is exciting. I had the big, big red dress drama on Friday when I picked up my gown. By some still unknown mistake it was a size 22, I'm at 12 petite. It's 12" too wide and 12" too long. 😨 Plus, it's a fitted strapless gown that ladies with no boobs cannot wear. So, getting another size is a no. I do get to wear my black gown with new jewelry. The jewelry lady is going to make a new set for me. I'm thinking dripping diamond choker. What do you think?

I've lost 20 pounds since I wore the black. But it's an easy fix. I can alter it. Most exciting is I get to go see Phantom on Friday. I get to wear my mom's long Mink coat. She would have loved to see me there in her coat. I think my dad bought it for her in the 50's.

Pray for emotional and physical strength so I can have fun in NYC. And get everything done in the next ten days to be ready to go. One exhausted puppy at the moment.💞

you ladies are correct. I am learning as I go honestly. I have never been through any of this before. I didn't do it today. Today was the pee pod moment. He said “Boo" I have to use the pee pod.. now or I'll pee myself. I grabbed it for him and handed it to him. The problem is when you ring the button....you have to wait, and sometimes those patients aren't wanting to wait... so I either waited or helped him. AWKWARD!!!! It was quite a thing honestly. I am home now going to nap. He was sleeping. I need rest. My sister is going tonight. So that helps me. But I'm really realizing. This could potentially be a loooong near future. Hope all is well with any scans or people need pocket support.

Hugs and thanks for the good advice!
