Mel, those masks are such pretty colours and glad you got your disinfecting wipes. I managed to score rubbing alcohol at the grocery store and still have a couple of older ones from before the pandemic.
I got excited because my order from the dollar store came. 12 oxyclean generic brand which work just as well and I mix with the good stuff AND 72 little bottles of Purell hand sanitizer. You would think it was Christmas for me. I get so excited about laundry as you know and now to have my own hand sanitizer is really nice. Not hoarding as my dollar store requires a bulk purchase, case sales only but the hand sanitizer is not price gouging, reasonably priced at 1.25 per bottle. They also were packaged in a cute bowl and each one sealed so would not dry out. Still need to wash hands too, but nice to get the stuff you cannot get on Amazon. Still have bleach as well so that is good.
I am wearing glasses because I have had them for years but did not wear. My eyes had started to have weird things go on like not being able to see particular spots for a few minutes. I don't buy my SIL theory that they are seizures nor do I believe they care brain or cancer related because there are no other symptoms.I will be having an MRI of my brain anyway so if there was funny business going on, it can be found then. I can totally see it being eye strain from looking at a screen much more often. I updated the computer font to 200% and hopefully that will help. Almost spent a whack of money on cute reading glasses but decided to wait until I get to the dollar store to see if they would suit my purpose on the computer. 1.25 would be a lot less than what I would have paid.

Mel,
OMG! I am slow, I’ll admit it. But your dog’s name is D-O-G. I love it!
Where did you get those masks? They are awesome!
Candy,
So proud of you. We all get to a point where we have to question our treatment plans, and it should not cause you stress. Your body, your right to ask questions. Good job, girl

BooBoo~Great job figuring that out. Most people just stare at me. And say something like is that foreign for something ? My dh is very clever. He thought Of it. I love the name also. People Commented daily, when he was a puppy .... I got the masks from a company called swim spot. I got 10 masks for 25$. I split it with my daughter. I love them and they are so comfortable to breathe in. She likes them also. I can re wash them. So if I need to order more I will. They came pretty quickly. I may just order more anyway but we have someone in the family also making some more. I think we are going to need them for a year or so Just my thought

Mara~I also love the colors Glad you got your bottles of hand sanitizer! It makes us feel armed! I had my hair done today. So that was nice. I’m going to watch some tv and go to bed. We ordered our for pizza tonight. Hubby deserves a day off for sure. It’s going to be warm the next few days. Yuck!

Mel, you are so right about feeling armed. Feels good for sure. I am so glad you were able to get your hair done. I have been so long without hair, I forget about the struggle of many places not being open that lots of people go through.
So I did have two long walks, first to the restaurant for a pickup. Was not that hot but my cheeks told a different story when I got home. After supper, decided I wanted chocolate so started to head to the grocery store only to find out it was closed. Had to look up directions to the nearest variety store and get the chocolate there. Did not roast this time. Good physical day.

Hi all, I met with the trial doc yesterday (virtually), it’s the Extend trial and here’s a summary. I’ll find out if I’m fully approved next week.
0 -
Mae~I am hopeful that you will be fully approved! It certainly sounds good with words like systemic. That’s what we’re dealing with here our own systems. Virtual thing ? Ok for you ? Or do you prefer in person? How is your cute pool?

having some violent storms my way. Hope anyone in their path also is safe. High winds, torrential rain. Thunder lightning some hail. Just be safe. Stay indoors

That's going to be headed my way as well. Hot and humid then storms to cool the temperatures down a bit. That is fine by me.
Mae, good luck with the trial and getting in. I am also interested as I am Oligometastatic too and HER2+

Thanks Mara. This particular trial is about radiation to minimal bone mets or not and I’ll update here of course. Some good news, my original hip bone met was biopsied and confirmed but later a spot on my right scapula and right 2nd rib (near collar bone) were suspect but “sleeping”. The radiologists doing the trial called to tell me that after reviewing 3.5 years of scans, they believe the later 2 spots are not cancer, so I’m back to a single bone met. I’ll take less cancer however I can get it.

I’ve never had radiation as of yet, I have four total spots that are too small to measure in the skeleton. My worse placement is the S3. It is just plain painful It is a bad location and is basically needed for everything you do. As if have found over these years. I hope it does exactly what needs to be done Mae....
Mara~Wicked storms and they were fast but now it’s sunny. Weather is odd

Mae, so you are oligo from the neck down. Cool.

Mae-Sounds like an exciting trial-hope you are accepted.
Mara-Thought of you yesterday-I made black bean soup. You are a good influence on my diet-I'm eating much more spinach and now black beans. Unfortunately I also follow your chocolate habit too-but maybe there's something in the chocolate that is fighting cancer and that's why we crave it

Illimae— always nice to hear from you!!
Hoping you get in that trial and that it kicks your ONE bone met. What great news that the other 2 spots are not bone mets.

Shetland ~always lovely to see you here. Hope all is well!
Mae~I also second, the kick the one Mets butt! That is a. Nice thing to hear for sure. You ok with virtual meetings !? I had one and I was not sure how I felt. But it was a new doc.
Dodgers~ hoping things are going well in your neck of the woods. Good to see you here.
I also hope everyone is safe and home away from protests or any stressful things close to home. Love is For everyone. In my book.
Chicagoan~ hello stranger. Always good to see an OG pop in from time to time. I hope all is well with you.
Made me think of Lynnwood... give a holler if you see this. Gotta check on my peeps.0 -
Hi Micmel,
I'm around-I usually don't have much to post. Chicago has been pretty crazy but hopefully things are calming down now. It's been surreal. Chicago finally opened up stores for business today but everything is boarded up because of the looting. On the plus side, I have been able to get out golfing and playing pickleball-both are good stress relievers for me. Hope that you are feeling well.

Chicagoan~I have my great days and then others I spend napping. Depends on the timof the month and the cycle place I am in the ibrance dance. I sleep a lot. It's one thing Ibrance does to me. I love to sleep but when it's all you do. It's gets Old quickly. I'm happy to hear you're golfing. You go girl. ! Never played pickle ball but I'm pleased you're. So active. Jealous!!!!! I feel like I live with cement shoes. It's always good to see you. Hugs to you !

Chicagoan, I definitely love chocolate, no getting around that for me. I don't always buy the large chocolate bars as I will simply eat them quickly. I do enjoy chocolate pudding which is inexpensive. I sometimes mix that with a scoop of cool whip and a couple of chopped oreos for a small dessert. Today was my meatless day so I subbed shredded mexican cheese and white beans. They are very good too. Only difference between lunch and supper was the spinach. Very yummy.

I'm doing pretty well, Mel. Now that things seem to be settling down after many difficult months (bile duct stricture, hospitalizations, starting the trial, etc.), I am waiting to see if I start feeling any more energetic. My biggest problem — don't hate me, ladies — is that I can't seem to gain back any weight and my onc is getting concerned. I weigh less than I did when I was a teenager. It's just so hard to plan meals, obtain food, and cook when I am tired, and also because I have to order from my not-favorite store just because it is the one that does curbside pickup. I never get all the things I ordered. And I am afraid that what I eat could set off GI troubles. See? It is too much trouble. I'm hungry. Nobody feeds me. My DH and kid are great but they don't feed me. (Maybe I should start a thread about this problem.)
If I could swap out your cement shoes for bouncy spring shoes, Mel, I would! (The bouncy shoes would be magic and nobody could fall while wearing them.)

Shetland I feel ya I really do. I have lost a lot of weight the last six months, am now underweight, and it is HARD to gain it back. MO was going to put me on Piqray but that is well on hold because of my weight loss. I still don't have huge appetite, but I am eating. I can't fix meals for myself because I'm in a lot of pain with back and hip issues and it's hard to be up for anything much more than preparing a sandwich. Yesterday I looked at a meal plan online for weight gain and I just about barfed. There's no way I could eat that much food.

Hi all.
Sorry I have not posted on this Thread much this week. I have taken over the Ibrance Thread, I think. You can read my posts there to get caught up. I am feeling better today. Last 2 days have been hellish.
Mae- Hope you get approved for the trial.
Mara- I have not touched the treadmill this week. Next week hopefully.
Mel- Hi to ya.

Candy, you touch the treadmill whenever it strikes your fancy. I have not used mine either. Mostly doing chair workouts that involve using legs and arms as something different to do. I enjoy videos from you tube.

Mara51506– ref your love of chocolate, wanted to share this “recipe” with you:
6 oz box Jello white chocolate instant pudding mixed with heavy cream (electric mixer, following time on pudding box)
Eat after mixing OR pipe into ice cube trays and freeze. Then take the cubes out of the ice cube trays and store in Ziplock bag in freezer. When it warm outside, take out a cube and enjoy a cold decadent white chocolate treat.

OOH, I love that idea Dodgersgirl. I will definitely give it a go and report back.

Shetland~I just want to feel like I pull my half my weightof things and i just don't have the strength. I get to make up my mind and push. But then physically I pay for it with heat flashes. And sweat sessions. It's miserable. They were So much better. before. Each month brings us a different bag. I hope you're still doing good. And am sending you a hug my friend.

Moomala~I have plenty of weight you may have I’ll even mail it to you in a padded envelope !!!! Ha ! I look at anything and gain. It makes me wonder. Because I am not an eater. I snack mainly and have one mid sized meal with vegetables and chicken or something. I’ll be glad to share with you both. Hope you’re doing well! Sweet woman !0 -
