Well after going out last night, was hard to feel tired for bed. Wound up getting up late today. Thankfully the infusion was this afternoon. Walked so am quite sweaty. Will walk home too. Don't think I will want a warm blanket either.

Moth - so glad for good news.

So far have had 100% pain relief with nerve block. Need to monitor for 2 weeks. Never had to monitor that long b4.

Wishes for a peaceful evening for all

And I will continue with the good news. Had my MRI skull protocol today -- horrible, long test -- the RO who had ordered it already called. NOTHING showed up -- on my MRI of the skeleton, the radiologist had said that there was suspicion of metastases at C1 and to the right of that space. Needed some good news for once.

    Moth and BevJen great news.
Mae I’m in your pocket for Friday.

Mel I hate when they have to use hand veins. My port doesn’t give blood so I always get the infusion via port and blood out of vein in arm. Yuk

Golden I’m glad you’re pain free from the ablation. This is the first time I’m doing it and have done the two test tries and had one ablation in the left. Sept 9th I’ll get the other ablation on the right. I’m looking forward to getting this back pain gone.

Mara I’m glad your appt went well today.

Runor 8 axes 🪓. I wouldn’t know one from the other. I haven’t swung an axe since I was a kid. Farming fail is hilarious. I might make it through 1 day working on a farm then they’d line me up with the useless hands and send me packing.

My granddaughter is visiting for a couple of days. Her mom and sister went out of town for a wedding and her three brothers will drive her crazy if she stays there. I can’t wait to see this google classroom on her computer in the morning.

    Waving hello to all.

Mae- In your pocket for results Friday.

Goldens- Glad you are having pain relief. Maybe I need to check into this nerve ablation thing. Good results for you and Tanya. I have chronic back issues from way before the cancer.

BevJen- Woohoo on the good report! Hoping for another good scan for you on Friday.

    Tanya- Have fun with granddaughter.

BevJen~Good report ! Atta girl. Mae ~ same to you my dear. Planning on mailing your package in the morning.

Let's keep the good vibes and news coming

My blood work tumor markers came back super low so I'm thrilled about that. Usually tells my story. Other blood work was all ok luckily. Calcium was one tick low. See what he says about that. I somedays still sit and say I can't believe I have cancer. It shocks me. Still. I used to be so strong. Now I have to store energy like a pack of squirrels hiding their nuts. Fall is getting closer. I love the cooler temperatures. I know that they always go back to being hot again for Indian summer. But I wonder what the cold weather would do for the covid... ?? Get your flu shots ladies. I got mine already, not going through that again. Ooofffff. Horrible !
glad it seems everyone is doing well!

Happy belated birthday, Tanya. I hope you had a good day.

Mel, back to our pup conversation. I made the difficult choice to put my old man down. It was so hard. When I called the vet, they said they would allow me in. I didn’t have the heart to make him go alone. He’s always been my nervous guy, fireworks, thunderstorms. He would have been 13 next month. He was skin and bones. He went from 70 to 54 pounds. He went peacefully. He was my sixth pup since I’ve been married 36 years who has passed. It never gets easier. I had one die naturally of heart failure, and I vowed never to let them suffer again.

    KBL,

I’m so sorry to hear about your beloved dog. There is not much that makes me cry (antidepressants take care of that), but losing a furry family member gets me every time. I learned a long time ago that people will let you down—not on purpose most of the time, but because we are human. But our animals are always there to love us, support us, and keep us company through lonely or scary times. I have also had six dogs since I’ve been married, and there is no greater companion.

    My sincerest condolences.

KBL - I'm so sorry to read of the loss of your beloved pup. It is especially difficult when we have to help them across the rainbow bridge😢 the photo says it all (just substitute him for her)

We just don't know what to do. His mind and emotions are all in tact. It's like his back legs just go a different way then he wants them too. He's still hanging in there. I don't know how much longer we will have him. We decide and then chicken out. He doesn't seem to be in any pain. That will be it. Then we will know. Or if he can't get up at all to go outside. Now he's still making it outside with a little assistance down the five stairs. My DH made them wide for him, so he'd manage them better. You just love them so much. My other dog Deeohgee knows something's up. This is how they have been interacting. imageDeeohgee wants to guard him and watch him. I think he feels something's different with his buddy. They are IN separable it's so freaking sweet. (tag is the Goldie mix)

    Mel,

I SO feel for you. It is not an easy decision to make. But you will know when the right time comes. My Huey Lewis is 14, and he and Teddi are the same way. Inseparable. So I’ll be dealing with this at some point inthe near future too. God bless you, my dear friend.

Thank you BooBoo. It does melt my heart. His little freckled nose. Sigh. Just innocent pure love

Mae~ I wanted to let you know I mailed your masks this morning So maybe like 4 days? With the covid I don't know. Slip says Tuesday. So I guess it's 3 business days , so be on the look out for your Lil ole package!! So glad you wanted some... makes me happy. To share.
I ended up in the fabric store again today. Big shock I know I don't buy big amounts. Five or six masks per. Sitting. I think it is the act of doing something I love. Who knew???

Mel and KBL, I am sorry about your dogs. Mel, I can imagine why your dog is looking after the ailing dog. Dogs do that for each other for sure. Hugs to both of you.

Happy to hear the good reports for people who've had scans.

Today is the day after my Herceptin. I am typically laid pretty low with a lot of fatigue and general unwell feeling. That was no different today but I pushed myself to get some burgers as I was out of them. I also wanted to make sure I had some energy tonight for the movie I am going too. Walk there and back with a quick stop at a grocery store on the way were mostly fine until I was walking up my street. I started feeling weak and was like oh shit, what do I do. There was nowhere to sit and I cannot get up from pavement. I drank a ton of water during the walk which was probably 70 mins in total. I decided to go faster to get to my apartment. Just got in the door, tossed off wig and ball cap and hurried to my bed. I only had to lay there a few minutes cooling off. I got up, drank some chocolate milk after I licked some salt. I also feel fine now. Just have to keep aware how I am feeling. I plan to walk this afternoon but only for short walks on the treadmill, probably 5 mins at a time. Keep up the leg strength without risking the same thing. It is not even hot here which is the funniest thing. May also want to pick up the pace a bit as well.

It was beautiful outside though. Most of the walk was quite enjoyable.

Mara, that's scary! I'm glad you're OK. I walk to the grocery store most days. Ever since I had pneumonia last fall, I have all my "rest" places mapped out, should I need them. I hope you're feeling better soon!

Thanks Sunshine, I felt fine after a few minutes. I don't normally do much the day after Herceptin but felt like I wanted to walk a bit before the movie. I just need to adjust walks to be shorter after chemo. It was the Herceptin that taxed. By the time I ate my lunch, I felt really good and the walk still had the bonus of making me feel more energetic. Looking forward to the movie tonight and I will not fall asleep. Doing some laundry now. It has been a long time since I felt that way. Back in February in fact so that is really really good in my book. There is a park with benches along the way. May just sit on one and drink extra water and take a bite of the granola bar. I think I just burned off breakfast. It was still beautiful outside.

Mara you made it! Probably the medicine made you feel like that. You are very strong keep it up.

Mel sorry about Tag. That's a tough goodbye to say.

I'm listening to GD on zoom. It's a small class size so it sounds like the kids are engaged with the teacher. They must've had training.

    Have a good day all.

Thank you, everyone. I totally get where you’re coming from, Mel. I kept wavering as well, but once I decided, I made the appointment then and there. My guy was not the same dog as 2.5 years ago, so handsome and full and young looking. Here is March of 2018 and yesterday. You can definitely tell the difference and how much weight he had lost. He also had lost all the muscle in his back legs. I just had his yearly shots and ordered his flea medicine and didn’t plan on letting him go, but I just felt it was right. You will know.

Mara, glad you made it home okay, now rest up.

Glad to see all the good scan results!

Mae, I love murder mysteries. Are you reading or watching? I'll be thinking of you Friday with fingers crossed for good news.

KBL, so sorry about your pup. It is so hard I know. Virtual hugs.

Mel, I think, too, you'll know when the time is right, but I imagine the waiting is agony. The love our furry family members give us truly is unconditional. Hugs.

Golden, also glad to see you're now pain free.
