Karen--- Good to hear from you. I was worrying. Wow you have had it rough. Rest now my friend.

Covid vaccine #1 done. Moderna one. Back in 4 weeks for 2nd shot. Didn't even feel the nurse giving it. Lupron hurts worse. But we shall see how I do the next 24 hours. I am not worried. Look what we put in our bodies all the time due to the cancer. I feel like crap most of the time. This should be ok.

Hi all, I’m here, reading mostly. We have a houseguest, which I really inconvenient while packing up the house and during covid but he’s found himself homeless due to a situation I won’t get into publicly but he’s a very good friend and I can’t look at empty bedrooms knowing our friend would be in the street. He tested negative yesterday, so I think it’ll be ok.

Other than that, not much going on here.

iilimae, I feel your pain. I'm not very good at sharing my space - I feel like I can't sit at the computer, or watch something on TV or my phone, or have a snack if I want to...

I hope this is short term, but bless you for opening your home.

Mae~what a conundrum to be in. You want to be a good friend but you don’t want to open Pandora’s box with how long the house guest will stay. Even with my dd spending a few nights here , we were all out of sorts. You feel like you must entertain someone. I’m sorry your friend is having this problem.

jhl, I had never heard of blue finger syndrome. I will mention it again at my next appointment. Thank you.

Candy, I’m so glad you received your first dose. I hope you feel well tomorrow.

Actually, I feel no pressure to entertain and he’s a very good friend of ours. He helps DH with the cabin and moved loads of stuff out there last year, the only concern his his possible exposure, as he spent a few days in the hospital recently. He can stay for at least a month until we head back to the cabin. We’ve had 4 other friends stay with us in the past, each was given 1 year rent free to save up and plan their next step. Two did exactly that, the other two wasted the opportunity. With the extra room we have, it’s not an imposition and we’re just the couple our friends can count on when they fall on hard times.

Karen - So good to see your post; I was wondering how you were doing. I have a small pleural effusion that hasn't changed in a while or caused me trouble. It had to be drained a year ago while I was in the hospital. Hope you're feeling better every day.

Candy - Glad you were able to get the vaccine. I heard a local doctor say on the news that the 2nd injection gave him muscle aches and pains but nothing with the first one. I have no idea when I will be able to get one but I hope it can be in a clinic or doctor's office and not some drive-thru location with God knows who giving the shots!

Mae - You are so kind to help your friend.

Mae~that is an awesome thing you guys are doing for your friend. There should be more people like you. I’m not a people person, more of a creature of habit and a homebody. I think you have a lucky friend there. A year is a long timE and what an opportunity!

In case anyone needs a laugh, I found a picture of myself that bares a resemblance to UK PM Boris Johnson. I was drunk in Vegas, I’m not sure what his excuse is, lol

Karen~I’m sorry you’re. Having a hard time. I am glad to see you here. Sometimes when you don’t see someone you make a mental note and get roll. Call ready. At some point. I hope you’re feeling better soon

Lee~welcome back. Good to see you as well. Hope things are good in your land.

My Arse is feeling a lot better. There is just one spot now giving me issue. Just a certain way I sit or get up. I think it may be where the brunt of the fall went. My goodness. I’m going to crawl around soon. I just can’t fall again. That’s twice this year alone. And a face plant in October 2018. On my way to my friends stage four funeral. Never made it with my bloody face. Would have drawn too much attention. I didn’t want a spectacle made. Ladies please don’t fall. Leave it to me. I’ve fallen enough for us all.

Goldens~ thinking of you and DH.
    Minnie~ thinking of you.

Lynnwood~ been too long. Chicagoan~ hope you’re well. jaycee~ hi there. Cowgirl. Waving hello. KitKat. Waving a hello to you too! Gp. Think of you often.
come on lurkers let us know you’re there! Runor. Hello darling. Miss you around and your humor. Saw jhl pop in. Hello to you. Haven’t seen JKL .

KBL~ also on my mind so much. Sending support from across the miles.

Aw, thank you, Mel. I’m glad you’re feeling better. My mom used to find the parking lot bumpers for cars too irresistible not to trip over. I was in Canada in 2012, not long after my hysterectomy. We were walking on the sidewalk right outside the hotel. One of the sections of sidewalk was a little bit raised. I found it. I was trying extra hard not to fall and actually ended up taking about five running steps forward before I hit the ground. My purse went flying. Luckily, I didn’t break anything. All I remember is my sister laughing her ass off about my trying not to fall. I can’t imagine how I looked. It was really funny after.

    Morning all.

Lots of pocket duty today--- I have down on my list--- Sondra, movingsoccermom, moth, gailmary all with something today. tangandchris results from scans earlier this week?

Well only thing from the 1st Covid vaccine is a sore arm. But with all my other aches and pains no biggie. And just as sore as the Lupron can be some months or the Xgeva can be. No other symptoms.

    Mae,

You are a crazy lady! Love the pic of you and Boris. Your sense of humor is right up my alley...

Mel, SO glad you are starting to feel better. Thinking of you. Bruises be gone!

Karen, I hate the hospital. I always say that if you are really sick, the hospital is the last place to go. I hope you are now getting some rest at home, and feeling better.

I had my 2nd infusion of Abraxane yesterday and still feeling pretty good. DH shaved my head after I got home because last time I had this chemo, all of my hair fell out after dose 2. So I’m on round 3 of being bald. Yipppeeeeeeee...

I also saw my Pulmonologist, and she put me on Prednisone to combat the Sarcoidosis. I’m feeling very energetic.

Candy, please let us know after you get your second shot. I’m so excited that one of us has gotten it so you can report back your experience.

Tanya, hope you and DH are doing well. Really hoping we can get together for lunch again.

Karen, Your hospital stay sounded tough. I’m glad you got a separate room from all the stressful ones. I hope you’re comfortable at home now with the drainage done and the infection being treated. I was wondering how you were doing too. So many of us care about you. 🌺

Mel, glad you’re improving, and the keychain is perfect, especially here on this thread!

Candy, one down, one to go. Are you restarting Ibrance in between or just staying off? I forgot what you said earlier.

Mae, Love the pic with you and cousin Boris!

Booboo, That’s good the chemo hasn’t been too bad. Sorry about the third time bald. That’s a crappy side effect but hopefully the drug does it’s job and knocks back the cancer.

Good thing I’m doing nothing today, I’ll be jumping in and out of pockets. Best wishes to all of you with things happening today. Thanks again Candy, for reminding us

Booboo- Good to hear from you-- bald head and all. Glad the Abraxane is treating you ok so far. Hug from here.

Rosie- My MO said to hold Ibrance for 1 week after the vaccine. So I took out the calendar today and planned on what days to take Ibrance. I will hold again 1 week before 2nd vaccine appointment and 1 week after that one too. Then finally back on track, I hope.

Karen, wow, what an unpleasant adventure. I'm glad you were able to get your separate room and be in a calmer space. Fingers crossed the whole effusion thing is over now.

    illimae - you're good people

guys, i had a funny thing about my ct scan. Was supposed to be 7pm today. On Tuesday we booked grocery curbside pick up this week & not thinking properly, booked 6-7 pm on Thursday. Then suddenly dh says, hey, that won't work! So I login to change the order & turns out they won't change time slots... you actually have to cancel the order & re-book it. Fine, did that for 3 pm. (it's a huge order of stuff & we really need it now). Then CT calls me and they've moved my appt....to 3 pm!

We're just going to roll with this now. Dh doesn't want me to drive to & from the CT alone - he figures I'm a bit stressed & shouldn't be driving. So we can't split up.. oh well, it will all work out. And I don't think I'm stressed. I spent some time on the not "dx but worried" section recently and someone said something like 'the scan doesn't change what's already there so no point in worrying about it' & I'm trying to implement that philosophy and right now it seems to be working.

I also have to see my GP for a Prolia shot today. Will be glad to get all this done today.

Yesterday I got over 11K steps because in addition to the walks and a longer zumba session, I was trying to learn some new choreography & got all stubborn about figuring it out lol

hugs everyone & pocket duty for those doing tests/procedures today!

Karen~I want to hug that nurse. That's some aware nurse. Those are the best. So I'm going to say. Thank you to all nurses. You're pretty amazing. I'm sorry you had such a hard time. I wish I could change things for all of us. I would in a snap. Good to see you. Really good after what you've been through. Rest up my friend..

good to see Bliss back. Haven’t seen Dodgersgirl.

Waving to Kat hope the infusion wasn’t too bad.

Wow, Moth, that is crazy. Sounds like something that would happen to me. Most days (all days) there is nothing to do, but then double book something !!!! You will be ok with the CT, and you can have the grocery items you need at home when you get there. Are you still getting groceries AND doing the CT? I reread your post and you said you are going to "roll with this".

Tappin my toes here after ct until I can go home. They asked for a 15 minute wait just in case with the contrast. MRI was earlier and this place I had the option of music so I asked for 80s. The scan was almost finished when I realised all the singers for all the songs I listened to during the mri were dead :/

Pizza tonight for sure, even though you know the scan drill it is always tiring, especially to do the double (MO wants a full spine every other scan session, so every 8 months). Clothes on, clothes off. Jeans up, jeans down. No, I don't have any ports, implants, surgery, metal, missing lymphnodes. No I am not some random just off the street looking for a chest/pelvis ct. No this isn't my first rodeo. Yes, I know what that makes me.

Karen, I am glad you checked in and are now home, what a horrible hospital experience though!

Mel, I saw dodgers I think in another thread recently. Any word from Philly?

candy, yes, we'll do both the ct & groceries! We'll just plod on from appointment to appointment and I'm sure it will all work out :D

Moth, sometimes it is better to get things done all at once.

Mel glad you are feeling better.\

I went for a walk after I got up. Made a to do list thanks to an idea from someone on this site. Done a couple of things. Still have another couple of walks to go.

    Hi ladies

I'm in a bit of a daze and somewhat numb.

I had a PET Monday and CT's yesterday. I went to the hospital to pick up the report on the CT. Oh how I wish I had waited.

Looks like treatment isn't working. And it's only been 2 cycles. I have a new mass on my iliac wing, more nodes on my abdomen and more pulmonary nodules.

    I feel devastated right now.

I have an appointment Monday at MO. But my regular dr is out. So I'm seeing another guy to discuss this crap sandwich.

tangandchris, I’m sorry to hear this and understand the state you in. Do you know what the next step in treatment is and is there any plan to biopsy anything to see if the pathology has changed?

  • mara51506
    mara51506 Member Posts: 6,466

TangandChris, I am sorry to hear this, that really is discouraging to be doing treatment and it has not worked. Hope you get more info on what you can do or move on to next. I agree with Mae, it may be prudent to ask if they can biopsy again to make sure it has not changed. Unless I missed you saying you had a biopsy on it already.

Tangaandchris hopefully the substitute doctor will be extra kind knowledgeable and understanding.

Moth I hope the groceries and appts work out. I’m still plodding along with my backyard project.

Mae I love your pic and the fact that you and your husband are such wonderful friends. Booboo three balds is tough. You sound like you have a good attitude. I’m hopeful fo a vaccine by March maybe. DH had one already but nothing available for me yet in my group. They’re only taking essential medical workers and 65 and up. But I know people who have gotten shots outside of this bracket so we’ll see...

    Waving hello to everyone.

tangandchris- Oh my. So sorry. This is crap. I hate cancer. Praying for your MO appt on Monday. Form your questions over the weekend, maybe a biopsy to check if the profile has changed. Hug from here. I hate cancer.

tangandchris, I'm sorry to hear that your treatment didn't work, hopefully they can get you on a path that works for you.

My infusion has been postponed until 2pm my time today, I really hope this works.

Karen, glad to hear you're home now.

Good to hear you're on the mend Mel.
