Just got back! DH and I had a wonderful time. I’ve now moved off the ship and on to the tour bus, my DH drives for Alan Parsons (recent Grammy winner, congrats 🎉) and I’ll fly home in a couple days. Here are some vacation pics 😀

Philly - when are you doing that trip? I am doing something similar the end of August - week long hike starting in Italy and ending in Zermatt, Switzerland. hiking around the MAttherhorn, I think. Not on my list either, but I was invited to go and the trip looks amazing - all preplanned so I just show up.

I have been thinking about this list a lot and really need to make a commitment to myself to start checking one or two things off a year!

Any fellow Canadians have information or advice on travel insurance for pre existing conditions and cost? Any and all information is appreciated

Hi Sherry, just in case you don’t get answers here, you might search “travel insurance”, I recall seeing a post about it recently.

Oh, and I’ll be crossing another one off my list in a couple weeks. Flying to Vegas and have reservations at Gordon Ramsay’s Hell’s Kitchen!

illimae thank you! And holy cow- Vegas and Gordon Ramsey's restaurant! That sounds like a lot of fun! Enjoy

I hope you are all busy crossing things off your lists!

My husband had a great idea for us to create a vision board of bucket list ideas so we will start that once we are in our new place in the middle of May.

I will be crossing an NFL game off my list in December and we are booking a trip to Florida at the beginning of October. I want to drive a bit out of our way down the coast so I can cross a few other places off of my list! I am going so outside of my comfort zone by booking these things now!

    Cheers all

    Hi Sherry,

Sorry to be slow to respond to your question about insurance. I don't know what the equivalent is in Ontario but I found a great plan last year through the BC Automobile Association. It covered pre-existing conditions and was not horribly expensive. The payout would not be huge but it would be enough to get you patched up and on a plane home which is likely the best course of action.

I am taking my kids to see Stonehenge and Rome and Greece. I can't wait. I have been there and it is so important to the continuity of life.

    I am adding

    1. Watching all 22 Marvel movies. Seen 5 at this time!

    2. Train trip to anywhere that includes a sleeper car.

    3. Visit lighthouses in the northeast of USA.

Sandibeach57 and everyone else: I cannot think even three days ahead let alone make a bucket list.

1 Living longer than the stats is first on the list, though.

    2. Get my energy and interest back and start making dolls again (and hope neuropathy doesn't screw that up)

    3. Spend a long time in the Cotswolds

4 .Go to Normandy, where my maternal grandfather came from

    5. .Go to Spain, Portugal or both

.6. Go to Patagonia, don't know why; I just do

Insuremytrip.com is a great resource for travel insurance. You can specify a trip with pre-existing condition insurance.

I'm about to go on a trip to Venice where we will take a cruise to Greek isles, Croatia, and Montenegro. Super excited about this!

nbnotes..you give me incentive to travel. Maybe I need to add to my bucket list YOUR trip!! I also made note of that travel insurance site.

Elderberry: I get what you are saying 100%. When I was first diagnosed, my Palliative Care RN helped me to create a list for one day, then one week, then one month, then 3 months. I still don't plan over 6 months..but I need to stop that. I hope you go on every single one of your trips.

    I’m getting in on this!

Spend a month traveling through Italy

    Go back to Costa Rica

Visit the 5 Utah national parks

I’m interested in a few other countries in Europe - Ireland, Amsterdam, Switzerland, Spain

Spend a month in a cabin on a lake or in the wilds of Montana or Wyoming

See my son graduate high school and college (he’s in 4th grade now)

    See Cirque du Solie live

I might go in on a new business venture (starting a coffee truck)

Jen, lol, that’s how I was when I saw the pigs!

Also, I found a place where (for a price), I can hold/pet/feed a sloth. A longtime dream for me.

I fell very much in love with a sloth we got to see in Costa Rica in 2017. There were 3 in a tree - a baby or young one that hid or was asleep; an adult that slept upside down; and one that was awake and moving toward food. It was a joy to watch them

Jensgotthis has inspired me.... I want to add:

Spend a month in Italy (I'd actually like to hike that trail that goes from Florence to Rome... through Tuscany and Umbria. I think it takes about a month)

Spend a month on a lake in Montana. Or, move there permanently.

I think my list is pretty long at this point! I need to get on it.
