    Snooky,

I too think the MOs try to switch treatments too fast sometimes. I'm glad you're going to give xeloda more time. It doesn't make sense does it, your blood tests were all good yet there is progression.

I left Joe's fb group awhile back. It was just too depressing to read the posts.

Snooky, I think its a good thing to give the xeloda more time. Especially considering the tumor markers are continuing to drop. Perhaps the tumors that haven't shrunk yet are just in terms of size, responding more slowly? If that makes any sense. Not growing is good too.

snooky...I've been thinking about the inconsistencies of your mixed report and wondering if we're not being to harsh on the FZ...

It's disappointing to not experience what we all expected, a full response Ike Joe did, but how do we know the role the FZ could have possibly played in your overall results? would they have been the same without it? Would taking it longer make a more obvious difference?

I guess the lack of successful stories on FB is too disconcerting.....

Snooky, sorry about the sad couple of days. I don't think your scans sound all that bad either and glad you desided to stay on X for a bit longer.

Frisky, you too, down in the dumps. Huggles for both of you.

I too am almost ready to give up on the FZ. Been on it since August, 4 months, and not seeing anything. I was so hoping!

Dear friends, I just wanted to confirm if you took FenBen with other 3 ingredients in Joe's protocol? Joe has stressed that all 4 components have to be taken, as he was instructed by his friend. Do you think it is worth to make any analysis for "cohort" on this thread? I mean... I have no right to ask for it as we still did not try this protocol but wouldn't the summary be a good thing? We could share an Excel table online and maybe draw some conclusions? Sorry to be so annoying just before Christmas... Saulius

Poster from SABCS on CBD (very interesting):

Saulius, I took the E and Curcumin but not the CBD oil because of the cost, and because I didn't think and still don't think it would have made any difference....

What is obvious by now, is that just about everything on this planet, in clinical studies, seems to have anti cancer properties...that is until they are actually used by sick people, then it's a whole other story...

Happy Holidays to you all my friend! May the New Year be a good one for all of us!

Snooky I agree with Frisky there is a lot of good news and try to focus on that. Here is some info on halaven--they probably already gave it to you, but I was also interested in what it was/did.

    http://chemocare.com/chemotherapy/drug-info/halaven.aspx

debbew had also posted this on Breaking Research page. . this looked interesting and will be starting more human trials on it--looks like in Australia: https://themarketherald.com.au/prescient-therapeutics-asxptx-reports-positive-results-in-breast-cancer-drug-trial-2019-12/

I am wishing all of you a blessed, peace-filled Merry Christmas season--I need to get back to majorly cleaning my house!!! LOL.

Dear Frisky, yes, absolutely, I agree... there's no magic. So much depends on drug/anticancer-potent-compound delivery to these cells, and we, human beings, are universes with crazy chemical/mechanical complexity - we are not a simple dish with 100 cells in one solvent:/ I am sorry I raised the topic. When I pray in the evenings I always ask god for three things: wisdom, patience and endurance. Wish it all for everyone. Happy holidays to everyone. Sincerely, Saulius

Saulius, no need to apologize you and everyone participating on these boards are a God send. I think I would have gone insane already without the deeper understanding that we receive from sharing our experiences of this disease and relative treatments.

What I find amazing is that yes, we are all different and that might explain the diversity of results from the same tx— although obtaining different results would make, by their own definition, all these treatments highly unscientific, or as they like to call it QUACKERY —BUT what is difficult to accept is that we are still treated equally, we all the get the same txs.

The difference is between her2 or triple negative and that's it! They are not even remotely ready in taking into consideration anything else that could make the difference, and it's left up to us to figure out what's feeding our cancers....I find all this absurd, considering how many billions have been spent on breast cancer research alone.

two promising results, new MBC drugs, in clinical trials- just posted on Lumpie's thread. They will be looking to fast track one of them...

Dear Frisky, I feel the same way you do but I think these suckers are not worth your anger, and as we are caught in this situation, we must not loose direction and do something. Without advertising anything, Joe states that CBD is one of the main ingredients, and 25 mg/d is ~$4, so expensive but manageable. I can assure you (if you read our story once again), I was stunned at the impact it gave us in the middle of very harsh chemo. I do not state it will do the same for everyone, I just say it fixed blood, sleep, moods for sure. Maybe FenBen dilutes in CBD, god only knows...

The "Super Greens' powder Dr Block recommended to me contains sea greens. It's organic dessicated green juice. Easy to toss a tsp of the powder into a smoothie or dilute w water and just drink it. Lately I have fallen off the regular use of super greens and it is a good reminder to get back to it!

Further to Santabarbara's post about experimental drug ptx-200:

In this Phase 2a study, eleven patients were enrolled with locally advanced, HER2-negative breast cancer and receiving 35mg of PTX-200, together with 80mg per week of paclitaxel, followed by standard AC therapy and surgery.

According to Prescient, results obtained from the eleven women that participated in the trial exhibited an overall response rate of 91% with two patients experiencing a complete eradication of the disease.

All patients that could be evaluated responded to therapy and all experienced varying degrees of response to Prescient's lead drug candidate.

The success rate achieved compares well with typical expectations within the medical healthcare sector of around 16%, for women with locally advanced ER-positive and HER2 negative breast cancer.

As part of the company's commentary of the published results, one aspect highlighted by Prescient has been durability of response.

Following the trial, patients will continue to be evaluated to monitor disease progression with Prescient confirming that 9 out of the 10 patients currently being monitored have remained cancer-free to date.

"These promising results are an important clinical milestone in our work to find better treatments for breast cancer," said Prescient Therapeutics chief executive officer and managing director Steven Yatomi-Clarke.

"Results indicate that the most responsive patient population to our therapy in breast cancer is patients with ER-positive disease and that we should focus on this subset of patients for PTX-200," he said.

Yes, but unfortunately, and forgive me if I read this incorrectly, although they are going into clinical trials on this drug, they will most likely be in Australia -- definitely not in the US because of the cost of clinical trials. (If it wasn't this drug that said that, it was another one posted today.) It sure would be nice if they would focus on ER positive folks -- a lot of the new drugs seem to be for Triple Neg -- I realize that that's a need, too, for sure, but it seems that they either hit one target or another. Perhaps it has to do with the almighty dollar? There are several big money ER positive drugs out there now that are pretty far from coming off patent, so perhaps that's the drug cos. try to hit other targets that can make them $$$.

At least they got the strongest results on the ER positive patients with the ptx-200.

    simone60 Member Posts: 952

ptx-200 sounds promising. Too bad the clinical trials are in Australia. Does anyone know how long it takes a drug on avg to be available to everyone?

  • husband11
    husband11 Member Posts: 1,287

I would say that if the phase 3 clinical trial was done, it could be approved in a couple of years. But, they haven't even started the phase 3 yet, right? And that could be a 2 year trial. Makes me think that it will be at least 5 years until this drug is available.

It is literally called "super greens", the brand I got is by Nested Naturals

    https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00U47FDP6/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_image?ie=UTF8&psc=1

It tastes pretty mild. In a smoothie, you taste nothing. Sort of a lettuce flavor...

    Santa,

I had not been aware of this guy until I went to my first metastatic BC discussion group early in December. After the meeting was over, I walked out with an MD who is also Stage 4 but doing very well. She and I discussion COC, your Dr. Block, and some other things, and she suggested that I read this guy's book (Dr. Li). She said it was fabulous. I intend to do so.

    Good find.

Sorry to break in, but if you have Thoughts on Medical Cannabis, could you Take Our Survey. Only for those living in the US, and who have been diagnosed less than 5 years ago. Will take 10-15 minutes to complete. Thank you!
