So sorry Arkansas. Your governor doesn't seem to know she should be celebrating the Eclipse and welcoming all the business and income from visitors. But look — she was dismal in the WH when she worked for Trump. She obviously is incapable of improvement. Hopefully, you won't hire her again.

Trump’s Ex-Press Secretary Revealed Donald Repeatedly Instructed Her To Lie To The Public Because He Knew His Supporters Are Gullible Enough To Believe It

    'He knows he's lying...'

    by Andrea Thompson28 seconds ago28 seconds ago647ShareTweet

Donald Trump’s former press secretary turned devout Trump critic Stephanie Grisham has once again spilled the tea on her former boss — this time all but letting the former president’s own base know just how stupid and gullible he really thinks they are.

In the midst of the January 6th anniversary of the violent, Trump-fueled attack on the US Capitol, Stephanie Grisham sat down for an interview with CNN’s Jim Acosta, in which they spoke about the events that took place at the Capitol on January 6th, 2021, and Donald Trump’s deep-seated claims and so-called beliefs that he was the true and rightful winner of the 2020 presidential election, despite his clear and repeatedly confirmed loss to Joe Biden.

Trump has recently doubled back down on his notorious “Big Lie” claims to the public, as the 2024 presidential election closes in, but Grisham says that at the root of it all, there’s not a shadow of doubt in her mind that even Donald himself knows it’s all a big, fat lie — he just doesn’t care, because he knows his base of supporters will believe whatever he says.

Speaking with Acosta, Grisham explained, “He knows he’s lying. He used to tell me when I was press secretary, go out there and say it. It doesn’t matter, Stephanie. Say it over and over and over again. People will believe it. He knows his base believes in him. He knows he can basically say anything, and his base will believe what he’s saying.”

The former Trump press secretary went on to say that, while his lies and gullible base will likely help him secure the 2024 primaries, she expects it to backfire in his face when it comes to the general election.

“I think this will help propel him into the general, but I think that independents and center-leaning Republicans are not going to be buying this,” Grisham explained. “They’re much, much smarter than that. I think he’s going to get in trouble with it in the general with these kinds of lies.”

This prompted the CNN host to ask Grisham about a recent poll that showed approximately one-third of people actually believe that the January 6th Capitol attack was caused by the FBI. Former Republican Congressman Adam Kinzinger told CNN that unhinged and baseless theories like this were heavily propped up by the likes of Fox News and Trump-loving members of Congress, but Grisham likened the whole thing to more of a cult — and she’s far from the first former Trump admin employee to express similar sentiment.

    Grisham explained:

I think that when you believe in somebody so much, when you believe in somebody like Donald Trump, and I can speak to this because I actually did believe in him for a very long time, I think that when you put it all on the line and believe in somebody, I think it’s easier to just want to believe that the FBI, that law enforcement, that the people who go to help us when we’re in trouble would be behind something, rather than admitting that the person you’ve been backing for years and years is a fraud and actually doesn’t care about the American people or our country.”

The former Trump press secretary went on to note that she was speaking from a position of personal experience and even admitted that she personally struggled to come to terms with who Donald Trump truly is “because I really believed in him, his policies, and the person I thought he was.”

“I think that people just would rather believe these conspiracy theories rather than admit that they were wrong about this person,” Grisham said.

Sick, twisted and going to jail. But then — nothing about him has changed — except the going to jail part.

So, his real aim is helping the wealthy stay that way — so he too reaps the rewards. Us little guys — who are we. No one the Loon knows.

I actually have a video copy of GWTW and have seen the movie multiple times. It was just so mesmerizing to me with all the color and pageantry. Strong female characters.

Wow! An illustrated copy of GWTW. That is very special. I read the book over and over throughout high school and early college days. After a year of Italian classes, I even tried to read it in Italian. The title in Italian? Via col Vento 😊

Count me as another who loved Gone With the Wind, both the book and the movie. I read it in 8th grade. I loved carrying the book around with me in junior high. It was like a status symbol, “Look at this massive 864 page book I’m reading.” Yes, I remember the page count. I saw the movie in the mid-1970s and loved it, too. To me, it was such perfection that years later when the heirs of author Margaret Mitchell’s estate had someone write the sequel, I chose not to read it or see the miniseries based off of it.

Trivia: Clark Gable was born about 30 minutes from where I live.

Today, dh and I drove a little over an hour north to just above Youngstown to see the solar eclipse in its totality. We weren’t sure if clouds would get in the way, but they didn’t! We had a spectacular view; It was magnificent!

Lucky you on the eclipse viewing! There was supposed to be a 30% view here in the Santa Clara Valley. I was driving back from the Napa Valley, 90 minutes north east, but didn’t notice anything, not even a change in the light. When I got home I watched live TV coverage. It was pretty spectacular !

We weren't in the path at all, so had to enjoy it vicariously by watching TV.

My brain hurts: Did MJG really says that the earthquake in New York and the solar eclipse were proof of God's anger about Biden's "slack" border policies

I wish that I had been in the path of God's wrath today :-)

Yes, the maggot said that and it is just another one of her insane proclamations. I wish she would choke on her tongue.

It appears that the rapture was a miserable failure just like most repugnican utterings. I am disappointed that they didn't ascend to wherever and remain here.

I did in fact buy the "Gone With the Wind" sequel. I tried to read it, but less than half way through and it is far too cumbersome. The story line in it is repetitious, boring and not at all even believable. I could have written it and likely anyone here could have. So, the book is now un-touched and un-opened and will end up in one of my donation boxes. The old and younger Scarlet seemed so much more genuine, and this one just comes off as petty and a bit ignorant for what she believes people will 'buy' from her. To me she is just too old to stamp her feet or swoon.

Elderberry yes…we all have brain pain from MTG. Only those like her who have little to no brain at all can say such ignorantly painful things — at least with a straight face. Wish someone would have swooped down for her and those like her, but as the world turns — we are still stuck with those hopeless beings.

Betrayal I do so love the picture of MTG chocking on her own tongue. So fitting.

illinois, my DD loved GWTW and I even bought her a ceramic plate with a scene painted on it of Scarlette and her suiters. She read the book and bought the second one and hated the second one too! I saw the movie multiple times but don't remember reading the book. Reading was not something I liked to do in my teen years, unless it was about the Beatles in Teen Magazine or Tiger Beat.

MTG is the east end of a horse going west! Lindsey is "Mr. Wishy Washy!" Lindsey will say whatever he thinks the person he is talking to wants to hear. I once respected him, once, as in a lifetime ago!

I saw Biden's commercial about a woman from Texas who almost died due to a pregnancy that should have been aborted, yet couldn't be, because she lived in Texas. I hope they run more ads like that, real people suffering from Republican agendas!

I think all men who were convicted of rape should be castrated……….guess who should be first in line!
