    Chicken Lickin

One day a  teacher was reading the story of chicken little to her first grade class room. She came to the part of the story where chicken little tries to warn the farmer. She read.....so chicken little ran up to the farmer and said the sky is falling the sky is falling!

The teacher paused, and then asked the class.... what do you think the farmer said?

One little girl in the back row raised her hand ...I think he said holy sh@t a talking chicken

    Laughing keep clucking ladies

  • If a bird in the hand is worth two in the bush, what is a chicken in the hand worth?

  • EGGS
    a poem
by Ogden Nash Let's think of eggs.
    They have no legs.
    Chickens come from eggs
    But they have legs.
    The plot thickens;
    Eggs come from chickens,
But have no legs under 'em.
    What a conundrum!

    Chickens
    Chickens look peculiar.
They feed on worms and seed.
We eat so many of them
It's a wonder they can breed.

They scratch and cluck and peck all day,
    Or sit there laying eggs.
They haven't got the faintest clue
    That people eat their legs.

    Chickens are all feathery.
    They strut about with pride.
You couldn't eat a raw one,
    But they're great Kentucky-fried.

    Although chickens have got wings
    No one lets them fly.
Instead we make them run around
    'Cause we like chicken thigh.

    Chickens in the chicken hut.
    Chickens in the yard.
You can eat most of them,
But their beaks are pretty hard.

    Puff puff pass

Nanay--waving not laughing at you. Every person here has gone through or is going through what you  are going through. Regretfully, my husband and I did it at the same time. We have a picture taken of us being bald at the same time. He passed away in Aug 2010. He would be the first to say that this is the greatest thread, but he can't. His humor is what I miss the most and his closeness and his kindness and Him with me everyday.

Cancer is not a joke, it's devastating to those that have it and to those that love them.  Even if one goes through treatment and is considered CURED.  The cancer thoughts linger--everyday. What we choose here to do, is make a joke about it as much as possible. It lends a little sanity to an insane situation.

Historically, if you look at the history of Jokes. A jester was able to take a phrase, a word and find what was funny about it. The funniness most often was directed at what was absurd. The jester would make/help the audience see that absurdity.  AND if anyone can find anything more absurd than CANCER, they would be hard pressed to convince anyone here or elsewhere that the millions killed world wide by cancer, that it is absurd.

I noticed that your from Singapore,  there might be a cultural difference in what is a joke. Please, do not take that as a negative. Here in the USA I would have said Slam instead of a negative. But it's a different cultural use of the word I'm guessing.

Nanay, please I invite you to join us. Read from page one.  Think about what I said about the absurd. Relax and laugh. We can't change what has happened to us, we can choose how we deal with it. With respect, sas
