Lymph node removed but pathology says no evidence of lymphatic tissue found!
Has anybody had masectomy with sentinel lymph node removed but pathology says no lymphatic tissue found? I’m seeing breast surgeon tomorrow and oncologist next week. Will I need another procedure? I’m not sure I’m comfortable not having lymph node tested as this is my second time having breast cancer!

Studies that prove early detection of stage IV recurrence extending survival time?
Can you please point me to any studies that show that early detection of metastatic stage IV breast cancer results in longer survival ? If this matters, I'm talking about ER+. HER2-. I know that it's a common opinion that early detection of such recurrence does not result in longer life, but are there any studies that…

Any studies that prove early detection of stage IV recurrence extending survival time?
Dear All, Can you please point me to any studies that show that early detection of metastatic stage IV breast cancer results in longer survival ? If this matters, I'm talking about ER+. HER2-. I know that the standard of care dictates that early detection of such recurrence does not result in longer life, but are there any…

Well here I am again…
After 10 years, here I am again. I meet with my oncologist and surgeon soon. Still waiting on HER Fish results. Will be going for an MRI soon. I figure I’m facing mastectomy as I had lumpectomy/radiation the first go round. It’s in same breast.

Possible round 2 with cancer and scared

Hysterectomy and oopherectomy in 2020 after issues with ovarian cysts and heavy bleeding. Had more genetic testing and nothing showed. Could not…

Second time around questions
After 7 years past double mastectomy without issue (no other treatment at that time), I was recently diagnosed with a new breast cancer occurrence, a 1-2 cm lump in my breast skin. After two surgeries and three lymph nodes removed, all testing positive for same breast cancer (ER+, PR+, HER2-), I'm told I will have to do a…

Lymph node enlarged
I had a mastectomy two years ago following 8cm DCIS. They found 5mm of tumor and sent it for oncotype but not enough to be analysed so no chemo. All lymph nodes clear and had reconstruction. Last year I felt a raised part under my arm same side as mastectomy. Had an ultrasound and nothing showed up so consultant thought it…

Recurrence after Mastectomy, then positive margins
Hello, I am hoping to connect with people who might have a similar situation to mine, although I think (?) my situation might be on the rare side. Six years ago I was diagnosed with Stage 1B IDC. I am BRCA2. I did a double mastectomy with reconstruction (implants) and was told chemo/radiation not needed since my tumor was…

Options for New Atypical Findings After Treatment
Hi all, long post to give context but the TLDR is — what to do about a large lump with high-risk/atypical findings (but not necessarily malignant) and positive-margins in one breast five years after early stage cancer in the other breast? Five years ago, I had a lumpectomy and radiation for stage 1 ER/PR-negative cancer in…

Radiation & tamoxifen - necessary...?
Hi everyone, I’d really appreciate hearing from others in a similar situation. I’m in my early 40s, no kids, not close to menopause, and recently had a lumpectomy for a 12 mm, grade 1, ER+/PR+ HER2- IDC (plus a small area of DCIS). Margins were clear, and there was no lymph node involvement. My Ki-67 is low (10%), and I’ve…

Lung Nodule Incidental Finding
UPDATE - most likely benign - see below for details and cautions of how one scan leads to another…to another…to… Had a cardiac CT due to elevated LDL cholesterol. All clear so no statin - 0 calcium score. BUT a pulmonary nodule, partly solid, "measuring up to 9 mm" was found on the lower lobe of my right lung. No…

PET-CT scans after node recurrence (and while on Verzenio)?
Hi everyone. Looking for some advice from all you wise, brave folks. I had IDC 18 years ago; ER+, PR+, HER2 neg/double mastectomy/chemo/tamox/negative sentinel nodes. A year ago was diagnosed with an aggressive axillary node recurrence; surgery to remove 8 nodes, 4 pos, 4 neg. Went on letrozole, had radiation, now 9 months…

Scared!
Hello all! Scared!! Found a lump the other day in my 12-year post diagnosis breast. I had DMX, followed by chemo, bilateral reconstruction, a fat graft transfer and 10 years of anastrazole. At the time, I was stage 2 grade 1 and no LVI. I saw my primary today and was referred to our local breast cancer center, but I can't…

Stage 1a to Stage 4 in 6 years. 39 yo. Mets to liver & bone. Chek2+
Hi everyone, my first dx was in 2018 (age 32) after self discovery. I had a Bi-lat mastectomy and had been on tamoxifen. Oncotype 11 so no chemo recommended. ER+/PR+. Chek2 positive. Feeling great with no symptoms, I did a Galleri test this October 2024, which came back with positive breast signal. CT scan w contrast…

Seeking Advice on Breast Reconstruction After TNBC Recurrence
Hello everyone, I was initially diagnosed with triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC) 11 years ago and underwent treatment at that time. Recently, I’ve been informed that the cancer has returned, but it’s still in the early stages. My doctor has suggested that I consider breast reconstruction surgery, but I’m currently…

Recurrence and Now Down the Rabbit Hole
I was dx in 2011 with IDC ER+PR+Her2-. It was in the left breast around 1.2cm. I had a lumpectomy, chemo (TCx4) and rads. I couldn't tolerate Tamoxifen so I took Aspirin each day as the theory back then was it could keep inflammation down and possibly ER+ away. So here I am 13 years later and my mammo showed I now have 2…

Concerns about microcalcification cluster ignored by doctors for over a year
Hi there, I'm roughly 18 months out from my original diagnosis of IDC Grade 1, Stage (Onco 9) and have some concerns. My initial biopsy was for a group of microcalcifications (turned out benign) and architechtural distortion (maligant). However, during this initial the biopsy, the radiologist found a second set of…

Financial planning after diagnosis at 40
I was recently diagnosed at 40 with IDC, Stage IA, ER+/PR+/HER2-, Grade 2, and completed a bilateral mastectomy. I met with my MO this week and started tamoxifen, and I have a pleural effusion I’m still getting checked out (aware that that has revealed lung mets for other women, so I may not be out of the woods just yet).…
