Cy- Nicki is just NE of me, I am in the mid with red hair, next to the martian.lol
Nicki- just so know, no pressure from me, but tomorrow is the Great National Smoke-Out. I quit smoking on so many of these days, always the Thur before Thanksgiving.0 -
The following is something my niece wrote that I thought I'd share with all of you. She has had a really tough year. Between dealling with my BC, her Mom & stepdad splitting up, moving out of state and on her own for the first time & her first boyfriend, (he introduced her to her fiancee) commiting suicide. I thought this was really mature of her to write this.
You know so many times when people say that there's life after [insert some big event/tragedy here], they are actually right. Life always seems to move on, no matter how we feel at the time. It may feel as if the world has come to a stand still in our moment of happiness/sadness, but it really hasn't. There is no big red button with the word STOP on it. Man do I wish there was at times. It always feels as if it would just be easier to deal with if time stood still. When in reality, the fact that it doesn't is what helps you deal and move on. And really in the long run, life after isn't so bad. Every event/tragedy changes you, makes you look at the world just a slight bit different then before. Sure life is different but its still life is it not? I've had plenty of "there's life after.." moments. Some harder to move on than others (deaths and divorce are at the top of this category of course). I try to keep the perspective that, though mysterious and at times incomprehensible, God knows what He's doing. He knows that everything that occurs will have effects on many different people. It's all of our jobs to try to understand that what happened is really for the best, though it really may not seem like it. And to figure out the life after that everyone tells us there is. So with that in mind, I step forward knowing that more "Life After" moments will occur on this crazy journey I call my life. And when I reach the end of the journey I can look back and know I was strong enough to keep finding that Life After I was told about.0 -
Ok I think I got Niki on the map, hopefully she's in the right place

Amy - Sending you good wishes for the bone scan tomorrow!
Cheryl - Wow, what a mature, well-spoken (well, well-written I guess!) girl! You must be proud of her.
Everyone else, been a long rather hectic day here, so I'm hitting the hay early. I did manage to squeeze in another 20 minutes on the Nordic Trak (thanks for the inspiration Nicki!) and I managed to cook up some yummy pasta with eggplant, grape tomatos, peas and garlic. Tormented my son with whole wheat pasta (his with just butter and cheese!)
Sweet dreams to all!0 -
Cheryl - Thanks for setting up the map. I managed to figure out how to post my location. It will be fun to check and see how many "girls" there are and where we all are from.
Last night my husband and I went to see the WHO (Pretenders were the opening act). I was so tired, I sat through most of the concert! He bought the tickets this summer. The concert was awesome. Will need to go to bed early tonight to catch up on lost sleep last night - it was after midnight when we got home. Getting too old to stay that late on a work night!
Hope everyone is doing well. I've been on the Effexor for two weeks today and I think it is working. I am not as weepy, but I do have my ups and downs. A side benefit is that my knees haven't been as sore the past few days (or I've just gotten used to the Arimidex). My brain is not working well enough to note each person by name - but I think of everyone and appreciate this thread and all the support.0 -
Cheryl, what an amazing young woman. Thank you so much for sharing that.
Laura, hope you have results tomorrow.
Amy, will be thinking of you tomorrow and will be there for your scan.
Hugs to all.

Oh Good Morning Evreyone: Looks like Vickie gets the early morning crown today. I dont have alot of time - exercised and have an early morning meeting. Oh how I hate those early morning meetings.
Its cloudy and cold. The winds are coming to the chicagoland area of the circle. Right off Lake Michigan - that always makes it colder!! Gotta make sure and dress warm today. When Im feeling really stress while driving, and rush hour in Chicago is stressful - I listen to "Enya" So Im gonna leave you with one of my favorite songs.
PILGRIM
Pilgrim, how you journey
On the road you did not chose
To find out where the winds die
And where the stories go
All days come from one day
That must you must know
You cannot change what's over
But only where you go.
One ways lead to diamonds
One way leads to gold
Another leads you only
To Everything you're told
In your heart you wonder
Which of these is true
The road that leads to nowhere,
Or The road that leads to you
Will you find the answer
In all you and do?
Will you find the answer
In You?
Each heart is a pilgrim
Each one wants to know
The reason why the winds die
And where the stories go
Pilgrim, in your journey
You may travel far
For Pilgrim it's a long way
To find out who you are
Pilgrim, its a long way
To find out who you are
"Sisters it takes a long time
To find out who we are.
Have a wonderful day

Great song Nicki and I don't want the early morning crown! I want to SLEEP! AAUUUGGHHHH. I wake up between 2 and 3:30 every stinking morning and that's it...no more sleep for me...toss and turn till the alarm goes off...then I feel like I could sleep...can't win!
Deb...not sure if those girls are frolicing or doing a rain dance! All we have had is rain...tell them to cut it out. Find us some sunshine dancers. Loved your end of chemo party pictures...the nurse must have just loved that!
Hitched up and ready to go to all with your appointments today...need to check our circle girls map to see where you all are.
No time to take notes...have a desk full of work and the school is closing early for the next four school days for teachers conferences...what a pain. Instead of just giving them a full day or two off they send them home at 12:30. If he has a full day off he can come to work with me but no...the school has to get that state aid so they screw up everyones schedule. And...it's only the elementary school that's being let out early so you can't even get a high schooler to babysit. They used to do it that way...send the high school kids home first then the elementary so there wouldn't be these problems. My boss will be so thrilled...NOT.
Oh my...all I've done is whine...sorry about that...will bring back some fun later of one sort or another.
NS...still having fun with Bruce?
Theresa...hmmm...I think it's someone elses turn.
I think we need a fantasy wagon for all our girls with fantasy men! I'll work on that...where in the world is Peggy!
Hugs all

Good Morning Circle,
Looks like a beautiful day in our part of the circle, think I should nab a horse from the horse ranch down the road and ride the perimeter. I haven't ridden in many years, it would be nice.
Had a busy day yesterday. I got to Curves (yeah me) and lost a pound at WW weigh-in, and I finally got my prosthesis!! So I went to work last night balanced!lol, and you know what, pens stay in the breast pocket of scrubs better when you have a boob behind the pocket, lol! I'm not worried about wearing it all the time (after all it's been 3 months without it), but I did want it in time for our choir presentation.
DebC, YIKES, lookout Circle she's got it figured. Was that a sculpture of women? Way to go girlfriend.
Nicki, nice song, thanks for sharing.
Cy, your niece is a very mature young lady, and strong. Good for her. A lot of us can learn from that essay.
CherylG, having fun checking the map and watching the people bloom. If anyone made a booboo or wants to add something to the comments box, you can edit by clicking on your person and hitting reset. Then you can redo. And if you zoom twice you can see everyone individually. Very cool. Thanks for setting this up Cheryl.
Amy, prayers with you during your scan.
Laura, hope that phone rings soon with good news.
Hugs and prayers for everyone.

Hey I was up but too lazy to get out of bed and then was running because of it. Tomorrow we'll see....
Deb...kick ass chocolate fountain, how will it work with Vodka??
Cheryl...that's really insightfull and well written.
Amy...good luck on the scan today.
Anyone here go to Vegas?? Christina did you go?
Very sunny here in the am but waiting for the rain to come.
Busy at work so talk later.xoxo0 -
Hey Theresa-
I found a vodka fountain, but this drunk guy is hogging it all. He has his eyes closed though, so I bet you could get past him for a quick nip if you are fast.
Deb C.0 -
It might be safer to go for the champagne fountain...no one is hogging it...

A VODKA FOUNTAIN..PPPFFFTTT. Can you just picture the group of us with a vodka fountain! Oh my...what fun that would be. And I believe that our man at the fountain is just about reached his limit of vodka...a little nudge and he'd be on the floor!
Thanks for the fun Deb.0 -
I agree! vodka man looks like he might be holding onto the table for support! tee hee!
I'm loving the song lyrics - where were the Olivia Newton John ones posted? Except for that workout song, which I can't remember the name of (the one wear she's wearing the leg warmers and doing aerobics), I don't think I'd recognize an ONJ song if I heard one, but I really liked the lyrics. Something about the beauty on the inside, not the outside...
OK, well managed to hit the Nordic Trak again yesterday. Blew off the yogalattes class this morning (and it's only once a week), but my goal is to do another 20 minutes of something today. Cold and dreary here in MA, am more motivated to take a nap then exercise...
Have a great day everyone...0 -
Hey cmb- ONJ really didn't have any huge hits w/ the exception of Grease. I think you are talking about "Let's Get Physical" she also did "I Honestly Love You" She did a whole BC cd, since she's a survivor and there's a couple good ones there.

tgirl, I was in Vegas last weekend. I'll post a pic on the Put a Face to the Name thread. FUN-FUN-FUN!

B9! Fibrocystic changes. I am quite relieved right now! Thanks so much for your thoughtfulness. I really appreciate it. I just wish/hope/pray that everyone else waiting for test results can be as fortunate. Thank you, thank you.

Wooo hooo Laura!!! Congratulations and I will share the champagne fountain with you. What wonderful news...you must be walking 2 feet off the ground right about now!
Hugs
