Felicia, I hate when I can't breathe through my nose.  That only happens when I get a cold.  And then I hate it so much I HAVE to use nasal spray for about three days.  So, although I don't have to suffer with it as often as you do, I can so empathize.

I had a giggle about you hitting yourself during karate.  My oldest dd used to do karate.  My niece went to Japan to compete.  She was really good.   My eight year old niece had a polyp in her nose.  They finally removed it.  That poor little girl has a very big problem she was born with.  When she was about 3 - 4 months old she and her mom flew up here for a visit.  She had had a UTI when she was around 3 weeks old..very unusual.  She was in the hospital.  I noticed when they visited that her diapers weren't that wet.  I thought it was strange knowing how much a kid's diaper can weigh.  Anyway, she got sick.  We too her to a pediatrician here.  She had another UTI.  The pediatrician was aware of her prior UTI.  Then was sick again, plus the poor child couldn't poop.  Her mom had to dig those hard balls out of her.  She was put in the hospital here, x-rayed, etc.  The x-rays showed her bowels full of hard balls.  She was sent to the children's hospital at Carolina.  She had an MRI and some other tests.  The result...she was missing about three very low vertebrae.  This child had could not urinate on her own.  What urine did come out was what her bladder couldn't hold.  The treatment....catherization about every four hours.  It was the most devastating news.  However, she now has learned to cath herself.  Her nurse at school has taught her, and this child is so happy, and was so proud of herself!  How did I get on this subject..oh, polyps in the nose!  There's more to this sweet child's story, but I'll end it there.  SO THAT SUCKS!

Nicki, I don't want to sound dumb, but what's a CXR?  It sounds like a car.  Don'tcha wish!   I know what an x-ray is and an MRI.    Regardless of what the CXR test is, I hope it come out GOOD!  Enough is ENOUGH!   Nicki, I love that dog too!  That's a great "fatigued" dog.  Can't tell if it's a boy or girl.  I don't think I see testicles.  'Course it coulda been neutered!

So, Wish, you're one of those people one cannot wear perfume around, huh?  My LE therapist informed me NOT to wear perfumes because she got headaches.  So, I went stinking!  You're poor hubby..no, you poor you!  Did you have to do without deodorant when you were in chemo?  Or did you wear some kind of unscented stuff?

Sue, "just fatigue?"  That is bad enough.  You need to write a book that's entitled, "Just Fatigue..a Gift From Chemo."

My moan for the day....I HATE MY INSURANCE.  I don't hate the docs SO FAR, but I hate my insurance.  I took me hours to find a provider for a breast prosthesis and LE sleeve and hopefully glove.  The stupid people don't know that most of these companies do not carry mast products.  So, no one here was in the network.  Then, some stupid girl told me since I didn't have Medicare I'd have to pay for my own OUT OF NETWORK!  I told her there's a LAW that they had to provide this stuff (didn't tell her they didn't for sleeves and gloves).  I think the law covers prosthetics.  Anyway, again I was handed over to a coordinator so they could give it to the whomever to get this facility approved.  Then they'll write them and myself to tell me they're approved.  Had to go through this BS with the LE therapist!  I HATE MY INSURANCE!  Thank God I didn't have to fight with them during chemo because they weren't my insurance then.  I know, I know, I should be happy just to have crappy insurance.  I certainly can't afford to go out of network.  I HATE, HATE HATE MY INSURANCE.  I feel so ungrateful.

    Shirley

PS  I don't know how you gals did/do this while in chemo.  It's so damned draining!

Dani, so sorry you have all those kids at home!  LOL  Seriously, I'm sorry you have c. diff.  What is it?  I don't know what it is, but knowing that it's serious really sucks.  And what SUCKS more is not getting your nips!  Like Harley, I'm sure you just want this done and over with!

And, yes you spelled ASSES correctly.  At least that's what spell check said.  However, it correct my word, "correctly."  LOL  I had a typo.  I always make typos.

Hope you feel better.  Taking antibiotics all the time really SUCKS!

Nicki - that is a perfect illustration of dog-ass tired! Ask and ye shall receive, Sue! Hope you get some relief of your fatigue soon.

I have been feeling like that myself some these past three days. I think my anemia has gotten worse. And I probably need to have my thyroid checked. Somehow I'm not overly excited about a blood draw. Bilateral, y'know?

That's awful about your clostridium difficile, Dani.(that's what it is, Shirley - a gram negative anaerobic bacteria = serious) Seems like you have been on antibiotics since forever. Surprised they don't have you on Flagyl for that, but they oughta know!

Shirley - glad you talked back to your insurance. Way to tell them what's what!

Felicia - glad you can still taste chocolate. That would realllly suck to lose that. But you are right - make that ENT appointment.

Sorry I've not been around for so long. I've actually had my neuropathy improve to the point that I've been able to work a few days - and then of course there's the puppy. Does anyone have any extra time with a four month old puppy in the house?!?

    Hope everyone has minimal suckage!

Dani! Good to see you! I was worried. Thought you might have been trapped under something heavy and unable to type out a "HELP!" on your keyboard. Sorry to hear about your bacterial issues (even after Lisa explained it, I still don't know what the heck it means - just that it is serious). Hope you are feeling better soon...

And Lisa! Good to hear from you, too! We've been anxiously awaiting pics of the little puppy. Glad you are feeling well enough to work...

And oh-so-glad my personal "funniest home video" moment (aka whacking myself in the nose) made you giggle, Sue. It probably would have been funnier if you'd have seen it, cause I'm sure it looked rather silly...

Sorry about your insurance suckage, Shirley...

did anyone hear on the news today (even a little blurb in paper) about colorado's dandy new law. a stage IV cancer patient (male) got a letter from his insurance that his expensive chemo was denied for payment but they would gladly pay for hospice, pain management AND physician assisted suicide.  i am not making this up.  according to them you need to have a certain % chance of living longer than 5 years.  i don't think anyone knows about that except God.  at any rate he went balastic and went to the press.  they have now agreed to pay for his chemo.  article also said that wash. state is trying to pass the same type of state health program and is trying to get calif. to follow along.  this is very scary for us stage IVer's.

JM!  OMGOSH!  ARE you serious?  That's going to go a long way to driving many women/men to the brink of ballastic for certain!  OMG!  How can they decide what is what?  OMG!  I can't believe that!  Oh my! :(

{{{{{DANI}}}}} Please know you are in my heart and prayers that you beat this infection and soon! Woman, You must be beside yourself fighting this mess!  Geepers, it's just crazy!  Is this something you picked up at the hospital?  I thought some of those gram pos bacteria were hospital borne or such?  Thinking and praying you are over it soon!

Well, the BITCH/MOAN/GROAN thread has REACHED 100 pages!  Imagine that!  HA!  Just the tip of the iceberg I'm sure!

    Rest well everyone....

wiwhiwere-  They say you can pick this up at the hospital.  Most likely mine is do to the fact that I have been on so many antibiotics and they wiped out my good flora, so the c.dif got stronger kinda drug resistant and took over.  I take probiotics but apparently this is a tough little bug.

It appears in everyone's colon only takes over when there are other issues like to many antibiotics, weak immune system, elderly.  That sort of thing.  Normal people can pick it up have mild illness and then their systems usually beat it.  Mine is having a hard time because I have been on many very strong antibiotics since Nov 07.  A total of 4+ months worth.  That includes the stuff they gave me at all the surgeries.

If I had not gotten the intestinel abscess after hyster surgery this would not be going on right now.  They say that it was caused by the surgery they feel my intestine was bruised during surgery a pool of blood formed and the infection causing the abscess grew. Had surgery with drain placed stayed on Omincef and flagyl for 30 days, 4 days in hospital, and then when I got off meds it took about 1 week and symptoms came back.  Ran stool test and it was positive for c.diff.  Two dr's had two opinions on how to treat it and then decided to do vanco antibiotic, but it is the last drug to offer me now, no other is stronger.  I am worried what happens if this does not clear up, Dr would not answer me directly she said lets wait and see.  Waiting by the way means for months after they get me off these drugs.  It can still come back and she thinks there is a possiblilty that the abscess is not completely gone.

I chose not to do CT scan, I had three in two weeks in June.  Dr said if I have any issues when I get back she is doing the CT.  I leave to the beach for two weeks on Sat 2nd.  Dr was happy that I was staying in VA only two hours from home.

I can not deny that there is occasional pain in my left side, but overall I think I am doing much better.

Please girls stay off antibiotics if you can!  I had no choice in any of my situations, I had staph infection after wide excession, then had possible infection after bi lateral, they stuck me onmeds without even checking my blood.  Then I had stiching left that did not dissovle after implant exchange that started an infection, then hyster and intestine abscess.  So for me I always had to have the darn antibiotics and they give them to you every surgery.  So my BC stuff and cardiac surgery and colonoscopy all had antibiotics!

jerseymaria- that is unbelievable!!!  Noone has the right to tell someone to die, you are a lost cause!  Money is the root of all evil!  I understand the expense of the drugs is outrageous to the insurance company, but the insurance company should work with the drug company to make things more resonable not go after the sick patient!!!

Man you think you have heard it all and then something like this!!!

Have a suck free day ladies,

    Dani

    Hi All,

Dani, so sorry about all your intestinal stuff. That is truly awful! I always ask for plain old penicillan. No strong drugs for me. Unless I need them. Good to hear from you again.

Felicia, I lost my sense of smell 22 years ago. I can still taste pretty good. In fact I am VERY discriminating about the chocolate I eat. No Hershey's. Merci is my drug of choice. So rich and creamy. A girlfriend just turned me on to Nips. Great carmel taste! UTI.....painful...ouch. Hope you got some of those brown pills that help so much. My ice cream is Turtle Tracks and it is getting hard to find. I like peanut butter but not in my ice cream and keep buying Moose track by mistake.

Lisa,  such a cute puppy (spoken in baby talk). I have a female dog who hikes her leg. Her name is Dee Dee for damn dog, dumb dog, darn dog...etc. She is a sweetie though she recently began having mild seizures.

No real sucky stuff today. I had my second to last fill and believe it or not, it is not much pain although the frankenboob side is getting freakier. He said he will release more scar tissue when he puts the implants in so it will sit lower and be normal.

    See ya gals later.

4638968.gif Axel on a hot summer day image by shining_shadows_13

Good Afternoon!  Its so hot out!  Thank goodness for A/C.  Its been a very long day for me and its not quite over.  My husband is entertaining at a golf benefit today.  5 miles from where I work.  Our second car needs repairs so I had to drive him to my SIL and drop him off - then drive to work.  It was so oppressive outside and I just wanted to go home.  But now I am back at my SIL and he wont be home until 8PM.  Then its another 30 miles back to our house - at least he will be driving.  Its not really a bitch - this is just a big old whine!

Mind you, the house is beautiful, the back yard is a forest of beautiful trees, and they have a swimming pool twice the size of mine.  Dont wanna swim.  Dont wanna lay down.  Dont wanna be here.  I am such a big baby!

My insurance company wouldnt approve the MRI of the brain.  So Im back to a CT scan of the brain with and without infusion.  Administrator gave me half the day off tomorrow and at this point I dont care what they do.  I just want to get it done and over with.

Im feeling alot better this week.  My left foot and right ankle dont hurt so bad anymore.  It will be pretty funny that Im finially getting an x-ray of that ankle now that its feeling better.  Im guessing it will show a break that is healing.  Its been 5-6 weeks now since I injured it.  Anyways Shirley a CXR is chest x-ray.  Sorry for using nursing terms lol.  I will be getting that also cause the onc felt something and wants to make sure my implants are ok.  Guess my next visit will be to the PS.  Dont ya just hate all these doctors and tests?

Diane:  I would agree that one of the biggest IOS's were those people attacking the boards.  I didnt have much time when I got home last night and when I came on bco my mouth just dropped as I couldnt believe what I was seeing.  Also felt a little helpless.  I was glad to see it was fixed.

Bonnie:  Chocolate cake?  Yummy.  Im trying to diet, but after the day I have had I am making my husband stop at the Italian Bakery near my house and Im gonna get a chocolate Canoli!  Sucks that your getting chemo again though.  Drink and pee - thats what everyone told me when I was a newbie and I do believe it helped.  How I dont know lol.

Wish:  I was thinking it was a bot or young kids who were just bored.  Do you think it was someone angry with bco?  No matter who it was, it was terrible.

Sheila:  Heck, not only girl dogs, but what about us - camping!  I think that is one of the reasons I dont like to camp.  Gotta have a bathroom.  Dont want any bugs or mosquitos biting my butt.  Men have it so darn easy.  Even swimming, geesh they can just go around a tree and pee all they want.  We have to run into the house, with a wet bathing suit.  Not fair I say.  Just not fair.

Sue:   Hahahaha Im glad you like that picture.  It did seem appropriate to what you were looking for.  Poor doggy and you sure must be tired.  Hope today is a better one for you.  Sucks though - being dog ass tired.  Been there, done that, and dont want to do it anymore!

Bonnie:  Cool.  You got a new puppy and Im so jealous.  I love puppies and kittens.  Although if I brought another animal home my husband would be too happy.  You must take some pictures and show us.  So what kind of puppy is it?

Dani:  OMG!  Sounds like you have C-diff colitis.  I see it all the time with patients that I go evaluate at the hospitals who are coming for rehab.  Its awfu!  Hoping that vanco does the trick.  Sometimes they will combine flagyl with vanco.  I would say thats a pretty big IOC!  Your poor body just hasnt had time to recover.

JMaria:  OK - Im pretty sick of insurance companies, but this draws the line!  No one can predict how a person's cancer will respond to chemo.  I know many stage 4 women who are doing fine 5+ years out of treatment.  What if they didnt get their chemo.  This sucks and I think we all should write our congressman/woman to protest.  Im fighting mad and stomping my sore foot!

Lisa:  Dinah is adorable!  Dont they just look so sweet in pictures?  My "mister" is the same way.  Looks cute, but you better watch out!  He is never dog ass tired lol.

Hanna:  Hahaha pass that hot fudge over here.  I promise, I will share my chocolate canoli.

Felicia:  My goodness, Im reading backwards today.  Most recent post back.  Please tell me you didnt whack your nose. The one with the polyps?  OMG! For one small second I laughed out loud and then thought now that is a big IOS!

Lisa:  You have been gone.  Ive been waiting to tell you how good you looked in the pictures that Socal posted at your luncheon.  Love your hair.  Whats up with all this fatigue and anemia.  I swear - I would like to punch chemo in its nose!  Same here with blood draws.  Bilateral also, but I let them use my good arm.  Only had one lymph node removed and the thought of drawing blood from my foot makes me nauseous. We nurses are not very good patients.  Ask anyone of my doctors.  They will all nod in agreement.  Good thing is, I usually get what I want.

Shirley:  Shoot, I spell things wrong all the type and make typos all the time.  Sometimes Im just happy to be able to get here and post and dont proof read anything.  I figure my friends here will accept me for who I am!  I supposed there are hags out there that who would be happy to point out my poor spelling though.

Hunky:  Glad you got a good laugh from that picture.  I sure did when I found it.  Thats what life is all about.  Bitch all we want, throw in some laughter, sprinkle friendship along the way.  Thats why I love this thread.

And who was looking for the dogs testicles?  Hahahahaha I laughed so hard at that one.  I even went back to the picture to look.

So we have reached page 100 - can you believe it.  I must say that I check all over bco and post at various places, but this is my favorite place to come.  I feel like I have gotten to know so many of you - a friendship, a bond - that will be forever in my heart.

Now that I have had time to actually write a whole post, I guess Im not so upset anymore.  Think I will go take a dip in that pool.  Lord knows I could use the exercise.

    HAPPY PAGE 100 EVERYONE!

JerseyM., I beleive the state was Oregon, not Colorado.  I saw this on Fox yesterday.  I thought I posted it.  I may have on the "I Can't Get My Act Together" thread.  I am glad to hear by going to the press that they are giving him chemo!  They passed a Bill sometime back for assissted suicide.  I forgot the name of the Bill.  That's what this world is coming to...yep...if you don't want the sick or the old or babies, just get rid of them.  I'm not rying to make this political, but that's how I feel.  Oh, perhaps I posted it in the political thread.  Made me sick!
