Marie good to hear from you. I have not been very good about coming out and checking how everyone is doing. But I am trying to be better. I go the the Onc in two weeks and will go have my blood work done and my bone density next week. I had my mammo a couple of weeks ago and everything is OK there. I am hoping that since I have lost weight, do Zumba at least two times a week and try to get 10,000 steps in a day, that my bones will have improved or at least not be any worse. I hope everything comes out fine on your Onc visit.
So glad today is Thursday, I need a restful weekend. I am about over the cold I have had all week, and I am feeling so much better. DH and I may have a date day on Saturday and celebrate our 39 anniversary. Just doesn't seem possible.

Juanelle we need an updated avatar pic of you since you have lost wt. and I'm sure your hair has grown. By the way Happy anniversary to you and your hubby early... 39 yrs is a long happy marriage. May you have that many more!

Hey everyone! Juanelle, so, so sorry to hear about the emotional roller coaster you are on with your daughter. Proceed slowly so as not to get hurt again, but I know you will want to be there for her too! ((Juanelle)) Also, Happy Anniversary!
I have been using the loseit.com website for helping me lose weight - it works great and keeps me motivated on the excercise (you can excercise the calories off and then can eat more!!). I had lost over 25 pounds last year until I became a caregiver for my Dad and didn't find the time to even log on anymore! I have once again started up and am excercising almost daily again - am hoping to see really good results come summertime!!

Juanelle happy Anniversary. Such an accomplishment these days.

Renee, I will try to get fixed up and take a new picture. I took some not too long ago, but was not satisfied, I will try it again. I am not happy with my hair at this point. I am trying to let it grow, but I think I really look better with it a little shorter.
Renee, Mary and Michele thanks, you know there is one thing I have found out over the last 39 years, marriage is hard work. I have a great husband, but it is not always easy to put up with someone for all those years. I know one thing, I have not always been the easiest thing to get along with either, so it goes both ways.
Hope everyone has a great relaxing weekend. I plan on it.

Juanelle you I totally agree with you on marriage being hard work! This Sept. my husband and I will be married 24yrs and there have been times I wanted to kick him to the curb (lol) but other times he is so sweet and supportive and I couldn't ask for anyone any better. It definitely is not the fairytale that young people think that it is. You have to work at it together and give and take. Another thing I have learned is to never go to bed angry always talk it out and work it out before you go to bed. And there are some things you just have to accept about each other that are what they are. You married them the way they were and you can't expect to change them. A lot of people have that misconception and end up divorced.
Hope everyone else is has a great week. I have an interview on Thurs for a job. Please keep me in your prayers I really need this job. I've also got an earache and I've got to go to the dr. today.

Hi everyone! I was diagnosed early December 2009. I am still here and all is well (I hope!). I just had a left side mammogram in December. I also then had another annual follow-up with my breast surgeon two weeks ago and she didn't feel anything. One thing that worries me is the ALH found in my partial mastecomy, has it grown? Then there's the pain I always have in my R breast, what is that? CRAZY Thinking, I am always wondering if it's come back. I am going through a very stressful time right now, left my husband of 18 years a month ago for reasons I can't state here - but to say the least he needs some therapy! I just couldn't take it ANY more. I finally found the courage to get myself and our 9 yo son out of there. I"m losing weight and my family is concerned I am sick again - but I'm not sick-sick, just that my heart is broken that I had to do this. On the other hand, it's the best thing I could have done for the both of us - just hurts ya know? Anyhow, I"m glad to be here yet and glad to see everyone continue to post. I have another follow-up with bloodwork and bilateral mammo so hoing for another good one. I will be 43 this year - YIKES! Have a great day all!

Hell Sandra. Stay strong, for you and your son. I hope all your test turn out ok. We are all here for you, remember that.

Sandra I agree stay strong for you and your son and do what you need to do it will all work out in the end. It's hard to start over but sometimes it's much harder to stay especially in a marriage that will only cause you and your children more pain in the end. Good luck in all you do and come here when you need to to vent or for support.

Sandra, I am glad you had the courage to leave him if that is what is best for your and your son. I am sorry your heart is broken, but time will heal you like everything else. Hope all the test come back Ok and then you would have one less worry.
Renee, I like the picture you posted today, I think it would be a very becoming hair cut for you. I wish my hair would do that. I am really struggling with mine right now. Nothing new, I just want it to be different. Good luck on the job interview. I know you want to get back to work. I don't know what I would do if I didn't work. My house would certainly be cleaner.
Hello Michele, hope all is well with you.

Juanelle thanks for the support. You are so right I miss working more than I ever imagined I could. I miss seeing my little resident's every day and talking to them and making sure that they are taken care of. That has been what my life has been about for so many years, almost 30 now. I don't know anything else. I definitely love my grandchildren, but I did my time as a mom and I am truly a workaholic. I never really classified myself that way until I no longer had a job and I realized I really am. I am not a housewife! I hate cleaning the house and doing the dishes and laundry. I will say my house has been probably less clean since I have been off work keeping my granddaughter than it was when I was working fulltime. When I worked fulltime she wasn't here all day everyday and now she is, so she keeps my home destroyed and I cook more than I ever did so there are more dirty dishes to do. I also am not an outdoors person that likes to work in the yard besides it has been far too rainy to do any planting here. Muddy would be the word to describe everyones yards.
Please just say a prayer for me on Thursday about 10 a.m. that my interview goes well and I find the answers in me that they need to hear to hire me. The Lord knows I need this job and I want to return to the work force.
Thanks ladies
Renee

Positive thoughts heading your way, Renee!

Sandra - wishing you continued courage, strength and healing!
Renee - will offer a prayer and will be thinking about you on Thursday for your interview. Good Luck!

Renee, I will for sure say a prayer for you...I know what you mean about work, I was a stay at home mom for so many years, but now it drives me nuts to be at home. My house is not any cleaner for sure. At least with me at work there is nobody to mess it up.

Hi Class of 2009!
I hadn't seen this topic before (duh), I was first dx'd with mets on September 11, 2009 and it has been quite the adventure!
Basically, just wanted to introduce myself as a member of the Class of 2009 - so Hi ya'll, I am Sharon aka LowRider and was dx'd with mets to the spine which I was declared stable in April of 2011. In August of 2011, I had an attack and microburst of rougue cells in my abdominal wall - still maintaining no organ involvement but it really hit hard in the surrounding abdominal cavity - good news however, Monday's appointment had my tumor markers continuing to drop and most importantly, my hemoglobin counts are up to 11.9 - this is the most significant indicator for me as I have had 2 transfusions and Arenesp each treatment to keep this count up - it was in the 7's and then 8's and finally, instead of dropping with treatment, it was up from 10.8 to 11.9 - a great indicator that the treatment is knocking it back - woo-hoo! It was the best news I have had since August.
I wish everyone healthy and healing thoughts...
Many BIG hugs
LowRider

HI girls !
Juanelle ~ Happy Belated Anniversary !
Michele ~ how are the new girls?
Sandra ~ so sorry to hear about you leaving your husband, STAY strong !
Renee ~ love the new hair ! Hope your job interview went well.
All good here, had a scare they thought I had bone mets to my spine as a compound fracture came up on an mri. I had all kinds of tests done and just have a really bad back. Herniated disks and stuff. Also bone density test shows osteopenia. So I am taking more calcium and vitamin d.
Trying to diet, eat my green and exercise!
Mary Louise ~ thanks for the loseit website tip. Will check it out.
HI SHELBY!

Alicia I'm glad your tests came back "good" shall we say LOL! Thankful it wasn't mets. I was worried about you. Take care of yourself
Thanks for the the compliment on the hair. The job interview did go well and I am being called back for a second one next week. Need prayers as there are several of us in the running for the job. I have a lot of experience in this field and have done this job before. I just really need them to take a chance on me and believe that I am the best person for the job. I know I am... I need to make them believe it as well.
Ladies please keep all of us in Alabama in your prayers today, also TN and Kentucky. We are being hard hit with severe storms causing torandoes. Everyone needs to stay safe there has already been much damage

I saw the devastation on the news Renee. Hoping and praying you and your family stay safe and out of harms way. Our weather truly is frightening lately. The warmer temperatures are brewing up very dangerous storms it seems.
Be good ALL !

I'm praying for everyone... God Speed!

Alicia, so good to hear from you. Sorry to hear you had a scare, but am glad it wasn't as serious as it could have been.
Welcome Sharon, sounds like you have had a time of it. BC is the gift that keeps on giving, it seems.
Renee, just read on FB that you didn't get the job, I am so sorry. I know you are ready to get back into the workforce. Maybe the next one will be bigger better.
Hello, Michele, Shelby, Mary Louise and EPH3_12 hope you are having a great week.
I am getting ready to go on vacation next week, so I will be away. We are going away with our kids for the week. Should be fun, a week with my kids and grandkids is always a blessing.
Hugs,
Juannelle

AMP47, I havn't heard of this movie, now i want to see it.

Renee, keep the faith - the right job will come along. I know it sounds cliche, and it's hard to stay positive after the disappointment, but it will happen for you. Good luck as you continue your search!
Alicia - so glad that the tests were not an indication of mets. Not that herniated discs are any fun, but you know what I mean.
Michele, how is recovery going? Are you feeling back to normal yet? Are you happy with the results?
AMP47, someone sent me a link to that video trailer several weeks ago, and I really hope it makes it down here to the States! It looks like a great movie!
Juanelle, hope you're enjoying your vacation. I've spent this week down here at the beach in Port Aransas, and I'm dreading Sunday when I have to go back home! Even with the crazy college spring breakers, it's been wonderfully relaxing and refreshing. The beautiful wildflowers on the drive down here were a bonus. Any wildflowers in your neck of the woods?
Big hugs to all!

Shelby, we do have wildflowers up here. We own about 8 acres and it is just covered, I will take some pictures and post them. Our vacation was great. We went to my brother's house on the Devils River. It is so beautiful there and very peaceful, we didn't have cell service there, then we went to Fredericksburg and spent the night. We went to Luckenbach and had a snack dinner and enjoyed the music for several hours. It was just so relaxing, not all vacations are that way. Hope you get home safely.
Worked in the yard today and pulled lots of weeds. Tomorrow I will try to work in the yard again and finish up some stuff. Spring is definitely here and it could be summer in a week or two, you never know around here. We only have two seasons, summer and winter.
Hope everyone has a fantastic weekend.
Hugs

Juanelle glad your vacation was good! I am wondering how your daughter is? Haven't asked in a while.
Thanks for all the words of encoruagement everyone! I will keep looking for a job it is just really hard right now because honestly here in the small area of Alabama I live in there simply seems to be no jobs. Praying for God to send me the perfect job soon!
