Thanks Alicia, just felt like sharing.  I think now as we move on, we still have to face the reality and so glad there is someone out there who understands.

I have had a great weekend, field trip was a success, and a relaxing Saturday.  I got it in gear today and spent the day cleaning the house.  We are having a new AC unit installed and there was dust and dirt everywhere.  The garage was a mess, so that is where I started and just went like a whirlwind through the rest.  Sometimes you just have to stop and get it cleaned up.  The funny thing is that I have a lady come in once a week, but she doesn't hit every room, so I still have to do some cleaning ever so often.

Hope all had a relaxing and restful weekend.

Juannelle, you put that so beautifully, and you're right on the money.  Others in our lives love us and want the best for us - but only we truly understand each other.

I'm sitting here with a knot in my stomach as I await results of x-rays I had this morning on my back and shoulder.  My doc said he'd call tomorrow.  So, you know what I'll be doing until I get the call...worry, worry, worry.  I was a mess this afternoon, and got pretty much NOTHING accomplished with my class.  Hopefully, tomorrow I can distract myself enough so I can make some progress during the day.

OK, I've released my stress for today - well, at least for now.  Thanks for listening...

    Much love to you all!

    Shelby,

Did something change that you are having some x-rays now instead of waiting for the scans in June? I hope you are notin greater pain. I always wonder why x-rays are not used more since they are less radiation than CTs or PET scans and seem to be very accurate. Will your doctor give you the results over the phone? I don't get the "have to come in to the office" some doctors want. I would SO much rather get news, especially if it is not good, in thE privacy of my own home. Oh, but you will be at school! Is it possible to take the call in privacy?

Well, from Canada to Florida to Texas, and all points in between, we are Holding our breath for you. And when we get the good news there will be such a huge group sigh of relief that you will feel it in San Antonio! Seriously, hugs and prayers for you.

Juanelle, you surely do speak for all of us. One of my favorite cartoons was of Hagar the Horrible. His son was doing his homework and said to Hagar,"Dad, what do you call someone who always thinks the worst thing is going to happen?" And Hagar responds "a realist."

Breast cancer robs us of our innocence, our blissful optimism. We are not pessimists, we are realists. It's not that we believe the worst is going to happen, but now we know it might! It can. It weighs heavy on our hearts and minds. I hope tomorrow we are all celebrating the news of a benign and happy result for our dear Shelby and a triumph for optimism.

    Hugs.

Shelby, Pam is right, we are all waiting on your results and wishing for the best.

Pam, yes I think we are all realists now.  You are so correct when you said BC robs us of our innocence and our blissful optimism.  I have always been so healthy and I am still healthy, except that I did have breast cancer.  That is hard for some to understand, but it is true.

    Hugs,

Thanks for all of the support, everyone.  OF COURSE, I did NOT get the call yesterday.  I called on my lunch hour to check on things, and they hadn't yet received the report.  The onc's nurse did call me back towards the end of the day to let me know she hadn't forgotten about me, but that she had not yet heard back from my onc about results, but that she would call me today.  AAAACCKKK.  Even though I'm pretty sure it's nothing - or at least not mets (it's something, but what?) - I want to hear those words from the doc.  Soon.

Thanks for being there for me while I wait - it means so much!  I can feel the love - and I'm sending it right back at ya!

Well well well hi lovely ladies ,yes it's been a while since I've been on , I hope you all r well ,haven't yet caught up on things but I will get around to it.I have been busy with things on the home front ,we became guardian of our grand daughter for 6 month , that was hard but it was either us or Forster carers but now she has returned to her mum and things seem to have improved ,then just after all that a routine mamo and ultra sound picked up another lump in my other breast so as u know the waiting for biopsy testswas stressful and the thought of that nightmare returning is sickening ,but all was good, now on 6 months mamos .ive had the usuall ups and downs but mostly good ups ,still only working one or two days a week doing hairdressing my energy levels still haven't returned maybe its an age thing 48 this year and yes still princess jojo , I'm looking forward to catching up with all of u and all the goss

Princess JoJo!!!!  Seeing your name put a big smile on my face, right when I needed it!  You certainly have been busy.  We've missed you so much here!  Glad to see you.

Well, results are in....kind of.  When I got to my lunch break, saw that I had a voicemail from the doc's office.  When I heard the doc himself leaving the message, my stomach knotted up a little bit.  He said "I called to discuss your test results.  Please call back."  So, we got in touch.  He said the xray of the back was fine - no problems there.  But he said the radiologist had concerns over what he saw in the shoulder xray.  I can't remember the exact word he used - maybe "anomaly" or "inconsistency"?  So, he wants an MRI now, before the end of the week.  Not knowing is soooooo nervewracking.  And now I'm really worried.  I really didn't expect to hear that - even though I was nervous, I fully expected him to say that all was fine, just like every other time I've had an ache or pain.  So, I guess it's back to stressville.

Thanks for being here for me to voice my concerns.  And now, I'm thinking a glass of wine is in order... (screw the diet!!)

Shelby - thinking of you and praying all is fine with the shoulder.

Hello, just popping in to see how everyone's doing.

    pj12 Member Posts: 18,108

Shelby, maybe this is a two glass night! I do hope they are just being overly cautious. Radiologists are great ones to look for every little artifact and suspect it is something bad. It's good they are taking this seriously though and I hope it is all a false alarm. Let's hope by the end of the week you are "certifiably" cancer free.

Doesn't Princess Jo Jo have a magic wand? She logged in just in time to bring a little Aussie magic to the situation. Sounds like you have had your own scare, Jo Jo, and having your grandbaby for six months explains why you have not had time to check in here.

Juanelle, if you are finished at your house you can come and supervise some cleaning here. The weather has been so great that all I want to do is work in the yard. I take my exercise walk first thing (three miles) then come home and work in the yard for two or three hours and I am done. There is just no energy left for dusting or vacuuming or mopping. DH has even suggested hiring "help" which makes me feel really guilty. All those years when I worked full time and had children at home I was able to keep house. Now it is just the two of us and I can't handle it!!!

I am off to fold some laundry. That always makes me feel like I am doing something.

Shelby, you are in our prayers.

Princess Jojo, so so so glad to see you back.  I think about you often...Sounds like life has been busy.

Shelby, take a deep breath and try  not to stress to much.  I know, not as easy as it sounds..

I have my mammo tomorrow, talking of nervous.  Starting to get there.  I hope it isn't ot painful since I had recon...I'll keep ya posted.

Good luck tomorrow, Michele. And hoping the mammo is not too uncomfortable. Will you get to see the radiologist tomorrow? Hope so. We can't have everyone on pins and needles here. :)

I guess it is that time of year, when we are either going through or have just been through all our tests.

princess jojo, it is so good to hear from you.  Sounds like you have really been busy.  Glad all your test were negative.  Maybe life  will settle down now and you can relax and enjoy.

Michele, good luck tomorrow and hopefully they wont hurt you too bad.

Shelby, it is always hurry and wait, hurry and wait.  I hope you get the MRI this week, so you can get the good results and go onto something else.  (Like summer)

Sugar, how are things with you?  It is good to hear from you also.

Pam, I don't clean very often, someone else does it, but I am like you, I raised my kids and could find time for anything and everything, but now my days off are full and I don't know how I ever managed.  If I lived close to you, I would come over and help you get organized.

It is good to catch up with all - I don't get on here so often these days.

Princess Jo Jo!!!  wonderful to see you again after a while :):):)   Glad that magic wand has been kept in good working order, and I am very happy to hear that things are good with you too.

I have just had my 6 monthly checks and all is fine.  Though the onc was not happy about my port and it was whipped out the following day!  At last!!!  So now I am happily de-ported andstill in NED's company.  Otherwise things are incredibly busy here in Myanmar (lots of change....)

Sending sunshine to you all from very hot and sticky Yangon.

Offered as a word of encouragement, Shelby:

I had a CAT scan and the radiologist "found" a lyric lesion on my shoulder-scapula somewhere. Scared the beejeebies out of me cause just about the only thing that can be is cancer, according to Dr. Google. Anyway, lots more tests and turned out it was a healed break. Obviously not a big one as it had gone untreated but I had hit that shoulder hard when I fell six months prior. So just a false alarm that had me going for about a week.

Thanks everyone for the good vibes - I need all I can get!

Oh, the magic wand and its magical powers - thanks, Jojo!  And if you want to start your own business, don't let BC stop you.  I totally get the worries and the fear, but it might be just the thing for you!  Are you thinking of a hairdressing business?  I would be first in line to be a client (if I lived in Australia, that is).

Michele, I'm sending all positive thoughts up North for no pain with the mammo!  I'm assuming you had DIEP only on one side?  One reason I went with bilateral DIEP was to eliminate the need for yearly mammos.

Philippa, it's great to see you here, and it's more than great that you're still hanging out with NED.

Pam, what kind of other tests did you have to go through to determine the problem with your shoulder?  I only wish that I had an injury that would explain things.  I'm so glad it all turned out well for you!

I finally heard back from the onc's office - the MRI is scheduled for today at 1 p.m.  I'm hoping against hope that results might possibly be ready before the weekend, but I have a feeling they won't be.  Tomorrow (Friday) is a city holiday - the Battle of Flowers parade, part of the Fiesta celebration here, usually means many places of business are closed - I don't know if that includes the imaging center or not, but I really, really, really hope they aren't closed and that they read the MRI!  I don't know if I can take a whole weekend of waiting.  I'm a mess inside, and it's nearly impossible to hold it all in so I don't worry my girls or my students.  UGH UGH UGH.

    Shelby,

My iPad thinks it is smarter than me and corrects words when it should not! It was a lytic lesion, not a lyric lesion!

Anyway, I had a PET scan and two sets of old fashioned x-rays which turned out to be the final word, the x-ray I mean.

At least I hope it was the final word. We breast cancer girls know there is no final word unfortunately.

Holding my breath for good news.

Princess JOjo you are back ~ so nice to hear from you.  Glad to see you here and doing well.

Shelby ~ I am sending up prayers, and I have a good feeling.  I had a ct scan of my lungs and they found a compression fracture on my spine.  THEY thought bone mets.  IT IS just a fracture and I have some osteoporosis starting.  Try not to worry till you have to worry, but I know that is ever so difficult at times like this.  Hoping you get info tomorrow that you are perfect but have a sore shoulder.

Michele ~ good luck at your mammo, praying you get an all clear too !

Glad to see everyone popping in.

    HUGS !

Mammo was good.  She didn't squish me to much...Almost had to reschedule.  Two of the machines stopped working, but as I was leaving to reschedule they got one working...so I don't have to go back for a whole year...wo hooo.

Shelby, AAAAAHHHHHH... that is me screaming for you.  It makes me feel better.

So glad that is past for you, Michele. It sure does not instill confidence in the equipment when it does not work! Are you now on a 12 month mammo schedule?

Alicia, now we have two similar false alarm stories for Shelby! Must happen all the time. I am sure the doctors do not know how it scares us.

Philippa,, I am just learning how long ports get left in. What a relief it must be to have it removed. is Yangon a big city, small town? Are you from elsewhere or a native?

Jojo, hope you're enjoying that TV!  Can't wait to see the new pic.

I hope I can continue the trend of false alarms.  Unfortunately, I won't know until next week.  My doc's office is closed today, just like I was afraid of.  I'm trying to stay busy to minimize the worry time.  We'l see how I do with all of that.

Hope everyone has a great weekend.

Wow, JoJo, a 60" screen TV! Do you feel like you are practically in the scene? Sports events must be fabulous. Enjoy!
