Hi ladies
I've been thinking of you today Shelby thinking that you'll be getting your results today but tonight I've realized that I'm a day ahead it's Monday here in Australia
Hope everyone is having a nice weekend
My body has been aching now for a few weeks mainly my legs and arms and a sore hip only when I move it in certain ways do you think that we can get a build up of tamoxifen and your body aches and pains get worse what do you think, also I've been supper tired like I've taking a sleeping pill tired and I've also gone of coffee, I don't want to run to the dr like always and have the tests and all that and they find nothing and I come away feeling like a hypochondriac so I've just been asking advice on the posts
Princess jojo0 -
So sorry you are feeling bad, JoJo. If you think about what is going on in your life can you find any ordinary explanation for the aches and pains? A new flight of stairs you have to climb, more work in the yard, a heavier grandchild who still likes to be picked up? Cutting out coffee could sure explain feeling tired. I was never a coffee drinker but I really miss the boost coca cola used to give me. Nothing takes the place of a good caffeine kick.
When I was taking anastrazole I had tons of aching joints and they moved around constantly. One would get better only for pain to pop up in a new spot. But I have been on tamoxifen for a year and a half and have tolerated it much better. But I am older than you so my body is probably not going to complain about lower estrogen levels like yours would. Do you get any relief if you take something like ibuprofen? I did find that helped a lot with my own hormone deprivation aches. And my guess is that if the pain was from something more sinister OTC pain meds would not help much.
But... Why not check in with your doctor? They have to be accustomed to us nervous nellies. and we have good reason to be anxious! Besides, it must be a pleasure to be able to tell a patient that everything is okay once in a while.
Thinking of Shelby and wishing good things for her.0 -

Hey thanks for your imput I carnt think of anything extr I've done to make it worse my body feels more like a bad flue ache mainly in my legs and arms and the coffe I've gone right of it used to love my coffee now I feel like there to strong for me it's been a few weeks now I will ring my coo and try and see him this week
Princess jojo0 -
Good news!! Despite the suspicions from the plain X-ray, the MRI did not show any mets. Whew! I was so incredibly nervous. The only problem is, even though we know what it ISN'T, we don't know what it IS. The pain is still hanging around. So, pain meds will have to suffice for now. Thank goodness for Norco!
Jojo, I totally understand not wanting to seem like an overly anxious hypochondriac - even more so now that this new issue has turned out to basically be nothing. But I agree with Pam - it's much better to have things checked out.
Thanks to everyone who supported me through my fears. I could NOT have done it without you!

WOOHOO Shelby I'm just rapped about your out come well done girly
Yeh I'll take my complaints list to dear onco I'll make the app tomorrow today though I'm feeling really good hope everyone is well and HAPPY BIG KISSES TO U ALL
Princess jojo0 -
Shelby, you might find that the aches slowly go away now. I find that when I have things like that happen to me I tend to make them worse with all my stressing. Then I find the pains go away when the stress does. It's amazing what you can ignore when you want to...

Hi everyone, I haven't posted in awhile so probably no one remembers me. Oh well. thanks for all the bone pain stuff. I have been on Arimidex for almost 3 years and lately I have this dull pain in my lower back that will shoot around to my hip and down my leg. Of course it has to be mets I mean what else could it be. I've had if for several weeks but doesn't wake me up or hurt when I walk. Could it be from recent weight gain, thanks to my thyroid issue or that I sleep on that side quite often.
Just when I think I'm over all of it and feeling ok about my suviorship, this happens and I'm thrown back into the paranoid pot all over again!
Thanks for listening.

Hooray, Shelby! As foolish as we feel after such a scare, it is SO good to KNOW there is nothing bad going on. I guess it is all relative. Bad, to us means cancer. We can handle pinched nerves, collapsing vertebra, arthritis, migraine headaches, bone spurs, hairline fractures, carpel tunnel syndrome, irritable bowel disease, acid reflux, you name it... Shoot, if I am accosted in as dark parking garage on a rainy night by a thug in a ninja outfit, I can confidently say,"you don't scare me. I have had breast cancer."
Tina, the way you describe your hip-leg pain it sounds like sciatica. Of course, I am not a doctor but you can't hang around with a bunch of 65 year old contemporaries without hearing about it frequently. Very painful and literally a "pain in the a$$". Maybe you could ask Dr. Google or your PCP. Wishing you some relief from the pain and the worry.0 -
great news. So happy for you! It sure puts us on pens and needles while we wait for those answers. Just say...been there and understand.

Shelby - whew! So glad to hear your good news0

Shelby ~ great news !!! Hope your pain goes away. If not get a cortisone injection that can work miracles ~
Hugs to all !

Shelby that is indeed great news! Glad to hear this.
Thanks for the support P, it very well may be, who know what goes on. I'm so tired of thinking Side Effect, Real or not real. Have an Onc check in 2 weeks, find out then.
thanks again,
Tina

Keep us in the loop, Tina. We LOVE good news!

Shelby, great news, I know you want to know what the pain is, but I also know it is a relief to know it isn't mets. I think I would worry more if I was younger, but when you are my age it is hard to tell the difference between pain that the meds cause, old age, or other pain, so I generally just go on. I have been going to the doctor for my knees and am doing much better, and this is old age.
Tina, sorry you are having pain in your leg. There are so many things it could be and then again maybe you just moved wrong and caught a nerve. Have it checked out and you will feel better just knowing.
jojo, I have been having pains in my legs and hips also. I know what mine is and I take Aleve and it goes a long way for me. Hope you feel better soon.
I think we are tuned in to our bodies more now and there is always that slight chance that it could be recurrence and that is us being real. The thoughts are just never far way.

Hi ladies
Things r good still very aches and sore but WHATEVER ! I'm not going to let it rule my mind any more and rip me of, our days are way to precious to be stuck in depression and worry about what ifs I figure if I'm going to get mets I'm going to get it no matter how many tests I have or drs I see ,nothing will help keep it away so I'm going to stop worrying and swim with the current and not against it .wow go me. I'll see how long my new attitude last for lol
Princessjojo0 -
Jojo, I missed you...you crack me up.

a good plan, JoJo. Worrying does not help any of us. We do what we can, what we should, and let the chips fall where they will!
Of course it never hurts to ask for good thoughts from our BC sisters when the anxiety creeps back in.
Edited to add: Juanelle, love your cool new sunglasses!

Yea, the weekend is here. I went to field day with my grandson today, then he got to leave early and he is playing wipe-out on the Wii. He is just so much fun. My son may come today and of course that means my granddaughter will be with him. She is lots of fun also. She just turned 3 and they got her a little car for her birthday. She loves to drive it, but really likes to back up. Isn't that funny. She looks and acts so grown up, then she does a 3 year old thing.
jojo, you have the right attitude now. But you know when you need to vent we are here for you and are always willing to listen and offer encouragement or advice.
Pam, thanks I really like my glasses, since I have to wear them.
Hope everyone has a restful weekend. I am going to wish my life away for weekends, isn't that sad. Maybe it wont be that way when I retire.

Hi there ladies were did it go !!!!!!!!!

Well I lost it on my family this morning, before I whent to bed I had cleaned the kitchen it was spotless !
And when I woke up and seen it trashed AND my son refused to fry up more bacon for dh befor he whent out to work FOR the food that my darling son eats so much of .
Oh dear ! I whent of my rocker ! Im amazed you all didnt hear me yelling ,i had to leave the house before I picked up something very sharp ,and spend some time down the beach to cool of and get things into perspective i,it was hard , but after an hour I finally got there , so I whent home and guess what the house was spotless and for the rest of the day the kids were on there best behaviour my son who I had a run in with even gave me some flowers ahhhh , my dh rings me through out the day asking me if I'm ok we had a chat then seen the funny side of it all, he said I even scared him Iol , I must of turned green as well for him to be scared he is a big Samoan ex. Sas man he said he even ran up stairs and cleand up our room while I was down the beach
See we have to do theses things ladies every now and then to keep the family in line hehehe!
Enjoy your week end and try and stay away from the sharp things in the kitchen lol

Me again I've seemed to have done something , I carnt see anyone's avatars any more does any one know what I can do to get it back ?
0 -
jojo, can't help you with the avatar. All your huffing and puffing this morning reached me here in Canada. It has been cloudy as heck here and now the clouds have blown away...must have been with your help.
0 -
Woohoo well in that case I think the whole world is cloud less
Enjoy the sunshine Michelle0 -
Maybe some of us with family "issues" could borrow your magic wand, JoJo. I have some people around here who could shape up
0 -
Could I use it to clean my house so I don't have to spend my whole freaking weekend cleaning up after my family...Would love to go back to work rested for once.
0 -
Oh I'm hearing you all my wand doesn't fix theses matters unfortunately or my house hold would be perfect ,my sons got a hernia at the moment and is dying ! Oh please lord give me strength ! The only thing to get through to the family is TOUGH LOVE crack the wips women
Princess jojo0 -
My neighbor's husband just had a hernia repair, laproscopic procedure, rapid in and out. She is about to shoot him. He is complaining about eveyrthing! Men do not make good patients, even young men. Can you imagine if they menstruated and endured pregnancies? But they are usually pretty stoic if they cut a finger off with a power saw. Go figure?

Hi there all how's things been, next week appointment with onco and I want to have a bone scan done ,the last one I had was when I was first dx back in 09 and this hip pain it's getting worse ,and about 2-3 mths ago I had a ct scan on it and nothing come up ?
How accurate are they .?
And will a bone scan do better I just have a gut feeling its a bit sinister than the tamoxifen se's
Princess jojo. Oh an up date on the shitty kids from last week end ,well theve been soo good lately0 -
Whether you're a mother or a daughter, a sister or a niece... Wishing us all a happy Mother's Day.

Happy Mother's Day to everyone. What a new look we have here, I am not sure I like it, but guess I will get use to it. I am not one on change at this point in my life. Like to keep it all simple.
Have had a great day, my DIL fixed a really nice lunch for all the mothers and the weahter was so nice, we could sit outside and enjoy everyone. My other son and his family was here and it was a surprise, sometimes that is not good, I didn't get my usual stuff at the grocery store, but we made it through.
Hope everyone has a good week.
