As usual, the man in the group is way behind and foolishly lost. Upon reading Paulding's B9 post, I was initally thinking, "Why is everybody so excited about vitamins? Can only certain people take B9s?" Everybody was so happy, that I became happy, but I was still confused about all the fuss over vitamins. Then I actually Googled it. Yes I Googled B9 and came up with....more vitamins. So then I Googled B9 and BC together. Still lost. So I said it a couple of times trying to make sense. Nothing. But then a Google link led me to a link on BC.org and found someone asking about having a B9 tumor on their leg bone. And I thought, "Oh, that does not sound good. A tumor with a letter and a number must be really really bad." But then a voice in my head said, "Excuse me, Dumbass. May I call you Dumbass? B9. Be nine. Be Nine. Benign. BENIGN!!!!"
Congratulations Paulding ten days later.
Hope this made yall chuckle. Sadly, it is a very true story. Men. Gees.

robbie, the secret decoder ring is actually a thread called "Abbreviations for Newbies."
OG, Can they drain the seroma? Why do some women get these and not others? I imagine it formed in the space that had the Mammosite. I wonder if seromas are more common in women that had the balloon brachytherapy or SAVI (comment theresap?)

So E-I didn't realize we were all posing for the camera when we got into our positions at karate last night. I also didn't realize that my pants were down so low (that's me on the far right); I'm jailin'.

elimar & OG: What I've read and was told is that seromas can form with any cavity, even after surgery removes the lump. If it's not infected, then there is no treatment. My surgeon called it fluid or edema. My mammogram didn't show up anything out of the ordinary. My breast still feels lumpy/clumpy at the site of surgery/SAVI but it doesn't bother me now that I know what it is.
I can't find Abbreviations for Newbies! I can see myself making the same foible as Robbie! Someone provided a link in another thread, but it didn't work for me.

hello everyone, Doing well after second round of chemo. Also got the report of PET/CT scan, still have some enlarged nodes but the chemo will shrink these nodes.
Ladies, As I have read these posts, I can see the concerns over delays, waiting time and poor communication from healthcare provider. This sucks and should not be happening. You have to be annoying, whether the drs or nurses like it. ALWAYS follow up after a test or biopsy and demand a copy of the report. CALL, CALL and keep CALLING for information. After you have been diagnosed there should not be months of delay. Find a good friend to go with you to appointments or call your BC nurse navigator every 2 days so help in keeping things moving. Remember this is your body, not their, but also there is a lot of us out here and drs do get overwhelmed, so just push thru. You do have choices, I warned all my onc specialists that I was a very pushy nurse and I know what has to be done and the timelines, so they should be prepared for me. So far they just laugh and agree!!!

I'm pretty good at it, and I've been applying it to my healthcare professionals lately, much to their dismay. So far I've worked over the oncology nurse and a woman at the mammogram imaging center. Next on the list is the dentist. Fun, fun, fun!I'm not in the picture up above, as my Toni home permanent didn't take as well as y'all's did and I was embarrassed. I also couldn't find my big glasses from 1988.
You all know that these are actual pictures of Elimar's real friends and family and pets and Cheeto art projects, don't you?

I miss the big ol' frames. The small ones are cuter and trendy, but I have no sense of what's on the ground right in front of me. Thank goodness for contacts, or I would be injured daily by falling over marching shoes and Lego and instrument cases...

I'm a firm beleiver in the call every 15 minutes approach. Stay nice to the receptionist, but call every 15 minutes. When the doc gets to his desk or picks up messages there will be a HUGE pile, and your name will very likely be on top. Even if he flips through the pile trying to avoid your message he's going to keep hitting on more messages from you. Squeaky wheel, and all, you know.

My oncologist's nurse's outgoing message specifically says NOT to leave multiple messages "as this will only delay our response to you." Just sayin'.
