No, it's a cold. Go get the shot! Even if you get the flu, you won't get as sick if you're vaccinated.

Ran on the treadmill this afternoon for 30 minutes while watching a new Netflix film about yoga. Does that count as double the exercise?

LB- are you being trained or giving training as a yoga teacher?

    Hi ladies,

I just down-sized com 650cc to 500cc sub pectoral after four years. I feel GREAT and it's been two weeks. I did not wear supportive bras with my last Implants, just thin Gap bralettes and I paid for it. The implants were low, saggy and loose. I also did push ups, heavy weights, ran and disregarded night time by going braLess. The SINGLE thing that my PS said will keep theses looking good is a commitment to sport bras and good bras in general. Bathing suits are the only exception to wearing supportive bras. I hate the sounds of it but hate Surgery more!!

Hello ladies, here's some pictures from my nice morning walk. In a little while, we are heading up to Fountain Hills and will walk some more there.

That does count Falconer and it's a 200 hour YA yoga teacher training, to become certified to teach.

I have had a little set back with my fitbit steps. My girl has pneumonia. She aspirated on her meds a few nights ago and I just knew this was coming! She is a cuddle bug when she does not feel good so I cuddle in the recliner with her and just let everything else go.

Ruth- love the pictures. Hope you are feeling better and thank you for the hug.

Varga - much more important to take care of your sick girl than to worry about your Fitbit steps. Hugs from me to her and hope she feels better soon.

Walked 50 min with the dog - in the forest today instead of the seaside. Had to wait until it stopped hailing before we could head out though - I'm ok with rain or snow but draw the line at hail.

everyone keep on moving! Except Vargadoll - you're on cuddle duty.

Super busy at work this week so my exercise has been pitiful. Since my last Saturday report, I did go to yoga on Sunday but have only done one of my 15 minute walk/stair walks this week. Today I will definitely get myself out as its relatively warm and will be sunny today

Trying to catch up with everyone's news. Karen, I am so sorry you have lost your mother. Appreciate that you had a mother you loved so much. As you know, that's a gift. Vargadoll, I can't imagine healing from the loss of your child. I love what you said about seeing your daughter in the butterflies and summer breeze. I love that.

HoneyB, welcome and just keep walking to start. I find the more I exercise the more I like it, but I only do small amounts of exercise I don't like much - like weights. I do a lot of walking on our nature trails, and in the summer I also get out my bicycle.

Ruth, thanks or sharing some summer with us Northerners!

Honey, I started back slowly with doing housework and progressed to walking in my neighborhood. I am now back to working out on a regular basis.

Lilac, I did my YTT 200 8 years ago, and it was great! I hope you have a good teacher, and that you're getting a lot out of it.

Hi, ladies, I have so missed posting here. Cast is off and I’m in pt trying to get range of motion back. Once that is accomplished, then they can start strengthening. Very frustrating how being immobilized has taken its toll on my hand and fingers. Was very very swollen when the cast came off, which had everyone freaked out about lymphedema, but 2 weeks out the swelling is going down. I’m very hopeful that I will dodge that bullet.

I haven’t been released to do anything really, but I started walking around the indoor track at the y yesterday. I see the dr on the 5th so I’ll ask for more of a timeline when I can get back on an elliptical, for example. Iplan to use the recumbent bike also. I’m sitting so I don’t see a fall risk in that. And I need him to tell me when I can run again. Even if it’s not soon, I need that date to look forward to.

The not so good news I got this week is that my echo showed I am in heart failure now. EF fell 15 percentage points since October. So treatment has stopped and I’m waiting to see a cardiologist for what’s next. I’m not looking forward to the meds I assume I’ll have to be on. My job only allows breaks at certain times now (so much micromanaging, ugh!) and if you miss it, you forfeit your break (my state does not mandate breaks, employers can provide them as a courtesy, but there’s no requirement. It’s been a point of contention for other employees, so HR frequently sends out reminders; that’s how I know their policy. Never would have thought of it otherwise.) Also, my work is very mental, so being sleepy from beta blockers is not going to cut it. But there is nothing that can be done about it now and I will just have to see what happens. I haven’t really searched for anything on the boards about chemo induced cardiomyopathy and heart failure because most stuff here is worst possible scenario and I don’t want to scare myself before I’ve seen the cardiologist.

CVS, hope the swelling keeps going down and that the cardiologist has some not so bad recommendations. Very smart to see him/her before you look around here or seek out Dr. Google; where, no matter what you're researching, you'll be scared silly!

I walked again this morning; glad to share some desert sun with my Northern Sisters. Here's a picture of DH and I with our good friends yesterday on the walking path at Fountain Hills.

cdv, I agree with ruth. My best friend growing up was a wilderness survival guide. When you hit the fork on the road she would say " let's continue forward, collect more information, and then decide what to do".

    I live by that philosophy!

Spent the afternoon /night in the ED with DD. she has a chronic condition that no one can diagnose. After 2 years we thought it was "settling out" to be more predictable. She was having pain and odd sensations some places on one side of her body. Wierd. They ruled out a lot of stuff, but no closer to a working diagnosis.

Needless to say, getting home at 3 am I feel pretty lousy today. I will walk if I feel up to it.

I'll get back to my routine tomorrow.

Remember if u are struggling like I am, just do a little every day, and a little at a time

    Hello All,

I have not been as focused on exercise during my radiation treatment but this week the SE really were getting to me with skin pain and irritation so I turned to yoga on youtube and started this http://true.yogawithadriene.com/ and also attended a yoga class at the Wellness Center affiliated with my treatment location. I enjoyed it. Deep breathing has been a help when I can not sleep, feel anxiety or need to manage pain. Glad I have done yoga for years on and off before embarking on this new challenge.

Tried to walk outside today but the sun vanished and the wind picked up and I found I was uncomfortable after a mile or so. Maybe I will try tomorrow. Winter is making activity that much more challenging but a week in which I did 3 yoga sessions, Tai Chi Chih and Pilates is making feel proud of my warrior spirit.

Hope you are all having a good weekend.

Ruth your photo looks wonderful. I am yearning for spring here in NJ. I have a dear friend who has lived in Scottsdale since the early 70s. Looks like you are nearby!

Nordic walking sticks to the harbor and back, just over 7K steps, not too bad for slow and slippery icy conditions.

Sunday Zumba is done. I like having the fitbit & seeing how much time I spent in cardio & peak zones.

Wow Ruth - are those cactuses? They really look like that? How cool! (I get excited about palm trees too lol)

Got a nice 2.5 mile walk in today. I’m hoping to hit the gym track M,W,F to walk while hubby does his thing. PT is T,Th but one of those days is earlier than usual so I’ll try to get to the gym that day. Haven’t heard from the cardiologist yet, but I don’t imagine walking would be discouraged.

Yesterday I did some upper body weights and a 32 minute run/walk since we had no snow or ice. Today it is cold again so I searched for some Zumba on youtube and did Zumba for over an hour.

oh, cdv, hope you hear about your heart soon.

Meow congrats on the weight loss.

Ladies, you all are staying strong through winter's blues!

Ran 5k outside today for the first time in a long while. The air felt great. More snow on the way probably means back to the treadmill. Tell me,what do you do to stay motivated on that dreaded machine?

Welcome!
