I love elderflower. Ikea sells a syrup for adding to sparkling water. Divine on a hot day.

Fever Tree sells an elderflower tonic water. Talk about the ultimate summertime indulgence with a spot of good gin! I have recently done a bit of "testing" just to be sure.

I have had elderflower wine in the UK. Again heavenly. Can you tell I am a fan? - Claire

Runnersmum, well done you! Love the photo, looking super fit & fab and the medal is terrific!! Twohobbies, what an amazing wedding - huh? This quote was on Elton John's Instagram and perfect for summing it up: It jumps hurdles, leaps fences, penetrates walls to arrive at its destination, full of hope." - Maya Angelou. Elderflower to me, is a subtle taste, that has a tangy-sweetish' sort of limey font notes and a slight 'green' aftertaste. It's common and popular here in drinks and baking. The cake was delicious and the swiss meringue buttercream (flavored with elderflower syrup & squeezed lemon) was a first for me - heavenly & delicious.

    The royal wedding cake

Off to get a lesson plan pulled together as I'm teaching Pilates at the spa at 10am. I need to chill today as my right leg woke me last night with a muscle spasm, as i had an attack earlier in the evening when napping on the sofa. Been taking 400mg magnesium daily but slacked on on drinking water, and switched to Smartwater that has added electrolytes. I've been lately working with a osteopath, to help stretch the muscle and massage that effected area of my right leg..thought we may have knocked this on the head. Oh well. Have a good Sunday everyone!

Runnermum what a milestone for you. Congratulations. I too cried when I first went mountain biking in Sedona after.completing AC. Deep down we worry that we will never see normal again, and these successes are.evidence that "new normal" can be just as satisfying, if not more.

Eleven-mile mountain bike ride on Friday through challenging singletrack deep in the mountains. Not as strong as before but so amazing to be out there with only my dog (the young one). Rest and recovery day yesterday, in-town ride with old dog in new pull cart. Hilarious. I'll take a picture next time to share. Another ride today but not sure what will be dry after yesterday's big rain. So green.

    Runnermum, woohoooooo!

Lilacblue, I thought you baked those cakes until I googled royal wedding cake. I would eat that despite the sugar.

It was a gorgeous wedding, wasn't it? I loved the biracial-ness of it all. The bishop's sermon, the gospel choir, Doria Ragland's nose stud, all seemed to pierce the stuffiness of British nobility. Refreshing.

I went barefoot jogging in the house yesterday for 40 minutes. Today it was an intense Zumba workout followed by some exercises with the TRX.

I got up at 5am and watched the wedding yesterday. Lovely and a refreshing break in the bad-news cycle. I also went to my retiring yoga teacher's last class. Boo Hoo. I went through a lot of kleenex that morning! I went for a walk and did some yard work this afternoon. It is a beautiful day and everything here is green at last!

Lilac, sorry to hear about the muscle spasms. Let us know how the magnesium and electrolytes do for you- if you get relief.

Worked my but off in the garden today. Finally felt like spring here in NY!

Bananas and/or tonic water can also help with leg cramps/spasms. We went to a fund raising dinner where I very unwisely ate a pie of lemon meringue pie for dessert and bought a zip lock bag full of monster cookies from the bake sale table. I came home and promptly ate two of the cookies and have been on the treadmill for the last 50 minutes trying to wear them off again. Bad me!!!

Thank you for all the congrats ladies! It felt pretty darn awesome! I thought of you ladies many times Sat morning. All of you are an inspiration to me and thank you again for the support. I felt great yesterday and walked the dog 2 miles and did some recovery yoga. Will do the same today and do an easy run tomorrow. May hop on the bike tonight too.

Bareclaws...I have seen your weekly mileage totals. Believe in yourself I think you are ready. My base was no where near that when I started after chemo. This training I didnt worry about my time. I did not do any speedwork, just consistently ran and added mileage (mainly to my long run) My long run was only 11 miles. Ususally for a half I will go up to 13 or 14 and run 10-12 miles a few times. My goal was to just finish and show cancer who was boss. Now I have the right base and will throw in some speedwork, tempo runs etc for the next half in Sept.

    Jo..do it! Love halfs!!

Lilac I hope you get some relief from those spasms!

I obviously missed the wedding. There were a few groups of runners weariring the hats. So fun!

This makes me think of you ladies. Whether it be shoes, swimsuits, bikes, ski's etc! We' re all very awesome! Happy Monday! XOXO

Yes, we are all awesome, Runner!

    Push mowed for 90 minutes.

On a side note: a good friend of mine has been diagnosed with Hodgkin's Lymphoma. She had made the decision to buzz her hair as it started falling out during chemo (she started in March). A few years ago I read on BCO the suggestion to throw your hair in your yard so birds can collect it to build their nest. I told her about it and she thought it was a fabulous idea. Well, this week she found a nest in one of her hanging baskets with her hair woven in it by mama and papa bird. How cool is that!

    That is so sweet, Wonderland.

    Great poster, Runner!

I had a busy day; subbed, had my annual check-in with my oncologist (all is well), welcomed the carpet lady who came to take measurements (a big 'spruce up of the upstairs' project is soon to begin......), walked the grandpuppies, went to Zumba ,and then to a friend's house for supper and to watch the finale of Dancing With the Stars. Whew!

Catching up to all of you after having been away for a weekend at the Grand Canyon (just 2 1/2 hrs from home, lucky me). Although I spent much of today preparing to “move" to Phoenix for 8 day's while i have SAVI brachytherapy, I worked in a brisk 3 mile walk. Onward!

Wonderland, I loved your photo and story about the bird’s nest. Sweet

Super cool, Wonderland! Love the picture.  Majestic Grand Canyon photo, Patsy!

Played tennis with DH yesterday to open our tennis season. We were both rusty since we somehow never got to play last summer. Still, my Fitbit recognized this as "Sport" even without the heart rate monitor.

Just got results from knee MRI-- torn cartilage. They are scheduling me for arthroscopic surgery (hopefully next week). I am not sure of the downtime after the surgery. There is a 7 mile race in August where I live that I would like to run. Surgeon would not commit to me being able to do it, but I am hopeful. I guess it will depend on if I can get enough mileage in before the race without causing further damage. This is so disappointing to me because I was feeling so good about the workouts I had in and the recommitting to regular workouts.

Anyway, Egads- good to know about the posting on myfitnesspal. I will be very careful, and I hope your butt is feeling better.

Runnermon- Concrats on the half!!! I am so happy for you. It is such a good feeling to accomplish what you did after everything that your body has been through.

Still lurking and reading the thread-- look forward to joining you all in exercising soon.

Yesterday: 3 sets 12 reps: Bulgarian split lung 50 lbs. bench barbell glute bridges 60 lbs. body weight push up off smith machine level 4, lat pull down 25 lbs. assist pull ups 60 lb, bench press 45 lbs, abduct machine 135 lbs adductor machine 195. Cardio 20 mins 80%, 20 mins 65%. My bum is sore. (Not from my fitness pal Capecod, from my trip to Bulgaria noted in my exercises lol!)

Ruth - love the new pic! As for the cookie scandal you had, I sympathize, I have a sweet tooth the size of Wisconsin.

Patsy - gorgeous pic, indeed lucky you! The canyon is on my bucket list! Looks like nothing much will hold you back...3 mile hike during treatment, yay you!

Capecod - awww, sorry about the knee! You could try upper body stuff to keep yourself from going off the exercise grid completely. I know how frustrating it is to lose ground and feel your pain!

Wonderland - oh em gee that pic of the nest!...how awesome is that idea on so many levels!

Heidi - tennis is def a workout! I tried it once and as the old saying goes ‘ couldn’t hit the broadside of a barn’! Children off court were pointing and laughing at me.

Runner - big huge congrats!! so proud of your accomplishment! You made us all shine! Your pic got this stoic a wee bit misty

Where the heck is my virtual gym buddy DancingElizabeth? Hope you’re not slacking girlfriend!!

Have been at the family beach cottage the past week...weather has been okay which I judge as my being able to get my 3 mile walk in each morning and being able to sit out in the late afternoon reading and later with a cocktail...haven't missed a day yet so good by my standard!  Also got in two yoga classes at the local studio. Unfortunately took my fitbit off this morning to apply sunscreen before my walk and forgot to put it back on! Upon returning home saw mr. fitbit on the hall table...well, I'm counting the walk (as it takes me nearly an hour in the deep sand) even if it isn't in my weekly total! And do realize that I am better served with my sunscreen then fitbit.

Call outs to Runnermom, great job.  Hope you are feeling better LB.

Today is mom's 83rd b'day, so trying to make a special day for her.

    Best to all, TT

Wonderland, sorry to hear about your friend;thanks for the lovely post. ❤️ Beautiful how nature works to restore us.

Ruth, with you on the cookies. On Saturday the little DS and I were stuck inside so we baked chocolate chip cookies. Today was such a trying one with my eighth graders I came home and scarfed down three. Now, power yoga.

Yesterday ran 3.5 miles. And I actually did some arm work, triceps presses and chest presses against the sink while the little DS showered.

Wonderland...loved that story. Thinking of your friend.

Yoga class last night and ran 3 tonight. Some stiffness in my feet but otherwise felt pretty good. Will do some strength stuff tomorrow.

Ruthbru- love the message on the poster. Also, sometimes we just need to eat the cookie-- just sayin....

Heidihill- thanks for the link. It was even more interesting to me because I had been considering doing strength training on the good side, and decided not to because I did not want to have a muscle imbalance between the good and the injured side. After reading this I am going to do some one legged squats, dead lifts and maybe some lunges. It will be interesting to see the changes if any between now and when I am cleared to full on work out again.

Also, I am thinking if I can't do a full body workout, maybe do a big concentration on abs/core. I have always wanted six pack abs. I figure if I say that here on this board now I am accountable to work towards that (altho I do not think I will get six pack abs, a strong core is always good).

The Wednesday Walking Women took our Annual Field Trip (to Runners town, which is bigger and where quite a few of our friends have retired to). We met up with some of these old friends, walked a beautiful park, had a long, yummy lunch, laughed, talked, shopped, and stopped for pie on the way home. In other words, a great day!

Pretty picture, Ruth. I also love the saying. That's a good one. I have to smile a little about retiring to a ND town. North Dakotans are hardy - they don't retire to Florida or Arizona!

Patsy, beautiful grand canyon photo. What a treat.

Wonderland, what a fabulous idea about the hair. I used to have a Keeshond. They are a big fluffy arctic-type dog that has an undercoat that would shed all over in the spring, and in my bird house I would find her hair woven into the bird's nest.

I've been doing my stairs routines at work once a day. I've been doing 12 flights instead of 8. Today is the first day of my stay-cation and the weather has cleared up and is summery, so I'm excited to be able to get some good exercise and yard work in.
