Oh no, Octo! As the kids say, "That sucks!" Not needing surgery is a positive thing, but it still is a very, very frustrating for sure!! You definitely can count the PT, transferring etc. as exercise, because it is!

Octogirl - sorry to hear about the broken leg - you sure sound like you are taking in your stride. Sorry your trip got side railed. Wishing you a speedy recovery that doesn't mess with your knee.
Trmtab - good news on the dentist visit
Cold, damp and rainy - messed with our after work walk - we'll see what tonight brings. This weather should be out of here by tomorrow.

OMG Octo, one day with the family then bam a broken leg! How unfair is that? Glad to hear at least the fracture is minor and doesn't require surgery. You are strong and determined and will face this temporary setback with grace and humor (building upper body strength via wheelchair, indeed). Rehab did wonders for my mom after her stroke; they should be able to help you a lot. Plus they will give you exercises you can do at home/hotel.
I googled "wheelchair yoga" and came up with many hits. Maybe something to consider. Lilac - any ideas for Octogirl?
Fitful sleep last night so opted for a long nap this afternoon. Felt feline, curled up on the couch in a patch of sunshine.

Octo: So sorry! Hoping it heals correctly and there is no need to redo your knee

I just googled exercises you can do in a wheelchair & there are tons. Check them out when you are feeling up to it!

Octogirl - that sounds extremely frustrating!! Sorry to hear you're going through that.

Happy Friday! Laid in bed awake from 4 to 5 then finally got up. Using my Cubii- in just over a week, it will be light this time of day. Defrosting my freezer - it was pretty empty so the time to do it before I stock up on chicken and beef- none in the house - the last order was December 31st so can't complain.
My regular Friday - grocery shopping, cooking and cleaning and of course a couple weeks - Need more than that - ate junk all day yesterday and I've gained a couple pounds this week - weight is okay, but want to shed the 2# and not filling my face for the sake of eating. I had been doing so good for so long. No ice cream or chocolate!!!
Have a great day.

Oh Octo, that is horrible. Prayers for healing. TT

Yogi Breathing & Nidra this morning. Dogs this afternoon.

Octo, so very sorry and hope you mend well without disruption to your knee. Where are you in California? Ruth, you are the pack leader!
Had my 1st. vaccination today and teared up afterwards out of happiness and gratitude. I feel ok not even a sore arm.

Yea, Lilac! I teared up too. Seemed like I could see a light at the end of the tunnel.
Here's something to aspire to:
Tokyo (CNN) At 118 years old, the world's oldest living person is preparing to carry the Olympic torch this May in Japan.
Kane Tanaka, who has twice survived cancer, lived through two global pandemics and loves fizzy drinks, will take the flame as it passes through Shime, in her home prefecture of Fukuoka.
While Tanaka's family will push her in a wheelchair for most of her 100-meter (about 328 feet) or so leg, the supercentenarian -- a person aged over 110 years old -- is determined to walk the final few steps, as she passes the torch to the next runner.
CNN spoke exclusively with Tanaka, who has a new pair of sneakers for the event -- a gift from her family on her birthday in January.
"It's great she reached that age and she can still keep up an active lifestyle -- we want other people to see that and feel inspired, and not to think age is a barrier," said her grandson Eiji Tanaka, who is in his 60s.
Previous record holders for the oldest Olympic torchbearers include Aida Gemanque of Brazil, who lit the torch at the 2016 Rio Summer Games age 106, and table tennis player Alexander Kaptarenko, who ran with the torch at the 2014 Sochi Winter Games at 101 years old.0 -
PiYo & Pound this morning. I've been picking up some of the million branches scattered around the yard (all which had been under the snow, which is at least temporarily melted).

Friday's exercise was cleaning out the bedroom closet. I focused on the boxes on the shelf. The organizational experts say get rid of stuff you haven't used or worn in a year. These boxes have not been touched since we moved here in 2015. Two boxes were barware: wine glasses, margarita glasses, and cordial glasses. Kept one set of four wine glasses and donated the rest. Two boxes were clothing: one with jeans and one with t-shirts. Donated all the old jeans and started to go through the t-shirts but set aside that box for another day. Many are from concerts and 5K walks that I don't want to part with just yet. The trip down memory lane was distracting me from the day's purpose. The last box was stuffed with grocery bags full of pix that didn't make it into photo albums. Most of them were so old and had been stored so long they were stuck together. Ended up tossing the lot.
Pulled more boxes of stuff from mom's storage unit yesterday. Plan to donate most of it as she won't need dishes or cookware any more. I can't believe how many casserole dishes she has! I may keep one, a gratin dish, and donate some of our casserole dishes to boot. Nice stuff from Corning but again, hasn't been used in years. There are three more boxes of stuff in the storage unit, one is marked kitchen (more kitchen equipment??) and two are wardrobe boxes with clothing. Then it's down to the furniture. Have been asking family members if they want anything but no takers. Too bad, there's a nice two-seat sofa that converts to a twin sleeper bed; her bedroom set with matching bed, dresser, and nightstand; a very old secretary desk that I want to keep but have no room for; and an antique "commode" marble-top table that is HEAVY. The last two items I will probably hang onto but am wondering how the heck to get them home.
Today I will go through our cookware then make a run to Goodwill. Looks nice enough to walk outside this afternoon. Spring is on the way - tulips are coming up on the south side of the house!

I know some people who have had quilts made out of tee shirts that had special memories , badger. Just a thought.
I will definitely take a walk on this lovely day. Also will go to Barre Sculpt & maybe yoga (which is finally back at my fitness center instead of Zoom).

Badger - I can't go by the one year for clothes - especially if I like it - I'm wearing some tops now that I haven't worn in a few yesr - so glad that I didn't give them away, though. do have others to give away.
Gorgeous weather here but I haven't spent enough time outside - its been an aggrevating day - DD flight got canceled so we spent time on the computer trying to book a new flight. Successful but way more money but we want her to be able to visit. heck its only money!!
Got to get a walk in - It's sad that I can't remember if we walked this morning. I think we did!!!
Have a great rest of Sunday

This year, if I gave away everything I hadn't worn; I'd have nothing left in my closet except yoga pants, tees, and sweatshirts! 😄

I just went through closet and have about a dozen tops and cardigan sweaters to give away - some I've had for over 10 years and haven't worn in a couple years - they are all in like new condition. I have 3 skirts that I really love, but they are a size too big, but I'm not ready to part with yet - nope, I'm not keeping them to grow back into, just wondering if they can be altered - probably not as two are corduroy and one is poplin but they are all jean style. When DD gets here she is going to go through clothes she left behind and is bringing back stuff to give away - that gives me a couple weeks to say I'll replace them next time I'm in Israel (2 of 3 skirts are from Israel). I still have way more clothes than I need, but I do rotate most of my tops but since working at home and not going to synagogue, there are several things that I'm not wearing some I bought just before the lock down.
Still exhausted from the ordeal with the flight this afternoon. Then before dinner, I couldn't find my grocery list for Passover - half is bought and still need a few other things - it is on blue paper, but the back side is white and didn't recognize it upside down. I'm loosing my mind!!!
It's almost 7:30pm, but it feels like bed time!!!
Have a restful rest of the night and sweet dreams

I have plenty of clothing, even with the items I donated. The jeans I wear now have a bit of spandex to make them comfortable to sit in. The jeans I donated did not.
Half the town must be doing spring cleaning. There was a line of cars at the Goodwill donation center yesterday. The staff person said it was crazy busy on Saturday.
It's an absolutely gorgeous day! Not quite 60 but sunny and the warmest it's been in months. Took a walk then came home and opened the windows. Took down the outdoor Holiday decorations (fake greenery with little red glass balls). Now I'm dusting & vacuuming with the radio on. DH is playing poker today so no TV yay.

Gorgeous here too. I went to Pound this morning & now it's off to walk some dogs.

Octo heel fast. I did a 20 mile bike ride yesterday. Up 2 miles. Got first dose of Covid vaccine yesterday. Finally

Another record breaking weather day (followed by the 30 degree drop tomorrow). I am going to run around doing errands this morning, walk dogs this afternoon & go to Barre Sculpt. We got an email to register for our second shots, so will get them next Thursday at 1:00. I can't wait!!!

It's gorgeous in Kansas--yesterday our high was 71, today's supposed to be 74. Rain moves in by midday tomorrow and we're going to get a lot. That's OK, we don't have to shovel rain.
I've been running every other day, staying very low mileage (like 2 1/4 mile route) so I can rebuild. I may ride my bike tomorrow morning if the rain holds off as it will be in the low 60s tomorrow morning.

Went to yoga at lunch and twisted my ankle...will lay low for a day. ugh. TT

Yikes on the twisted ankle, TT!
We also are having beautiful weather. 70 degrees today. I've been accessing the yard and making a mental list of all that has to be done before it springs back to full growth. It has been nice taking a winter break from it!
Walked/ran today.

Ooooo I am so sorry about the ankle!
I was down with a migraine yesterday and most of today, but Sunday I did strength training (zoom group) then went for a 3 + mile walk OUTSIDE Beautiful sunny day, and the path was icy in places only, and I did ok.
Today I did my rowing -- only 5400 meters but got my heart rate up to 206 on one of the pieces. Oops. I had my eyes closed and knew I was getting tired but wasn't watching my heart rate. But it came down nicely, so that was good. I am wondering if I am still anemic.

10-20" snow predicted for over the week-end. As we get closer to the week-end I wonder what the snow totals predictions will be.Today was high 60s. One of the biggest March snow storms - or should I say blizzard was 2003 - it was over my youngest DD 5th birthday. Everyone was off. It started snowing Monday night or Tuesday and Wednesday no one was going anywhere. It wasn't that cold so we were all outside shoveling and playing in the snow without jackets but snow pants. Nothing like spring time in the rockies.
Time for after dinner walk.

Ruth, congrats on jab #2! You and your hubby will feel so much safer.
TT ugh is right, sorry to hear of ankle twist.
Dragon, migraines are awful. Glad you got through it. Before COVID, when I still went to the gym, members had heart rate monitors that strapped around the chest and displayed HR and "zones" on TV screens around the gym. (I was badger there, too.) The zones went from blue to red. It was useful for hitting target HR especially when weight lifting so I knew when to back off and rest a bit. One time, I was on the treadmill listening to dance music, working hard and not paying attention to the display. One of the trainers came over and made me look up. I had been in the red zone for way too long. I was all sweaty and red in the face. Yikes! I paid better attention after that. No one wants a heart attack at the gym.
Another beautiful day yesterday, perfect for a walk. Spent quite a bit of time on paperwork for the VA. Mom is the surviving spouse of a wartime veteran so I'm applying for financial assistance to help with the assisted living costs. Visit with mom on tap for today and I wanted to get the paperwork ready for her signature.
We're getting rain today but it's still warm. That will take care of any lingering piles of snow. OMG Karen, 10 to 20 inches of snow? I remember spring weather in the Rockies from my time out West. Hope it melts fast.

Between tonight and late Monday, we're forecast to get over 3 inches of rain. I wish it would be a little more spaced out than that!
YesIamadragon, I have to watch my heart rate all the time now. I suspect things changed for me b/c of radiation treatments as my heart rate wants to spike, which it never did before.
TT, sorry about your ankle.
Ruth, congrats on getting fully vaccinated. My second dose is Sunday (during one of the monsoons) and I can't wait.
I ran 2 1/4 miles today; normally I wouldn't run back to back in the middle of rebuilding but all that rain in the next five days will put a serious cramp on any running.
