((vballmom)) - thoughts and prayers are with you!

Hope everyone enjoyed the time off! We all need a little down time once in a while.  I just can't wait for the next holiday for some more time off! Cool

Am hoping to get my walk in this morning, but it is really looking ominous outside at the moment!  Very humid and very dry, so we could really use the rain that this thunderstorm looks like it MIGHT provide!

Ruth - You are awesome!!  I find it hard to find the time for excercise (that's why I walk first thing - before work) - let alone while having company!  You are really like the energizer bunny!!

Mary Louise, what kind of exercises do you do in the pool?  We got to use our pool this weekend - I tried jogging in the pool for a few minutes, but not sure if that is good or not for my knees. I wound up being on my toes the whole time.

    Howdy-

Teresa (vballmom) is doing better; still in hospital though.  A bit discouraged that the Neulasta didn't work as well as she hoped, but she is feeling much, much better.  I'll let you know when she gets out.

Ran my schleppy 4 miles this am, going to do Power Housecleaning, grocery shopping, yardwork and yoga at 4.

Will have my final decision on Chi town tonight when hub comes home from work; I think I"m going to be able to do it!!!! Yahoo!

Thinking of vballmom. Too hot to do anything here today.

Over the weekend I did nothing either.

However, when we got home after doing nothing all day, I did 1/2 hour of dancing in front of mirror, free style, zumba, my ps is adament that I move myself.

Kim, tell vballmom to just enjoy ez reading. (50 shades)

    Hugs,

Been MIA as we have houseguests, yes again, this lot are young and so we have a blow up mattress on the floor in the living room and it's been all go go go and we have been doing all the So Cal touristy things but I have been going to the gym and doing my classes which has made my foot really hurt so lots of ice and Naproxin, I can hardly wait for my doctors appointment next week to get it sorted out but come &^** or high water my Chicago ticket is booked and paid for so I'm going to be there with bells on.

(((Vballmom))) Badger thank you for the recipe I'm going to make Mango cake yummmm (I opened up my page and there was your recipe so I take that as an omenSealed ) Heidi your hiking route looks beautiful. Esther sounds like your day was fun, it is great to volunteer at local events. Kim I have my fingers crossed and yes Adey a few of us are coming to Chicago July 18th thru the 22nd can hardly wait, we had so much fun together last year in Minneapolis, so we hope to get to meet you.

Busy busy - end of school in 2 weeks.  Not much time to get exercise in, but tomorrow I hope to get in Day 3 Week 1 of C25K.  If it's written, now I have to commit to it!  Smile

Company arrives tomorrow night and stays for a week.   I will take a page from Ruth's book - and try to keep exercising while everybody is here.

    heidihill   What a lovely hike!

badger  I'm giving your recipe a try this week, with rhubarb and strawberry.

    ((Hugs)) to vballmom

Poppinh by again. Did 30 on the treadmill this morning, 15 arms during a 'company break' & now will get in another 15 minutes of lower body before the next event. The reason I HAVE to sneak in exercise even if I have company is my (self-imposed) seven hours a week rule. If I wait until my sister leaves late Thursday night, then I would have to exercise seven hour on the weekend Surprised!

Hugs to vball. Blah!! Chemo sucks!

Adey, I will PM you with our Chicago information. It would be great if you could join us!

I pushed mowed the yard this evening for 2 hours. Jumped in the shower right after because I was soaking wet! The yard looks great (until next week when we have to start all over again).

Keep up the good work everyone.

Did Body Step class tonight but without the step just did the whole class on the floor, foot started to hurt about 30 minutes into the class but not too badly and I'm now going to reward myself with ice cream, yes I'm a bad girl but that's the whole reason I exerciseTongue out

Joy my 17 year old goddaughter in in Vienna and Prague this week, her dad is there on business so she's gone as his "escort" she was so excited.

30 mins Zumba. 25 mins of pilates. HUGE thunder storms and lightening here with high winds and torential downpours! Kind of crazy..... sky was black at 5. Had hoped to do a loop which include a very steep set of ski jump stairs. Very steep, but execellent workout for the derrier :) Will try again tommorow!

So glad to hear vballmom is doing better.

Ruth, you inspired me. Just went out and got myself a notebook to record my activity. I think you are great!

    Missed ya Cheryl!!!!

Really nice stretch of weather in store for us this week, walked at lunchtime and also after work yesterday.  Came home to no water, the City is putting in a roundabout near our home and some brainiac with a backhoe busted a water main when digging.  So I had to go see what was up (nosey me).

Yay Kim sure hope you can join us, and Adey too!

Summer yoga classes start in a few weeks, so happy for that.  Practice on my own is good but I love the energy with a group.

Thanks for the pix, Heidi, gorgeous views and pretty flowers!  Have a great day ladies!  ((hugs))

Well, finally got my butt to the gym last night and did 23 minutes of intervals on the elliptical.  I'm trying to build up my leg muscles so I can attempt jogging again.  Then came home and did lower body workout video.  Also walked for 2 miles at lunch, and got up and did classical stretch this morning.  I officially signed up for Diva Dash yesterday, so it's time to get serious!

Haven't stopped by in a few days - sounds like everyone is doing well.  I had a great Memorial Weekend and for three days I did a ton of yard work and heavy-duty chores at the cabin, even helping dh build a much-needed woodshed.  Unfortunately I overdid it, and have been too tired work out since then.  I even skipped yoga class last night - something I NEVER do.  Most of the time I'm pretty upbeat, but sometimes I get discouraged with this stupid letrozole fatigue thing.  It's such a $%%# balancing act managing the AI fatigue.  Usually I'm pretty good at being able to workout and do chores and knowing when to stop before a fatigue crash, but I misjudged this weekend, and now I'm paying for it.  Oh well, things look really good after all my hard work, so at least there's a benefit to overdoing it.

Hopefully I can get back to working out tomorrow. I gotta keep up with you ladies!Cool

hbcheryl   How exciting for your goddaughter - Vienna and Prague are wonderful!  And we are having some fabulous spring weather now.

NatsFan   Boo on the fatigue - ugh, no fun.   I bet you bounce back quickly!

Heard the Voices loud and clear - just got back from the run that I committed to, feels great to be sweaty and energized.  Smile  I'm liking the Week 1 C25K routine - wondering how Week 2 will go?   Off to shower and get ready for company in a couple of hours.

    Hugs ~

Happy to hear of everyone doing their thing, running, walking, rowing, spinning, zumba-ing, yoga-ing... it's making me dizzy just to list all the -ing things! I ran my 5 miles in the park this morning, and it's officially now the "rain forest" with all the moistness in the air. Love it!

5 km walk this morning and just finished trimming the yard with the lawn mower for 30 minutes.

Pat01 - We have an above ground pool, so I usually run for a bit (I use my water hand weights at the same time), then on to jumping jacks, leg kicks, arm work with the weights and a kickboard.  Then I use the side of the pool for front and back leg kicks and also stomach/leg lifts and intersperse it all by running so I keep my heart rate up.  Then I do some straight swimming (laps) forward and backward and finish off again with running.  Absolutely love this as it really doesn't seem like excercising cause I really love being in the water!

Hope everyone is well. Glad to see Cheryl & Mary back, but where's Patoo??

50 mins of Zumba this morning. I look like a complete tool trying to keep up with the moves but I was drenched in sweat by the end and it was fun! I have just been doing the DVD's, must find a good live class.

Mary, give yourself a break! You are awesome :)

25 minutes FIRM toning DVD this morning & 35 minutes Hard Core Fushion just now. It is so cold here that I had to cover up all my plants last night! I sure hope it warms up by Saturday morning for my 'race'. Maybe I will really have to run it just to keep warm!!!

Ruth and badger: send your coolness here, please. Hot and humid today.

I didn't get to walk/run tonight. My SIL is in the hospital in a nearby town and we went to visit here. She was diagnosed with melanoma last summer - it was in her thumb nail! It's a long story so I won't go into all of it. The doctors were sure it was a super infection. Melanoma was never suspected. She had her thumb removed plus node disection. One node was positive. PET showed no progression.

All was well until January when she started coughing up blood. By the time she had another PET, there were 8 tumors of melanoma on her lungs. #$&@% She has had 2 of her 4 treatments of a new chemo that was approved last summer for melanoma. She's in the hospital because her Sodium level bottomed out. She's getting another scan tonight.

    F%$&*@ cancer.

((((Wonderland))) I'm so sorry to hear this. It's good though that she was able to get those new meds. F- cancer! Keeping fingers crossed for her scans.

Did Week 6, Day 3. I think from here on the running goes without walking breaks. I may have to do a modified C25K by taking 3 minute breaks at half-time for Week 7, Day 1a and Day2a.
