Back from our trip - so much to catch up on here.  First, welcome to the newbies - mrtw it's nice to see another Marylander!  Don't overdo after surgery, but my surgeons always said I could walk as much as I wanted, so good for you for getting out.  Carroll - congrats on the Vinnie tats - I have them too and am so pleased.  Odie - enjoyed the dog door lock story.  Gotta love those furkids!  Annie - congrats on the B9 biopsy. And it looks like everyone else is keeping busy!  And Pat - hopefully there's a trip to London in your future to visit your youngest!

I synced my Fuelband to my phone and crunched a few numbers when I got home.  During my vacation, I walked 71 miles, averaging just over 5 miles a day.  I took just over 174,000 steps, averaging more than 12,000 per day.  Our most intense day was our first full day in London - we walked over 10 miles and took over 26,000 steps!  We had a great time, and the weather was unexpectedly nice, with only one day of rain.  It was an incredible experience - we explored castles and palaces, saw beautiful cathedrals and ruined ancient abbeys, and walked through the streets of medieval towns like Cambridge and York.  We saw Stonehenge, the Roman Baths, and Hadrian's Wall.  We saw breathtaking scenery like the Ring of Kerry in Ireland, Giant's Causeway in Northern Ireland, and Northumberland National Park in England.  I ate haggis in Scotland (well, a couple of bites anyway), had Irish coffee in Ireland, and had a pint in a Dublin pub that's been operating since the year 1198.  We rode the Eye in London, and spent hours exploring the Tower of London.  I loved Edinburgh - what a beautiful city, and was very moved by the signs of reconciliation in Northern Ireland. We saw Scottish and Irish dancing, and heard beautiful Welsh songs.  I learned so much about the Scots, Picts, Celts, Romans, Saxons, Vikings, and Normans all of whom came to the UK and Ireland and left their marks.  And the kings and queens and the intrigues - wow.  We're sorting through our pictures now and I'll try to post a couple.

And can you believe after all that exercise I still gained a couple of pounds??  Yell

On a sad note, I'm horrified by the latest shootings here in DC at the Navy Yard.  We know that area well as our parking lot for Nats games is located right across the street from there.  Those of you Scuplted Sisters who went to the Nats game - when we parked and walked out of the parking lot to walk down M street to the ballpark, that complex of buildings behind the tall brick wall that extended for several blocks on the other side of M Street is part of the Navy Yard complex, so you were right there.  My heart goes out to the victims and their families.

Welcome back, Mary. Sounds like a wonderful trip!!! I believe a sign of a successful vacation is a little weight gain. Smile

I worked HARD today. I took every item out of every kitchen cupboard & drawer; sorted, threw, cleaned and put down new contact paper. So, if you come into my kitchen and pull open a drawer in the next 48 hours, you will be very impressed (just don't open the fridge, microwave, or stove as I haven't gotten to them yet). Then I walked for an hour on a beautiful, cool fall day and did 30 minutes of a pilates sculpt.

I also feel just sick about the shooting...apparently this is acceptable in our country, as nothing gets done....very, very heart breaking.

Joy: So glad to see that you are taking time for your healing. My thoughts and prayers are still with you.

Pat: You're a good mother to be able to let go and watch your son literally and figuratively fly.

Mary: Your trip sounds devine! Can't wait for the pictures. How did Mikey do while you were away?

Ruth: It's such a good feeling to clean and organize. Now report back when you are finished with the rest and then invite us all over for a meal. Many years ago I used to inspect restaurants for the health department and I'll be more than happy to do an inspection of your kitchen. Wink

No exercise today. I visited a friend in the hospital and also had a dental appointment. Plus, somehow I bruised an area above my ankle. It's sore and raised so I'm letting it heal.

Mary your trip sounds wonderful, I can't tell you how many times I've stood on the train station at York and walked the wall, also love that cathedral it always reminds me of Pillars of the Earth, and yes how is our Mikey, did you get the cold shoulder or the thank goodness you're home greeting on your return?  Pat hope you are feelig better.  Claire you are a SUPERWOMAN what an amazing accomplishment, you have every reason to be so proud of yourself.  Wonderland remind me to never let you look in my ovenTongue Out  Ruth I had a problem a couple of months ago and I put things in boxes and I just put the boxes back in the cupboard and now I just slide the boxes in and outSmile

This morning did Sh'bam and tonight Spin, it was such a crazy class the instructor split her spin shoe and I am slowly starting to feel the bottom of my feetSurprised

Can't believe what happened in Washington today, so sad.

Ruth I envy your clean and organized cabinets and especially the new contact paper.  I need to do the same.

30 minutes hooping, plus washed windows inside and out at the house.  Boy that was a job.  I may cry if they get dirty again before it sells.

Wow, am I tired!!! Did the 6am Zumba & then subbed in 8th grade English, where they were doing projects which involved small groups, magazines, scissors, glue, markers etc....lots of commotion and moving around....which meant I was moving around all day making sure nobody got poked with a scissor, written on with a marker, got too off track with visiting instead of working, didn't cut inappropriate pictures out of the magazines, didn't flirt too much with the cute boy/girl in their group....whew!!! Next I am going to a volleyball match, if I can squish my feet back into shoes!

Lilac, we will be thinking of you guys & praying for those wishes to come true.

Hit the gym yesterday for several miles on the Elliptical and bike plus weights. Increasing the difficulty as I get stronger. Ran several miles on the treadmill tonight plus weights.

Welcome home Mary. Can't wait to see the pictures. (Joy) Be good to yourself as you make your way thru the grieving process at your own pace.

My heart goes out to all the families with loved ones at the Naval base yesterday. Just awful....

Tonight did Body Step class, final one for our pregnant teacher till December, considering her due date is only 4 weeks away she has done amazing, tonight was the first time she has actually modified anything for herself then did Boot Camp then came home and bathed the dog, cooked dinner and then fell asleep on the couch.

50 minute walk. It was a huge achievement since whatever cold/flu is going around really got me. I wanted to stay in my pj's and sleep. Then I thought....I WANT THOSE JEANS TO FIT!!....and out the door I went.

Oh. I DID change out of my jammies first! ;-)

I didn't feel like it, but went for a short hike with the dog.  Then did 30 minutes of reformer pilates, first time in 2 months.  I bet I will be feeling this tomorrow.

Hi all.  Posting for last week - I did wear my pedometer and I think we averaged about 4 miles a day.  Was in Las Vegas and the hotel/casinos are humongous so you had to rack up steps.  Then went up to Hoover Dam, Red Rock Canyon and Grand Canyon.  Beautifull but lots and lots of walking around.  LV is off my bucket list but do need to go back and make it to the GC south rim.

    Night my sculpted friends.

Dulciegirl I've actually seen people in the gym in Jammie bottoms!! Welcome home Patoo sounds like you had a great time in Vegas with your sister. Badger I'm all good, nothing that a bit of stretching and a bag of ice didn't fix. Lovely pics Ruth, they look like a fun bunch to hang with. SAB I agree, it's getting dark earlier, sigh.....

This morning did Sh'bam and tonight Body Combat.

Wow, so many inspiring posts.  ((LilacBlue)) I am hoping the procedure went well and your DH is comfortable.

Two hour hike tonight.  I was a little overambitious with my path and got stuck on the trail after dark.  Fortunately there was a full moon (following a gorgeous moonrise), so I didn't have to light my way with my phone.  My mistake, somehow I thought it was 5:00 when I left home but it was 6:00!  I wish there was more time in between when the sun is finally less of an angry fireball in the sky and when it gets totally dark.

Sorry to all our sisters coming down with that nasty bug going around - I had it and it took two solid weeks to get over it, and I'm still not entirely myself yet.  Did do some classical stretch this morning, and hope for a walk at lunch today.  Was thinking about hitting the gym after work, but left the gym bag at home :(   - ok, maybe on purpose!  I admire you dulcigirl going for a walk with your bad cold.

All good photos Ruth and thanks for sharing!

Got to pink ribbon pilates this morning and now bent over tree wind with rain, so no running this afternoon. Undecided

Well, DH is my hero, the peg is in and we are to run 20cc of water twice a day to keep it clear.  Husband is napping in the chair behind me and tomorrow morning, chemo picc placement and in the afternoon, a radio dry run with his mask on to make sure all is spot on for kick off on Monday.  The district nurse has not called or come by and thanks to my lovley friend Pat, who is a retired nurse, she has put my fears to rest (back flow is normal), answered questions and is there when we need her - bless.

Thank you, (((All of YOU))) for your hugs and shout outs - they do mean so much.  (((Joy))).
