And even with all the meds we have here at home, it is like talking to a 4 year old, trying to tell them, "Well we HAVE this for your nose, and THIS for your cough, and NO, you won't die from taking these different meds together." What you will DO is, die from me hitting you over your head if you don't shut UP!"
But they WON'T go to the Docs, unless they are positively, without a doubt, on their last legs!
I'm amazed at how we women, can diagnose, and take care of the kids, AND them, and 1/2 the rest of the family on both sides, and we do it without blinking!
Sorry..... I just got caught up in that, because MY DH also is whining (but sleeping the whole night through) about his off and on little sniffle.
I could have a broken arm, with the bone showing through, and he would say, "oh here, let me help you carry that chair."
I LOVE Dancing with the Stars! I used to watch competition ball-room dancing on TV! I'll be sorry when this is over...
And the same with Nascar is done until FEBRUARY! What do they expect us to do in the meantime? Dance around the house? And race down the highway?Smiley.... yes! Always be hopeful! Even when things get a little dicey, always be hopeful, and calm.

Pa is freezing....and we are gettin flurries for the next few days.
The house is old and it takes lots and lots of the old fashioned oil to keep this house on 70deg....and none of us can sleep with the heat on..

Morning kids! Okay, time to all get up!
You Eastern gals, I'm so glad you are getting back to normal, and things are looking brighter now! That storm was the worst! Can't imaging going through something like that. It's just COLD here in Colorado... but it's Winter... and could be worse. I was born and raised here, so I don't know any difference.
Granny Kantalope, our house is old too! A little Victorian, built in 1886, but I have always loved it. When I was little, we used to play with the "kids" that lived here... It's next to an "irrigation ditch" ..... And full of trees, and brush, etc! (and snakes & raccoons, & foxes & an occasional frog!) When our Grand-sons were little, I used to make a picnic lunch, and take a blanket, and we would go sit down by the "creek" and have a fun picnic! I was scared to death when our Daughter's were growing up, thinking they would get hurt over in that ditch!
So it was a form of "recreation".... Ha!
Princess, I'm not going to say a WORD about the Brooklyn, Italian, Scorpio thing..... I LIVE with an Italian, ha! By the way, were you ever interested in the Italian/Mafia stories? Here in Denver, and growing up with a lot of Italians, we all knew how proud and hard-working they all were! And the way to survive in those early years, I mean the ones coming over from Italy, going though Ellis Island, and trying to make it here, was so very hard on them! We have "old North Denver" where the Italian community was, along with the Irish... And seeing and hearing about them all making a life for themselves is really something to be proud of.
SOMEtimes, just like now, different groups organized, or like today, the BIG money guys figure out ways to make EXTRA money.... only NOW, like with Maddoff, there ARE things worse than a bat across the knees, Ha! I just think it is interesting to read about the early times our immigrants had to put up with.... I HATED history in school, but now I find it so fun to read about..... makes me proud we have come so far!
So now WHAT were you saying? Oh! Okay, that explains the mouth...

Hi everyone! Well my poor hubby ended up having the flu and the next day I started getting sick and guess what? I've got the stinking flu too, so does my poor little 4yr old granddaughter plus she has strep too! ugh!!! So no worky for me last night since I am a nurse in a nursing home. Can't expose the resident's to anything and with me running a temp I'm contagious. So here I lie in the bed with the computer and tv and my mug of soda. I almost died though when they told me how much my Tamiflu and cough med was... $168.00 cough, cough!! if I wasn't so sick I wouldn't have gotten it. Dang that is high. My hubby waited to long so all they gave him was cough tabs and a 7.00 antibiotic. he got off a lot cheaper. We will be in the poor house this week on count of meds and me missing a day of work.

I'm sorry Mimi! Just drink lots of water, and I'm sure you know that.... The flu just knocks the socks out of you! Take care of yourself.... kind of enjoy the time in bed....Hope the Tamiflu works.... What cough med was that, that was so expensive? I'll bet it had codiene in it.... I used to like to suck on a hot cinnamon candy.... Seemed to cut the feeling of wanting to cough all the time. And run a humidifier if you have one!

Mimi, hope that flu runs its course quickly. I lucked out and got offered a flu shot the end of August a couple weeks before my diagnosis and took it. Hoping that keeps me flu free this season.

Yes, I've been TRYing to get Granny, (Princess Kantalope) help since she found these boards. As some of you know, she is just plain "all out, full throttle, and "sort of" opinionated"..... Ha! For some reason I took responsibility for her, and tried to make her mind..... didn't help. But she's like one of your kids.... ya gotta love em, no matter what trouble they get into!
