Boy I am 10 pages behind.  Could not read everything.  Hope everyone is doing good and had a Happy Thanksgiving.

I had surgery yesterday.  I was scheduled for Friday but Monday they called and asked if I could do Tuesday.  I have a wonderful boss that said go ahead.  I did work until 8 to get everything done so I could be off for two weeks.  My implants were bottoming out  so they had to remove them do a bunch of internal stiching for support and put them back in.  I am pretty sore but the pain meds are working,

    My dumb fault!

NO chevy... Your DR and pharmacist BOTH should have told you to rinse.

grannydukes - you do not have  a corticosteroid. No worries - you wont get thrush, but rinse to avoid  a dry throat.

P.S. granny, if albuterol charges your heart at all, ask for xopenex ( pronounced ZOPENEX) It IS albuterol , but without the ingredient that is notorious for tachycardia.

Chevy, Yes like Pooh, always liked tigger and when the internet became the in thing couldn't think of anything else so have been stuck with it ever since. Glad you are keeping Granny in line, no telling what would happen if you weren't from what I have read so far. LOL.

Tigger.....and Eeyore too!  Ha, ha!  I remember those guys so well.......  Also the books by Dr. Seuss.... My Mom bought a series of them for my Daughter's when they were little.... Green Eggs and Ham.... Hop on Pop...etc!

Purple.... you are right... but my PC just prescribes, and doesn't take the time for little details.  Undecided   I DID  finally get a prescription for the "mix" but only after I asked for it.   The Pharmacist just fills the scrips, then you buy them from the clerk... You know, I'll BET those directions were on the box!!!!  Dang!   You can see how much I pay to directions!   Okay, my fault.

I'm going this morning for my annual physical.   I just wish  this Doc would take the time to just sit down and listen, and not always be in such a hurry to get to the next guy.   Hopefully I'll only have to see her like every year, for this physical.....My only little problem is the problem on my HANDS!!  She told me what it was about 3 months ago.... some sort of Eczema, Dermatitis stuff that itches, burns, and makes your fingers dry, crack and peel.... not to mention HURT!  I've tried so many creams...and a Dermatologist.... and everything helps for awhile, but it just doesn't go away.  I always use the creams, even ones I've mixed myself.  But I'll ask her again to day.... if she has time.

Princess kantalope..... hope you can get back to normal... (I didn't use quotes..., but I should have.... for her.)  Wink  I just love getting back home after a trip, not to mention the two years you were gone!  Your own place, and things AND bed just makes getting "home" worth it, even though you miss the folks you left behind.   Is everyone trying to get past that awful storm?  I spent so much time watching what was going on....it was just hard to believe.

Sherry, hope you are doing alright today?  I didn't know you had to have that much done..... And I don't know that much about implants, but even at my age, I was thinking about them, if I had to have a mastectomy.... That was 3 years ago...   I had surgery Dec. 4th, 2009...

Dreamers.... what is wrong with your hand?  I must have missed something a ways back......

Chevy, I used to have a terrible problem with psoriasis on my hands and feet, the palms and soles were like raw hamburger.  Nothing the Dr perscribed helped.  Someone suggested taking 3 times the daily dose of vitamins A and D and the Dr approved.  Three months and it was completely gone.  Several friends have used it  for exeema and it worked for that too.

Chevy, My hand problems are from the broken wrist I had in July. Still can't make a fist or pick up small things or do the cooking I used to. No problem , its minor compared to the problems of some of our sisters.

I know Dreamers..... me too.... I hate to complain about ANYthing, because we hear these gals on here, that are facing an up-hill battle.

You know Chabba....., THANKS!!!  I have those vitamins here, and I will start taking them (again).....  I just went to the Doc.... Ordered 4 tubes of blood, and one is the Vit. D level..... I'll take the vitamins now anyway.  She said that now, everyone is using sunscreen, and we don't get the beneficial effects from the sun like we should.... Makes sense, right?   She said to keep emollients on my hands, which I do, and in other words "shut the hell up".... Ha, ha!

Kantalope!  Geez!  You don't get anything straight.... I TOLD you to rinse also, because I thought you were using a Nebulizer for treatments.... And if you do it often, you need to get that Albuterol mix, and always rinse.... What did you think I meant?  Rinse your mouth when you brush your teeth?  Sheesh!   I know.... Rinse your mouth out with Coke, Ha, ha!  That sounds better than plain old water anyway.

So Miss K, you got a Windows update?  Is that something you have to leave US for?   Is that like a regular "update" that we all get, and you have to GO??????  Man, your notes are getting shorter and shorter, and you have your own computer!!!

Anyway, Doc said I am in good shape....  but man, I was soooooooo sick last night....  It's like you lay there in bed, and think "this ain't gonna go away"..... So you get up, make a comfortable place in front of the toilet, and just think you are going to die.....  Finally drug my little self back to bed,  took some Pepto, and went back to sleep.   Must have been that 1/2 Philly Steak sandwich from the Casino....

You know little K, I was taking all kinds of vitamins, and never felt any better.... I finally gave up on them, and feel the same!   I always actually feel good...But I just started taking them again...today....  So thanks Chabba.... it's worth a try.

My Doc says, just to use my Advair when I am going to exercise, or run a marathon, Wink....And to use the rescue one, when I get in trouble, but my Asthma is not even there, unless I get sick!  I don't usually rinse off the mouth piece either.... But I thought you were using that Nebulizer machine.  The one where you plug in, turn on, and put that "mask" over your mouth and nose and breathe in, until it is done.    THAT'S the one that you have to take more care with... like rinsing your mouth out after using..... with coke. Wink

Meant to ask silly K.... do you have spell check anywhere on your computer?   There is actually one here.... on top of where I am typing...  And when you type a mistake, it lets you know.... just thought I would add that.  I mean in case you were wondering why your posts don't make sense.

    Love you! xoxoxoxo

Does anyone else ever feel almost guilty that we were so fortunate to be only stage 1? I am so thankful that is where my diagnosis fell. But then I have a close friend who joined the club 6 yrs ago and is now stage iv but is still winning the battle with her latest harsh treatment. Just knowing her and what she shared all along made the day i got the call so much easier. And she was so happy to find out I was not going to have to go through all the craziness she has. Guess I am just counting my blessings tonight and wish I could do more for the others that have to go through so much more. Lets hold the positive thought that none of us ever move off the Stage 1 thread!!!!

Aimee, I feel so blessed/lucky.  My tumor was there for a while and should have been detected earlier (if I would have gone for my mammogram on time).  What a hard lesson to learn.  I pray we all stay on this board too.

Morning gals.......Yes Tigger, I'm so grateful also.  And I'm thankful that I was much older than some of you gals when I heard I had BC.  It's  frightening anyway, and then to be younger with little kids, I don't know what I would do.

But I had DH, both our Daughter's, and Rosie.... Rosie was from Viet Nam, and she and my one Daughter became friends.... she got married years ago, but she says we are her "other Mom and Dad."  So she's like my Daughter from another Mother.Wink  They took me to the Hospital for the surgery, and THEN went shopping, lunching out, and had all KINDS of fun while I was "under the knife"...Ha!  Surgeon had to call them to ask if they would come get me, that I was ready to go home!  They were so fun to be around, that I didn't have time to think about ANYthing.

And Kantalope.... I'm thankful for her... She makes me laugh all the time, and we love teasing each other.   See, I think everyone needs people around them, that will comfort you, and hold you in their arms, and just make you feel safe.  And you have to have someone that will make you laugh.... So I think that's why we are here for each other.  And that's your lesson for today girls!  Ha, ha!

So I'll close my eyes when you gals all get together, and think of you in GCS!  I can't come and be with you.... I sort of can't leave DH alone for too long....But I'll BE there with you, in my heart.  I would love to think of you all gathered around, with music playing, and you guys dancing and just having a ball!

Can I be honest ? In a word, iatigger ? No!

Actually, I feel UNfortunate that  the (local) newspaper article that just came out around 2 weeks ago saying ppl with my stage  might consider just the ' watch and wait' instead of stirring things up!

Sure wish someone had told me that at the time. I just figured  BIG C - surgery!
I got no rads, SNB  LX and 2 nodes out , and I have lymphedema.  We are ALL at risk for it ... no matter the stage , and it is lifelong.

I may ( or may not) get a  recurrence and any one of us can get into another stage. We are not out of the woods by any means.
I'm as grateful as the next person for what I DO have , but as my husband ( who was a stage 4 btw) always says : " If you're going to wish, wish BIG!"  I wish they never detected it in the first place to be honest with you!

It's just that I'm reading so much suffering .............

Yes....... that can change in a minute......

Yes...every little pain and discomfort makes me thing if it's coming back.......

BC is a scary word no matter what stage.....

Now I have a cup of coffee to find my head......Wink

purple32 - I read that article as well.  Unless the one printed in my local paper was edited somehow the specific BC diagnosis was never stated, it only said "early breast cancers".  I assumed they were referring to Stage 0 DCIS or LCIS.  Did the article you read have more specifics?  I was a little surprised that they were so vague.

A few tina....something under 1 cm showing only on mammo, ' favorable conditions ' like ER PR pos.  Essentially, a luminal a cancer - like mine.

purple32 - My local paper must have truncated the article.  I don't remember reading any of what you wrote.  I was, of course, looking for my own stats in the piece.  Hmmmm, mine were all under 1cm, but I had an ILC, a DCIS, lobular neoplasia, and multiple areas of ADH "sprinkled throughout the mid-breast".  None of this showed up on my mammo.  The ILC was borderline (18) on the Oncotype DX testing so I had to decide about chemo.  Unless I read something more conclusive than this I'm still going to be satisfied that I made the right choice for me by choosing BMX.  I just had too much going on to convince me that leaving it all alone would have been the right path.

I think most of us play the "what if" game throughout this process.  I'm sorry this article casts a shadow over your treatment choices, especially in light of your resulting lymphedema.  It all just plain sucks!

    Tina

I have NO doubt that you made the right decision, and I apologize if I made anyone think perhaps they did not . I was talking strictly about myself.

In my situation with my early stage luminal A cancer and having bad lungs that resulted in me skipping rads AND bad bones < 3 serious breaks>  that resulted in me skipping ALS and CIRC/ vascular  that resulted in me skipping tamoxifen, it surely seems like surgery alone was not worth it - ESP . with the resulting LE after 2 clean nodes out.  Seems like all of the TX were a huge catch 22 for me...perfect storm.  I have even been warned against taking DIM because of a thyroid goiter !

Seeing ' my story" , I'm sure you can understand why I might feel this way.

    Best wishes to you.

Morning Purple.... You know, speaking for myself, I didn't have to go through anything like you did... I mean we are all so different.   I maybe could have NOT even had the MammoSite radiation, but listening to my surgeon, convinced me that it would help, and also the 3 nodes were clear.  I COULD have done chemo, with an Onco score of 19, but I didn't want to.  I took Tamoxifen for 14 months and lost my hearing.  BUT I'm 3 years out now, doing good, and I DO find a lot to be thankful for.  When things affect us like they sometimes do, it's easy to understand why we really get down and have a hard time seeing anything good about what happened to us....

I just thank God everyday, that I am beyond all that happened in my life 10 years ago.......  I went through it, we got everything straightened out, but at the time I thought I couldn't and didn't want to go on anymore.  I was just done.   But  with the help of my friends, and my beliefs and determination, I came through it.   It WAS the darkest part of my life.  So I DO find things to be grateful for...  My breast cancer wasn't easy, but for me, maybe going through what I DID before, made it easier for me to face.

    Take good care.
