panmars - Sounds like a bummer - hope things improve soon!

panmars - That sounds painful! Is the antibiotic working alright? Keep an eye your your temp perhaps. I hope that you feel better soon. Has the surgeon seen how things look?0
-
Yeah, saw the surgeon for a post op on Tuesday. She said it looked fine and that the greenish discharge was normal. Huh? In my book, green or yellow means infection. Anyway, my GP put me on antibiotics and it does seem like that is helping. Thank you all for the well wishes, it means a lot!

Panmars, hope you're doing much better and will be able to take things easy. This was a major surgery and is effecting your body with a change in hormones in ways we probably don't quite understand. Did they tell you not to lift anything? Take care!

Panmars, I think you are right about the color, it doesn't sound right. Some of those hospital acquired infections don't respond to regular antibiotics. If you start to run a fever I would get in to the doctor right away and insist they culture your infection. Four incisions for two ovaries sounds a bit much, was it laparascopic?
I got my CA27/29 test results back and it was fine, along with a clear chest x-ray. Insurance isn't going to pay for my BRCA test so I'm not getting it. Even though I'm under 50, there has to be a first degree relative with BC also under 50 to qualify. My aunt is the only one and she was 56 I think. Rats.
My internet is back on at home so I'm playing catch-up. Hope everyone is having a great weekend!

Shelley, it was laparoscopic. 4 incisions, belly button, over both ovaries, and right above the pubic area. That's the one that is not doing well. I would say it is slooowly getting better, but it's still partially open and draining. I may be going to see my GP this week for his opinion if doesn't improve significantly in the next couple of days ( my surgeon is out of town, of course ). Anyway, congrats on your test results. Good news! And thanks again everyone for the well wishes!0
-
Shelley, Congrats. Panmars, hoping you will start to heal faster!

Shelley, congratulations on the good test results. Panmars, hope your GP can get to the bottom of what is going on with your incisions. Get plenty of rest as that will help your body to heal.

Got the results from the MRI I had last week and everything is looking great! There was no evidence of Cancer on the chest wall and the lymph nodes that were all bound together are now separating and show no cancer there either! I will have a CT scan as soon as they can schedule it for me and that should tell how the lungs, liver and bones are doing. I may not have to have the PET scan unless the CT shows something abnormal or that the onco wants a better look at. I will have to have the Bone Scan and that is the one I really hate so I am putting that one off as long a possible. Still have 3 more drs. to have follow up appointments with. My onco gave me the name of a new PS that I will be calling tomorrow. So for the time being all is good for me.
Hope everyone else is getting their share of good news too.

Amyjo that is wonderful news. I'll be praying for your CT and bone scan.
I actually got good news yesterday. Had an appt with the endocrinologist because my testosterone if so low it does not register. Anyway all my adrenal glands are functioning properly which was a real concern. Endo says I can't take testosterone because I have a strong family history of cardiac disease but i am fine with that. I don't won't to take any more drugs. But found out I am almost finishes with menopause. In Jan when I was tested I was no where close to going through menopause. I know they say tamox does not cause you to do into menopause but seems funny I started tamox in Feb and now I'm almost finished with menopause. Will go back in 6 months to have all bloodwork done again and will share with my MO next week. Oh well it was going to happen anyway.
Anyone else have good news. I like it when we can all share good news. But of couse will be here for those that need support with the bad news as well.

Happy Birthday to September birthdays, mine was on the 8th.
shelly thanks for the link, great information
Have a lot of catching up to do, been active with band stuff and some pain management issues with my neuropathy, finally got some medication that is helping. With out it, I was in a lot of pain after helping out with the band and took me a couple of days to recover with still the pains in my legs and feet. Well felt better than I have in a long time. I just need to make sure I get enought sleep and some caffiene in the mornings so I am not crashing by noon. We they say may cause drowsiness they really mean it. It is just something I am going to have to deal with.
