sherry-  My brave, strong friend.  All you can do is try your best.  You most certainly did that!  Sometimes we thought the treatment was going to get you before BC did!!  Jeez, you even tried more than one chemo!  You have done everything they have asked of you.  I will keep you in my prayers, as always.

Ladies do you realize we're almost to 100 pages? Do we need a party to celebrate the incredible, strong, loving, amazing women that we are - that have managed to talk our way thru this BC?

I'll bring the cyber spinach dip, I've been told it's good.

Sherry Cann't imagine going through what you did with chemo. With this BC ride, you never what's going to happen until you get into it

I know just how you feel about recurrence it's always in the back of my mind as well. I am on an AL, but I am also trying very hard to change my diet as well a other life style changes.

Sherry9316--I remember you from the rads thread and remember when you went MIA in the hospital.  Gee I did not realize you had such a hard time in chemo before that.  You have def been on a rocky ride.  Glad you found all of us here.  It is a great place. Woohoo for going to the grocery store by yourself.  Once step at a time my friend.

Hey everyone - I got tired of sorting through all the paperwork so decided to stop for a while and see what was going on with my sisters here.  I think I will file and extension so I have some more time to get all of this done.  I have 2 bank accounts, 5 investment accounts, 7 oil and gas leases, 3 mineral rights properties, 2 houses, 3 income pensions with 2 that still owe us back payments and about 15 life insurance policies plus all the medical bills to finish adding up and trying to determine the status as of Dec. 31 2010!  Now I remember why I quit the tax business after only 7 years.  DM - Boy would it be nice if I could teach Daisy to do all of this.  First I have to teach her to read. Laughing

Anyway evrything else is going great.  I have 4 more radiation treatments left to do and my skin is holding up really well.  So far a little  peeling and one spot in the middle of the V in my breast that is really red, but no blisters.  I see the RO after tomorrows treatments to confirm that I will only have the 3 more treatments.  Then I will be doing the "I'm well done" happy dance very soon.

Update on Daisy's antics - When I went upstairs to start some laundry, she hid my cell phone, iPad, keys, and wallet then when I came back downstairs she proceeded to bark and howl at me until I got into bed.   DH thinks this is just too funny, but I am starting to get a little annoyed.  I finally found everything and got them put back in my purse then put my purse on top of the table out of her reach.  Now I just have to remember that is where I put my purse. Smile

I think tonight DH needs to take me out to dinner for a change.  I think I need to get out of this house for something other than a medical appointment!  {{{{{{{{{{HUGS}}}}}}}}}} to all. Amy Jo

amyjo-  Now you (and Daisy) have me laughing!  She belongs on America's Funniest Videos, you need to film all her antics!  I am just ecstatic that you are feeling so well and your skin is holding up.  You might want to show the peeling, red area to your nurse.  I had the tiniest area like that and she gave me a prescription for Silvadene burn cream.  It fixed it up in no time and it didn't get worse.  Definitely tell DH it is time to go out for a date other than medical.  I wonder what Daisy will hide while you are out!

Dinner out got out voted because of a HOA meeting.  They are supposed to only be an hour, but the new HOA Pres. likes long meetings, so dinner out will be tomorrow.  When Daisy saw I was a little upset she hid DH keys tonight!  He did not think that was so funny.  I laughed until I had to make a mad dash to the bathroom.    I wish I could catch her in the act, but she is so sneaky and quick.  We need a new show "American Pets Have Talent"  I think I will start watching some old movies and Daisy and I will have Summer Sausage and Velveta cheese dip for dinner.

Our Lab has TRex syndrome, can find moving objects but when they stop like cats and rabbits he can't find them and looses track of them.

Amy please ask you nurse about the silver cream, within a few days of using my burns started healing. Now after a month all I have is a slight tan.

mjbmiller - I will ask her tomorrow about the silver cream.

So far the miaderm, calendula, emu oil and aloe rotation of applications has worked really well. The area that is peeling is dry and the red tender skin is better this evening after using the aloe for the last 2 days.  (Hope my little plant lasts for the last 4 treatments.)

Daisy says to give your lab a treat for not killing the rabbits, that always gets her in trouble with Daddy.

She is beautiful Amy Jo. I used to have a Daisy. She was a border collie mix. Sweet girl.

Amyjo I do not think our lab could kill anything he would just mess around with em. He is just a big lovable lug. He typically cases the animals and looks so proud when he comes back. But your Dasiy is just adorable.

amyjo-  my son and I are sitting here laughing ourselves silly at Daisy hiding DH's car keys!  God has a sense of humor and I think he is sending it through Daisy.

mjbmiller-  like Daisy wasn't funny enough, then you go and tell me about your lab's TRexx syndrome and we are running for the bathrooom!

Oh it is good to laugh!!!!!  Thank you ladies!

I love these dog stories.  My pooch just wants to be loved on all the time and she has a reall little girl personality.  The only thing funny she does is if my purse in on the floor she empties it out but leaves it all right there at my purse.  If you catch her in the act she takes off running she knows she did something she was not suppose to.

Sherryc - watch out! that is how Daisy started. Then she progressed to just taking one item and hiding it, ususally the keys.

Well just got back from todays rad treatment and I asked about the silver cream and they said that I needed to use a saline solution 2-3 times a day and that they did not use the silver cream much because it burned when you put is on.  The RO said he would block out those areas for the last 3 rad treatments to keep the skin from getting any worse.  So I will be using the saline solution and make sure the area is dry and then use my creams and let my skin get as much air circulation as possible.

amyjo when I was at the end of rads I went topless around my house as much as possible.  It was amazing how good it was for my skin.  Keeping it dry and open to the air is good.  Not always practicle but good.

AmyJo - My RO had the opposite take.  The only things he would allow me to use was aloe vera and if burned the silver cream.  I did use the maderma lotion.  As far as I can tall, it did not burn at all.  I had put it on in the morning, after work and before bed.  It is amazing how many different opinions there are on this.

Kira - I'm not on an AI yet. I'm supposed to be and have my prescription already filled for Arimidex, but I want to do more research and hope to learn from others who have been down that road what  to expect.  I've come back from being a loooooong way down, that I hoping I don't have to go back down there.  I've also been trying to alter my diet some.  I'm mostly a healthy eater - love vegetables and salad - don't eat a lot of meat.  But I do have a sweet tooth problem and especially with chocolate.  My favorite supper is chocolate sheet cake with fudge icing and Blue Bell ice cream (or homemade) on top!  So I've been struggling with that.

AmyJo - I don't know why they are giving you a hard time about the cream.  About two weeks into my rads, I developed a pretty bad rash on my clavicle and my RO prescribed the silver cream.  It helped a lot and I never experienced any burning or any other negative SE from using it.

Sherry - I called my MO and he is calling in the Rx for the silver cream.  The saline solution made things a lot worse and more painful.  At least my MO does everything possible to keep me going and as comfortable as possible.

amyjo - I told my daughter about Daisy and her antics and showed her the picture of Daisy.  What kind of dog is Daisy and how did you get her?

    Elisimo Member Posts: 1,262

Omaz- Daisy is a minature schnauzer and I got her from my DD#1 who owns Daisy's mom.  Daisy was actually born at my house when they were here visiting that year for the 4th of July.  Daisy is now 8 yrs old.  And she sort of picked me, everytime they came for a visit they brought all the puppies and Daisy always came to me when I walked by the crate.  She is a lovable thing and I don't think she knows she is a dog.

amyjo-  I'm glad your other doctor is calling in Rx for Silvadene cream.  When I had one little, fried, peely, red area, it seemed to heal it overnight.  Hang in there, my friend.  Only two more days to go!!
